The Best Year of My Life Coming to a Close!

Image
The busiest yet wonderful time of the year!! Lucas had his very last collegiate concert choir and it was the best one yet. They sang Christmas songs, and then the orchestra did pieces from the nutcracker, it was beautiful.   Lucas and I got our first real Christmas tree (my first real tree ever) and it was really fun picking it out and filling the house with the great smell. After we got that set-up we rushed too Whitney's piano recital & dressed up as Santa & his elf & passed out candy canes to the kids during the last song. We didn't fool our own nieces and nephews though.  A few days later we had an FHE with the Webb's and made popcorn garland for our tree and Star Wars ornaments. We love hanging out with them.  The next day we did a date bank which was to see cool Christmas lights and get hot chocolate at Fizz. A week later Lucas had his ASU undergrad graduation!! So proud of him and his determination to finish school with great grades. Now I am ex...

Time to Feast!

Image
This month I started seeing a new esthetician for my face and I really believe she can help so we shall see! We babysat the Bowden kids for a week and it was easily our favorite gig to date. The house was my dream home, so organized and clean, and the kids were ANGELS!! We really loved watching them.   As soon as that was over we started another Questival adventure. This year we were the Wild Things and had McKayli, Kelley Muro, Hudson, and Lucas and I on the team. We wore animal costumes and did so good! The whole time we were in first place for our peer points by like 4 points. So we were on a high, and had so much adrenaline going because we were confident we were going to win this thing. Towards the end our challenge points started getting towards the end so we were doing everything we could to get more points to stay in the top. At the end of the race we barely had enough challenge points but we're in first  place. We were excited and pumped but knew we couldn't ...

October!

This month we launched THE DATE BANK!! We had this idea to start a YouTube channel with fun, creative, affordable dates. And after a few months of planning and brainstorming we were finally able to launch it. So we'll see where it takes us. We had a few weddings at the beginning of the month. Then we did a group pumpkin carving date night and we tried carving a picture of ourselves... bad idea.  It did not turn out very well. Then it was Grandma Bodine's 96th birthday! So crazy. We went over to the Millett's to eat dinner and do a Grandma trivia and eat chocolate because that's her favorite.  Lucas then had a choir concert & there was a gospel choir this time and it was a nice change instead of having all opera sounding music. We got up on our feet and danced and it was a good time. Oh and Lucas' group did great too. Our episode from the price is right aired so that was fun to see ourselves on TV. We then had the Millett's & Kolstad's spend...

Weddings Never End

Image
When I thought the wedding craziness was done I was wrong! This month was spent helping Haley Skousen get ready for her wedding! Started out the month going to Ray Roman Films workshop. It was sooo enlightening and I learned a ton of new things to apply to my filming. This guy charges ridiculous money and hopefully one day I can be at that level!  We then had Haley's bridals and they we were gorgeous. We then rushed to her bacherlotte party  which was at an aerial yoga place and it was a blast!! Definitely something I want to try again. Then I went up to Utah the following weekend to shoot a wedding and stayed with Lauren. First thing was to shoot Haley & Johnny's love story. I loved seeing them together and seeing how much Johnny loves her. I hung out with Lauren & her family that night and Camry is always a blast to be around. The wedding was the next day at the Provo City Center Temple and there was really bad traffic and I thought I was going to miss the t...

Still partying in August

Image
First week of August continued from California. Trennon and Cari Anne were there now so we had a beach day with them on Monday! Super fun as always. Then Tuesday we drove straight to the Price is Right game show in Hollywood. We waited in line for about 1.5 hours then we got our names, and then shortly after did the group interviews, where we had me as the sugar momma for Lucas, he was teh stay at home husband, Cari Anne was a student, Trennon was the Milk Boy, Mom was the Milk Momma, and Dad was the milk Daddy. The guys seemed really interested in my dad so we for sure thought he was going to get on the show. So we wait some more, and finally get into the studio and it is a lot smaller than it appears on TV. We were about 4 rows back so we had a lot of camera time. The show went on and no one from our family got picked, pretty bummed. But it was still a lot of fun to be apart of!  Then we grabbed some lunch and headed to the LAX temple to do a session and we got there and it wa...

Vacations in July!

Image
Yikes, Marriage has got me bad at blogging! I now finally feel caught up with life and its been 8 months! So my goal is to get the rest of they year blogged and accounted for! :) Beginning of July we went up to Pinegrove campsite with Butch & Delynn for 4th of July! We broke in our new tent, played farkle, attended the 4th of July Parade at Mormon Lake and then went to Snowbowl and took the chairlift up to the top! It's a spectacular view and then we got Hot Chocolate at the bottom & played some tetherball. My glory days of that in elementary school are definitely over. I got winded so easily! On Sunday we went to church and in Happy Jack area and met up with Megynn & Johnathon and their crew of people who were staying at their cabin that weekend. The branch was so tiny and most people there were visitors but the testimony meeting was great! We then went back to Megynn's cabin and played games and had a great time there! 4th of July was on a Monday so after we clea...

First Month of Marriage, we got this!

Image
Wow being married is busy! The month of June, was full of adulting and settling in, and getting used to living with my husband. So the house we're living in is Lucas' uncle and aunts house and they left to serve a mission in Hawaii so we were lucky enough to move in and have a very affordable rent for the first year of our marriage. The Bodine's & some friends helped us move all our stuff in and we made it as much of ours as we could. A week later we had our parents over to watch us open the crazy amounts of presents  we received. We were overwhelmed with the love & support from family & friends. The rest of the month I had a few more weddings and mission homecomings to shoot and even did a wedding is Dewey (Prescott) and it was beautiful! We learned a hard lesson though, bring 3 camera bodies!! I rented a nice lens for Lucas to use on our 2nd body and it worked all morning and then DIED (as in broke) right when the bride came down the aisle. Lucas was panick...

Honeymoon Adventure!

Image
S unday May 22nd 2016 Nothing too exciting happened today except we made it Costa Rica! We had to leave the hotel by  7:00am  not super ideal.. But Butch and Micah got the keys for my car and drove it home as we took a shuttle to the airport. First flight was to Denver, then Houston, then finally Liberia Costa Rica! I slept on 2 of the flights really easily and am glad I have that ability to pass out in uncomfortable positions. It was about a 30 minute drive to our All Inclusive Resort we were staying at (Riu Hotel Guanacaste) it is super nice and our room is nothing spectacular just a king bed, bathroom & balcony. Perfect for us. We grabbed some buffet food and looked around a little bit. We then called it a night.        Monday May 23rd 2016 Monday  we didn't set any alarm clocks as we knew we needed our sleep so we woke up around  10:00am  maybe? I can't remember and stayed in the room til about  noon  and finally ma...
