Dogwood Blossoms

Donna Phelan back again on the Dies R Us Blog.
Today I am sharing a pretty little all occasion card with you today.

I have used the Poppystamps, Dogwood Blossom Corner die, which at the time of this writing was no longer available in the Dies R Us Store.  Our dies move in and out of the Store so quickly, so if you see something you like I suggest you snatch it up like *snap*.

Luckily we have many other styles of pretty corner dies that may be substituted for this type of creation.  Here is the link to Corner Dies.

I have also used the fantastic Memory Box Distress Windham Collage die.
This set is a must have as it comes with 4 different dies in 4 different designs!

Choosing one of the designs from the Memory Box Distress Windham Collage  I cut the top left portion from the white card stock panel and backed it with a pink card stock, lighter than my card base.  I then  cut the gorgeous Dogwood Blossoms Corner die twice, from pink and green card stock.
I snipped the pretty pink blossoms off, sponged a bit with Melon Mambo ink
and layered over the green die cut.

Heat embossed my sentiment in White Embossing Powder on a pink card stock strip and adding a few Adhesive Pearls for my accents.  My Designer Paper was a perfect match found in my stash.  Corner punch and an extra layer of pink card stock to show a bit more interest to my design.

If I fold this card inside out for mailing I may be able to get away with a single stamp....shhhhhh!

Thanks for popping in!

Enjoy~~

Double D, All White

Good Morning!

It's time for another FUN Challenge over at the Double D Challenge Blog.

Check out your inspiration this time:

I will admit, right here, right now, that these are difficult cards for me to create, almost as tough as making a CAS design.....almost.  But this is what I came up with.  I think at one point I just kept adding layers lol  They don't call it a Challenge for nothing!

Of course I started with Pure Luxury White card stock by Gina K Designs.  I then started to create a 'base panel' of sorts.  I used the MFT Vertical Frame die cut and then proceeded to place a Lattice die cut from the Garden Gate Kit by Papertrey Ink.  If you look closely you may be able to see it.  These were layered over a doily which I cut in half, a piece on either side.

Then I just started decorating and topping that panel.  Die cuts in; Paper Smooches, Foliage 3, Poppy Stamps, Dogwood Blossom Corner, MFT Fancy Flourish and Impression Obsession Birds.  All layered in there.  Finally topping with that magnificent butterfly by Crafty Ann, Butterfly 6.  Then I grabbed my Adhesive Pearls. Started with the flower centers.  Then the bird's eyes.  Then willy nilly all over, really no rhyme or reason......as you can tell.  lol

Lots of texture.

Lots of dimension.

I must say this was kind of fun to create.  No sentiment.....I have a bad record with all white cards and inks!

Please come on over to the Double D Blog and join in all of the FUN!  You'll be glad you did because there is a wonderful prize up for grabs!

Thanks for flitting in.

Enjoy~~

Happy Birthday Floral

On the Dies R Us Blog today!

Today I have a Birthday card to share with you!

My card uses a beautiful Happy Birthday die from PTI, but there are a couple in the Dies R Us Store that would work really well with this design.

OR

I ran my white base card stock through my Big Shot using a Swiss Dots Embossing folder to add texture.  And then I cut out the center with a Die-Namics Stitched Rectangle die.

Another comparable choice would be the Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Rectangles

I layered my Happy Birthday die 3 times in black, green and white card stocks.  By adding the black on the base it POPS off of the pretty pink Designer Paper.  Plus it adds a little bit more oomph!

I really have fallen in love with this Dogwood Blossom Corner by Poppystamps.  It's so delicate and beautiful!  I cut it once from green card stock and then again in pink, snipping the blossoms off and  layering them right on to the green.  Again, adding a bit more oomph.

Thanks for popping in!

Enjoy~~

Big Hugs

Good Afternoon!

I have a card to share with you that will be entered into the Challenge at Cheery Lynn, Doilies.

I saw This Card on Pinterest and I was inspired......I may have to rename this, Everything But The Kitchen Sink.....there is A LOT going on here!  lol

I started stamping the leaves from a Stipple Nature set by Gina K Designs and then added a few random dots from her Pretty Patterns 2 set.  Inks in Always Artichoke, Not Quite Navy and Soft Sky.  I also added some sponging to the focal panel, die cut leaves and cropped flowers in Antique Linen and Wild Honey.

Paper Smooches Foliage 1 dies in chipboard and card stock.  Cherry Lynn Wheat Heads, Poppy Stamps Dogwood Corner Blossom, Simon Says Scripty Big Hugs, and Dies R Us Butterfly Set # 2.   Half a doily sponged with Antique Linen.  Ribbon fiber, Jute Twine and Adhesive Rhinestones.  Swiss Dots Embossing Folder.  I was going to add even more rhinestones to the layered flowers in the bottom right hand corner, but that just seemed to be too much to me hahaha.

Fun card to make....hope it is equally fun to receive!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Enjoy~~

Dogwood Blossoms

Good Monday Morning!

Back on the Dies R Us Blog today!

To create this card I first die cut my beautiful Dogwood Blossom Corner by Poppy Stamps.  Twice.

I cut 2 complete sets in white card stock and then a bunch of blossoms in light pink.

I then colored the vines and flowers using Copic Markers.

Then I simply layered the light pink blossoms over the colored ones.  I off set them a bit to add a bit of dimension to the flowers.

Here I die cut my Birds by Impression Obsession also in white card stock.

This way I could color them how I wanted with Copic Markers.

Using Spellbinders Fanciful Lattice and Perfectly Pierced Frames I created my background layer and sentiment label.  Sentiment stamped in Black Licorice ink by Gina K Designs, You Are Not Alone.  Nuvo Crystal Drops in Dandelion Yellow for accents.  Swiss Dots Embossing Folder for texture.

This card will be entered into the Challenges at Simon Says Wednesday, Things With Wings and Scrapy Land, Embossing (heat or dry).

Don't forget to join in all of the fun at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog. There's a new challenge theme offered on the 1st & 15th of each month, with a gift voucher prize to one lucky winner.

Layered Butterfly

Good Monday Morning!

Back on the Dies R Us Blog again, to share another butterfly card with you.

I die cut the Small Lace Butterfly With Angel Wing die, by Cheery Lynn out of Core'dinations Glamorous Glitter Paper.  Man, is this butterfly gorgeous.....and it is anything but small.  It measures 2  3/8 x 3  3/4.  BIG.  BOLD.  BEAUTIFUL.  The lacy details are remarkable!  I also used the Angel Wing die.  This thing is so clever!  It's really only 'half' a die.  Which cuts down on your cost, what's not to love about that!!!

You just fold your card stock in half and line the end of the die up to the fold line, cut and wha la, a beautiful full sized die cut butterfly to back on to your beautiful full sized lacy butterfly die cut.  CLEVER!!!

After layering my lacy butterfly cuts I thought it would be interesting to cut another, totally different shaped butterfly from some Designer Paper, and layer that on top!  I cut one butterfly from the Butterfly Set #2 by our very own product line, Dies R Us Dies, from a very thick card stock that I have in my stash and then Designer Paper, adhering the 2.  This made a nice sturdy chipboard-like accent.  What do you think?  Kind of different, kind of interesting?  Kind of?

Texture added to my Blue Raspberry card stock using a Darice Lace Doily Embossing Folder.  I also added an actual doily to place my butterfly centerpiece on.  Beneath the doily I die cut a Spellbinders Standard Circle out of Fun Foam.  This gives the card a bit more dimension and makes for a nice sturdy resting spot for my butterfly.  I decorated all around with the Dogwood Blossom Corner die by Poppy Stamps, cutting several and snipping apart, placing them where I needed them.

Lastly I added lot of adhesive pearls in different sizes, including one as a flourish, to show the flight of my butterfly.  A strip of Designer paper on the inside to finish the card off.  I very rarely add an inside sentiment, preferring to write a heartfelt note.

Here's what I used:

Small Lace Butterfly With Angel Wing
Cheery Lynn

Butterfly Set # 2
Dies R Us

Dogwood Blossom Corner
Poppy Stamps

Thanks so much for fluttering by!

Enjoy~~
