colorful & personal gift

februari 2024 februari 2024 februari 2024

This cool colorful blanket i recently made for Imme, the adorable son of my niece Afra from London. It's becoming a tradition, because I once made a harlequin blanket for his sister Mika. (obviously several blankets voor Liam)

And there is another grand-nephew in the family on the way, so i'm about to crochet a new baby blanket project. It's is a relaxed and fun job and if I'm lucky I can do some crochet in the March sunshine in the garden.

If you want to make an original handmade maternity gift (or baby birthday gift), you can download the striped baby blanket crochet pattern from my E T S Y shop.

the tiny orange mini cooper

orange mini cooper - tiny christmas project orange mini cooper - tiny christmas project 1st of august 2023 orange mini cooper - tiny christmas project

The tiny orange Mini Cooper. This weeks cool crochet project.

Pippa asked if I wanted to make a traditional Christmas sweater for Liam.

So I knitted a tiny tweed spencer and I made a crochet version of our orange Mini Cooper, which he thinks is a really cool car!

psychedelic pillow

handmade woodwoolstool chevron pillow

Another unfinished project done.

The first stitches of this pillow I made last month and in the meantime I have made a mini collection of fingerless mittens.
This multicolored chevron pillow including innerpillow is now available in my ETSY SHOP.

The cushion has two different sides; the front side with multicolored (dark brown, rusty brown, orange brown, royal blue, lilac, dusty pink and ocher yellow, bright yellow, red, burgundy red, sand, turquoise and off white) chevron stripes and the back side in off white.

Would you rather make one yourself?
You can download the chevron pillow pattern in my ETSY SHOP too.

diagonal striped fingerless mittens - crochet pattern

diagonal striped mittens - crochet pattern diagonal striped mittens - crochet pattern

A new project on my crochet hook; fingerless mittens in a cool colorbination.

Earlier this year I made a similar pair in black & white tweed yarn.

This time I'm making a colorful variant, with lilac and orange-brown yarn.

The first one I've crocheted in no time and because it turned out surprisingly cool, I wanted to share it with you straight away, even before I'm starting the second one.

If you want to make the diagonal striped mittens yourself, you can download the crochet pattern in my Etsy shop.

It's available a DUTCH and ENGLISH version.

A fast, fun and easy crochet project.
The fingerless mittens are very practical, warm and unisex.
You can make the mittens from yarn leftovers, as you will need very little yarn for this project.

Moreover, it's an excellent handmade December gift. Everyone likes to get a handmade gift!

for loïs

loïs lois

Loïs. Born on the 6th of July.

Sweet and beautiful baby girl of my friend Marieke.

Today we visited Loïs for the first time. She is so cute!

I know for sure that Lois will grow up with the love for gardens and flowers, because my friend Marieke shares my passion for flowers, plants and gardening. So I bought the smallest straw hat for her future little helper in the garden and embroidered her name on it.

... and needless to say I made a baby waistcoat*.

><((('> fish scrubbers

Super cute souvenir from New York, practically flat, because it had to fit in the hand luggage suitcase.

I found the crocheted fish at Anthropologie

A friend and former cool crochet workhsop participant, spotted my fish post on Instagram.

><((('> fish scrubbers

She was inspired to crochet these fish scrubbers after seeing the pair of fish and she happened to find a crochet pattern. @1dogwoof wrote up a pattern for the fish scrubbers a few years back. You can find the free pattern on her blog.

And check the fishes my friend @haveeweanywool made HERE.

Don't you think they are cute?

By the way, I use them as pot holders...
