Four Cards using a wreath die cut

I've had these wreath die-cuts in my stash for years. It was time to take an afternoon and put them onto cards. I made the sentiments with my Cricut using the draw and cut feature. The wreath die-cuts are unknown. I did ink them with Colorbox chalk ink, distress ink, or colored in with colored pencils (the one on the far left). The patterned paper is by Making Memories called Autumn Splendors. There are pieces of patterned paper by Provo Craft. The jute is by Tim Holtz. Border punch by EK Success.

Blue and green flower with die cuts Card

I’ve been a card making machine and I have been busting out some layouts.

The stamp and matching die are by Sizzix

The brads are by Making Memories and Basic Grey
The flower brads are inside a glittery flower sticker.

The die-cuts are by Spellbinders

The background paper is white cardstock that I sprayed with glimmer mist over  a Gina Marie stencil. I cut it down to the size of my card front and then inked the edges with distress ink.

Here are some examples where I used the same flower stamp

You're the Cat's Meow! Cards

Here are some more of the cards I made for health care workers and nursing home residents.
This is the first litter of kitty cards

I used cat stamps by Gina Marie Designs
The sentiment is by Lawn Fawn which are stamped onto Spellbinders die cuts and attached using eyelets
I used Colorbox ink on the three cats that are the same and Hero Arts grey ink on the other

So on with the show:

First card:
The background paper is some handmade crap that someone pawned off on me. It's already been thrown away.
The copper patterned paper is by DCWV
The orange cat is stamped onto a Dreamweaver Stencils die-cut
Sentiment die-cut is by Spellbinders with orange eyelets

Second Card:
The dry embossing is a Cuttlebug folder.
It was lightly inked with distress ink.
Sentiment die-cut is by Spellbinders with black eyelets

Third card:
The black cardstock dry embossed with a Darice folder
Sentiment die-cut is by Spellbinders with white eyelets
This is a smaller card 3.5x5

Fourth card:
The grey cat stamp is by Gina Marie Designs. I cut him out with my scissors.
The die-cut he is on is by Sizzix with WRMK patterned paper with inking on the inside of the die-cut.
The sentiment is by Lawn Fawn but no Spellbinder die-cut
The background paper was a wallpaper sample that I dry embossed with a friend's embossing folder.
This is a smaller card base 5x3.5

Last card-
I pulled this three cat panel from a box in the back. It is from the woman that went into the nursing home and I received a bunch of her stamping things. She had bits and pieces that she started and never finished.
The pattern paper is from Hobby Lobby by The Paper Studio.
Sentiment die-cut is by Spellbinders with orange eyelets
Same sentiment as the rest

Layering Happy Birthday card

This card has many layers to it so here we go. All of the square die cuts including the label are by Spellbinders. The sentiment stamp and its ink are by Hero Arts. The background cardstock is by Coredinations/Tim Holtz and the sheer ribbon was a scrap.

The flower, if you would call it that, is a Sizzix stamp and die combo. I stamped it with pigment ink by Colorbox, let it dry and die cut it out with the matching die. I put the flower on foam squares before adding it to the rectangle. I'm impressed with how nicely the die cut came out. Usually, my stamp/die combos take a bunch of tries to get them aligned.

The blue frame square was made previously, that's code for a really long time ago, and I kept it because there was a chunk of this background piece that was still a good size to use on a later project. Now why I kept the negative of this square die cut will never be known but to my advantage today the colors worked out well. The watercolor paper by Ranger was covered with powdered chalk mixed with water and an iridescent white paint all of which were by Stamp N Plus, a company I worked for but is no longer in business.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look at this long post for just one little card.

Deep Red Stamps ATC Mixed Media Framed decoration for Paul

My husband’s birthday is today and I wanted to share what I made for him...last year. I enjoyed making it because it shows all of the different aspects that make him well, him. I used Deep Red Stamps, distress inks, alphabet journal cards by Colorbox, brads by Eyelet Outlet, Around the Block and The Paper Studio.
All the Atc's use the Brick Wall background stamp with distress ink. I’ve done this distressed look with the brick stamp on this set of Valentine ATC’s.

This first card represents how he likes to hunt, fish and camp. Here are the Deer Stamp and a few other cards using this stamp, Buck Card and Buck card #2

Paul is a physics teacher and he wears a tie most days. The Quantum Background Stamp is perfect for this card. I used this background stamp on this Graduation card.

He likes to work in his barn on cars and drink beer with his friends. Beer and power tool are buttons. Here are the Chevelle Stamp and some other cards using the stamp Chevelle card and Chevelle Card #2

This card represents the four seasons. It is something that he cherishes about Michigan. (Brads-Orange flower for spring, sun for summer, leaf for fall and snowflake for winter). Here is the Leaves Stamp I used on this card.

With the cards all lined up in a row, I dislike the placement of the P because it doesn't line up with the other letters. Unfortunately, it was the only one left in the set.

I backed the cards with Creative Memories cardstock and some random patterned paper.

The frame for my decoration hung in my mother’s house my whole life. The irony, I never knew the man in the frame whereas I’ve known my husband more than half my life. I dabbed the frame with Colorbox pigment ink and poured Gilded Ivory embossing powder by The Powder Keg over it and heat it with my heat gun. It took a lot of coats of embossing powder to cover it. Sometimes I would let it bubble up from too much heat too see what it would look like.

Here is the finished project in the sunlight.

Christmas Penguin Present Card

I sent in cards to the Just Cards magazine to be published and was surprised when my package was "Return to sender". I searched online and their website is up but nothing is available to purchase. I read, accuracy is unknown, the company came in and informed it's employees that they no longer had a job because they were no longer going to be publishing magazines. Bummer.
Small tidbit on sending in cards-When I sent my cards in I would always include a return address envelope and postage so I could get my card back. If you don't do so, your card is not returned to you. I didn't know what they did with them and hated to think my cards would be thrown away. So regardless that it was a hassle and more expense to get the cards returned I still did it. My point? They sent me every card that had previously been sent in and not yet been published. They didn't have to do that. It was very nice of them to respect my wishes to have my cards returned to me.
Thank you Just Cards magazine and RIP.
My card descriptions were typed up to read as directions in a magazine. To save on time, I copied and pasted those instructions into my blog posts and have my fingers crossed that the formats will work well together.

Penguin Present
Start by making a green card base 4 ¼  x 5 ¼ with Recollections cardstock
Stamp a penguin by JustRite Stamps (Christmas Joy Set)
by coloring the layers with Smooch Inks (Colorbox).
Then color in the rest of the Penguin and die cut out using a Spellbinders oval die.
Die cut a rectangle with rounded ends out of green cardstock by Coredinations.
Cut a red cardstock background 2 ¾ x 3 ½  and wrap a piece of green with
red polka dots (May Arts) to the center and around to the back.
Trim down a piece of iridescent white paper (K and i) to 4 x 5 and wrap the same
ribbon down the center.
Adhere the penguin layers to the white paper and then to green card base.

For my card today I stamped Autumn Leaves flourishes with blue pigment ink (Colorbox) and accented with blue rhinestones. The sentiment is a glitter sticker on top of two rectangle die cuts.
Simple but I’m liking the simple look over the way too much stuff on the card look.
