A Craft Roulette original, the “Zoyfold” card

As the title says, Craft Roulette’s Mary Gunn and Irene Smith came up with this name to describe a card design that is part Z-Fold card and part Joy fold card.

In the image above, the embossing folder is by Darice and I inked it with distress ink. The vellum is from the Paper Studio and I cut it into a circle using my Creative Memories cutting system. The gems are by Couture Creations.

The brick embossing folder by Darice. I inked it with all different inks before spraying it with water. This is the inside flap other side of the green cardstock.

The vintage looking door stamp is from Deep Red Stamps. I used watercolors to color it then die cut it out with a Sizzix oval scalloped die. The oval mat behind the image is also by Sizzix.

This card was made for Craft Roulette episode #249. The parameters were: project-“Zoyfold” card. Colors-elegant. Elements-Front Door. Random-3 circles.

Manly Monday Debossed background card

The background is made with Tim Holtz kraft core cardstock combined with a dry embossing folder by Darice. Then I used some Copic markers of the same shade.
I had intended for the raised embossing to be on the kraft side of the cardstock but I wasn’t mindful of which way was up on the embossing folder .
I then decided to cut out a cover plate die cut by Simply Defined from Scrapbooking Made Simple out of Papertrey Ink polka dot patterned paper. After I adhered it to my embossed background I colored in the die cut leaves and it didn’t work. I tried different colors and
nothing seemed to look right.
So to take away from the leaves that I didn’t like, I used a Copic marker over the raised embossed areas. It’s okay.

Manly Monday Books at a Coffee shop card

This card is for Craft Roulette card #213
Project: Hello card
Colors: Robust-my online resources said browns, dull orange, dull yellow, and grey
Element: Workplace people at work drink lots of coffee
Random: Mixed media -Copic markers, background stamp, and using wallpaper.

I made the background using a background stamp by Stampin Up with Hero Arts ink. The book stamp is by Darice and is colored in with Copic markers. Then I fussy cut the image.
The brown and blue square dies were bought off eBay. The interesting look to them is because there was already a hole in the center of the blue square. So when I lined up the squares there was a funky look to it.
The “Hello” sentiment and the border dies are by Spellbinders. The side border is made from wallpaper samples.
The rust-colored sticker dividing the stamped area and the border is by Creative Memories, I’m using up some oldies but goodies.
Thanks for looking. HAGD!

Manly Monday Graduation paper clip Card

The patterned paper is by Karen Foster and the gold cardstock is by Sizzix. The embossing folder is by Darice. So what I did with this card was I put both the patterned paper and white cardstock into the embossing folder and ran it through my Cuttlebug. This way I wouldn’t have to try and line them up together. The white gel pen by Sakura. the golden paper clip is unknown.

I don’t like top-folding cards. I’ve handed out a lot of Christmas cards to the elderly and when they were given a card they would try to open it as a side-folded card.

The other thing that I dislike with top folding cards is they don’t seem to stand upright, no matter what the thickness is of the cardstock. When you try to display them I find they do the splits.

So I put the paper clip in that spot so that they had to take it off and then they would lift it up. I made this card for the Craft Roulettee show on Friday nights.

The parameters were:

Project: A window, mine is the frame.

Colors: Bird colors, red, yellow, blue in the patterned paper.

Element: On the pond, the ripples around the word water ripples.

Random:Paper clip

Thanks for looking.

UPDATE:

I changed it.

Floral Fridy Spanner Christmas card

I love CRAFT ROULETTE because it teaches me to go outside my comfort zone. This week the wheel stopped on a fun fold card called a Spanner card. It has three folds for the recipient to open. This is what the card looks like when you take it out of the envelope. Pretty.

P.S. CRAFT ROULETTE Airs on YouTube every Friday night at 7:10 EST. Here are the details in case you’re interested in checking it out.

So the border on the bottom is made up of a horizontal strip of Sizzix opulent paper. Layered on top of it is a border from an old paper pack by Die Cuts with a View. The doily in the center is by Stampin Up. It’s hard to see but I adhered tiny red flowers behind the green flower that form a wreath on top of the doily. All flowers are by Prima.

Next, you open the card and you see an embossing folder by Darice and the wreath on top by Jolee’s. It was placed on the back of the white tag to cover it up.

On the last page/ panel, I added red opulent paper on both sides. When I did that I accidentally bent the paper so I added a sticker by EK Success to cover it up.
I put a vertical border strip by Die Cuts with a View on the left of the white cardstock and finished with a sentiment by Stampendous.

. I’d never heard of a spanner card so I went to Split Coast Stampers for a tutorial. Tada!
(So I’m noticing that these links give you a “redirect notice”. Tell me if you get that too.)
Thanks so much for stopping by.

Manly Monday graduation cards

Details/Products: The stars tape is by Scotch, the black cardstock from Scrapbook Made Simple, and the cap and diploma are puffy stickers by Paper House Productions. The sentiment is cut out with my Cricut and adhered to vellum. I adhered the vellum to a blue cardstock, which made the vellum look blue. I popped up the sentiment with white foam squares. The two corners were rounded with a CM corner rounder.

Details on my second card: Dry embossing folder by Darice. I inked it with distress ink. I adhered the sentiment to colored vellum that didn't match the school colors. So I colored the back of the vellum with a blue Copic marker before running it through my sticker maker by Xyron. The graduation cap is a sticker by Jolee's Boutique by EK Success. Thanks for looking.

Manly Monday Owl-Who Me?

The owl is from patterned paper. I used a Spellbinders die to cut him out and then the next size up cut it out of a wallpaper sample. The sentiment is stamped with alphabet letters from SNP (no longer in business). The die cut was cut it half and so I placed a Creative Memories sticker over the seam. The brown background paper is dry embossed with a wood pattern embossing folder by Darice. The strips of paper are scraps from my stash. Thank you for stopping by.

Fall Colors with leafy dry embossed background card

I found this beautiful background in “the drawer”. It’s dry embossed with a Darice embossing folder. I covered the background with Distress Oxide and sprayed it with Dylusions Shimmer Spray. I wrapped the rust-colored ribbon down the center of the embossed background and secured it around the backside. Then on top of the ribbon is a piece of patterned paper by The Paper Studio. I used my Cricut to cut out the sentiment. The leaves and the die cut in the center are by Spellbinders. Thanks for looking.

Pink with Gold Thread Card

The new dies I bought from Amazon came together and I die cut them together  I got the idea to wrap the gold thread around the edges. The final card is wider than your standard A2 card that I usually make. The center die cut is by Spellbinders and dry embossed with a Darice embossing folder. I lightly inked the pattern with Distress Oxide. The sentiment was sprayed with Glimmer Mist before being cut out. Thanks for looking.

Manly Monday Wishing you Card with a Promoted Woodgrain Embossing folder

I really like the way this card came together. The sentiment is heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Then I inked it with distress ink. The background paper and the jute are by Tim Holtz. The white cardstock has been dry embossed and then I would place a Gathered Twigs mini distress ink cube on top of the embossed area wait a few and then lift it straight up and place it on another spot. Let it sit for a moment or longer if I forgot about it and then again lift straight up.

Two things to note, I have shaky hands that jerk. <ClicK>  The jerking hands has been a problem when I’ve pressed send before finishing or proofreading a text or message. <ClicK> We’re back. Point is, my hand didn’t jerk sending the ink cube flying across the embossed background and/or across the room landing ink pad side down on the carpet. Second, it’s amazing that I didn’t drop the ink cube on the embossed paper. Thanks so much for stopping by. I have cards and layouts to post but injuries have prohibited me from going downstairs to my supplies and my PC. I now understand why people give up crafting if they don’t have a dedicated room to do so. You get I your stuff out and then have to put it away for dinner. It’s really hard to get your craft on that way.

You Look Fabulous...Given How Old your Are cards

You look Fabulous cards.
The stamp Film stamp set is by Deep Red Stamps
The sentiment is by Stampendous

The sentiment was heat embossed in gold.

The dry embossed background on the card below the image is by Darice. I like the way I did the first card with the film strip better because I stamped it out on white and fussy cut it out. That way I was able to line up the pattern unlike the ones below. Oh well.

Deep Red Stamps Garden Doorway Cards

The stamp is by Deep Red Stamps and is called

Each doorway is heat embossed with a different color of embossing powder.
From left to right: copper, silver, and gold onto watercolor paper
I used distress inks and a water pen to color in the images

I used distress ink on the backgrounds too
The brick embossing folder is by Darice.

I tried to add that ribbon and it turned into a pain.
I taped the ribbon down and it turned funny. Ugh!
So I glued jute down each side of the ribbon.
So dumb.
The whole ribbon thing was not necessary.
The card was great just the way it was.

The sentiment stickers are by K and Co.is by

This photo below shows the difference in the colors of each the embossing powders
