Fun at ETSY...

Talk about a new venue, I'm sooo diggin' this ETSY thingy!
WHO KNEW!!!
Soaps are selling steady, have nightlights on reserve,
many questions answered and lots of looky-loos...
guess this is how to sell stuff in this here new computer generation!
Poke my ETSY picture on the sidebar and it'll take you there!

As I approach the retirement age...just sayin'...
not that I plan on retiring, however...
a day will come when I won't be able to schlep all that furniture around,
RIGHT...well I guess so...WHATEVER,
thank the Gods for my pink wheeler!!!
But I really look forward to the day when I can stay home
and make soap all day long...and paint...
watercolors, that is!
I want to paint birds and nests and eggs and feathers
AND BUGS AND SKULLS...
That's right...I want to compile my art into interesting vignettes,
not just a bird on a piece of paper...
OOOH...just had an idea...
MAKE IT STOP!!!
Do you ever have one creative idea after another,
an idea pops into your head and it starts a flood of ideas...
well, this is why I don't need much sleep...
Check out The Candle Shed blog for Piper's new and upcoming
bird house designs...and my new design idea for them...ready, get set for...

THE AMERICAN PECKERS...
HA...LOVE IT!!!

Many goings on...at the Shed...

Aren't these just the cutest chairs...
Sue is the latest addition to the Candle Shed family.
She's the most brilliant seamstress...
she covered these retro chairs for Lori from Altered Glass...
SWEET!!!

Ewwwww...the before shot...
a huge improvement!

She's also making the cutest lil' memory pillows,
just pop in a photo and
RELAX!

Primitive lil' felt and muslin ornies for your ol'timey tree...

Sweet heart cutter quilt ornies...

Wint'ry felt candle jar cozies make a perfect gift...

And the cutest lil' pin cushions, again sewn from cutter quilts...
don't forget, we ship...

Piper's also been busy painting her candle jars with with her secret
formula, cute as a button to grace your home with the season of giving.

And of course...me, always busy with some crazy project,
another Cracked in the Head nightlight...
the base on this one is to die for
AND
it sold about an hour after I set it out.
A young gal from Iowa City was mesmerized by it the moment
she set eyes on it...
I love it when that happens, she gave herself a Christmas present!
She also told me of a shop in Iowa City that sells
artworks from locals...
I'll have to check that one out!!!
She said they'd be a hit there...hmmmm...
the wheels are a turnin'...
be afraid!

A time for a change...

Been doin' some rearranging since the open house at Sisters',
it was a balmy 50 sumthin' today, so a great day to play...

and rearrange...

and color coordinate...

and play with the dried Sweet Annie,
don't you love the smell and the look tucked in here and there...

Ohhh, for the love of whites and creams,
yet my heart lies in the bordello reds and dark woods...
beaded fringes and velvets.

Perfect now with the chandelier that glows from the newly
wired shop, as I await the evening darkness
to get the real effect of the power...

of the light...

It glows and it radiates every nook of my world,
now I know what my Granny felt like when she finally got
lights in her cottage...
it's a grand feeling!!!

When friends play...

This is what makes it all worth while,
when friends show support for your dreams...
the Junk Revival...
Barb and Deb from Sisters' Garden
paid a visit to my lil' shop yesterday.
They see the vision, they know what it takes...
a love for what you seek
a dream to build upon it,
scouring every nook and cranny
for those special pieces...
yes, the life of a picker/shop owner,
it never ends, your eyes see in a gifted way
what will enhance your own vision of a dream...
your very own shop.

Thanks girls...what fun!
And thanks for lunch Barb,
the pie was DIVINE!!!

Do you see it...

It's my floor!!!
John called yesterday mornin' and said...
'bring up your doors n windows', well
you don't have to ask me twice...
I rescheduled my groomings, called my brother
and I loaded them up and off we went!

Some of the doors and windows
we dragged into John's barn...

The boys inside hard at work
and the funky forklift that does the lifting,
as it drags out someone else's dream shed.

Isn't this just the cutest lil' building, perfectly aged,
one of the guys said it may be for sale...
hmmmmm...

Ahhhh progress,
don't get much better'n this...
Stay tuned...

Visions of inventory...

...danced in my head...

as piles of 'STUFF'
gather 'round my home...

OK...I'm really having a problem with this piece...
I made the mistake of placing it...
y'all know what that means...
once you start sittin' things on it and arranging it,
it's all over but the shoutin'!!!
MINE!!!

All I can say is, I hope I find a place for them all in the shop!!!
yeah right!

Smalls, smalls, smalls...and dishes and frames...

...and some projects that will be completed in the shed...

IS IT HERE YET???

More bones...dem bones...

Autumn...yup, it's just around the corner...and you know what that means...
Halloween decorating!

So I been playin' around in the bone yard for some funky kid soap...

I think these will be fun, but I'm just starting to look for fun things to put in the soaps...
I also have glow in the dark bugs to play with...

And who doesn't love to play with Fall, the brilliant colors, the cooler, DRY air!
Boy, this has been a wet scorcher this summer. I have never mowed my grass in sections before, but it's too hot, humid and mosquito infested to do it all at once.

So Mother Nature, throw us a bone, at least an 80 degree one...

Where it all began...

Five years ago I had a web site,
started for my Victorian lampshade biz
and antique shop,
it was the beginning of my experience on the internet...
talk about cornfusin'...
But I had a dream of owning and working in my own lil' world,
a shop right outside my kitchen door where the commute was 25 feet...
ahhhh...paradise!

So I began compiling pictures of sheds, n shacks, n stuff
for ideas to make it all happen...

Everyone has their own idea of their lil' piece of paradise,
so we all feed on each others skill to make it our own...

dreams, dreams, dreams...

Let the sun shine in, without it there is no life...
white rooms filled with the light of creation,
this is what it's all about...

Playin' with our toys
and having our very own doll house to share with our friends...

I have a dream...
and next week they start building mine!!!
YIPPEE!!!

Thanks to everyone whose photos I borrowed but,
can't remember where...you guys rock!!!

What I'll do today...

Piper made the cutest lil' birdhouses for a gal the other day, she wanted them hillbilly, do you think it worked...

Love the bread tin on the roof of this lil' abode...Americana sweet!

These mums were just screaming to be arranged in the shop...

So this bit o Fall will greet you as you walk in the front door...

This cupboard will also be transformed today...I'll show ya the results tomorrow...
heehee...

This one will still await the opening of my new shop...sigh...
IS IT HERE YET!!!
