For Family Night on Monday we had a lesson about the Book of Mormon.   William and James each got their own copy.  William loves to mark "special scriptures" in his copy.  As we finished up dinner on Tuesday night I went looking for James.  It's pretty normal for him to wander off before he's done eating.  This is how I found him:

Maybe we are doing something right.

  1. I love this- and I KNOW you are doing something right- I just keep thinking of that talk (was it Elder Bednar?) It isn't about getting it perfect, it is about consistency. So when our FHE lessons turn out to be 30 seconds followed by running around the house, I try to think of the positive that we at least tried :) I love to hear Jake's prayers when be blesses the prophet and how he points out when I forgot to pray for the missionaries. The book of Mormon idea is great! I love it! I bet they would love their own copy instead of reading mine all the time. (I would like it too since mine are getting a little worn thanks to the Jake)

  4. Good job!! Do you remember when you were about that age. You would mark your Book of Mormon with pictures you drew depicting what the story was about. That way you could find the story even though you couldn't read the words yet. My favorite was the picture you drew of the Rameumpton.

  5. Mom... I remember drawing those pictures... especially the Rameumpton one. I keep thinking I should have William do that too.

  9. I have Garrett a copy of the BoM a while back and he loves to take it to bed and flip through the pages. He's obviously not reading anything, but I'm really intrigued by how he'll pick that book over one of his favorite picture books.

  10. What a sweet boy. I've been thinking I should get Olivia her own Book of Mormon now that she's a sunbeam. Thanks for the reminder.
