I think you are going to love the outcome of the dresser and mirror.
They now look wonderful together.
My son's room I love the turnout!
-The First update was the mirror -
Wood was added to the mirror to beef it up.
For the dresser I stained the wood with a vinegar and steel wool solution and Minwax - Special Walnut wood stain.
The stain was still wet in this picture.
Here I still needed to sand and stain the dresser to match the drawers.
I spray painted the handles with Rustoleum American Accents Metallic.

The dresser now looks old and rustic. Perfect for my son's room.

I used the vinegar solution here too!
I loved the turnout but now the dresser looked horrible!
The dresser had an orange oak type stain. I was using more of a walnut color in the room. I knew I would have to change it.
The mirror is a full length mirror turned sideways.

Do you remember how the wagon wheel lighting looked? I used Rub 'n Buff on it and made the ceiling medallion. I added the glass shades too!
Here is the post on making the ceiling medallion.

I wish the wagon wheel lighting could be lower. My husband is very tall!
He is 6'4" without his shoes on.

It was a lot of hard work but so worth tweaking the mirror and dresser. My son loves the changes.
My next project for the room will be
window treatments. I really think you're going to like them :)
I 'appreciate' all your visits. I can't thank you enough for taking the time to comment.
Thanks so much for following me. You make doing what I do so much more fun. I feel loved!!! Thank You!
