Butterfly Birthday Wishes

Hello again!

This card will be entered into the Challenges at; Simon Says Monday, Make A Rainbow and Simon Says Wednesday, Happy Birthday.

Super easy.  Super fun!  I took water color paper and splattered and smooshed and dropped lots of color all over using my regular inks and my water brush.  Once dried I took the beautiful Memory Box Butterfly Exhibit die and cut it out.  I layered this on a piece of Red card stock.

I then added the teeny tiny butterfly cuts back into the negative space.  Only gluing in the middle and flipping up their wings for a bit more depth.  Sentiment stamped in Raven Black ink, from Gina K Designs, Stamper's Favorites.  Adhesive Pearls.  Butterfly Punch.

Thanks for flitting by!

Enjoy~~

Happy Birthday In Blues

Good Morning!

This card will be entered into the Challenges at; Stamp TV, It's My Party (Cat's Birthday!), Scrapy Land, Favorite Colors (this time more pretty shades of blue), Simon Says Wednesday, Anything Goes! and Simon Says Work It Wednesday, Something New.

Lots of pretty blues!  Stamp sets by Gina K Designs, Birthday Blessings and French Flair, both new to me as well as the Penny Black die, Border Edges, somewhat new to me, and all so beautiful!

The wordy stamp from French Flair stamped in Dove Grey ink to start my background.  Then I stamped the butterfly and vine images in Not Quite Navy ink on top of that.  I also found a ribbon in my stash to compliment the blue shades.  Jar, heart floral and sentiment stamped in Not Quite Navy and Black Licorice inks.  I filled my jar with Waterfall Stickles.

Folded flat to show off that pretty border die, isn't it glorious?  Thanks Barbara Campbell, peer pressure at it's finest.  lol

Oh and to toot my own horn just a bit, I am in the current CardMaker issue.....page 30.  I used the fabulous Stamper's Favorites set by Gina K Designs illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger.

And also a sneak peek above Tanya's head on page 5.....love that!

Thanks for popping in.

Enjoy~~

STV15MON48 Girl Power

Happy Monday!

I am hosting the Challenge at Stamp TV this week!

Here are ALL the details:

Are you ready?  I'm going to make this REAL simple......GIRL POWER!  Just make a feminine card, it could be a birthday, friendship, or just thinking of you kind of card, whatever you would like.  Just make sure we can tell it is for someone of the female persuasion!  Think Pink!  Add some BLING!  Show some special woman in your life how much she means to you!  No, you don't have to use pink or even bling, these are mere suggestions.

Here is the card I created for my lovely daughter's birthday!  She is my one and only and my best friend, yup as cliché as that sounds, it's all true!

Lots going on here.  I used 2 well loved Gina K Designs stamp sets for the sentiments, Basket Additions and Stamper's Favorites.  Dress form is a Cameo Cut file.

Then I just kept adding lots of fun embellishments; rosette ribbon and pearls for the dress, feathers, adhesive rhinestones and pearls, ribbon and an enamel dot.  Swiss Dots Embossing Folder for texture and a few die cuts; Stitched Traditional Tags and Bracket Edge Duo.

I found this a fun and fabulous card to make.  I think by choosing your recipient first, you can just go wild with imagination.

You may play along until 8:00 p.m. CST, Sunday December 6th, using the tag STV15MON48

I can not wait to see all of your fabulous entries and who you celebrate in your life!

I am also entering this card into the Challenge at Simon Says Wednesday, Anything Goes!

Enjoy~~

One Layer Collage

Good Afternoon!

The sun is shining, the winds are howling, man is it cold out, still feels like winter.  I know the calendar predicts Spring will arrive tomorrow, but I fear it may not.  *sigh*  Oh well, one day at a time!

I made this card for the Challenges at Stamp TV, One Layer Collage, (hosted by my dear friend, Karen Hightower) and at Simon Says Monday, Lions And Lambs, to use a 'critter' on your project.

I think Karen said she used 13 different stamp sets on her card, egads....I have only used 9....only!  lol

At first I felt intimidated by this Challenge, but once I started stamping I felt more at ease.  Although I definitely stamped in a more organized fashion, a more structured collage, more orderly and balanced.  I don't know if this is what Karen intended us to do, but this is how I did it.  hahaha  Not so carefree after all.  Who knew?  The only accents are the itty bitty brads from Stampin' Up! in green and blue.

I used the following Gina K Designs stamp sets;  Botanicals, Elegant Elements, Labeled With Love, Lots Of Washi, Signs Of Spring, Springtime Silhouettes, Stamper's Favorites and Stipple Nature, Tropical Flowers.

Distress Inks in;  Antique Linen, Broken China, Peeled Paint, Spiced Marmalade, Weathered Wood and Wild Honey.

Next time I think I will stamp in a more willy nilly fashion.  :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Enjoy~~

Paper Tole

Hello again.

My card will be entered into the Challenge at the Mod Squad, Paper Takes Its Tole. Hosted by my online BFF, Judy Woodland!  Yay Judy!

I don't think I have ever done this technique, but it is so much FUN!

Like Judy's sample card I knew I wanted to use a big bold bloom too. Flower, butterfly and sentiment are from the Penny Black stamp set, To You....the flourish is from the Bo Bunny stamp set, Sophie, leaves are from the Gina K Designs set, Stamper's Favorites. Images colored with Copic Markers, as well as all of the Adhesive Pearls.  A little Stickles added to the butterfly wings.

I stamped the flower 3 times and cut different portions out and added them back to the image.  This technique really is fun, gives the stamp an awesome look and adds so much depth and dimension.  I really want to try this with a hydrangea stamp, so many little blossoms....WOW!

Thanks so much for this Challenge, Judy.....Loved it!!  (and you!)

Enjoy~~

Card Box Holder

Good Afternoon!

I have been trying to make a bunch of cards for my Mom, ones that require no extra postage, so she can mail them easily.....no trips to the Post Office and hand stamping, IYKWIM?  Soooo, the next idea was to make her a cute little box to hold all of the cards in.  I perused the 'interwebs' and found an easy to follow tutorial HERE, at Pink Buckaroo's Blog.

This will be entered into the Challenge at Scor Pal, Hearts A Flutter

The score lines for the box are at:

card stock 11 x 7 inches, 1/2"   3"   8"   10.5"
card stock  7 x 6  inches, 1/2"   3" turn 90 degrees score again at 1/2"   5.5"

My card holder box isn't fancy or overly adorned, but it certainly gets the job done.

I used many Gina K Designs stamps for the dividers, Basket Additions, Lots Of Thanks, Make A Statement, Stamper's Favorites, and Up And Away.  Spellbinder's Hearts, Classic and Scalloped Circle dies.  Glitter dotted ribbon.

Nothing Fancy

That's it.....full of all different types of cards made with love.

Thanks for coming by.

Enjoy~~

Inky Backgrounds

Good Afternoon!

What a crazy couple of weeks!!!  Hubby was so kind and stole me away to Aruba for a week......it was fantastic!  Plus we missed  -4 degree temps while away.....Perfect!  Then when we got back I got that awful Flu that is going around, it's not good.....this is day 6, I do feel better and then.....I don't.  It's hard to describe.  If you can avoid it, please do!  I am just happy that I wasn't sick while away, that would have been horrible to say the least. Eek!

Anyways, home and on the mend, back to work tomorrow, hopefully!

Today's card will be entered into the Stamp TV January Release Party Challenge, to color with a sponge and the Simon Says Monday Challenge, Inky Backgrounds.

This card uses the Retiform Technique, and Gina has an awesome Video HERE.  I have used this technique before, actually with this same stamp set, Stamper's Favorites, as she has done as well.  It really is fun and comes out so nicely.  So grab some post-its and give it a try!   I've used Pure Luxury, Turquoise Sea card stock as my base and the 2 sponged inks are Pear Pizzazz and Bermuda Bay, stamped images are in Always Artichoke all by Stampin' Up! The only accent is the shear blue Organdy ribbon.  I really enjoyed this technique.

May 2015 be kind to you all!

Go Patriots!!!

Thanks for coming by!

Enjoy~~

Recessed Window

Hello Again!  This card, which I just had to share, is my 1600th card loaded on to My Gallery At Stamp TV.  WHAHOO!!!  For those of you about to ask, yeah I do not have a life!  lol  I just love to make cards.  And one of the great things about my little obsession is, I SEND 90% of them out too!  Yay me!  I love mail, I love getting mail, I love sending mail and I hope all that receive my cards love getting them too!  Okay enough blowing my own horn!

This card was made for the October Release Party Challenge at Stamp TV, to make a Recessed Card.  I will also be entering it into the Simon Says Monday Challenge, Anything Goes.

I was on Pinterest yesterday and saw this Gorgeous card, thought I would use it as inspiration, clicked on it and arrived at the Blog for instructions.  I was surprised when I recognized the author, Theresa Momber.  You will find her beautiful card there and her easy to use instructions!  That post was from 2009, and it's still valuable today, 5 years later.   WOW!!!

Here is my creation:

I used the Gina K Designs stamp sets Stamper's Favorites, Take Flight, Tropical Leaves.  I really like this recessed window design, I think I have made one before, it has so much depth.   Adhesive Rhinestones and Stickles on leaves and butterfly make this card shimmer and shine!

Using Distress inks in Antique Linen and Peeled Paint I stamped tropical leaves on the insert.

Sentiment stamped on a little flag banner, rhinestone accent.  Top leaves are a Sizzix Die.

The butterfly is on 2 layers of chipboard, which I stamped and fussy cut out.  The leaves are also cut out.  All colored with Copic Markers.

The Blog instructions also have a link to the VIDEO at SplitCoastStampers......check it out!

Thanks so much for joining me this busy Monday!  I have to go grocery shopping but you know I will be hitting the craft room afterwards!

ENJOY~~

I have one more card for you today.  This will be entered into the following Challenges;

Mod Squad Blog Summer Colors

Simon Says Wednesday You've Gotta Have Friends

My Favorite Things Sketch

And here is my creation:

I used 3 sets of stamps from Gina K Designs, One In A Million, Stamper's Favorites, and Up And Away.  I stamped the flowers image 3 times, made a mask to do so.  All flowers were colored with Copic Markers, I tried to match the background Designer Paper.  Each flower center has a dot of Liquid Pearls.  A little ribbon, Swiss Dots Embossing Folder and a itty bitty tag for the sentiment.  This card will be mailed off to Gina's Mom, Ruth, who is recuperating after a nasty fall.

Thanks for stopping by.

Going For The Gold

Good Afternoon!  I made this card the other day and did not have time to upload before leaving town.  This will be entered into the Mod Squad Blog Challenge, Go For The Gold.....such a timely title!

I found this awesome Designer Paper in my stash, and for the life of me I can not find the name of it.  It is by Christine Adolph and it is gorgeous!    I have incorporated the beautiful bird image from the paper to be part of my card, front and center!  I used the stamp set, Stamper's Favorites, available from Gina K Designs.  Using the feather image cut files, FREE from Stamp TV, (check the Freebies Tab) I cut 2 images using my Cameo.  Stamping in Versa mark and Gold Embossing Powder, I heat set the images.  I can see every little detail in that stamp, just beautiful!  So clean, so clear!  Layered 2 together topped with some loopy twine and a red button topped with a smaller black button.  I also gold embossed the sentiment.  I then added 4 corner eyelets and 2 Copic colored adhesive pearls and a criss cross of ribbon.  The card just completed itself, love when that happens!

It's another beautiful day here, we have had temps in the high 40's and into the 50's.....feels like Spring is here, but I fear that feeling is a bit premature.  What do they say about March???  In like a Lion out like a Lamb?  Eek!

Thanks for stopping by, always appreciated!

And if you have some free time, you still have a few hours to take part in the MIUM Challenge, I am hosting over at Stamp TV.  Deadline is Sunday 23rd, 8 pm CST.  Hope you stop by.

ENJOY~~
