Proof! Anyone can make cards!

IMG_9121

We’ve had a busy day today…hence the late post!  But it’s been great!

My brother and sister-in-law are visiting for the weekend with their two children so we have a houseful!!

We’ve finally got the girls off to sleep…the boys are still chatting, thinking that we don’t know they’re awake…but it’s all very cute!

Anyways, we’ve had a lovely relaxing day.  Started off with a “fish” foot massage at Aquazene in town for myself and my sister-in-law (you have to try it!), followed by an afternoon of making cards (even my husband made a Mother’s Day Card) and finished the day off with a trek around the hills…in a vane attempt to tire the kids out!  Yeah, right!

So on today’s blog I’ve posted the cards from this afternoon….made by my daughter and niece (both 4) and my husband (40).  I’ll let you decide who made what…..  Smile

And Another Mother’s Day Card….

IMG_9119I made this for a friend to send to his mum….hope he gets it to her on time! Smile
I’m really pleased with how it turned out.  So much so I might be making this for my mum!  It’s made using die cut flowers using my sizzix machine.
Right…on to the exciting news!  To all who attended my Open House on Saturday and placed an order…I HAVE NOW SUBMITTED THE ORDER AND IT’S WINGING IT’S WAY TO US AS WE SPEAK! YAY!
But that’s not all!  As it’s the first of April, we can now reveal the lovely new ideas and products in the NEW Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalogue!!
This catalogue will be available until September but it’s lovely and gorgeous and I can’t wait to get my hands on some of the new products!
And finally….the really big news is the new mini catalogue introduces Sizzix Big Shot for Stampin' Up! with exclusive dies!!!!  Get your wish list out!!
If you’d like a closer look at any of the products from the catalogue (or indeed the main catalogue) just drop me a line and I can organise a workshop for you and your friends.
The Mini is available now, so if you’d like a copy drop me a email or text (with your address if I haven’t got it!) and I’ll mail one out to you!!  As soon as I can, I’ll have a link up on my sidebar.
So…are you excited?Smile

Another Mother’s Day Card…

Yep…it’s going to be like this for a while…as more people realise that Mother’s Day is Sunday.
IMG_9116

I’ve made this for a friend’s children to give to their mum.  I just hope he likes it as it’s a bit of a deviation from last years style.  I’m sticking with my CAS style for a while but have made this slightly bigger.  It’s an A5 card made using colours from Stampin’ Up! Brights colour collection.  I’ve rounded the outside corners on the card.  Sometimes I think this makes the card look fancier.  What do you reckon?
Here’s a close up of the Pink Petticoat image!

I’ve adhered it to the front using Stampin’ Up! dimensionals to give it…er….dimension"!
I’m entering this in the “Mum’s the Word” challenge over on My Time To Craft.  Hop over to have a look at the other entries now.
So tomorrow (Thursday) I’m taking a break from blogging to work on something quite special but please come back Friday when (hopefully) I’ll have some exciting news!!  I’ve been dying to tell you…..so I for one can’t wait!

Don’t forget Mother’s Day…

I’m loving my new Stampin’ Up! stamps and inks.  And I’m so inspired by the ladies over on “Less is More”.  I can’t get enough of CAS (Clean and Simple, not Chocolate Appreciation Society…….although…. *looks longingly towards the fridge*).

I’ve used the same colours in all these cards.  Real Red, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie.  These colours together give a really happy and funky look I think!  I’ve used the I {Heart} Hearts set for these cards and trimmed with just a single gem.

I’ve used the flowers from Simply Said for the rest of the cards, trimming the centres with gems and for the A6 versions below, adding a tab of whisper white ribbon.

I’m entering the flower cards into the Cupcake Craft Challenge this week….Denise has chosen the theme Flowers for Mum.   It has to be a Mother’s Day Card, too.  So get crafting!
Mother’s Day isn’t far away Smile.

Say it with Flowers

IMG_9046
Well I’ve reverted to my old stash – I fancied a whirl on the LOTV Challenge this week.  However, it’s not a typical LOTV card because I’m trying to keep it Clean And Simple.

This card is made from Papermania’s Kraft card blanks and the beautiful Bloom and Grow range (oh no!! I'm running out of it!!) from My Mind’s Eye.  The image is, of course, one of the cute dressing up girls from LOTV, coloured in using my pens.

I’ve kept the colours simple, toning the orange and the green.  It was difficult.....but I’ve resisted the urge to add ribbon, but had to add the flowers….the challenge is, afterall, ‘Say it with Flowers. LOL!

So let me know what you think. I’ve loved reading all your recent comments and really appreciate you taking time out to view my posts.

Another Mother’s Day Card….

I might have said this before, I’m not a cutesy kind of person….so why did I get more Fizzy Moon stamps?  Well…because they make lovely Mother’s day cards when water coloured with distress inks, of course!

This card uses the new Desert Bloom papers.  It’s such a simple but effective design and can be adapted to so many occasions.  I’ll try and make some different occasions….but for inspiration on designs, hop over to CardPatterns.
Let me know what you think….thanks for reading Smile

Spring is on the way...

...and what better way to celebrate then to break out the spring colours from Pink Petticoat!  I couldn't resist the new Creative Cardmaking Special featuring Pink Petticoat! Lovely!

So I've used the daisy backing paper and images from Spring Wishes to make these Mother's Day Cards.  I've created the borders with my Fiskars punch... it is my tool of choice and features heavily through my card making.  Then I've finished the cards of with the obligatory glamour dust and occasion gem, and ribbon from my stash.  The greetings are simply printed using the computer, cut out and edged with distress ink (or anything that you can lay your hands on.

I think they work quite well :-)

Let me know what you think.
