quatre nuits à marrakech

Here I am sitting, perfectly happy in the tasteful and stylish Moroccan house of my super sweet friend Ank.

The last four nights we stayed in her nextdoor riad Chambres d'Amis in the middle of the Medina.

The riad is an oasis of peace and quiet and indulgence!

Whenever we returned from the city, the square or the souk;
It's amazing to experience the contrast of the crowd, the colors, the scents in the Medina and the complete delight of Chambres d'Amis.

dottie angel day

dottie angel day by wood & wool stool
dottie angel day, a photo by wood & wool stool on Flickr.

Today the postman
brought something special,
thé Dottie Angel book!
My heart was beating faster,
when opening the envelope
reading the super sweet note from Tif...
Long awaited,
and at last I can hold it myself
and browse
and view
and read.
Within a glance, I recognize Tif in every tiny detail;
it's beyond 'perfectly peachy'

Today is officially
dottie-angel-day
and I'm gonna settle on the couch
to enjoy every single page!

global happy hangers exchange

When I discovered Dottie Angels happy hangers last week, I went straight to her Etsy shop to buy one. Not even one hangers in the shop so I wrote Tif a little note about it and she replied and suggested to exchange happy hangers!

What a wonderful swap idea. So currently two happy hangers are passing eachother somewhere above the ocean.

Imagine this pretty orange & pink happy hanger will soon be mine and this wood & wool hanger in the pattern of Dottie Angel's first stool is shipped with some small bird whistles to my dear friend. (unfortunately the windup jumping hare did not fit in the envelope Tif, but I promise to send it to you next time)

soul sister stools

soul sister stools, originally uploaded by wood & wool stool.

Some time ago I received a request from Tif to make two more stools to join her others. She asked for two similar stools with a beautifully detailed description, including little orange border.

In her blog Dottie Angel (we're talking about a blog far beyond blogging) already confessed her addiction and even called herself a stoolaholic.

I felt a little embarrassed, for Tif had to wait quite a few weeks already, because of the 'huge' amount of orders I received recently.

While reading the post about her addiction I wrote a comment, to reassure Tif I was actually working on her covers and stools and they soon would arrive at the Mossy Shed.

Than something angelic happened. Tif asked me to send one stool to her best friend Debbie in the UK and the other one to the US, with the following statement; so they both have matching stools beside them as they crochet in the evenings, separated by miles and miles.

After nearly 30 years of being soul sisters, that's definitely a grand way to celebrate their lasting friendship and it's an incredibly sweet gesture of this angel!

gooD mooD

gooD mooD, originally uploaded by wood & wool stool.

It is quite an honour being a guest in her weekly 'friday with an illustration' blog Nitinha. Artist, painter and interior designer Anita Damas of gooD mooD factory has made an illustration of me and my work and this masterpiece certainly brought me in a very good mood.

The details of this piece of art are striking and stunning; my Kronan bike and stools are very similar. Even the way I put my feet are so me and I love the dress with Villa Augustus logo and will suggest the design as a new spring outfit!

I know Anita for a while and we actually met through Flickr and I became a fan of her work and photography. She lives with her family in Brasil and her little boy Ivo is so adorable!

I'm touched by this gift of a friend I have never actually met and lives on the other side of the world. Gracias Anita!

overnight stay in lommel

Last week I stayed for two days at Yvonne's.

We always have fun and time flies when we are together and I was in for a short break...So I traveled down to my friend in Belgium. Yvonne lives with her husband Boris and cat BooBoo in a wonderful old house with lots of nice rooms and corners. The property is huge and they are busy renovating it room by room. Last time I went over the study and tv room didn't even exist yet and now they are transformed into beautiful bright rooms. The study is an inspiring place and you really want to stay in that room "for like ever". I can easily imagine Yvonne sometimes is glued to her Mac overthere.

I also love the charming bathroom with black and pale yellow tiles and the stained glass windows.

At night we watched the delightful and sweet movie Danny Deckchair in the lovely tv room. Armed with chips & crochet.

Next day we went to Turnhout and we touched almost anything in the wonderful shop Dille & Kamille.

On our way back we visited a great garden center where I bought an English chestnut fencing and some Dahlia bulbs in the most vivid colors.

After eating real Belgian fries together, I went back home.
I've enjoyed two lovely days in Lommel. Thank you Yvonne & Boris!
