StampARTic Challenge - Bingo with a Sarah Kay

Hello - Hope you all had a blessed and wonderful Easter weekend. Hubby and I took a day of peace. Just us, and well... lots of animals. :0) It was a nice semi-quiet day with no stress or pressure. We both needed it desperately.

I wanted to get this post in tonight as I did a card for the StampARTic Challenge and found that it ends tonight  - so here is my card.. as I did enjoy the challenge.
Went back to one of my favorite Sarah Kay images for this one. Spring is Back. Totally love this image, the hair, the hat, the cute little ruffled top and all those flowers. I colored with my Copics, then die cut in a Nestie thin oval. The pattern paper is from a new paper pad I just got from Hobby Lobby... went in with a friend, didn't need a thing, and came out with paper... LOL But the colors and patterns in the Prima Madeline collection was more than I could handle. I caved and had to have it. I used scraps for matting around the paper,

The challenge at StampARTic is a bingo challenge.. I chose Flowers Stamp Ribbon... So the Stamp is done, my flowers are from the floral department... love these felt flowers on a wire stem! Don't know what made me circle around the oval, but I like it. I then added a bow and band of white seam binding ribbon.

Then I did the inside -
Same pattern paper collection, with more scraps of card stock. The sentiment is from the new Stampavie Tina Wenke Happy Birthday collection.

I loved putting this card together, I think it was the colors - these papers just make me happy.

Still some time today... I think I am going back to my craft desk ;0)

Thanks for stopping in -

Picnic of Daisies - for StampARTic May challenge

Hello - today I have something fun to share. I was surfing some of my favorite spots in blog land, and I just adore StampARTic - I have gotten lots of great inspiration and ideas there.. like the Napkin Card I made last month- This time I found their May challenge had just started up - and as soon as I read about it I saw this in my head -
The challenge is to make a shaped card with a summer and/or picnic theme - The Stampavie Sarah Kay Picnic of Daisies stamp was a must for sure! I went with a picnic for my card the front of the card is just the basket - and a larger oval for the back of the card.

My basket is 3/4 inch strips of brown core'dinations inked and then woven to create the basket. I used a piece of Tilda gingham paper punched with a EK Success scalloped paper as the top. I then colored up my image...
She is colored with my Copics and then gave some depth with my pencils. ( Copic colors listed at end ) Cut with an oval Nestie and then matted with a dark pink card stock. I gel pen stitched the edges and inked with tea dye Distressing ink. Some Mulberry roses, and MS frond and branch punches added to give the card some frill - Then on to the inside...

The back of the card is cut by cutting the top of the square card into a 1/2 circle. A piece of Tilda paper cut slightly smaller to fill the inside. I made sure that my sentiment did not pass above the height of the front of the card so all you see when the card is closed is the pretty pattern paper. My sentiment is from Papertrey Ink cut into an oval then matted with the same dark pink card stock. Now I wanted it to have more of an impression, so I punched one of the new Spellbinders fancy tag 3 dies, and the cut off the sides and used with the large oval mat.

I had a lot of fun with this one, and loved the new shape for me. Ok.. so it is square on the bottom, but it has shape on the top right? I hope they like it at StampARTic :0)

See you tomorrow for Just Magnolias and Hanglars Challenge -

Dust It Off Sunday - SK's Isabelle with a Special Fold to it!

So today's DIOS card is not a real old image, last season... but I was so excited to show you this project, and I have shared it on the Stampavie Blog, so I just had to pop it here too! This has to be one of my most favorite items I have made in a long time.

One it is something a bit different, and Two is turned out perfectly! LOL Following instructions correctly really does make a difference you know :0)

I found this after doing some blog surfing and coming across the tutorial for a Napkin Fold Card. Sounds odd... but I am totally in love with the look of it. I found this tutorial at StampARTic's website, you can see all the instructions HERE.
Love the vintage soft feel of this - Now it took some time to cut all the pieces and ink the sides of everything, but so worth it!

I used Stampavie's Sarah Kay, Isabelle with Puppy Cocoa... except I masked off the image to have it fade off the Die cut shape, so poor puppy cocoa didn't make it on this, sorry cocoa... I colored with my Copics, trying to keep with the vintage feel.
The side unties and the strap opens to reveal all the folding of the one 12x12 sheet of card stock, with all the glorious Border punching.
Then once unfolded it has a "Ta -Da" moment to reveal the sentiment inside. I think it is VERY dramatic, and it was so fun to put together. I will be making another one of these real soon! So So happy I came across the instructions, love blog surfing to broaden my crafting inspiration!
The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. The Papers are all GCD Ella Blue, Martha Stewart Embroidered Floral border/corner punch and Spellbinders Label Die 15.

Hope you enjoyed my Napkin Folded Card - I will be making another one really really soon - I had a blast making it, and love that it is so different!

Have a wonderful Sunday :0)
