A vinyl version of Ape Uprising will be released by end of April by German label Iron Kodex, in a limited edition of 666 copies.

Sunn O))) Releases Details on New Album
SUNN O))) is proud to present their seventh studio album, after ten years of existence, entitled Monoliths and Dimensions. The album showcases the core guitar duo - Stephen O`Malley and Greg Anderson - incorporating influences from a plethora of guest musicians, bringing the SUNN O))) sound to epic new levels. The band also collaborated with composer Eyvind Kang (notable for his work with JOHN ZORN, MARC RIBOT, BILL FRISELL, etc.) on various acoustic ensembles, in addition to the Helios fueled electric guitars and basses. Key players on the album include Australian guitar genius Oren Ambarchi, enigmatic Hungarian vocalist Attila Csihar (MAYHEM, TORMENTOR, etc.) and slow music godfather Dylan Carlson (EARTH), as well as Julian Priester (worked with SUN RA in the 50s, JOHN COLTRANe`s African Brass band, and HERBIE HANCOCK`s Sextant band) and new-music horn player Stuart Dempster. There`s also an upright bass trio, French and English horns, harp and flute duo, piano, brass, reed and strings ensembles, and a Viennese woman`s choir led by Persian vocal savant Jessika Kenney.
The album is not "SUNN O))) with strings" or "metal meets orchestra" material. The band took an approach concentrating on more of allusion toward the timbre of feedback and the instruments involved, so the piece is really illusory, beautiful and not entirely linear, stating that the end product is "the most musical piece we`ve done, and also the heaviest, powerful and most abstract set of chords we`ve laid to tape" The album was recorded and mixed by Randall Dunn and Mell Dettmer at various points over the last two years, and will be released late May 2008. Monoliths and Dimensions is practice in density, gravity and momentum.
With honor, SUNN O))) is announcing four live performances in Japan, to recognize the tenth anniversary of SUNN O)))’s creation, and to coincide with the recording of the first album, The GrimmRobe Demos. SUNN O)) will be playing material from GrimmRobes exclusively. It will be a return to their primal origins, and approach respecting a concept of shoshin , the beginner’s mind, the yet undyed pure wool, the clarity in initiation upon the untraveled. The attitude of embodying the basics precisely, point by point, line by line, with an immovable faith in the teaching, experience and of beyond the possibility. Of openness, eagerness, and lack of preconceptions when approaching, even with much experience, just as a beginner would upon the initial impetus and thirst to seek the path. And so, with this mindset, they will be approaching these live concerts. Pure, raw, uninhibited invocations featuring O)))s core members: Stephen O’Malley and Greg Anderson ONLY. Two Les Paul guitars, four Sunn fullstacks, four Ampeg bass stacks. No guests, no vocals, no keyboards. We hope you will join us!
SUNN O))) will also be playing the Leave Them All Behind Festival at Ebisu Liquidroom, on Sunday, April 19. The line up is Stephen O’Malley, Greg Anderson and Atsuo from BORIS; this is not Shoshin show but exclusive special arrangement.
4/19 (Sun): Tokyo, Japan – Leave Them All Behind Festival at Liquidroom, with ISIS, BORIS, ENVY, GROWING

EH 006LP: Colour Haze - All DLP
The regular edition is available. Two LPs of 180gr. vinyl, heavy cardboard foldout cover and a nice price
EH 006LP: Colour Haze - All Deluxe DLP
The deluxe edition is in print. It took me longer then expected to get this going, as always... Now there are two printing works and a book-binder involved - we all had to sort out how to do this because also for the printer it`s first time, so this took quite some time of discussing and planning... it`s going to look like this:
* The records are the same as the standard version you can already buy - 180gr. black vinyl high quality pressing. Audiophile cut directly analog from the original mix tapes (sounds much better then the CD).
* The cover will be a book-cardboard cloth binded in linen with impressed gold letters and a real passe portout. Inside of this we`ll glue two covers for the records on which we print the motives you can see in the FOC of the regular DLP and add an extra page (also cardboard) with lyrics and stuff - of course I`ll add handnumbered stickers, the issue is limited to 500 copies.
EH 113: Josiah - Into The Outside
Remastered and limited to 500 copies the second album of UK`s fuzz rock kings is available again reissued by Elektrohasch.
EH 125LP: Causa Sui - Summer Sessions Vol. 1
Causa Sui started a new project in which they`ll release a series of great free psychedelic hippie/stoner/spacerock-improvisations on vinyl only. The first release of this new line is Summer Sessions Vol. 1. Limited and hand numbered edition of 500 copies; of course 180gr. high-quality pressing and heavy sleeve... Don`t miss it!
EH 124: The Kings Of Frog Island - 2
Scheduled to arrive in mid-September is the second album of Mat Bethancourt`s (Josiah) magnificent side-project. If the blues was invented in 2008, it would sound like this! Ten brilliant tracks between blues, gospel, stoner, and doom. An outstanding album. A limited and hand-numbered edition of 500 LPs on 180gr. High quality vinyl will follow in October.
EH 126: My Sleeping Karma
The new album from My Sleeping Karma is going to be released on CD at the Swamp Room Mania. LPs of the new and the first album will follow...
You can listen to a first premastered track here.
Upcoming releases on Elektrohasch
We are working on the re-release of the long sold out first three records by Saturnia (we also plan something on vinyl here) and the sold out first Sgt. Sunshine on CD. Furthermore Elektrohasch is going to release the masterpiece by Los Natas - Ciudad De Brahman - on LP for the first time ever - one of the ten stoner rock classics everybody should own!
We are also working on a DCD + DVD Box featuring this years fantastic Duna Jam happening, which we plan to release in winter. Including live-recordings of Baby Woodrose, Causa Sui, Josiah, Dyse, Rotor, Colour Haze, and more.
I also didn`t forget the Colour Haze live album. When I`ll find the time in autumn I hope I can work on it again and mix the recordings of further shows to complete the audio material...
Additionally (and most probably much earlier) the recording of the Colour Haze show at this years Burg Herzberg Festival - www.burgherzberg-festival.de is going to be released by Herzberg Publishing and will be also available through Elektrohasch.
You`ll find a Live Stream of the complete Colour Haze Rockpalast show here.
Best wishes,
Stefan Koglek

BLACK STONE CHERRY: New Album Details Revealed
Roadrunner Records has set an August 19 release date for "Folklore and Superstition", the new album from Kentucky rockers BLACK STONE CHERRY.
The band, known for crafting blues-infused Southern rawk that sounds as good on the back porch as it does bellowing from Marshall stacks in a packed venue, named its sophomore effort after a distinct tradition from its native region: folklore, story telling and superstitions. "There is a mystique with folklore and superstition," says drummer John Fred Young. "We're intrigued by and interested in history, roots and heritage, and we incorporate that into the band." Bassist Jon Lawhon concurs, "We are taking the Southern tradition and spreading it out to the rest of the world. They say, 'Write what you know,' so that's what we're doing, writing what we know."
On "Folklore and Superstition", BLACK STONE CHERRY incorporates lyrical tales with upbeat riffing and atypical conventions like turkey calls, making it a record that is pleasing as it is unpredictable. The band recorded the album at Black Bird Studios, which is owned and operated by country artist Martina McBride, in Nashville, Tennessee. The album crackles with a down-home, feel good, rock 'n' roll current and was produced and mixed by veteran rock producer Bob Marlette (OZZY OSBOURNE, SALIVA, SEETHER, SHINEDOWN).
The track listing is as follows:
01. Blind Man
02. Please Come In
03. Reverend Wrinkle
04. Soul Creek
05. Things My Father Said
06. The Bitter End
07. Long Sleeves
08. Peace Is Free
09. Devil's Queen
10. The Key
11. You
12. Sunrise
13. Ghost of Floyd Collins
BLACK STONE CHERRY will embark on pre-release touring all summer long.
Arkansas Rocks! Entertainment has posted a video interview with John Fred Young and Ben Wells of Kentucky's BLACK STONE CHERRY conducted by the band's tour bus on April 26, 2008 at Edgefest in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Watch the four-minute clip below.
