Hello

Hi everyone,

Last week we held the monthly club meeting and the THEME card for February was "use a stencil".  Well I dug out my stencils and found one I really liked. Next I used some stencil paste to get the design on the card stock. I used black CS to make that design pop.  After it dried I colored it using some Wink of  Stella and Inktense pencils.

I loved the way this turned out, hope you do too.

I'm glad we decided on this theme for February. I might have to use stencils more often.

I am submitting this card to the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping in today and I hope I have inspired you to use your stencils.

The Butterfly

Hi Everyone,
Have you played with the Color Burst that is out on the market?? Well I have a few times and last nite I played with a yellow and a blue color.

.But this time I used the Color Burst as ink.

I spritzed a mist of water on a butterfly stamp and tapped a blue and a yellow bit of the powders on the rubber stamp. Then I turned that stamp over and stamped it on white card stock.

Well I loved what I got.

I decided to fussy cut that butterfly out.

Next I decided to stamp this same butterfly image on a blank white card.
After doing that, I had a lot of white space staring at me, so I pulled out a new stencil and covered up that white space with a brick design.

My butterfly that I had fussy cut out, I attached it over the butterfly
that I stamped directly on the card front.

I had a die cut, a lattice flourish, just sitting on my table and I slid it behind/underneath the butterfly

Then, I saw a  die cut piece from  K&Co, so I added that.(Its positioned above the butterfly)It was already colored  and its colors complimented the colors I was using on the card so I was OK with this addition.

Lastly I took a dictionary page and copied it onto card stock and added the butterfly definition.

OK Let me share my card with you.

Well I am really loving that butterfly and how it came out. Hope this inspires you to use Color Burst.

    Thinking of You

Hello and welcome to my blog

Each month the designers at Craft-Dee BowZ are given a theme for our individual post.
This month the theme is to use stencils.

Sometimes I will experience the fact that my muse goes on strike. Can't think of anything. This was one of those times.
So I dug into my treasure trove of stencils and came up with a design of sorts.

First I wanted to add dimension to this card so I used Texture Paste from Ranger. At first I decided to color the paste a yellow color so I applied it over the stencil on the panel and dried it, Then I found  I wanted a deeper color so I colored the image the orange color you see, used a Memento marker to change the color.

After the paste  was dry I decided the panel looked like it was lacking something.Too much white space. So I pulled another stencil and just used a sponge dauber to add ink over the stencil . This added more designs to the various areas, filling in those voids that were there on the panel.

Next I made some of my handmade flowers in an orange tone and punched out a few sprigs of foliage. I added those.

Next I added my bow, and of course I used my Craft-Dee BowZ tool. Te bow I made is a triple loop bow in a mint green. After that I added a sentiment on a tag and positioned that on the card and I am calling this one done.

Let me show you the texture on those large orange stenciled flowers

Don't be afraid to add texture to your card, Apply some texture paste over a stencil, kind of glop it on. When you pull that stencil off  it will give the design on your card a really great, raised effect.
    Go for it!! LOL
