Inkspirational Challenge #12

The latest challenge on the Inkspirational blog is a CASE.

I had a lot of fun with this one and that cute dress makers form!

The dress form and thread stamps are from a free set from Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine.  The sentiment is from Great Impression Stamps.  The edge die is Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations Sewing Edge.
Ink is Tim Holtz Distressed Vintage Photo.  Cardstock is  Core'dinations Tim Holtz & Ranger Distress Collection.  The scissors and bobbin are covered with Ranger Inkssentials Foil Tape Sheets.

Virtual Card Making Party Challenge 2

The next challenge at the Virtual Card Making Party (hereafter referred to as VCMP) was a recipe challenge of 1 image, 2 designer papers and 3 words.  Here is my take on the challenge.

I had fun with the "ribbon candy" using the idea that Sandy Allnock posted on the May Arts You Tube Channel.  The top DSP is the Luxury Paper Collection from Raspberry Road Designs.  I got it free by subscribing to Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine.  I stamped the paper with two stamps from the Stampers Best Sewing Kit Stamp Set using Tea Dye distressed ink.  I stamped the scissors from the same set  and the sentiment from Great Impression Stamps on Stampin'Up! Very Vanilla card stock using Vintage Photo distressed ink.  I used Stampin'Up! Apothecary Accents framelit to cut out the sentiment and hand cut the background cardstock to frame it.  The second DSP is from the Creative Memories Give Thanks Digital Kit.  The pink pearls are from Creative Charms (sadly no longer in business).  See you at the next challenge!

OWH Midweek Throwdown Challenge Anniversary

Operation Write Home Midweek Throwdown Challenge is an Anniversary Card.  I came up with one and a possible second one that could be used for an Anniversary.

My first card also qualifies for the MOJO Monday 248 challenge. The background paper is from Raspberry Road Designs Luxury Paper Collection that I received as a gift from Cardmaking & Papercraft Magazine.  The next layer is from the Authentique Splendid 6x6 collection.  The Love sentiment is from SU Butterfly Prints and the frame around is from Four Frames without the bird.  The Happy Anniversary is from SU Teeny Tiny Wishes.  All punches are from Stampin'Up.  Ribbon is from my stash.  The golden butterfly is from Paper Wishes Gold Butterfly Dazzles.  Cardstock is Very Vanilla and some blue from my scrap pile.

The second card is one that I will take to Westbrook Stamp Club this month for my friends to make.  I CASEd this card from Penny Allen on Splitcoast Stampers. The large flower is Stampin'Up! Mixed Bunch stamped in Calypso Coral, punched out and rolled for dimension.  The flourish is from SU Elements of Style.  The sentiment is from SU Loving Thoughts and the butterflys are SU Beautiful Wings Sizzlet.  Cardstock is SU Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake.  This also qualifies for the Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge for July 4th.

OWH Midweek Throwdown Color Challenge

The Color Challenge this week for Operation Write Home's Midweek Throwdown is blue and yellow.  I am barely getting this in under the wire!
I know this looks kind of orange but in real life it really is more yellow and the blue is more turquoise.  I just can't seem to get the colors right with the photo editing software.  The paper is Raspberry Road Designs Luxury Paper Collection. It reminded me of the illustrations on sewing patterns back in the day.   It was a gift from Cardmaking and Papercrafting Magazine.  I got the idea to use it from Desert Rose Outpost because she used one of the papers in the collection for one of her cards (and she did a very beautiful job).  The sewing thread and scissor stamps are from Stampers Best Sewing Kit Stamp Set and the sentiment is from Great Impressions Stamps.  I used Stampin'Up! Tempting Turquoise ink and Creative Memories cardstock.
