thursday...baby girl card

Good morning! Brrr...it's chilly this morning in Central Florida! My blog was in dire need of an update so I went ahead and did one yesterday! I love this new look and hopefully, it will inspire me to blog more often too since I feel like my blog has been a bit abandoned since the birth of my son almost 2 years ago (where does time go?).

I had a bit of time to myself last night and I decided to make a baby girl card for a friend.

Here's my card:

My card measures 5.5"x5.5" and I used Heartfelt Creations adorable baby stamp and colored ti with Prismacolors and blended them with OMS. I added liquid pearls to the tiny flowers' centers and made them sparkle with stickles. I matted this image on a soft cream colored doily that I die cut using the Cheery Lynn Designs English Tea Party Doily. I just love this doily die!

I made some sweet flowers in pink and fuchsia and added them to my card as well as some green leaves and a pretty pink bow.

Here's one last view of my card.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today and have a wonderful week!

monday...boy Easter card

Today I want to share a sweet Easter card that I made for my son Josiah.

I found the bunny on Pinterest (where else?) and thought he would go so well in a boy Easter card and I was right! He looks adorable sitting among the handmade flowers (Heartfelt Creations) and leaves.

I pop dotted him to give him some dimension and added him over the gorgeous die cut doily by Cheery Lynn Designs (I can't get enough of this doily!). I added clear dew drops to the flowers' centers and used some twine and lace to soften the card up a bit.

Here's one last look at the sweet blue card for my baby boy! This will be his second Easter and he's not even one yet!

I'm entering this card in:

Thanks for your sweet comments on my blog. Have a great rest of the week!

monday...Cheery Lynn Designs

Good morning everyone! Today I have a round easel card to share with you using my favorite doily die-the Cheery Lynn Designs English Tea Party Doily! I love their dies so much that I'm submitting this card to their DT Call.

I made a Thinking of You card and I just love the end results! Of course I had to make my own flowers using Heartfelt Creations stamps and dies! I also used those fluffy new birds by Heartfelt Creations. They are so cute!

I layered two pattern papers and distressed each layer and machine stitched them over the doily to create a layered and soft look.I handmade my flowers using the Heartfelt Creations stamps and dies from white cardstock and colored them with distress ink. The little birds I colored with Prismacolors and a little OMS to make the colors blend easier.

For the inside for the card, I made a layered flower cluster using the new tiny flowers from heartfelt Creations and another little bird. They add such a nice dimension to the card and it doubles to prop the easel card open!

Here's one last look at the easel card all propped open! I just love making these! They are so fun, easy and very elegant looking!

Here's a quick video to show you a tip that I've been using for the longest time and thought I would share: use a large embossing tool to lightly go over an intricate die cut to get rid of the tiny extra papers. If everything doesn't come out on your first try, flip it around and do it to the other side too. It works like a charm!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Have a wonderful rest of the week!
