New season, new art.

christmas 2020
For an extra special and surprising christmas brunch, we've set the table at 'le petit restaurant' in the living room.
Change of scenery creates a different atmosphere. The illusion of being a guest elsewhere, sitting at the table somewhere else, anywhere other than the kitchen table. Using different tableware, that we have not used for a long time.
Try to think positively and creatively despite all the restrictions. A lot is still possible and it felt extra festive to have breakfast at home this morning.
Happy Holidays to you all!

new on the art wall
Two new art posters on the wall.
Portrait of a lady - Klimt
Like an elephant in a porcelain shop - Grønholdt
Two poster from Danmark arrived yesterday. Small change, great joy.
We have poured a friday afternoon drink to toast to the weekend.
In the meantime I'm working on a new chevron pillow! Fun crochet project to work on.
You can download the crochet pattern in my Etsy shop.

over-the-top
Exuberant over-the-top flowers on a rainy Monday in November.
Nothing wrong with that.
Normally, I'm not a fan of any chrysanthemums whichever, but these brightly colored mega flowers are extremely over-the-top, it's funny for a change.
Have a good week y'all!

tuesday blues
Blue gets along quite well with an abundance of other colors. No matter what hue of blue, blue blends fine with other colors.
Therefore I chose two shades of blue for a new crochet project; turquoise and bright blue, an eye-popping duo for a diagonal striped pillow.

new cool crochet project
This weekend I've been working on a new cool crochet project.
After a crochet break, it is so much fun to start something completely new!
The newest crochet project is still in the development phase, but I think it will be cool!
You know I always like to take crochet to the next level.
Think Crochet 2.0 - a more complicated version of the chevron pillow.

dahlias
The dahlia comes originally from Mexico and is named after Swedish botanist Andreas Dahl. It is the national flower of Mexico and was originally used by the Aztecs as a food plant.
Once the dahlias were spread around the world, they became much loved for their beautiful vivid flowers, but I still use the petals to cheer up the salad.

inspiration - may 2019
New inspiration in da house;
White & colors chevron pillow with two front sides (lilac & yellow chevrons inspired by the woman with headscarf art print)
David Hockney Joy of Nature exhibition poster (souvenir of the Van Gogh museum visit last week)
The World of Apartamento interior book (an irresistible book, with ten years of everyday life interior by one of my favorite spanish interior design magazines)

the chevron pillow on repeat
New chevron pillow in the making.
Since both chevron pillows I made in January have moved to Boston, USA.
Actually only one chevron pillow was listed in my etsy shop, however Gillian, a friendly customer, asked me if she could buy them both. Well I thought it's better when the pair would stick together anyway.
I miss the pillows in my studio, so I started a new pillow project the same evening. Chevron pillow on repeat, in white & colors, my best loved combination.
Fancy to make one too?
You can download the chevron pattern (with chart) in my ETSY SHOP.

spring fever in sunny february
Henk brought me a huge bunch of yellow tulips from the market this morning.
The florist told him the Victorian interpretation of yellow tulips; there’s sunshine in your smile!
I have arranged the tulips in the big yellow mustard tin, which I bought on the berber market near the Atlas Mountains on my latest workshop trip in October.
On this sun-drenched Saturday in February it looks even more like spring.
The appreciation and joy in 'the little things' in life.
Cheers to the weekend!
