Whimsy Stamps Inspiration - Autumn Delight

Howdy -

We had our first "cool front" here in Texas. And things are not cool, but they are actually very nice. Really gives the idea that summer is over and fall is coming.


Made me want to color up some fall -
This is "Autumn Delight" by StampArt Design by Kathryne.

  I colored with Copics - (colors below) And then found papers from Graphic 45 that were rich and reminded me of fall. I layered up patterns added my image, then found a sentiment also from Whimsy -

Busy Busy Busy around here this week - getting ready for one of our largest Antique Shows coming up... cleaning, pricing, packing and getting all ready!

Whimsy Stamps - Full Bloom

First I have to thank all of you for your sweet comments and emails. They have meant a lot to Hubby and I - Loosing Tuco has been really hard for us this week. Still doesn't seem real.

I took a quiet day yesterday and just puttered around the house, did a little cleaning, little laundry, sat and watched a movie, and finally finished the card I was working on when everything went insane. It was one of those odd days were the house was quiet most of the day, Hubby was gone helping a friend. I realized at 3pm I hadn't even brushed my hair and was still in my pj's. Didn't accomplish a whole lot but did. You know what I mean?

But it did feel good to sit and craft for a while. I have been working the past couple of weeks on a project for my nieces wedding this weekend. But just coloring and making a card was nice.

My mojo wasn't around but still kept on and I love the new image from Whimsy "Full Bloom 2"by StampArt Design - Great image and so fun to color.

Great for a card for a friend that you need just something sweet and special. I went for a purple with a touch of green for my colors. Found papers in the Papermania Lucy Cromwell collection that worked well. Kept it simple. I didn't do any sewing on this one. My machine has been all set up working on wedding project, and if I change it probably would never get it back...

Whimsy Stamps - Rain or Shine?

Howdy - another one of those weeks were things flew by - Hubby has been helping a friend with Coaching Little League. Well we all know that Hubby eats, breaths and sleeps baseball. So he is having a ball! (pun intended) But I had no clue that means THREE nights a week we are at a little league game! I am gonna have to get things a bit more organized and start doing more things over the weekend I am thinking.

But I have made time this week to work with one of the new Whimsy Stamps Images :0)

Adorable image isn't it? This is "Ari and Toby" by Katheryne, StampArt Designs - love he stuff don't you? That puppy just has to make you smile. The sentiment... well that is a one of three that are bonuses with the image!! BONUS! I had fun with some spring colors from First Paper Editions Black Canvas paper stack. I added a matching ribbon from my stash and then found a pearl flourish in my drawer. I cut out the sentiment with Whimsy dies.. first Notables 4 die, then I matted it with Notables 6 die from a scrap.

Real quick - Papers are from Prima. Core'dinations for the mat. The Sentiment is from Whimsy - Friendship Notables 2 - using the matching die of course - Notables 2 Die. Then new for me I finally got myself some of th Make it Crafty  chipboard embellishments that you can find in the Whimsy Store HERE. LOVE them and will be getting more. I just inked mine and then spritzed them with some Smooch!

Whimsy Stamps Challenge - Buttons and Bows

Have to have two post today  - my second is the Whimsy Stamps Challenge - the challenge this week is Buttons and Bows.

For my card I decided to play with "Special Delivery" -StampArt Design by Katheryne... totally cute!

 Just love this little guy pulling his wagon, I saw him as a good chance to do some 3-d shadowing. I colored him with my Copics, then cut him out completely. I then printed it out a second time, coloring him and the wagon in grey tones, then did some grass and the sky with more shadowing around him. The color version is then pop dotted onto o the grey version. I loved the flowers in the wagon... but then thought hummmm and punched out my own flowers and leaves and glued them in a mound to have even more 3-d effect. The centers to my flowers are Viva Decor Paper Pen in dark brown.

My papers are all Prima - so totally yummy! Love the vintage feel of these, they are from the Sun Kiss collection. I picked out three patterns, then with kraft card stock and cream colored card stock I matted and created the card. I inked the edges of every layer with Distress Ink Tie Dye. and then sewed all the layers together. Now I didn't want to cover up any of that pretty butterfly... so I cut his wing and slipped the image behind him. For the "bows" part of the challenge I added a light brown ribbon around the card, and tied a bow. For the "buttons" part... I added two wood buttons to the wagon as the wheels. My sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps, and is part of the Fanciful Birthday Notables set - love these, and there is a matching die available :0) I added some ink around the edges and colored the band around the sentiment with a green Copic. Then just cuz I am so nuts about those Viva Decor Paper Pens.... I added six dots... just cuz I HAD too....

Here is a side view of the front so you can see all the "pop"

The inside is finished off with matching papers the same as the front... and again left blank.. ready for anything.
