Something Wicked...

Hello Crafty Friends!

I hope you are all safe from the storms and doing well.

Today I want to share an easy Halloween card.  I'm naming this card "something wicked" because of the sentiment inside... :)

Stamps Used:

Other products:
Distress ink- carved pumpkin, spiced marmalade, and mustard seed.
Distress oxidize -black soot and fossilized amber.
Washi tape (bought at a yardsale)
Cardstock- black and white
Distress stain- black soot
Pop dots
Adhesive (miracle tape is a great one)

I started by creating my backgrounds.  The layer I stamped on I created with my inks and a blending tool.  The base was created with water and smooshed ink on my glass craft mat.

(Look how great this creepy tree and owl are... this is just stunning on own!)

After the base pages were dry I stamped my tree on the top card base.  To add extra grunge I flicked a few drops of water on the base, and a few flicks of black distress stain added to the grungy creepy feel.

I added the top layer to the base using the pop dots.

(Sentiment on the inside)

I hope you enjoy this quick and easy Halloween card!

(I need to get to work making more for some crafty friends!)

VLVS and Pocket Letter Pals

Hello Everyone!!
I'm So excited to be back as a part of the VLVS design team!! I hope you all are ready for some fun stamping inspiration!!!
(It may get a little photo heavy in here)

Have you heard of the new fun craze in the crafty mail world?
It's called Pocket Letter Pals!! Read about it HERE or a short video HERE from the woman who started it.

I am in love with creating these!!!
Naturally I love creating ATC's and you know any excuse to create a decorative envelope gets me excited!! So, needless to say this new trend is right up my alley!!!

I hope you all love what I have to share with you and give it a try also! I know you will love it too!

Other supplies:
Dylusions paints (or whatever you want to create your background with)
Black Ink
Memento Ink in pink (optional used for some background stamping)
Scissors for fussy cutting the owl out
pink marker (color in top right card)
White Gel Pen (add highlights and depth)
Black Marker (to draw "hello")

I started with these super fun painted backgrounds (these two were actually created for me by my mom :D whom is also a craft addict! her blog is HERE

(created the owl card with a cut out from this sheet)

Next I cut the paper up into individual cards measuring 2.25in x 3.25 in (if you don't want to mount yours on black standard ATC size is fine also)... NOW the fun begins!!!

(Here you can see how my layout started... {Sorry this photo is a bit washed out}
and
from the final picture you can see things have been moved around some)

I start by arranging my base cards so that they are pleasing to the eye.. then I start stamping :D I like to add something tea or coffee related since people often send these items with thier letters, so thats what I start with. my next step is usually my "Hello" or about me card. From there i tend to bounce around adding qoutes, and things that blend nicely and make me smile :D
(Feel free to simplify yours I got super excited and went stamping crazy!! )

Below are some close up - detail shots

(the boots and fish are my 2 favorites... :D )

(had to share one more close-up of this one! I love it!!)

(with VLVS there is no limit to what you can do with these things! Some prefer to work by theme, or style or even color inspiration... Heck you could do cats, dogs or things that start with a specific letter..lol)

I hope you feel inspired and as excited as I am about these! Let us know if you'd like to see more Pocket Letter inspiration!!

Night owl

Hello, Nataliya is here :)
At the end of each year, I have a problem with purchasing a new date book for scrapbooking. This year I decided to make it myself.
And now I have date book, specially for night owls :)

To create the cover I used 7Dots paper (Domestic Gooddes Collection),VLVS! stamps, Sakura of America Micron, gauze, stencil, paint, ink and medium.

Moon - the eternal companion of owls :)

And here is the main character  - owl. I colored it with alcohol ink.

First case has already been done!

My VLVS! for this project:
Moon Circle 1 3/4 x 1 1/2
Washi Reverse Grid Background 1 1/4 x 5 1/2
Washi Grid Background 1 1/4 x 5 1/2
Stars 2 x 2 1/4

Have a nice owl's night!

Monday, November 05, 2012

I recently put this together for a May Arts project and of course can't NOT show it here.. VLVS! is a constant tool/supply in my craft room and so of course found its way in this fun candy dish!

I thought it would be really fun to have all the little trick or treaters reach through a scary opening to get their candy. So I built a frame from kraft paper and got to decorating it.

I've used stamps:
(stamped straight onto kraft paper in archival ink)
and
(stamped onto Kromecote cardstock and fussy cut)
as well as Miracle tape, scissors, a wet glue, kraft cardstock, vintage buttons, moss, various circle style punches, Archival Ink in black, distress ink in Walnut stain, score board, May Arts Ribbon, Echo Park Paper, an UmWowStudio Gothic Frame, Spellbinders labels four die set.

A quick note about Time2Stamp with VLVS! -- I'm changing it to once a month as I have a TON of stuff going on :) Just keep your eyes out for our fun videos!
