Imagine - A Project by Fiona

Hello my beautiful 13Arts friends. Fiona here with you today to share a little project I made using the glorious "Blue Magnolia" collection.

Again I have been experimenting with decorating embroidery hoops. I am really enjoying the experience. i think I'm definitely addicted to this substrate.

After applying a layer of clear gesso over my calico background, I stenciled a section of the image from my 6x6 stencil using white gesso. After it had dried I collaged on a stamped image I had made onto tissue paper onto the background. I used the gel medium to collage it on. With a white gesso base it stood out perfectly.

With LOTS of fussy cutting later I had all the beautiful flowers from the Blue Magnolia collection ready to arrange along with some gorgeous butterfly's to compliment.

I also added a little bit of raw chipboard and some molded angel wings that I colored blue with the Watercolor set. I added a little bit of splash ink in the white and some splashes of colour using some Pastel sprays.

"Enjoy Art be Free" An Art Journal Page By Fiona

Recently I had the absolute pleasure of joining Aida and Olga here in Australia for a massive 13 Arts tour of the country.  You may have seen our antics on Facebook and Instagram .... we had an absolute blast and shared the 13Arts love everywhere we went.

The sun was shining (most of the time) and we laughed the whole way through.

I have to say it was one of the most amazing times I've had with these two gorgeous ladies. I miss them so much already.

So anyway .... here is one of the projects I taught as we toured around. An art journal page with an arty vintage feel to it.

It is all about enjoying art and being free and creative. It incorporates my messy grungy painty style and my latest release "Conversations On Trains".

I've added layers of stenciling and watercolors as well as images from the collection and chipboard.

Everywhere I taught the page was well received and the participants made AMAZING versions of it!

The talented Aussie girls and Boys! all made the most incredible projects from mine, Olga's and Aida's classes.

I really can't wait to do it all again soon when I visit Poland for our 2019 Mixed Media Party retreat!

Thank you so much for popping in and taking a look at my art. I will see you all again very soon xxx

"Creative Mind" A Little Embroidery Hoop By Fiona

Hello my beautiful 13 Arts friends. Today I am here sharing with you a little embroidery hoop I have decorated using some of 13 Arts gorgeous new products.

For all the years I have been scrapbooking you know I have NEVER embellished an embroidery hoop. I know! I have seen so many gorgeous ones online and always thought I'd love to give it a go and so now ... here it is. I think I'm addicted!

I used some patterned paper to cover the base of the hoop and then layered some gauze over the top to give it a shabby look. I also gave the gauze a bit of a tear and grunged it up and then layered some gesso over it to create a shabby chic look.

Layers and layers of fussy cut flowers and feathers made up the main area of the hoops focus point along with a wing that I molded from air dry clay.

I added a wire border and on the bottom layer you may be able to see a little chipboard wreath that I covered with gesso and added some watercolor too.

I love this little treasure. I definitely think I will be making more of these hoops!

"You Are Always in My Heart"

Hello 13 Arts friends. Welcome to 2019! What an amazing year we have lined up for you with new releases, tours and more Face Book Live shows!

But first, here is a little warm up. I created this little journal page while at the beach camping the other weekend. Yep it's summer here in Australia and I am relaxing as much as I can when the sun comes out!

I have a new little old photo album I am using as my art journal and this is the first page I have created in it. I'm loving the rustic black background against the light watercolours and my "Conversations on Trains" collection.

Anything grungy and a bit vintage makes me smile! I've also been exploring some hand stitching lately. I really love the rustic look it gives my art pieces.

And of course I had to add a sticker for my title!

"Today and Tomorrow" Art Journal Page by Fiona

Hello 13 Arts friends, Fiona here with you today to share an art journal page I have created incorporating my "Conversations on Trains" A4 paper collection for 13 Arts.

"Today is the good old times of tomorrow" is the title I have chosen for this old vintage style page.

The Conversations on Trains papers work perfectly with my abstract vintage style. I made them with this kind of art in mind and I am so happy with how they have turned out and how well they compliment my creations.

Teamed up with the 13 Arts paint ranges they work a treat. All the colours blend beautifully and the grungy style is a wonderful background effect for my art journal.

Heartfelt Thanks a little card by Fiona

Hello my beautiful 13 Arts friends. Fiona here with you today to share a little "Heartfelt Thanks" card I have made.

I just love the rusty effect powders and using the reagent solution! The effect is amazing!

I use the multi purpose gel medium as my base, this time through a stencil and then I sprinkle the rusting powder over the top. I then add the reagent solution and set it aside to do it's thing!. When you come back the next day ..... it looks AMAZEBALLS!

I love the rusty effect lately. It matches in perfectly with my "Conversations on Trains" collection which is all vintagy and old ephemera looking. Perfect to go with a rusty effect.

Combined with some color from the Rainbow color range ... also awesome textures!! The whole card comes together as a divine rusty ephemera little art piece!

So much fun.
