Under the Gunn rehash: the finale!

Fresh air! Sunshine! Warmer temperatures! Time to pull out all my dresses and work on my tan. If you're in the southern hemisphere, well, sorry. Just know that we have suffered greatly (in the US anyway) this winter.

Spoilers ahead...

Things I loved:

I must be getting soft in my old age because I loved seeing everyone with their families. It's such a double-edged sword, it can encourage designers or take them off their game. But for people like Shan, who are working FOR their families, I think it helps.

Seeing designers from older seasons always makes me happy.

Shan's sons falling asleep during the fashion show. Ha!

Heidi!

Things I hated:

Seeing the models get their eyebrows waxed. Ewww...

It kind of sucked that we didn't get to spend more time watching the designers build their collections. No home visits. Boo.

Favorite garment(s):

Dying for Sam's kimono top. Online it looks like a sweater knit?

Everything Shan made. Screw the judges.

Least favorite garment:

I really disliked Asha's striped textile. It looked like it was meant for pillows. Y'know, the extra ones you keep on the bed and throw on the floor every night.

I didn't understand the story behind Oscar's collection. Women? That's the story? Oh my...I sound like one of the judges. #fashionsnob

Best line of the night:

"I was getting 1920s/40s circus couture." --Neil Patrick Harris

The final runway show was good, I was surprised at the quality of the clothing. I have mixed feelings about Oscar winning. He has the skills, but sometimes he's all over the place. He IS the only one who thought about making his collection a SHOW, which I do think is important for a finale. I was just sort of meh on his stuff because it didn't feel cohesive to me. I still think "his woman" is 40, which isn't a big deal except for how PR has handle that kind of thing before.

I loved Sam's clothes, but it was certainly very RTW. I think Rachel Roy was right, if he pushes himself out of that every now and then, he may be surprised to find that he likes it.

One thing I do NOT have mixed feelings about: Nick winning as a mentor. How 'bout them apples, Anya and Mondo?

So that wraps up the first season of Under the Gunn. I'm sure I'll watch if there's another...the quality of these kinds of shows is more dependent on the designers than on the format of the show. Although I can't help but feel like these guys were the rejects from PR. Speaking of PR, come back soon, okay?!

Under the Gunn rehash!

It's amazing how little you get done when you have a sick toddler. Unless you count watching every animated movie on Netflix as "getting something done". Earlier this week it was 70 degrees, sunny, and we went to a nearby state park for the afternoon. It was glorious and a downright perfect day...until AB started barfing right in the middle of watching Beauty and the Beast. Watching Under the Gunn last night was a nice break from washing every blanket and towel that we own!

Spoilers ahead...

Things I loved:

Shan talking to his wife. Let's say it together: "awwwwwww".

Things I hated:

Asha isn't "a chiffon expert" who has a target on her back in terms of construction...uhhh...maybe she shouldn't use it then? By the way, I got some chiffon yesterday and I have no idea what to do with it. Ideas?

The stupid twist at the end to keep Asha and Sam. BOOOOOOO.

Favorite garment(s):

The designs continue to bore me. But Shan's was cool without the skirt. And was Anya wearing the same fabric as Shan's dress? That was weird.

Least favorite garment:

I told myself that Asha's chiffon would be disastrous...but actually it looked lovely. I didn't like her pants, however.

Oscar's was a costume. There, I said it. Just because some actress says she'd wear it in Paris doesn't mean she SHOULD. Also, if this were the real Project Runway, Nina and Zac would DESTROY Oscar for making a costume. These judges are soft.

Best line of the night:

Oscar's crazy quote about the final competition being Chernobyl and a bomb and all kinds of crazy things all at once. Sorry...I could barely understand it the first time!

As I said, I hated them keeping Asha and Sam. Let me rephrase that: I hated them keeping Asha. When Tim said that Sam was going through, I yelled at my TV and told Asha that it was karma for what she did to Natalia...and then they put Asha through. And my husband told me I had the bad karma. We'll see.

Next week: the finale! Heidi!

Under the Gunn rehash!

I wonder what the designers on these shows do when they lose their sew-jo (get eliminated?!). I usually sew every day, but there are some days where I just can't be bothered. Surely these guys feel that way? When I don't feel like sewing, I sketch or plan or cut or prewash fabric. Can't get away with that on this show! (Has anyone else ever wondered about the lack of prewashing? Don't some fabrics shrink when they steam them? #sewingquestions)

Spoilers ahead...

Things I loved:

I don't believe for a second that the designers were randomly paired with their clients, but I don't care. I like it better when they generally mesh well or their styles work together.

Shan keeping his cool. Can you imagine what any other designer would have done, if faced with his obstacles? Half of them would have demanded special treatment or extra time (I would have...)

Things I hated:

I don't want to go on a huge rant here...but the phrase "real women" drives me bonkers. Unless a model is a robot, then she's a real woman. I would much prefer the term "average woman" or, even better, no special terms at all!

Ummm...Anya was wearing a see-through top without a bra. WHAT?! Am I the only one who finds this disturbing?!

Favorite garment(s):

It's been a couple weeks now since I've seen a garment I loved. Oscar's was beautiful but deserved all the criticism it received.

Least favorite garment:

Blake's was bad. I felt sorry for his client. I felt bad for Blake! We've all fallen victim to the lure of beautiful fabric that doesn't work later. Sometimes I stop and ask myself "is this a garment or do you really just wish it could be curtains?"

Asha's looked tortured to me. I don't understand why she keeps attempting these complicated designs if her construction skills prevent the proper execution.

Best line of the night:

(If you watched the episode then you already know the best line, hands down.)
"Sort of like tips for tits." --Tim Gunn

Is it just me, or have the eliminations been pretty predictable up to this point? Next week is going to be difficult. I think Shan will get through to the final show for sure, and before this week I would have said Sam too, but he seems to be losing favor with the judges.

Next week...comic books?

Under the Gunn rehash!

We had some serious TV dilemmas in our house last night. It's March Madness, otherwise known as the "best days in the entire year" according to my husband. Oh, and did I mention we only have 1 television? (Thanksnothanks lightning strike from last summer). Thank goodness for live streaming on my iPad! This episode was worth watching live. I admit that the team pairings were super intriguing and I was more than a little sucked in by the drama.

Spoilers ahead...

Things I loved:

I liked Sam and the other guy designers joking around. It seemed good-natured. I'm sure they need relaxing banter in these kinds of stressful situations. Maybe Asha should take the hint?

Oh! And more Sam love. When he said he made an effort to get over his negative feelings towards Natalia, and now he's seen the light...can I just be his best friend?

Oscar's runway speech about giving Shan the win because he has three kids...seriously, I almost teared up.

Umm...Natalia throwing herself under the bus. WHAT? And the person driving the bus wanted to run over her? I don't love this because of Asha, I love it because Natalia showed herself to be a GOOD PERSON, which Asha did not. Some things are more important than advancing through the next round of a stupid TV show, and Natalia understood that. Asha, I hope she haunts your dreams at night.

Things I hated:

Asha. Do I have to say anymore? What a big baby. "I'm being positive." Fake smile. Fake attitude. Real hate. How offensive! Like Natalia is some hardship to be endured? I now no longer care what happens to Asha on this show. She decided before she started that it would be a disaster and totally self-sabotaged (and team-sabotaged). I mean really, who doesn't know that you should SHARE when you're on a team, including sharing decisions and fabric and whatever else? It was all so selfish. I almost barfed when she started crying on the runway.

Favorite garment(s):

I think all of these garments were more...bohemian...than I typically like, but that said I want to wear Shan's blazer every day forever.

Least favorite garment:

Sam was right...every girl already owns Oscar's winning dress. But that's not what the challenge was about, was it?

Asha and Natalia's stuff was just terrible.

Best line of the night:

"Does anyone want to check my blood pressure?" --Tim

I was disappointed in the way this episode turned out, but we're down to the last few designers so somebody had to go. I'm rooting for Sam and Shan all the way.

Next week: umm...I forgot.

Under the Gunn rehash

Yesterday AB skipped her afternoon nap for the first time in...probably ever. She's still adjusting from daylight savings. So by the time Under the Gunn rolled around last night, I was ready for it, vino in hand!

Spoilers ahead...

Things I loved:

If you're going to have some ridiculous product tie-in, please continue to mention it once at the beginning of the episode, and then forget about it! I can deal with that.

Mood is on my bucket list. Every time I see it on this show I drool a little.

Things I hated:

Anya and Mondo were insufferable. And I generally like them. Here's a tip I learned once I became a parent: as cute as YOU think your child is, nobody else cares. You're allowed to be a cheerleader for your own child, but I don't need to see a picture of them on Facebook potty-training. And I definitely don't need anyone else's unsolicited advice. My point is: Mondo and Anya were completely out of line to pick on Natalia. They should have focused on the positives in their own designers, instead of putting down someone else. And ANYA of all people should NEVER criticize someone's construction. The whole thing was disgusting, and I hope Tim tells them to get their acts together and be more professional. And what was the point of bitching to Nick? What was he going to say? "Oh, you guys are right, Natalia sucks. I better tell her to go home voluntarily. Thanks for the heads up."

Favorite garment(s):

I didn't love anything from last night, really. I would have rather the designers had two days and made two different looks, or more pieces. But Natalia's was the only one that actually worked in both day and night.

Least favorite garment:

Wow Asha's was bad. The silhouettes were both bizarre, it was poorly made, and it barely transformed. By the way, what kind of daytime activity can you do with a top cut to your navel? Don't answer that.

Michelle's was so boring that I can't believe Mondo let her forge ahead with it. The only interesting detail was her Star Trek shoulders (again).

I'm missing something about Oscar's designs. I thought his bordered on costume with all the sequins, though I mostly did buy the story he was telling about his girl.

Best line of the night:

"Normally the workroom smells like fear and sweat." --Blake

I was pretty happy to see Michelle leave. Her last few designs have been dull, and I kind of blame Mondo for that. It seemed like he went a bit too hands-off with her. Plus she's mean. Oscar's win was a little unexpected (hey, I just noticed that they've never given out immunity on this show...hmmm...) because I question his taste. We'll see how it goes. Each mentor appears to have one judge favorite (Asha, Shan, Oscar) and it's going to get dicey from here on out.

Next week: pairs. Inevitable drama. True colors emerging. Who will be nice and who will be a bully?

Under the Gunn rehash!

A lot of the time, I DVR part or all of Under the Gunn and watch it the next day, thereby skipping the commercials. Last night I watched it in real-time, and now I must buy a new toothbrush and Swiffer. Well done advertisers. You got me.

Spoilers ahead...

Things I loved:

Tim in flip-flops!

Oscar ripped his pants. Heehee. I wonder if he patched them with a beach ball when he got back to the workroom?

You know what I noticed? LOTS of PR designers say that they don't normally work with prints. And yet home-sewists ALWAYS sew prints. I'm still struggling with this post in the Wardrobe Architect series about prints. If professional designers often shy away from them, maybe I should start re-evaluating my own use?

Nick's convoluted sports metaphor to Oscar was hilarious. The 9th inning of football?

Things I hated:

I was really annoyed at Anya's little rant in the opening of the episode. She claims she sat next to Nicholas for 15 hours and so she knows he didn't work hard enough. Ummm...maybe he felt weird having you hovering over him? And it affected his work? Did you ever think of that Anya? No. Of course not.

I am so. over. Michelle. She gives off a very uppity vibe. You can be confident in yourself without putting other people down to do so.

Favorite garment(s):

I loved Sam's. His bikini top looked like a real swimsuit.

I liked Asha's textile, but I felt like I'd seen her silhouette and style lines before (from her).

Shan made an adorable romper. No love for him from the judges.

Least favorite garment:

Michelle's was no good. When has anyone used shiny plastic in an unconventional challenge and gotten away with it? The answer is never (see: Stephanie).

Best line of the night:

"Do I look like a surf, sand, sun kind of guy? I'm, like, Wednesday Adams as a boy." --Blake

"Mondo is giving me his 'scrap-it' face, which is in between nausea and disappointment." --Sam

Stephanie's elimination wasn't a surprise, but I blame Nick. She asked him directly if her textile looked cheap, and he said no (and Tim said nothing). Then the judges told her it looked cheap. C'mon Nick! You told Oscar to bail on his bad ideas, but not Stephanie? I don't know. I think she got a raw deal from her mentor.

Next week: Transformers and mentor bickering!

Under the Gunn rehash!

Did you miss me last week? A team challenge and nobody went home? And ANOTHER movie tie-in challenge? Looks like I chose the right week to skip a recap! You know how I feel about episodes when everyone stays (like it's a waste of time). Let's see if this week is any better!

Spoilers ahead...

Things I loved:

A two-day challenge! The designers weren't the only ones happy about that.

Tim's plaid suit jacket that he was wearing in the opening was adorable.

Things I hated:

I didn't like Shan's self-negativity. Poor guy. I'm rooting for him and want him to do well.

I thought Anya's frustration was understandable, but all I heard out of her mouth was "I...I...I". "I can't help..." "I'm frustrated with you..." And when she asked Nicholas if he actually made the garments in his portfolio?? How disrespectful! From Anya of all people! (Remember when she showed up to her PR audition with pieces that she "designed" but didn't make?) Anya, you picked the wrong designer when you had to choose, but that's not Nicholas' fault, it's YOUR fault. Ugh. I like Anya, but the whole thing annoyed me to no end. She turned into a micro-managing Nick-monster.

And maybe I'm wrong, but it's hard to take Anya seriously when she's wearing a see-through shirt or a dress cut down to her navel.

Favorite garment(s):

For all his struggles, Shan nailed it. I want to be that ninja leather lady in the future-past!

Nick's designers impressed me. Oscar's was totally over-the-top, which is acceptable to me only in an avant-garde challenge. Natalia's ended up being pretty darn cool, with or without the gimmick.

Least favorite garment:

Asha's "schizophrenic in a good way" design seemed the opposite to me. I didn't like the plaid and lace. Maybe if the lace wasn't pink?

Michelle. Didn't we already have the vampire challenge?

Best line of the night:

"(Oscar) just doesn't seem to think that any decision he could make right now is a bad decision, which is a terrible way to think for a fashion designer." --Sam   I disagree with this statement. In a competition show that focuses on working with a time limit, if you start doubting your decisions you're screwed. I might also still be contemplating this article that Sarai posted last week (so good!).

"You can't run a car into a pothole and expect that you don't have to do maintenance on it." --Nicholas  I think he's right, but I also run into potholes all the time. And you know I'm not doing car maintenance! (Sorry hubby...)

To be honest, I'm having trouble differentiating Nicholas and Blake. If you quizzed me on who made what, I'd probably lose. So either one could have gone home without bothering me. Don't even get me started on Anya being allowed to choose again.

I think Natalia deserved to win. As much as I liked Shan's garment, Natalia's was way more avant-garde. Ah well, it's a matter of taste, as Tim would say.

Next week: unconventional beachwear? What a terrible idea for a challenge. Let me guess, it's sponsored by Coppertone or Sharknado 2.

Under the Gunn rehash!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Looks like we've got more snow coming, so we'll be staying in and cooking up some steaks. Yum!

Spoilers ahead...

Things I loved:

I liked Blake's honesty with Anya. I think some designers get overwhelmed and just freak out (ELENA) when instead they should say "hey, mentor, I need help" in a calm voice.

Shan had a leather jacket done by the time of his consultation? Are you kidding me? He's crazy fast!

I liked that Asha tried to help Isabelle. I admire contestants that can think of others in the midst of doing this kind of crazy competition show.

Things I hated:

I went back and forth between being mad at Nick for being so overbearing, and wondering why Isabelle came on a show about mentoring. If she identifies herself as stubborn and doesn't want to listen to anyone...well...she's on the wrong show.

Uhh...they changed models? Suddenly Sam's cute girl was with Michelle.

Favorite garment(s):

I didn't love any of these. The only...thing...out there that I liked was Shan's jacket, but I didn't think it looked right with the leggings.

Least favorite garment:

Oh my. Oscar. Was this challenge for Cher, 30 years ago?

Stephanie's looked like a Ninja Turtle.

Best line of the night:

"It looks like...ice skater prostitute." --Sam

"Well, we're past tough love with Isabelle." --Tim

"I could never throw one of my designers under the bus like that." --Anya (except when she did it last week!!)

Phew...Isabelle is gone. She should have been disqualified the last two challenges, anyway. Asha's win was well-deserved, she had the most unique look and one of the few that was age-appropriate. So that makes three wins in a row for Mondo, right?

Next week...the unsurprising implosion of Nick's team.

Under the Gunn rehash!

I've taken the last two or three days off from sewing and I'm about to go crazy from it. I might be addicted. AB's birthday is this weekend, so I've spent my sewing time cleaning the house and doing bloggy stuff that I might normally do on the weekends. The result? A cleanish house (not gonna lie, I suck at cleaning) and an itchy feeling in my fingers. I should at least go rearrange my stash or something in order to make myself feel better! It was definitely nice to relax and watch Under the Gunn to get back into my sewing brain.

Spoilers ahead...

Things I loved:

An "unconventional" challenge...with fabric! I pretty much hate the usual unconventional stuff (it must be popular with people who don't sew). I thought it was cool that they had to choose fabric in the dark. Obviously color palettes are important, but I always shop with my hands. I've learned a lot about fabric by feel.

Things I hated:

Vampires? Really? I've over these challenges with the silly movie/TV tie-ins. It's not even October. The whole thing felt incredibly forced.

Mondo struggling. Watching this episode, I started to see why someone like Tim makes a good mentor. As far as I know, he doesn't design his own clothing, so he can be objective. I think Mondo was used to giving feedback based on his own visceral reaction, which isn't necessarily helpful to his team.

Asha and Michelle's conversation was odd.

I know this show is only an hour long, but I shouldn't completely forget about half the designers until their models come down the runway.

Favorite garment(s):

Loved Shan's again. I guess he wasn't anywhere near the top because he didn't use unconventional materials (that I could see, anyway)?

Asha's was fun, but the headdress took it too far for me.

Least favorite garment:

Michelle's look was icky. I hate exaggerated hips and it's NOT original. Hello again Elena.

Nicholas's brown trash bag was...oh sorry, I fell asleep while I was looking at the photo.

Best line of the night:

(deadpan) "It's a roller coaster of emotions." --Nicholas

Did Isabelle understand anything the judges were saying? It's hard enough for me to get what they're saying and I'm a native speaker. Also, I think it's HILARIOUS that the judges leave the room in order to deliberate. You know Nina and Heidi aren't leaving their seats for anyone!

Okay, this elimination...Anya blatantly sabotaged Brady. "Mean Girls with vampires" directly speaks to a junior vibe, but for some reason she pushed him away from that. And then given a chance to save him, to redeem herself, she threw him under the bus! Whhhaaaa? So wrong. I don't know what she sees in Nicholas's portfolio, but he made a poop-brown sack and should have gone home for it.

Next week: Isabelle doesn't finish! Again!

Under the Gunn rehash!

Woohoo, we made it to the end of January! Good riddance to bad rubbish. Now on to the best month of the whole year, February (and no, I'm not being sarcastic). Just so you know, it's basically one holiday a week around here. AB's birthday is February 9th (she's TWO, WHAT?), Valentine's Day is the 14th, and my birthday is the 25th. Basically, we eat cake for an entire month. And my husband buys lots of presents. And the weather can't possibly be any worse than it was in January, so there's nowhere to go but up!

Plus, there's Under the Gunn to watch! Spoilers ahead...

Things I loved:

I'm happy the challenge was so generic. I think broad challenges allow the designers to show themselves a lot better than narrowly-focused ones. That said, I watched this episode twice, and both times I forgot to listen to Zanna describing the actual challenge. Whoops. Hollywood something or other?

Anya's plaid shirt and short shorts. That's how you rock a plaid shirt in a sexy way.

I didn't know Mood LA had a doggie, too!

Things I hated:

Wow, Tim really has to keep a handle on things here. Why is everybody breaking the rules? Mentors AND designers!

I was sooooo disappointed with Nick this episode. If I were a mentor on a show named for Tim Gunn, I would be doing my darndest to completely copy Tim Gunn. And he's NEVER sketched for someone or been anywhere near as talkative as Nick. Dude, get a grip!

Favorite garment(s):

I loved Sam's, again. And seriously, how lucky is he to have a model that seems to perfectly fit his vision?

Shan...wow. I could see it on a red carpet, easily. I would never wear it, but it was so cool!

Least favorite garment:

Stephanie/what's her name? ugh. Ugggggggg-ly. Tortured. Remember when Zanna said on All-Stars that green is never on a magazine cover? I can't stop thinking about that. And y'know what? All of Nick's designer's clothes looked terrible. Apparently those girls were going to the Oscars to take a nap, and all the other girls were going to have fun at the Grammys.

I agreed with Tim about Michelle's...that triangle was very poorly placed.

Best line of the night:

"I work off motivation, and I'm feeling motivated, so I have to just go with it." --Shan

Okay, how brilliant is that statement?

I was surprised that Camilla was "sent home" (seriously, how hard would it be NOT to say "out"??). Camilla's looked far less obnoxious than Stephanie's. I saw a lot of bad prom dresses on that runway, but a simple, pretty dress was the worst? I don't get it. Not sure how I feel about these judges if that's how they think. You already know how I feel about Zanna as a mentor!

Next week: unconventional challenge. BOOOOO!

Friday, January 24, 2014

Under the Gunn rehash!

Hmmmm I'm digging this show! It has characteristics from Project Runway but enough new stuff that the mix is comforting but fresh. What do you think? Do you like this show so far?

Spoilers ahead...

Things I loved:

I was glad that they didn't do the same challenge as last week. If I had to see that black jersey and gold fabric again I was going to scream.

I liked forceful Tim yelling at Isabella. I'm surprised she didn't get disqualified.

Things I hated:

I'm with Sam. Muslins? Draping for an hour? You have to make a decision and move on! I hope that Stephanie wasn't offended when he told her that a model with no skirt was worse than making a decision. He's right!

Favorite garment(s):

I liked Sam's. So sue me. His model was perfect for his look and I completely understood his girl.

Stephanie's dress was cute (although it didn't fit her model) but understated, as Mondo said. And y'know what? I don't think she should design a bunch of "fuchsia dresses" if that's not her thing. Am I wrong about that? Is being on this show worth it if you have to go so far out of your aesthetic? I suppose there's a difference between challenging yourself and changing yourself, and it will be the job of the mentors to walk that line.

Least favorite garment:

Amy. Oh my. I was shocked that the judges liked her fabric choice and didn't hate her design. Here's the thing I've noticed with older designers on these fashion TV shows. It seems like they're designing for their daughters. Like, here's a dress that I think my 20 year old wants to wear. Except my 20 year old is perpetually 15 in my mind. I thought Amy's dress looked very teen, very prom. Ick. It might have been better in a different fabric.

Best line of the night:

(Deadpan) "I'm so excited to work in a room that's clean. --Nicholas

(Straight face) "I design for career-oriented sluts."--Rey

"If they're not looking for funky...I'm funked." --Sam

Whoa. Nick's team is a hot mess. I guess he's lucky that he has so much experience teaching, we'll see just how good of a mentor he is!

Anya's team is all boys. Interesting. Especially since there were so many women designers who wanted her to be their mentor.

I have a hard time seeing Mondo as a leader. He seems like a loner. I'm interested in seeing how he does with a group looking up to him.

Tasia is reviewing 110 Creations: A Sewist's Notebook today over at Sewaholic. Go take a peek!

Under the Gunn rehash!

Did you watch Tim Gunn's new show last night? Me neither. I watched it this afternoon ;)

This show is already very intriguing to me. It's not quite as simple as "I like that designer, I hope they do well". I think we all like Mondo, Anya, and Nick. Do we root for them, or the new designers? And do the mentors go all Survivor-style, and choose designers that they think can win, or people they like, or aesthetics they like? Interesting.

First episode spoilers ahead...

Things I loved:

I like the show being in LA. Maybe I've been seeing too much snow here in the Midwest (SUMMER COME SOON PLEASE!).

I'm glad it's not a team competition, per se. I thought, from the previews, that was how it was going to be. And nobody likes teams.

I was very happy to see Tim again. Seems like it's been a long time since he's been on my TV.

Things I hated:

Anya looked TIRED. Poor thing. The show is just starting.

The fabrics that the designers were given were straight awful. Very love-it-or-hate-it. No surprise that everyone was using black jersey. I use black jersey in almost everything.

I didn't like that people were not picking Nick. I think the designers were greatly underestimating his value as an already-established teacher, and were choosing mentors based on who was similar to them. Just because your aesthetics are different doesn't mean you can't learn from someone.

Favorite garment(s):

I love Shan already. A family man who took a layoff as a push for his dreams? And he made a jacket in two hours? Losing my mind.

Brady's was cool. And he's already branding himself? Smart.

Least favorite garment:

Oscar's gold costume...oh my. I can't believe Nick picked him, but I think it shows how confident Nick is in his mentoring abilities.

I'm exhausted by Natalia already. And her dress was WAY too short. BUT. I give her credit for her "tenacity" as Tim called it. I think we all want to believe that passion pays off, and in this case it obviously did.

Uhhh...so far Nick has Natalia and Oscar. WUH?! Trainwreck.

Best line of the night:

"It's just running with the scissors into the fabric." --Oscar

Wow, the end of this show was really hard to watch. Schoolyard team picking on both sides! Designers not picked, mentors not picked! Fashion is rough. But overall, I like the show so far. We'll see how it goes when the teams are settled and competing.
