MARY POPPINS - Penguin Dance

Here is the final set of backgrounds I've re-created from MARY POPPINS penguin dance sequence. The clean "stage" is artfully rendered in the chalk drawing style, in keeping with the rest of the "Jolly Holiday" sequence. These beautiful B/Gs are a perfect "set" for the antics of the hyperactive penguins (and Dick Van Dyke). "Ain't it a glorious day!"

When the thundering steps of the elephant "Dawn Patrol" awaken Mowgli, a sleepy Bagheera remains perched in the tree, while the ever-curious "man-cub" makes his way to get a better look. Here's the entire re-created pan B/G. The cloudy skyline appears to be a distant shore shrouded in a morning haze. Only the artist could tell us for sure. But it is certainly another wonderful and intriguing piece of background art from this landmark Disney film.
