Floral Friday Pink Flowers Destash Card

This card used up most of my small pink flowers. I will probably regret that in the future but there are other pink flower accents that I can make.

When I started placing the flowers on the card I didn’t know where I was going with it. I just went for it and glued them down and added Stickles to the center. That wasn’t the best decision. I should have made the pattern then glued the flowers down. I thought:

Oh well, I liked the top better than the bottom.

It was the bottom and so I was OK with it.

The top is cleaner than the bottom.

Nobody will see the bottom. Ya right!

I found the tiny plate with letter die cuts and cut out “Thirty 1993” for my Niece’s 30th birthday. I adhered the letters around a rhinestone cluster that I found in my stash.

I had to cut off the edges of the front panel to fit on my card base. It wasn’t until then that I realized…I glued the letters on upside down.
I was crushed. I tried to take the letters off. Nope. Removing the letters was destroying the flowers, which I only had 2-3 flowers left.

Looking at it now, it’s no big deal. You can hardly tell or see what I’m talking about. But...You see this flower front panel had been sitting on my desk for weeks. I looked at it all of time. I was working to figure out the best way to finish it. I couldn't get just any sentiment to look "right".

So when I found the alphabet plate I knew just what to do with it. I was excited to use it for the special occasion. But then to have so much into it to trip at the finish line...irritating.

I have to remind myself that,

It’s handmade. Not Ha11m@rk.

Thanks for looking.

Floral Friday My Cousin turns 40th this month

Let’s take note that this is a slim-line card. Some things I don’t do very often.

My cousin’s birthday is today and this is the card I made for her. I started out with a silver cardstock by Creative Memories. Sadly, they no longer sell this paper. Next is the pink gingham patterned paper is an oldie by Paper Pizzazz.
So let’s talk about these flowers. So, Stampin Up, I’m working with 3 different stamp sets. 1 stamp set has a matching die to cut it out. For the remaining 2, you stamp the image and then punch it out by using a matching punch. I’ve always had a problem getting them lined up correctly.
The pink flower with the silver flecks is by Prima. The rest of the flowers are Gemini dies.

Warning: this next description is weird and messed up. Everything in this description is not in the same sitting. I mean like years apart. But it was a happy accident that worked out beautifully.
I die cut a piece of pink paper by Sizzix.
Then I got new dies by Creative Expression.
I cut a new shape out of the old shape and then left it inside of the die for a while. Time goes by until
I finally wanted to use my new die, so I used a blending tool with distressed ink before removing the die from the paper.
Time goes by again.
I wanted to make a special card for my cousin
I placed a gray paper behind it and then found these number stickers and they worked perfectly for this card. I love the way it turned out. I hope she got it on time. Thanks for looking.

That probably made no sense to anyone but it was worth a try. After writing up this post for an hour and 15 minutes I’m calling it quits. Thanks for looking.

Floral Friday Bright Pink Card

This card is not my favorite but they don’t all have to be my favorite. The cardstock used is by Recollections. The stamp is by Inkadinkado and I colored it in with Copic markers before I used a Sizzix die to cut it out. I added some rhinestones and enamel dots from my collection. I put some washi tape on the side to make the card look less, and I mean less crooked. It doesn’t make it straight. It makes it less crooked. This card is an anniversary card. Thanks for looking.

Here are some other cards using the Same Stamp

Gray busy fancy birthday card

There’s way too much going on with this card. The background stamp and ink are by Hero Arts. The die cuts are by Spellbinders. The bottom layer is a recycled wallpaper sample and the rhinestones are by Want2Scrap. Then the patterned paper is grrrr idk. I know what the pattern on the other side looks like. The flourish is a rub-on and the sentiment is a sticker. Thanks for looking.

Happy little stampers-birthday

Yellow Balloon Birthday Card

These are not my favorite cards but I made them. This blog is a place for me to look at all the things I've made for the last 13 years. I wouldn't be true to myself to not have the ugly cards posted too. Creative Memories sticker borders. Sizzix die cut. Distress ink. I added a sentiment over the wrinkle in the die cut.

Stampin Up-polka dot paper. Tag Creative Memories. Spellbinders doily die cut. Thanks for looking.

Pink with Hidden White Border Punches card

The Recollections patterned paper is die cut out with a die from Lawn Fawn. The happy die cut is by Clearly Besotted and the word birthday is fun foam that was die cut out with a Papertrey Ink die.
The border punch is by Fiskars. The white on white really gives it a hidden element. Finishing up, I added a rhinestone to the i because I lost the original dot. Thank you for looking.

Pink Love you a Latte by Lawn Fawn Just a note card

I made the background of my card by using a Stampin Up background stamp, see below and then the coffee beans and hearts from a Lawn Fawn stamp set. I water-colored the coffee cup and the donut. The donut has sprinkles on top. The scallop circle die cuts are by Spellbinders with the pink patterned paper by Recollections. The Just a Note sentiment by Spellbinders was all connected but to keep it in the circle I cut it apart. In retrospect, I should have cut out the A and had the other two words separate. I put a rhinestone on the J and scattered a few small pink hearts by Lawn Fawn.

Thanks for stopping by.

I turned a Fan into Butterfly on my Scalloped Circle Card

This card base is pre-made by Recollections. I inked the whole thing with distress ink and sprayed it with Dylusions golden mist. The main butterfly is a fan that I cut in half. The fan die cut has been in my stash for years and I  wanted to get rid of it. There was a challenge to use something Japanese and so I came up with this idea. The rhinestones and other green butterflies are f rom my stash. The sentiment die cut is by Lawn Fawn.

Thanks for looking. Warning, I have a lot of Christmas cards coming up in the next few weeks..

Christmas card book through the years with the Sarjeants

This first card really shows my old style of scrapbooking. I used many components of the actual Christmas card they sent with the photo. Things like the circle at the bottom. I cut it out with the Creative Memories cutting system. I circle punched the sentiment (Peace) and then larger green circles for them to stand out. Then, I cut out what was written on the inside and taped it onto the left side border stickers. I even cut out their signature and placed it below the title. I stamped their name on white cardstock and cut them out. That and the year is on the right side. It's a super old fashion way to scrapbook but that's what I did at that time.

The second one:
The big flower in the center is by Jolee's. The patterned paper is beautiful but unknown.
The banner and the stars in the corner were cut out with my Cricut

The third card:
The blue paper did all of the work, all I did was add their names on blue cardstock with Lawn Fawn ABC's stamps.

This 4th year is a little bit fancier.
There's a rhinestone circle around the year of the card.
The tag includes their last name because it isn't listed on the Christmas card.

The next thing we received is a graduation announcement
I made the sandy paper bottom left with torn paper and distress ink.
I used the sun rays stencil by Tim Holtz and Squeezed Lemon Distress ink.
On the right side, I used pre-made patterned paper.
I added the middle embellishments above and below her photo in the center.

Save the Purple Hello Card!

This card came to me in a bunch from Hubby's grandma. She knew that I liked to recycle cards and gave me every single card that she received.

The stamped front panel was also the card base and it was thin.
It had some damaged edges, a crease in the white cardstock, and missing rhinestones.

I started by cutting off the front panel with the stamping. I love the stamping she did and may try something similar someday.

Next, I matted the stamped panel onto two separate recycled cards.
Below you will see pictures of the 2 recycled cards.

I made the sentiment on my Cricut using a purple glitter pen onto vellum.
The vellum helps cover the crease.
I always use a Xyron sticker maker for vellum. It's the best adhesive for vellum that I have found.

Ariel mermaid card

My friend loves The Little Mermaid. This one was for her.

The rocks stamp is by Lawn Fawn
Both stamps were colored with Copic markers
The musical notes background stamp is by Hero Arts. And heat embossed in a light purple on a project life card.
The sentiment just for you is by Fiskars and the Princess is unknown. It was heat embossed in silver and inked with distress ink and sprayed with Glimmer Mist.
Ariel is on a Spellbinders label die cut that I inked the inside with distress ink before taking the paper out of the die. The matching rhinestone frame is by Want2Scrap
I bought the wave dies on eBay. I inked them with distress ink.

This is just a picture of the stamped background on a grid lined Project Life card.
