A 35-year-old man has been accused of decapitating a friend who allegedly raped his girlfriend.
Joseph C. Thoresen from Grand Rapids, Minnesota, has been charged with second degree murder after he supposedly beheaded 20-year-old David A. Haiman.
He was arrested after he ambushed the victim, attacked him and then brutally slayed him, prosecutors say.
Thoresen's girlfriend told police he was upset when she told him she'd been raped in the apartment they shared.
Haiman showed up at their apartment after Thoresen invited him over.
The suspect's girlfriend then started kicking and punching her alleged sex attacker.
Thoresen also hit Haiman and said he should not have raped 'my girl', the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported.
The trio then left the apartment to go and smoke marijuana with other people. They are then believed to have met up with another friend to take methamphetamine.
Police say they then drove around in the woods before pulling over.
Thoresen and Haiman were standing in front of the vehicle, when Thoresen allegedly hit Haiman with a baseball bat.
According to a police report he then stabbed him in the back and abdomen.
Thoresen then took the machete, decapitated Haiman and threw the head in the woods.
Haiman was reported missing on Saturday. Police first found his torso on Sunday morning, and then his head about an hour later.
The pair were listed as friends on Facebook before the attack.
Haiman first came to the attention of authorities early last week when he didn't show up to work.
His missing vehicle was spotted late Friday night, with Thoresen in the passenger seat.
The driver took off but was caught several miles later. Thoresen was briefly detained at the scene, the Star Tribune reported.
The driver told the officer that Thoresen was threatening him with a knife during the pursuit.
He also claimed Thoresen confessed to decapitating Haiman and stealing his car.

Last month Swedish police raided a refugee housing unit and arrested 22-year-old Mutar Muthanna Majid on suspicion of plotting an ISIS-inspired attack.

Four people are in custody in connection to a beheading and explosion at a gas factory in south-eastern France - and police are still searching buildings for evidence.
Heavily armed police investigating this morning's brutal terror attack in France have removed a woman and child from the home of Yassine Salhi - the suspected Islamist accused of beheading his boss and trying to blow up the American-owned gas factory.
He was known to factory personnel because he came in regularly for deliveries, Paris Prosecutor Francois Molins said.
Police swooped on the apartment building in Saint-Priest, in the suburbs of the city of Lyon, just hours after the 30-year-old delivery driver was arrested on suspicion of writing Arabic slogans on his employer's severed head and hanging it on a fence outside the nearby headquarters of Air Products.
Salhi is accused of going on to crash his Ford Fusion delivery van through the factory's gates before ramming it into several large gas cannisters left in the car park - apparently in the hope they would explode and destroy the entire factory complex.
The explosions were relatively small, however, leaving just two factory workers with non life-threatening injuries.
The murdered man - who French media say owned the delivery company Salhi worked for - is believed to have been killed elsewhere before his corpse was dumped at the factory site in Saint-Quentin-Fallavier and his head impaled on a fence 30 feet away surrounded by homemade Islamist flags.
Speaking before the raid on her home, Salhi's wife described her husband as a 'normal Muslim' who left for work as usual at 7am this morning. 'My heart stopped when I heard he was a suspect....I expected him this afternoon,' the unnamed woman told French radio station Europe 1.
Salhi - who is understood to have been known to security services since at least 2006 - reportedly told arresting officers that he is a member of the Islamic State terror group. He is believed not to have a criminal record and an investigation into his 'possible radicalisation' was dropped in 2008.

Oklahoma police said the beheading victim is the son is a highway patrol trooper, but that does not appear to be a motive.

I talk about a German lingerie ad where you see this sexy woman…she's got no clothes on, she's getting ready to go on a date, and she's putting on all this sexy German lingerie and she's sliding up the panties up her legs and hooking up the bra ...and then just at the final moment, you see her pull a burqa over her head and step out into the street…
And the message is that…these Islamo-babes are just as hot under the burqa as German women, and you can be sexy wearing a burqa and…Muslim woman like hot sexy lingerie [just as much as everyone else]…
The reality is, if a Muslim woman — a Muslim actress — had played that role, she'd have been dead. She'd have been honor-killed. Her father would have thrown her off the balcony, as happens in Sweden; or run over her in the car as happened in Peoria, Arizona; or chopped her head off as happened in upstate New York. No Muslim woman can say when her father says, or husband says, "Where were you today, honey?" she says, "Oh, I did this great German lingerie ad. Alton Nolen, a 30-year-old production line employee for Vaughan Foods in Moore, was fired on Thursday after getting in trouble for his performance and for trying to convert colleagues to Islam, officials told CNN.
On Monday, law enforcement officials were preparing to file a murder charge against Nolen for walking back into Vaughan Foods after being fired and allegedly beheading 54-year-old grandmother Colleen Hufford.

Nolen also stabbed another women at the plant. The company’s COO, a reserve sheriff’s deputy, thwarted the second attack, shooting Nolen, who is in stable condition.
Co-workers reportedly said Nolen tried to convert them to Islam after his own recent conversion.
And Fox 25 in Oklahoma City reports that the FBI is looking into Nolen's Facebook page. The page has anti-American rants under the name "Jah'Keem Israel."
The station said the Facebook page has several photos of Usama bin Laden and a screen shot from the 9/11 terror attacks. It also shows a man with a quote: "I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers: smile ye above their necks and smite all their fingertips off them."
Colin Clarke, a Rand Corp. terrorism expert, told Fox & Friends Saturday that the beheading was an act of terrorism and should be characterized as such.

ISMAILIA, Egypt - Residents in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula said on Wednesday they found a beheaded corpse bearing a note signed by an Islamist militant group linked to the Syria and Iraq-based Islamic State, accusing the victim of being an Israeli spy.
The beheading is the eighth claimed by the group in Sinai in under a month in a surge of brutal killings seemingly inspired by Islamic State, which has been internationally condemned for its atrocities and has been the target of US air strikes.

The men had been abducted by gunmen two days earlier while driving in the town of Sheikh Zuwaid, which is just a few kilometers from the Gaza Strip.
In a video released on Twitter, Egypt's most dangerous militant group, Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis, said the four men had been spying for Israel's Mossad spy agency.
Armed men in black masks stood over the kneeling captives as one of the militants read out a statement. Minutes later, the four men had their heads cuts off.

Details have begun to emerge about the man arrested for the murder of a great grandmother beheaded in her back garden.
He was named locally as Nicholas Salvadore, a 25-year-old would-be cage fighter who is believed to be a Muslim convert, who had been living a few doors from 82-year-old Palmira Silva.
Salvadore was under arrest and under armed guard in hospital today after the events in a street in north London yesterday. Detectives say they have ruled out terrorism as a motive.
Italian-born Mrs Silva, who owned a local café in Edmonton with her son Tony for more than 30 years, was found dead in the back garden of her home in Nightingale Road yesterday. Neighbours said a man dressed in black had decapitated cats with a foot-long machete-like blade and smashed the window of a car before running through rear gardens banging on doors and windows.

A man has been arrested in London after a woman was found beheaded in a garden near a home.
There is no suggestion at this time that the killing had any terrorist motive, Detective Chief Inspector John Sandlin told Fox News.
London Metro Police said they were called to the scene Thursday to respond to “reports of a man armed with a knife.”
Authorities said upon arrival to the home, they discovered a woman collapsed in a garden area. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers arrested a 25-year-old man near the scene of the incident on suspicion of murder. One officer was injured during the course of the arrest, police told Fox News.

The coalition of influential and politically-connected Muslim rights groups is demanding that the Obama administration implement a mandatory retraining program for all federal, state and local law enforcement officials who may have been subjected to materials they deem “biased and discriminatory” against Muslims. There must also be an audit of all federal law enforcement and intelligence gathering training and educational materials to identify and remove information that could exhibit bias against any race, ethnicity, religion or national origin, the groups demand.
Additionally, the administration must pursue disciplinary action against agents and officials who engage in discriminatory conduct as well as those responsible for the anti-Muslim training materials. Finally, the coalition insists that all federal funding to local and state law enforcement agencies be withheld unless they ban all training materials considered to be biased against race, ethnicity, religion or national origin. In short, these empowered Muslim activists want to dictate how our nation’s law enforcement agencies operate at every level.
