Creative Inspiration - Week 27 2015

Hello everyone.

Yes.. I know that my posts on the blog have been a little quiet over the past few weeks.

Unfortunately life has gotten in the way of my craft time and really just haven't had a chance to scrap at all. Quite sad really as I did miss scrapping.

Anyways... I did manage to get some scrapping done yesterday.. I was suppose to be studying and getting my last gap assignment done but took time out to get a pocket letter done that I owe and then I kinda ended up making three!

Now... I have been playing with the scraps from a kit set to me by Leanne at Mad About Scrappin. It has this super yummy and cute paper range Tangerine Adventures MME Jubilee.

I promise this week to show you the layouts that have been created to go with this kit which comes with FULL instructions on how to create the layouts!!!

So here's two of the pocket letters that I created with this paper range.

For both of the pocket letters I have used the paper range as the base for each pocket. Then it was a case of finding pits and pieces to add a bit of pop to each pocket. I have used a mix of bits and pieces from my stash along with some added goodies from several Mad About Scrappin sales.

I find that the mini paper bags from Mad About Scrappin provide super quick and easy pockets for the design. I am then able to hide little goodies in them. My favourite would be the kraft paper bags with the coloured letters.

The other thing I have found with pocket letters is that they are a great way to use up the scraps of a kit. The paper is cut to 2.5' x 3.5' in size so finding scraps to fit is easy. Especially when you mix up the pocket colours from a matching range.

Well better get back to study so that I can play catch up on scrapping next week.

Till then.

Creative Inspiration - Week 26 2015

Hello all.

I have been busy this week with a mix of scrapping, studies and looking after kids.
I have also had a chance to play around with a bit more of the MME - Wild Berry paper range.

So here the layout that I have created this week to share.
I have created a layout using another photo of my daughter just before her Graceful Girl performance. The floral papers from this paper range matched perfectly with the colours of her costume.
I have included a few home made digital cards in the muted grey colours to match in with the grey striped washi tape I have used as my border.

I found some metallic card stock in my stash that I really wanted to add some sparkle with to my layout. I used a wooden vine template from my stash to create the metallic vines. Must say I quite enjoyed getting some fussy cutting done this week. It was quite therapeutic.

I had a journal date spot from Mad About Scrappin, that matched perfecting with the blues in this paper range. I then had some matching glitter alphas that I have finished off the layout with to create a title. I love the feel of this layout. It looks very feminine and have a lot of dimension with the vines that I have created.

Once again quite a simple layout using a mix of the floral and plain paper from the MME - Wild Berry range to create this girl layout.

Creative Inspiration - Week 25 2015

Good morning everyone.

Back this week to share with you a very quick layout using some more of the MME Wild Berry paper range I have been sent to play with  from Mad About Scrappin.

So here's the full layout I have created this week to share with you.
I have used some kraft card stock for the base of this layout as I wanted a completely different feel to this layout. More of a home crafty feel. I have then mixed it up with the patterns from this paper range and used a mix of patterns. I must say I love the look of them all on the kraft card stock.

To add a bit of dimension I have used a mix of chipboard numbers from my stash. I have coloured them all black to tie them all together and mixed up the sizes. They were then all adhered to help frame the bottom of the pattern paper at the bottom. I love mixing black and white with the bold colours of this paper range. I have also added lined paper bag to the layout as I find it adds that little extra without adding too much.  to tie the black of the numbers to the layout I have added the black Polaroid frame. Then added a little bit of sparkle with the fuchsia wire which I wasn't too sure about until the layout all finally came together. By keeping the photo black and white it has then completed the look I was trying to achieve. It also helped me to be able to pull off a pink based layout of my son without it looking too feminine.

I had some kraft coloured tags ion my stash from a previous Mad About Scrappin sale which I have used to create a bit of feature to the layout. I have then added a few matching stickers from my stash to add a bit of dimension and interest to finish off the layout.

Super easy and quite fun to play with.

Well off to get some things sorted for the next kit.

Till next time.

Creating with a kit - September Skies Kit

Back to share with you the first of two kits I have worked with on behalf of Mad About Scrappin.

This is the first of the two that I want to show you called September Skies.
This kit includes the following with full instructions for the 3 above layouts:
4 x Heidi Swapp September Skies Pattern Paper
2 x Cardstock (not pictured)
3 x Flair Buttons

1 x Roll of Washi Tape
1m Twine
3 x Set of Journal Cards
Peg
Hot Air Balloon Wood Veneer
Wood Veneer Frame - Shine
Bitty Bag
2 x Peonies
Magnolia Flower
Wish Chipboard Word
Doily
Wire
Star Sequins

ONLY $15.00
The first layout was quite a fun layout. I have played around with some fun photos of my girls and one of their good friends at the playground we took last month. I have created with the mixed patterns in this paper range to create pennant flags to embellish this layout.

The title I have used hand cut the word happy and then mounted it onto some of the matching patterned paper and then hand cut it out again.
I have also added some hand stitching to add a little detail. However you could do the same with a journal pen should you not enjoy hand stitching on your layout.

I have then added some interest to the layout using a mix of matching buttons from my stash and one of the flairs from the kit to finish it off.

I played around with the florals in the next layout. I loved the bolder colours in the floral pages. I have teamed that up with the bolder red orange papers from this kit to add a bit of contrast on the black cardstock.

Once again I have created my own embellishments for this layout. I have hand cut some stars from the floral paper and then mounted them onto the bolder red orange dot paper. I have adhere them staggered using some 3D foam tape to create dimension.

I have used a couple of stamped to add some details to a graph journal card from my stash to add a little bit extra to the page. I have then used a office paper clip and jazzed it up with washi tape.
Super easy and fun to play with.

The last layout I have played around with the blues and greens from the kit. I have added a journal card to this layout too. Half of the graph journal card has been stamped with a number stamp and the other half I have border punched. These I have then layered with a lined paper bag and added the wood veneer balloon for some interest.

Once again I have played with another paper clip with washi tape. This I have added to another piece of  graph journal card and finished off with a flair from the kit.

I have finished the layout off with a few touches of washi tape to add a bit of interest.

All three of these layouts were super easy to create and fun.

Head over to the Mad About Scrappin Facebook Page to grab one!

Will share the next kit soon.

Creative Inspiration - Week 22 2015

Hello... Hello...

Well... with the end of another month comes the last of another paper range to share.

I have very much used up every last teenie little bit of the Princess paper range by Echo Park this month. I loved playing around with this paper range for sure on behalf of Mad About Scrappin.

So here's the layout I have to share.
I have used up the last bit and pieces to create a layout about my daughter recent birthday party. The paper range worked really well with the party photos. The layout has a bit of a different feel to it as well with the "sections" that have been set up with this design. It was also a little different for me to use multiple photos and for the photos to be this small too.

I really love the tea cup and teapot stickers from the matching sticker set as they tied in with the tea party theme of my daughters party.

I have also added some stitched detail to the layout. It had added a patch work effect and has added to the whimsical feel to the layout. It was also a perfect way to tie all the little scraps of patterned paper together too.

The matching stickers in this range as just so cute. I have used one of the stickers, the "girl" pennant flag, as the main part of my title. I have adhered it using some 3D foam tape and finished off the title with some large alpha stickers.

I have finished off the layout by using the matching stickers in the range. To create a bit of interest, I have adhered them with 3D foam tape.
AND.... I have to admit to not being a sticker person HOWEVER...I love this carriage sticker it is just so cute and the sticker are just perfect in this paper range too..

To finish off the layout I have added in the date the party happened. I love adding in the date on some of my layouts too using a date stamp. I find this the perfect way to document when the events happen too.

Had a ball playing with the last bits and pieces from this paper range. I am a little sad that this is finished.

However am looking forward to sharing with you a new paper range to start the next month.

Well... better get back too getting my scrap work done.

Thanks for stopping by.

Extra special - Mother's Day Share

Afternoon everyone.
On behalf of everyone here at Mad About Scrappin,  I would like to wish
all the Mums, Angel Mums, Grand Mums , To Be Mums
and most of all of the the Angel Mums
a very very

I have a quick share for you today that I had mentioned on Friday.
I have created a few extra special cards from some of the Echo Park Princess paper range for MOTHERS DAY !!!!

So here's the cards I have created for Mother's Day.
My first card I created on recycled card as a base. I have then used the heart pattern from the paper range and inked the edges before stamping to the left side of the paper vertically. I have also inked the edges of the recycled card base.

Then I have layered a medium sized paper doily and wrapped the card with some black and white bakers twine. I have then added a large glittered butterfly tucked under the twine. To finish if off I have stamped a smaller butterfly onto some of the heart paper and adhered it to the centre of the glittered butterfly and added in a sentiment from my stash.

For the second card I have played around with some paper napkins that matched the paper range and have adhered them randomly in small pieces to a piece of white pasteboard. I have then matted it onto a light grey card stock and then to a black card base.
To mix it up I have played around with a few of the mixed patterns from the paper range to cut out the hexagons and adhered them randomly across the card.

Then I have added some decoration to the card with a little help from a clock that I had in my stash that was on acetate and some organza ribbon. I then clustered a mix of paper flowers from Mad About Scrappin. I then finished it off with a sentiment sticker to add my greeting and a cute little metal filigree heart I had been sent to play with.

Both cards very feminine and  a little different.

Well better get back to relaxing for my Mother's Day.

Enjoy.

Creative Inspiration - Week 17 2015

Hello all.

We are heading into the last weekend of our school holidays here in South Australia. It has been a VERY busy time for my family with Graceful Girl performances for Calisthenics and my partner down for a visit.

In between I have been playing around with the last bits from the Teresa Collins - A Wonderful Life - paper range that Leanne from Mad About Scrappin sent for me to play with.

I must admit to being a little sad to have finished with this paper range however as I have had so much fun creating so many goodies with it. I have got a teenie little bit left for some goodie bags for my daughters birthday but I will share those with you just before her big party in a few weeks.

Anyways... this week I am sharing with you a layout I have created of my two younger misses.
Once again I have worked with some card stock that I have had in my stash for what seems like forever. This card stock colour worked really well with the floral element of this paper range. I haven't played around with the floral part from the kit much at all this time.

It is a little hard to see however on the base card stock I have found a Kaiser craft stamp that was a similar floral pattern as the paper range. I have use dove grey staz on to randomly stamp the same floral arrangement across the page in the top left to the bottom right. I have then lightly inked the edges of the card stock with black. The die cut frames were also originally white however just didn't stand out when layered over the small paper doilies I wanted to use so I have used a black sharpie to colour them.

I have then used a combination of the die cut "together" and word sticker from the Wonderful Life sticker set to create my title. I have adhered the word sticker using 3D foam tape. I have then finished off the layout with a few gem circles that I have from my stash and some more word stickers where desired. They add that little bit extra but keep the layout looking a little clean.

Simple layout to create when things in life get a little busy.

Are you going to get a chance to play this weekend?

I am looking forward to getting started on the new kit I have been sent to play with.

Cant wait to share.

Creative Inspiration - Week 13 2015

Good morning all.

I almost forgot to get this blog post up and running.

Anyways... once again I have been playing around and making a mess with some more of the "Something Wonderful" product range from Teresa Collins.

This week I have certainly made a bit of a mess creating this layout as I have played around with a bit of paint for my base.
I still have a bucket load of card stock in a wonder of colours that I just cant seem to work with. Well this week I decided it was time to hit that stash. Will a bit of paint and some stamping I have been able to create a base that I was happy with. I have also trimmed the green card stock and matted it with the white to tie in the patterned paper.

All the embellishments on this page tie into the wood veneer frame that I have used to frame my photo. This keeps the embellishments simple as I have mixed them up. Because it has been kept simple the brighter colours of this paper really pop out.

I had a ball playing around with some embroidery floss and stitching on this layout. I felt it added that little bit extra. I like too how it works with the whole square pattern of this layout that I have carried through with everything. I like how the stamp just peeks through too. I have used a dove grey staz on ink so that the stamped pattern is subtle in the background.

Have you got a pile of card stock just sitting there in your stash you don't use ?

Why not mix it up and create your own base.

Till next week,

TFL, M x

Creative Inspiration - Week 7 2015

A very cheery "HELLO" to everyone !!!

I hope that this post find everyone well and managing to find some to to get some craft things done.

Here I have been busy with the kids heading back to school, getting the house back to normal and sanding back an old set of bedside tables that I was given.

Oh.. and have managed to get some creative time in there too !!

With that in mind I am back to share what I have created this week using some more of this kit sent to me by Mad About Scrappin.

This week I have managed to get a layout created using a photo of my youngest daughter. As I mentioned last week she just turned six years old so I have a bucket load of super cute photos of her from her birthday.

So here's this weeks layout.
This was a super quick layout I created using the same photo I printed twice. I printed one in color and the other in black and white as a bit of a contrast on the layout. I decided to stick with the navy and red colours from this paper range. I stamped the red card stock and them inked it as the red wasn't quite a match for the red in the patterned paper. By then adding in some white card stock it gave the two red a bit of a barrier so that it was less noticeable that they weren't a perfect match.

The white card stock I felt was a little too stark so I decided to stamp away with some dove grey stazon using a kaiser number stamp from my stash. That carried on with the birthday theme I felt.

The polaroid I jazzed up a little with a few bit of ephemera that I had in my stash. I then finished off the layout with some garden twine, some wood veneer stars, a couple of flairs, and some bling stars to add a bit of sparkle on the layout.

I had fun playing around with this paper range this week.

Well it's going to be a hot weekend here so off to hide away and get creative,

Till next week.
