Bi-Weekly Challenge #9 - Gold Project 4

Hi everyone, Doris from MomsBeenScrappin here
to share my project for the Gold challenge.

The Cuttin' and Stampin' design team was inspired by the new
Simple Stories I Am collection and Lawn Fawn
Lucky Stars stamp set.

These products and so much more are available at

I live in New Jersey, and we've had so much snow
this winter, so these papers and die cuts
made me thing of spring.  I used several of the
die cuts with the gold trim and cut a few stars with my
Cricut Explore, and used that as a tie in with
the Lawn Fawn stamp sentiment.

Now it's your turn.

Pocket Thursday - 14-24: Birthdays

Weekly Challenge 14-24
Birthdays

Hi everyone, Doris here with some
Pocket Page layouts.
For this week's challenge, we're celebrating birthdays,
and I used some papers from the
Jillibean Birthday Bisque Paper line and stamp set.
These products and so much more are available at

My daughters know that when it's their birthday, I'm
going to take their pictures, no matter how old they get,
and this year was no exception.
The first is from my oldest daughter's
surprise 30th birthday party which had
an Irish/Scottish theme and was held in an Irish Pub.

Next is for middle daughter who asked for an
ice cream cake this year, and milk :)

And last but not least is the baby of
the family who asks for the same thing
every year - a big bowl of chocolate dirt cake!

As you can see, I used lots of bits and pieces of the
Jillibean Birthday Bisque paper and die cut elements
for each of the cards - this is a great set!

Pocket Thursday 14-22: Father's Day

Weekly Challenge Orange Team 14-22
Father's Day
This week the Orange team is making Father's Day projects, and used
Lawn Fawn Float My Boat stamps and Authentique Anchored paper line.
These products and much more can be found in the

Hi everyone, Doris here to share a few
quick cards I made for a pocket page layout.
Even though the Authentique Anchored paper line
has a nautical theme, the papers worked great for this layout.
This picture is from my daughter Amy's wedding this past
December during the father/daughter dance, and
my husband was just dreading this part of the wedding.
They both got emotional as soon as the music.
How could it be that she was all grown up
and not the little girl who used to hold his hand?
Where's my tissue?
I used three images from the Silhouette store for
the layout to keep the cards flat - I love that mason jar!

This layout took no time at all - hope you like it!

Challenge #51 - Friday - Using Left Overs

#51
Challenge: Anything goes using your Left Overs

December 24th - 30th, 2013

Hi everyone, Doris here today with my last project for 2013.
I am a big scrap saver, especially of paper that I really like, and I must
really like paper because I have 4 drawers filled with left
over scraps from some of my favorite papers.
I pulled some out today for a simple and quick birthday card.

Who can't smile at a butterfly in the winter?  I used a small Hero Arts die to cut  all the butterflies which were sitting on some pop dots, and added a sentiment from a Paper Smooches stamp set called Sentimental Sampler.

Ok, your turn to show us how you use some of your left over papers!

Please make sure your creation post has a link back to Cuttin' and Stampin'.

Thanks for playing along we will be announcing the winners on January 3, 2014.

Challenge: Anything Goes with a Family twist

November 12 - 18, 2013

We are celebrating family this week.

Hi everyone, Doris here with my project for this week's challenge - Remembering Family. I do a lot of genealogy research and have a ton of old family pictures, so when I ran across one of my favorite pictures I decided to use it in my project this week.
This picture is from my Aunt's wedding 65 years ago and includes my grandparents, my Mom (wearing the hat on the left) and all her siblings. It's great to see them all so young, and happy and enjoying the day, and I'm so glad I have this picture.
I used some paper from MME Chalk Studio and the Kinfolk stamp set from Paper Smooches, along with a clear photo overlay and some Prima Flowers for this little layout that will I plan to put in a shadowbox frame. I also added a little wire Family embellishment from my stash to the top.
Thanks for playing along we will be announcing the winners on November 22, 2013. Please make sure your creation post has a link back to Cuttin' and Stampin'.

Challenge: Giving Thanks

November 5 - 11, 2013

We want to Give Thanks for all the wonderful things in out lives.
Hi everyone, Doris here today to share a fun little Thank You card.
I don't know about you, but I like to keep a few Thank You cards made and ready to grab when I need them, and when I got the Many Thanks stamp set from Paper Smooches, I knew it would be a new favorite to use over and over again. I paired that up with some paper pieces from the Bazzill Autumn Harvest paper pad to make this thank you card for my stash.

This stamp set is on sale right now in the Cuttin' and Stampin' store you can find right HERE!

Challenge: Autumn Harvest

October 29 - November 4, 2013

Hi everyone, Doris here with my project for this week's challenge.
My go-to style of card making is usually clean and simple,
but for this card I wanted it to reflect the bright colors of
the season as well as the colorful papers in the
Doodlebug Happy Harvest pack, so I did some paper piecing.
It really didn't take long, the leaves were cut with my Silhouette but
everything else was fussy cut. The stamp set I used is
Autumn Groves by Paper Smooches and is just adorable: you can
find it in the Cuttin' and Stampin' store HERE.

Challenge #41 Saturday - Chalk Board

#41
Challenge: Chalk Board
October 15 - 21st, 2013

Hi everyone, Doris here today with a fun little chalkboard project for this week's challenge.  Chalkboard paper and elements have been very popular lately, and I really enjoyed working with this MME Chalk Studio paper and embellishments, and Fascinators stamp set from Paper Smooches.

I especially liked the paper because the sentiment was pre-printed, looked like it was written in white chalk, but with none of the mess!  I distressed the edges, added a little strip of washi tape and was done!  I also cut down one of the dimensional element stickers and plan to add the recipient's name there.

Ok, your turn - let's see those chalkboard creations!  Please make sure your creation post has a link back to Cuttin' and Stampin'.

Thanks for playing along we will be announcing the winners on

Challenge Week 35 Saturday - Banners

#35
Challenge: Banners
September 3 - 9th, 2013

Hi everyone, Doris here today to share a few little banners with you.  I was so happy we're doing a banners challenge because I had just made a few for a wedding.  They were my very first project with my new Silhouette Cameo
and I was pleased how they turned out, but more important -
so was the bride and groom!
They wanted three: Just Married, Mr and Mrs and Thank You.  Take a peek:

They were lots of fun, and pretty simple to make.
Ok, your turn, let's see those banners!

Weekly Challenge #33 Saturday- Monochromatic

#33
Challenge: Monochromatic
August 20 - 26th, 2013

Hi everyone, Doris from Mom's Been Scrappin' here with my project for this week's challenge. Did you ever know exactly what you wanted to make and it just wasn't working? Yep, that was me this week - how hard can monochromatic be, right? It's all one color! I had CASEd a card design that I tweaked a little here and changed a little there...just didn't like it. So it was back to the drawing board for me, and I like this version much better.

Weekly Challenge #30 Saturday - Clean and Simple

#30
Challenge: Clean and Simple Cards
July 30 - August 5, 2013

Hi everyone, Doris here today.  I've been very brave lately and stepping outside my usual comfort zone on some challenges, but Clean and Simple has always been my go-to style for cards and layouts. I was so happy when I saw this challenge on the design team schedule :)

I love washi tape, don't you? I think it took me longer to pick out which washi tapes I wanted to use than to make the whole card. I used a Paper Smooches stamp set, black ink and a few strips of washi along with a few dots from a few copic markers....done.
Show us your clean and simple creations! Please make sure your creation post has a link back to Cuttin' and Stampin'.

Challenge: Scrap your Vacation
July 23 - 29

Hello blogland, Doris here today.  Summer and vacation season are well under way so what a great time for this week's challenge at Cuttin' and Stampin' -
Scrap your Vacation. One of my favorite vacations was a few years ago when two of my daughters and I went to Ireland. We took hundreds of pictures during our time there and it was so much fun looking thru them again when I took out that scrapbook. I've picked out a two page layout to share with you today to get you inspired.

My layout style is very much like my card making style, clean and simple, because I wanted the pictures to tell the story. Take a peek:

These pictures were taken at Ballintuber Abbey in County Mayo and was absolutely beautiful and peaceful. After spending some time there,
we had lunch at a small inn across the street and it seemed
that everyone was drawn back to the Abbey before we left.

Challenge: Ice Cream
July 9 - 15, 2013

Hello blogland,  Doris here today.  If you ask me, any time is ice cream time, and this week at Cuttin' and Stampin' it's our challenge of the week. Take a peek at my project:

I've been in a red-white-blue mood after just celebrating July 4 and used some paper scraps from Bazzill and my Silhouette to cut my ice cream cone, then a sentiment from Paper Smooches Summer Groves stamp set. Stickles gave the embossed vanilla ice cream scoop some sparkle and I was done! You just can't go wrong with vanilla ice cream :)

Come show us your ice cream projects at Cuttin' and Stampin' this week.
