Creative Inspiration - Creative Card Fun

Okay.. so just a super quick post today as I am on placement once again and running after a room full of toddlers.

Have had a few cards to create this month so used some of the Pink Fresh Studio - Up in the Clouds paper range to get creative.

I had two cards to create... one for a wedding and one for my youngest daughters 7th birthday.
This paper range was perfect for create two cards with a very unique different feel to them. Both cards were created on a recycled card base as I love the look that it gives the cards.

Because of the whimsical feel to the paper range it was perfect for creating a birthday card for my youngest. I have matted a piece of the mixed patterned paper from the range on some of the pink card stock used to stabilise the embellishment kit (waste not want not I say!). My daughter is a mad keen fan of care bears, so I had to work an image of her new care bear, Grumpy, into the card some how. I have printed an image onto some Canson paper and hand coloured the image. The mounted in on the card using some 3D foam tape. The little wood veneer umbrella that was in the kit was a perfect accent for this card too to finish it off.

Now one of the patterned papers in the stash had a house image which I have cut out to add to this card. Being the card was for a wedding I thought it was fitting. I have them teamed together two different coloured mini paper doilies that I had in my stash that worked perfectly with the colours in this kit. Then it was just a case of layering the paper flowers in the kit on some bowed garden twine to give it a a more rustic fun feel.

As I said.. very quick post sharing two fun cards.
Love being able to use up all the kit I receive by creating a few cards.

Well better get back to it.

Till I get to sharing the last layout from this paper range.

Creative Inspiration - December Birthdays

Just a quick share today, as I have one unwell little girl at home recovering from surgery on Wednesday.

Still playing with some more of the Summer Vibes paper range by Simple Stories that the lovely Leanne from Mad About Scrappin sent me to use this month.

This week I have been making sure I have been able to get all the birthday cards I need for this month all sorted nice and early. Luckily enough the birthdays aren't for another week or two so I am well and truly ahead with these. For both of the cards I have used a recycled card base and then gone from there.

The first is a card with a very feminine feel.
Now for this card I have even used part of the packaging in the kit... where you ask well the pale pink base that I have matted the aqua floral paper onto is actually what the embellishments in the kit were packed with. I just couldn't throw it away and knew that I had to use it somewhere and this card was the perfect place.

Once the base of the card was all sorted it was then just a case of decorating which made made super fun with the fabric flower that Leanne sent me to play with. I teamed it up with a match paper flowers and finished it off with a double bow using garden twine. The card was then finished off when I added the greeting using the word flair that was in the kit too.

The second card I wanted to have a little bit of fun.
This card was super quick to create. I chose to go with the Hello patterned paper as the base and hand stamped randomly to give it a bit of dimension.

I then played around with another mini paper bag from my stash as the base to lay my embellishments on. I followed  through with the kraft theme by adding in a kraft tag to the paper bag. The card was then finished off with some garden twine, matching journal tag and a cute little word tag I mounted using some 3D foam tape.

Super quick cards that have used up a few more bits and pieces from the Summer Vibes paper range.

Well off the take care of my little Miss.

Till next time.

Creative Inspiration - Cards Galore

Wow.... This month is just speeding by...

I am back to share with you some cards that I made for the mountain of birthdays that I had during October. It was certain the month of birthday craziness.

My first card was for my daughter boyfriend, Adam.  Now I really am not a huge fan as you know of creating masculine cards. It's fine when it's for younger boys but as they get older I find it harder to give the cards a real masculine feel. However I found it quite easy this time with a bit of help from some garden twine, matching stickers, a wooden domino and a flair.

Now as I said I find it easier to create for younger boys and this card was made especially for my son. I really wanted to add in the little mummy stamp so just created the card base and then added the mummy in as the embellishment on the front of the card. I love the little chalkboard flags too as they add that little extra with ease.

With my daughter's 18th birthday looming my Mum was going to buy a card when I sang out that I could create something for her to give. It was the perfect opportunity for me to be able to try out a technique I wanted to try. I really wanted to know if  stamping onto kraft card stock and then colouring with mepxy markers could give a good effect. I must say that I LOVE the look and plan of playing with this again.

Now... my younger children wanted to create a card for the big sister too so we all got together to create this card. I have used some of the matching stickers to create the embellishments and teamed it with a large black satin ribbon bow. We then finished the card off with some bling in the form of the glitter numbers.

The card I created especially for my daughters 18th from us I wanted to have a feminine feel without being too girly. By adding it the black and grunging up the card I have been able to achieve the look I was chasing. I have then layered some paper doilies and finished the card off with some garden twin and a wooden die cut dress form.

The last card I created was a super quick one for my niece. I played around with some gelatos on some water colour paper the create the base of this card. I have also double matted it onto some kraft and lightly hand stamped with a graph stamp and black staz on ink. The flowers I have created using layered stamped images and some dew drops. I then mounted the using 3D foam dots to add dimension.

Must say that my busy birthday month is over and I can now get working on Christmas.

Till next week I hope you all get a chance to get creative.

Creative Inspiration - Week 36 2015

Good morning all....

I am excited this week with the start of a new month to be able to share with you a new paper range that was sent to me to play with for this month.

How nice is the Carte Bella - Moments and Memories paper range

Now... with everything here being super crazy and with having Miss K in hospital this week too,
I started this week off with getting organised and pre-cut all the work I wanted to share with you all this month. Now.. I didn't get a chance to get the work started due to being in the hospital.

However I wanted to show you what I managed to pull off today using up the scraps.. yes the scraps of what was left from all the pre-cut work for this month,
As you can see I really didn't have much left from this months kit... however I knew that I would be able to scrape something together with a few odds and ends from my stash.

So I managed to squeeze of a couple of cards for Fathers Day.
Now.. I always struggle creating masculine cards. Its not the base of the card I struggle with.. it's the whole not know how to embellish the card. So creating these card firstly from scraps was a challenge and then having to make them masculine for me was a challenge too.

So here's the first card I created...
Now both the cards were created on recycled card as a base. I then added some black card stock and a book page as the starting point for this base of this card. Then it was just a case of playing around with the scraps of Carte Bella - Moments and Memories paper till I was happy with the layout. I stuck with the black and red colours from this paper range to keep a more masculine feel. Then I added in some old rub on alphas to add a bit of dimension. I then embellished the card using some garden twine to create a bow and then added in a "fun" definition flair.

For the last card I have used the bulk of the scraps to create the base which I then matted on some black card stock before adhering it to the card base. I have also used some washi tape on the red patterned paper to change up the look and tone down the brightness. to embellish this card I have used one of my super cute mini black paper doilies from Mad About Scrappin and then wrapped with some bakers twine. One of the papers from the range had a quote about family. However I have used part of the quote to create the greeting for this card. Then added some black dew drops scattered to finish it all off.

I quite enjoyed creating both cards and have to admit I still have a few scraps left to make another card... nothing wrong with being frugal.

Well better get stuck into this months work...

I cannot wait to share.

Till then.

Creative Inspiration - Week 34 2015

Okay... so just playing catch up and have some quick cards to share with you today that might help you want to get creative this weekend.

I am still wading through my stash and have found a few odds and ends from Mad About Scrappin that I have grabbed from the sales along the way.

My first card was for my cousin and his new fiance on their engagement. I have used an embossed card base for the base of my card that I have highlighted with ink. I then layered up a few patterned paper still I was happy with the look. I added a vintage stamp to the top left of the dotty paper to add a bit of dimension.

To embellish the card I have used a super cute small white doily  and floral vintage ticket from Mad About Scrappin as my starting point and then just layered a mix of odds and ends from there.
Then that was one easy card done.

My second  card was for my cousin and his new fiance on their new house..
bit of a double whammy there.

I started the base of  this card off the same using a birdcage embossed card and inked it to highlight also. Then layered a mix of patterned papers to suit and added a larger white doily. I have a pile of old playing cards in my stash and the colour of this playing card matched perfectly so it was the starting point to layer the embellishments.

I then added a mix of fabric and paper flowers that came from Mad About Scrappin to the embellishment cluster till I was happy with the arrangement. I then added in the ribbons and a couple of pearl hat pins.

Neither was overly difficult to make and used up a few more odds and ends from the stash.

Are you getting scrappy this weekend??

I hope to be able to.

Till next time.

Simple textured card

Just wanted to stop by and share a quick card that I created a while ago for Crafty Crusader. I had a pile of cards to create for friends and family. I have also been trying to use up left over bits and pieces from various kits that I have been using lately.

However I came to the end of a kits and just didn't quite have enough to create the base for the card. So I decided to use some Pebeo modelling paste and a small piece of Canson pasteboard to create a base.

Here's the finished card.

I started with using some Pebeo modelling paste and a clock mask that I had in my stash.  Once the modelling paste was dry I then gave the whole thing a coat of gesso to give it a good even base to paint over. I then created a wash of hot pink by mixing some Pebeo paints till I got the desired colour with water and then randomly ran the paint brush over the base whilst using a heat gun to dry it off at the same time. This helped create the rough base look.

When the first colour wash was dry I then highlighted a few areas with a grey wash and then highlight some of the hot pink areas as you can see about. Then the whole base was stamped randomly with a script stamp and inked, which has highlighted the rough look of the modelling paste.

The whole thing was then matted with some matching card stock and then adhered to a black card base. Then it was just a case of adding in a  journal card, some matching stamped butterflies and some sequins and the card was finished.

Creative Inspiration - Week 29 2015

Just a super quick share today....

Just wanted to show you the last thing I created using up the last scraps of MME Wild Berry Paper range.

This week I created a fun card for a special girl that had her fifth birthday not that long ago.
Because I wanted to mix it up a little I have stamped birthday words using Dove Grey Stazon ink onto the heart paper. I Then stamped the number 5 using Black Stazon ink. This has helped add a bit of dimension to the card.

By adding a largesatin bow I have kept it simple on a recycled card base. I have then printed a digital image and coloured her using some of  my mepxy markers. Added some kindy glitz to the cake sprinkles for a bit of sparkle and then  adhered the image using 3D foam tape.

Simple but effective card for a special little girl.

Are you getting creative this weekend ?

I am and cannot wait to share with you all a new paper range I have received.

Till then.

Extra special - Mother's Day Share

Afternoon everyone.
On behalf of everyone here at Mad About Scrappin,  I would like to wish
all the Mums, Angel Mums, Grand Mums , To Be Mums
and most of all of the the Angel Mums
a very very

I have a quick share for you today that I had mentioned on Friday.
I have created a few extra special cards from some of the Echo Park Princess paper range for MOTHERS DAY !!!!

So here's the cards I have created for Mother's Day.
My first card I created on recycled card as a base. I have then used the heart pattern from the paper range and inked the edges before stamping to the left side of the paper vertically. I have also inked the edges of the recycled card base.

Then I have layered a medium sized paper doily and wrapped the card with some black and white bakers twine. I have then added a large glittered butterfly tucked under the twine. To finish if off I have stamped a smaller butterfly onto some of the heart paper and adhered it to the centre of the glittered butterfly and added in a sentiment from my stash.

For the second card I have played around with some paper napkins that matched the paper range and have adhered them randomly in small pieces to a piece of white pasteboard. I have then matted it onto a light grey card stock and then to a black card base.
To mix it up I have played around with a few of the mixed patterns from the paper range to cut out the hexagons and adhered them randomly across the card.

Then I have added some decoration to the card with a little help from a clock that I had in my stash that was on acetate and some organza ribbon. I then clustered a mix of paper flowers from Mad About Scrappin. I then finished it off with a sentiment sticker to add my greeting and a cute little metal filigree heart I had been sent to play with.

Both cards very feminine and  a little different.

Well better get back to relaxing for my Mother's Day.

Enjoy.

Creative Inspiration - Week 19 2015

Hello everyone.

Just a quick share today as I am in the midst of birthday party prep madness here at the moment.

Have been crazily scrapping when I can
and have been able to get into some more of the Princess paper range by Echo Park.

This week I have created quite a few cards for friends and family. I am sharing a few with you today and have a few extras to share with you on Sunday that I have created especially for Mother's Day.

For the first card I have used some recycled card to create the base of the card. I have then added a piece of white bird cage embossed card stock to begin creating some dimension. I have stuck to the subtle colours of this paper range too for this card and combined it with a paper doily and stamped bird cage.

Then it was simply a case of clustering the paper flowers around the lace ribbon bow I have created on top of a larger floral ticket stub from Mad About Scrappin.

For the next card I have used a white embossed card as my base. Layered some of the bolder heart print paper from the paper range with a script stamped doily. Then added in a cute grey striped paper bag  with a tag from Mad About Scrappin. Finally added a cute pink dotty tag I have had in my stash for ages that matched in well.

Then I have mixed it up with the embellishments a bit by mixing a larger fabric flower with a couple of smaller paper flowers to match the pinks in the paper. Then finished it off with a die cut butterfly from my stash.

For the last card I have started once again with a recycled card base. As I had a silver doily I wanted to play with I stuck to the black and white from this paper range. I have stamped roughly on one side of the patterned paper and inked the edges before adhering it. I then added the silver doily and some cute craft journal spot available at Mad About Scrappin too.

To embellish this card I have added a sheer ribbon and a smaller white satin ribbon which I have bowed to one side. I then added in a paper butterfly which I have blinged up. Finished with my greeting and it was super quick to finish.

Well better get back to finishing off costumes and party food.

Till I share again on Sunday.

Enjoy.
