Steeplechase
TOP: It's time to replace some of those old worn out religious brand identities with new religious symbols. Here are two of my ideas to get the ball rolling.
BOTTOM: While we're at it, let's think outside the box and make full use of recent technological advances in the design church steeples.

The Beard Sail
I met up for a coffee with The Frog last week and endured an hour of solid ranting. I held on to my sanity (only just) by drawing him and also sketching my idea for a beard sail.

Hairy wild men
You could spend a lifetime exploring the Victoria & Albert Museum. After visiting the Shadow Catchers: Camera-Less Photography exhibition I trickled through the splendid Medieval Galleries and Cast Courts where I sketched these curiosities: a stone head with three faces, a small wooden figure of a hairy "wild man" from Switzerland, a painting of a similar "wild woman" with only her pink breasts poking out of the fur, and a superb carving of a man wearing a bonkers hat on the doors of Aix-en-Provence cathedral.

Beefheart R.I.P.
I was saddened to learn that Don Van Vliet aka Captain Beefheart died on Friday. I bought Trout Mask Replica when it came out and I'm still amazed by his originality and creativity.

No Aim Chomsky
Things we'd like to see, Volume 3....
Noam Chomsky hurling shitballs at people with lazy eyes, emergency parachutes for birds suffering from wing cramps, a Museum of Starving Artists' Shoes, the Sawbird who makes his nest from large logs, the human pedal bin, a cannon that fires alarm clocks into the sleeping enemy camp, a man-chair hybrid, and two new Olympic sports: ear jousting and tossing the halo.
