Private Trance Reissues

Adrian Marcator a.k.a. Marcator a.k.a. Trance released a couple of beautiful LPs in the late 70s and early 80s (see his 2nd above). One day when I visited him, he showed me his self produced & "private press" tapes that followed his LPs. Being a fan of ambient synthesizer music these tapes gained holy grail status in my book within minutes. We are now thinking about reissuing a selection of songs from these tapes on LP and I'd be really happy about your feedback.

By request: "Velvet Universe" was 2 young men from the area around Frankfurt/Germany - Thomas Kapke and RAIS (RAIner Sauer). They had a soft spot for epic electronic trips with guitars and astronauts voices. So do we. This record is their first from 1981. "Enigmas", their second from 1983, has also been released on Blubber Lips, a fantastic small label from Heidelberg/Germany. Check out more info on discogs. Rise and Shine . . .

More Rüdiger? Sure, why not. Morning of the World was the last of his records to be released on vinyl. All electronic as usual with lots of big drum sounds. Some tracks have a tribal feel as suggested by the sleeve artwork. I doubt Mr. Lorenz ever made a bad record.

Time Is Now

A longtime fave finally makes it on the blog.... Been wanting to share this great Elektronik LP (Berlin School influences...) for ages but somehow never made it. Time is now. This record has been released in 1979 on the small Blubber Lips label, that brought us some other fine electronic albums like Michael Bundt's "Electri City", the great Bernd Scholl LP and of course - Velvet Universe.
M. C. produced this album almost completely by himself and it is infact a pretty tight production. Deep as it gets....... Get a little more details here.

Banfi Sans Baffo

Galaxy My Dear was Banfi's first solo effort and on this one he is playing all instruments including various synthesizers, sequencers and a Farfisa Rythm Machine. The lp was released in 1978 on Red Record and was dedicated to "My Master, Klaus Schulze". This was the only record he recorded under the J.B. Banfi banner. The other 3 later records would be by 'Baffo' Banfi. But as you can see on the cover he is missing his baffo, so maybe that's why he looks so distraught.

Ich habe Bock

"Bock haben" - "to be up for something" / "to have appetite"
I am up for Elektronik. People label this kind of electronic music as Berlin School.
Klaus Schulze in fact produced this 1980 album and also had an immense impact on Mr. Bock. Nevertheless Bock's doing his own thing. Epic electronics! The title track builds up slow then smashes wagneriesque into your ears with the help of Brad Howell (drummer of Supermax & Chilly). Herk Hobb (???) plays the drums on the 4 remaining tracks on the flipside. Great job.

Wutt wutt

May I present Supersempfft's 2nd LP called "Metaluna" released on the private Wunderwerke Label in 1981. Other than the Roboterwerke and Futurist LPs released on CBS and RCA this album does not feature discoid pre techno tracks but reaggae, calypso and soca influenced electronics unlike anything else in the world of music. Performed by mastermind Dieter Kolb and the drummachine's inventor Franz Knüttel with the help of Franz Aumüller's creative genius (he's responsible for the incredible cover art).
This is freaked out shit!

The tears of a clown

Wow - this guy's got equipment. And he's looking a bit funny, ha?
See what hapens when the mask is down - a nice & friendly guy.
This is not about discussing the shape of his nose,but lose a few words
about his music. It is a solo trip and a weird one.
Must have something to do with german humour which does exist -
just look at the cover! Friends of Luke Vibert's Nuggets will love this
rare beauty that sometimes sounds like the soundtrack to a C64 game.
My favourites are the mindbending "Galaxy Taxi" & the sexy "Dracula's Kuß".
Also recommended to fans of Klaus Schulze as there are also some mellow Berlin School tracks.
