WE LIKE, WE LOVE.

welikewelove magazine.

I don't know how this completely got past me, but I just realized that Issue #9 of welikewelove has been out! This especially excites me because they did a feature on me, which makes me quite happy. The issue itself looks so darn lovely- an applause and thank you to Alyssa and Liz!

(P.S: the whole issue, as well as past ones can be looked at for free or purchased in print on the website)

ten images of inspiration : there's more to life than books you know, but not more.

While flipping through this book at work yesterday, I came across this quotation: "bella cosa far niente, which translates as "it's beautiful to do nothing." These warm summer days, I am wishing for lazier days in bed or the bath with stacks of books beside me. Most of the time, I'd much rather have my nose in a book than out partying.

interior inspiration : the book lovers.

Few things make me feel more at ease than being surrounded by shelves and piles of books. I adore getting peeks into the homes of fellow book collectors- it feels almost voyeuristic.

bunny figures.

Sorry everyone for the delay! As you can guess, I am pretty busy here, so updates won't be as frequent. But I wanted to share these adorable bunny figures from A+R Store. They come in a set of two with a book by the designer, Mr. Clement. Quite wonderful. ($98)

3191 : a year of mornings.

Some exciting news- the ever-anticipated collaboration from Stephanie Congdon Barnes and Maria Alexandra Vettese, 3191: A Year of Mornings, is now available for pre-order! I followed their beautiful blog back when they were taking their soft and gorgeous photographs of mornings (they now focus on evenings, which I also love), so I am quite excited to see it all put together in a book.

"A Year of Mornings" collects 236 images—always taken before noon without discussion between the two women – from this uniquely 21st-century artistic collaboration. The intimacy of these photographs—discarded clothing, a view of a snowy day from the window, a table cloth—combined with their striking similarities in color and composition defies the reality of their long-distance collaboration. While clearly kindred spirits, the two women have met in person only once. Their friendship is maintained solely online, sustained by a shared love for moments of serenity, solitude, and peacefulness. The annotated photographs in "A Year of Mornings" radiate an aura of sweetness and light—the promise of a new day."

Available for pre-order here.

apples for jam.

I have had my eye on Apples for Jam by Tessa Kiros for awhile now, but have never shelled out the thirty dollars to purchase it, so I was quite happy to find it for half off at Anthropologie last week. I am someone who swoons over beautiful cookbooks, and this is one of the prettiest ones I haved seen. The cookbook is organized by color and filled with gorgeous bright photographs and children's illustrations. Although there are many meaty recipes (I am a vegetarian), there are still a ton of wonderful dishes throughout. Some of my favorites include: Jam Shortbread, Lemon Sandwiches with Raspberries and Cream, Spelt and Cranberry Bean Soup, and Brown Bread and Butter Ice Cream. All in all, it's a gorgeously designed book that will bring back sweet childhood memories.

From the introduction: "I have looked in the hide-and-seek places of children to find four-leaf clovers; dug through the coloring boxes of summer and winter and found many treasures. This is about whispering advice to a sister, swapping recipes over fences, sharing crumbs on a train with a stranger. I am passing on those things that I wish to know from people-the very stuff that makes me smile and puts a twinkle in my eye. The things that we hold, together with emergency cookies, in our apron pockets-that we take to bed with us at night."
