John Bunyan
(1628-1688AD)

Engraved by Francis Holll
drawn by Kenneth Macleay R.S.A..
from a rare print after the picture
painted from life
by T. Sadler in 1685.
It has been rightly said of John Bunyan that the reason his
sermons were so popular in a period of great preachers, and his
writings so excellent, is that very few have lived and breathed
the Word of God in the Holy Bible as he did. His writings, full
of grace, are always faithful to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and
it is for this reason that they ought to be read more than ever
in these apostate times.
George
Offor's 3 volume edition of “Bunyan's
Works,” with Offer's marginal notes and footnotes, is probably
the best of all the editions containing all of Bunyan's
writings. It contains some fine engravings too. Along with
writings from this edition, I shall be adding other articles
that in any way edify us about this faithful servant of the
Lord.

Engraved by H. Robinson
after a drawing from life by Robert White,
preserved at the British museum.
