addio napoli, ciao salerno!
Salerno - Wednesday 5th of June - 13648 steps
Witnessing the last sunrise at the Vesuvio around 5am.
After enjoying the last espresso and Vesuvius breakfast in Naples, we took the high-speed Trenitalia train from Naples CS to Salerno.
Salerno is the ideal city as a base for exploring the Amalfi Coast to discover one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world, unspoilt nature, beautiful beaches and charming villages.
Barely an hour later, we walked to our apartment in the historic center and when we opened the door we immediately felt at home. Mega high ceilings, old murals, plenty of space and classy italian interior, with two high French doors leading to the balcony with a fabulous view of the Gulf of Salerno.
After settling in we went to the local supermarket to fill our fridge with some delicious Italian food! In a little while we will celebrate the first lunch in our casa. The streets of the old city center have a wonderful atmosphere and it is so quiet here, we are going to have a great time here, we feel that right away as we explore our neighborhood. After lunch we go outside again to discover La bellezza italiana that Salerno has to offer.
We visit the duomo and there is a lot of beautiful street art to admire.
After a relaxing break at home we have a dinner at Le Ostinate al Duomo, on a small square with a books/antique shop and another bar with tiny terrace of 4 chairs. Fantastico!

cold crisp day
We cycled to town for a coffee to go and pastel de nata at Nobel's Brood this morning.
On the first really cold and crisp day, warm wool mittens were no luxury on the bike.
The first handmade pairs of the diagonal striped mittens collection are ready. (only have to weave in the loose ends, the least fun part)
The black & white tweed yarn mittens, like the ones i'm wearing, and another antracite grey & white tweed yarn pair, are already for sale in my Etsy shop.
The rest of the tiny collection ready-made fingerless mittens, will be added soon.
I'm an addict of woolen winter accessories; throw in a beanie, mittens and scarf and i’m good to go. How about you?

residence dordrecht
Dordrecht, Sunday 10th of November.
A sunny Sunday afternoon walk through the beautiful old town of Dordrecht. For the second time this week we are lucky to enjoy the sun on the terrace!
Autumn is my preferred season when it comes to clothing. Bring on that winter wardrobe anew. Cardigans, coats, sweaters and I borrowed a beanie from my Etsy shop.
