A two-month sweep of suspected child predators wanted for everything from negotiating sex tourism on the internet to possessing and selling pornography netted 238 arrests across Southern California, including a Buddhist monk, authorities announced Monday.
The sweep was part of a national effort called Operation Broken Heart, launched by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, a multi-agency effort. Operation Broken Heart was first conducted in 2014.
The latest operation, which was conducted in April and May, included agents with federal Homeland Security Investigations and child exploitation units from Los Angeles, Long Beach, Orange County and Fontana.
Those arrested included a 26-year-old Buddhist monk from Riversideand an Australian man who came to Los Angeles specifically to buy a 6-year-old boy who was being sold on the internet, officials said during a news conference in Exposition Park. Nationwide, 61 task forces conducted similar operations between April and May. A total of 1,368 arrests were made across the country as part of Operation Broken Heart, officials said.

Also earlier this month, “Glee” actor Mark Salling pleaded not guilty to two counts of receiving and possessing child pornography. His arrest was made last year at his home in Sunland by officers assigned to the L.A. Regional Internet Crimes Against Children Task force.

In some cases, a mobile lab maintained by the LAPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children unit would arrive on scene so that officers could examine computer hard drives on the spot to find out if suspects were in possession of child pornography.
The mobile lab, which was on display during the news conference, is supplied with specialized equipment so that hard drives can be examined without destroying the original content, said LAPD Officer Brian Arnett, who is part of the unit.
When suspects watch police remove hard drives, they will often start talking, Arnett explained.
“We have a 98 percent confession rate,” Arnett said. “We’re usually able to make the arrest on scene.”

Two men have been charged with multiple counts of murder a decade after a family of three was found dead inside their blazing home in Pinyon Pines, California.
Robert Pape and Cristin Smith were arrested for the second time on Friday after Jon Hayward, 55, and his long time girlfriend Vicki Friedli, 53, were found shot inside their burning home in 2006.
Friedli's 18-year-old daughter Rebecca was found in a wheelbarrow about 70ft outside the house, but her body was too badly burned for authorities to determine the cause of death.
The two men were first arrested for the murders in 2014 but a judge dismissed the case, citing an undisclosed 'legal issue'.



Becky was found burned in a wheelbarrow outside her house and her mom Vicki Friedli (above) and her long term boyfriend Jon Hayward (below) were found with gunshot wounds inside the blazing home.



On September 17, 2006, firefighters responded to a 911 call reporting a fire in Pinyon Pines, California, and arrived more than an hour after it started.
The blaze was finally extinguished and two bodies were both found inside the house.
Investigators believe Rebecca, known as Becky, was doused with gasoline in a wheelbarrow about 70 feet away from the house and set on fire first, according to grand jury transcripts cited by KESQ.
Gasoline was also poured on the house, with Friedli and Hayward's bodies found burned inside.
But Friedli died from a .40 caliber gunshot would to the head, and live-in boyfriend Hayward sustained a shotgun wound in the chest.
Pape, Smith and Becky had planned to go hiking the night of her death, but the two suspects said they changed their plans and did not see her at all.
Pape, who was Becky's ex-boyfriend, had spoken to her on the phone nine times in the 48 hours before her death, call records show.
The last call between Becky and Pape was made about two hours before her body was found.
Pape had been fired from his job at 6.30pm the night of the murders, and both he and Smith told police they tried to go to Mass at 7pm, an alibi corroborated by cell phone tower records.
The two told investigators they showed up late, so they went to James Workmen Elementary School to shoot a paintball gun instead.
But there was no evidence of their activity at the school, and their phones were either turned off or cut off from reception between 7.13pm to 10.34pm, a half hour after the fire was reported.
A search warrant for Pape and Smith's homes did not come through until 13 months after the murders.

DNA tests in 2007 linked one suspect to the crime scene, but the two weren't arrested until 2014.

Pape was indicted by a grand jury, and Smith, who was underage at the time, was ordered to stand trial.
All charges were dropped in 2014 due to legal issues during the proceeding against Pape, KESQ reported.
At a news conference on Friday, authorities said they were seeking justice after the case was 'mishandled'.
Authorities said they had gathered new evidence utilizing 'cutting edge technology' following a 16-month investigation.
Pape faces the death penalty and Smith could be sentenced to life in prison. Both are still held in custody.

A comparison of records by David Goldstein, investigative reporter for CBS2/KCAL9, has revealed hundreds of so-called dead voters in Southern California, a vast majority of them in Los Angeles County.
“He took a lot of time choosing his candidates,” said Annette Givans of her father, John Cenkner.
Cenkner died in Palmdale in 2003. Despite this, records show that he somehow voted from the grave in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2010.
But he’s not the only one.

 

CBS2 compared millions of voting records from the California Secretary of State’s office with death records from the Social Security Administration and found hundreds of so-called dead voters.
Specifically, 265 in Southern California and a vast majority of them, 215, in Los Angeles County alone.
The numbers come from state records that show votes were cast in that person’s name after they died. In some cases, Goldstein discovered that they voted year after year.
Across all counties, Goldstein uncovered 32 dead voters who cast ballots in eight elections apiece, including a woman who died in 1988. Records show she somehow voted in 2014, 26 years after she passed away.
It remains unclear how the dead voters voted but 86 were registered Republicans, 146 were Democrats, including Cenkner.

And then there’s Julita Abutin.
Records show she voted in Norwalk in 2014, 2012, 2010 and 2008 though she died in 2006.
Abutin’s daughter, Marivic, says it’s impossible that her mother voted.
But the Los Angeles County Registrar confirms they have signed vote-by-mail envelopes with her mother’s name for the 2014 and 2012 election, though she died 10 years ago.

The Los Angeles County Registrar told CBS2: “We remove 1200 to 2000 deceased records from the database per month.”
But the news station checked all of the dead voters from LA County on the Registrar’s website and found 212 of the 215 were still registered and eligible to vote in next month’s presidential primary election.



“It’s very troubling because it basically dilutes the voice of the lawful voter,” said Ellen Swensen with the “True the Vote,” a nationwide voter-rights group.
“What it does is every single vote that’s cast by a dead voter actually cancels out a vote of a lawful voter cause if they voted for one candidate and you voted let’s say for another, your vote got canceled out,” she said.
As Goldstein reports, it was all supposed to change after the hanging chads incident in Florida in the 2000 presidential election. Congress passed the Help America Vote Act in 2002, which mandated sweeping reforms, including a statewide voter registration system that would eliminate ineligible voters.



But California is the only state that’s still not compliant with the act. Secretary of State Alex Padilla hopes to have it compliant later this year.
“You’re not supposed to have dead people on the rolls,” said J. Christian Adams, who is with the Public Interest Legal Foundation.
“The problem is California has been the most derelict state in the country in implementing statewide databases that are required under federal law. They just blew it off for over a decade,” said Adams.
And in that decade and more, CBS2 found hundreds of votes on the state’s own database cast for people who have died, like Cenkner.

Perry Lutz says his struggle to survive as a small businessman became a lot harder after California voters reduced theft penalties 1½ years ago.
About a half-dozen times this year, shoplifters have stolen expensive drones or another of the remote-controlled toys he sells in HobbyTown USA, a small shop in Rocklin, northeast of Sacramento. "It's just pretty much open season," Lutz said. "They'll pick the $800 unit and just grab it and run out the door."
Anything below $950 keeps the crime a misdemeanor — and likely means the thieves face no pursuit and no punishment, say retailers and law enforcement officials. Large retailers including Safeway, Target, Rite Aid and CVS pharmacies say shoplifting increased at least 15 percent, and in some cases, doubled since voters approved Proposition 47 and ended the possibility of charging shoplifting as a felony with the potential for a prison sentence.
Shoplifting reports to the Los Angeles Police Department jumped by a quarter in the first year, according to statistics the department compiled for The Associated Press. The ballot measure also lowered penalties for forgery, fraud, petty theft and drug possession.
Public Policy Institute of California researcher Magnus Lofstrom noted a troubling increase in property crime inCalifornia's largest cities in the first half-year after Proposition 47 took effect. Preliminary FBI crime reports show a 12 percent jump in larceny-theft, which includes shoplifting, but he said it is too early to determine what, if any, increase is due to the ballot measure.
The increase in shoplifting reports set up a debate over how much criminals pay attention to penalties, and whether law enforcement is doing enough to adapt to the legal change.
Prosecutors, police and retailers, including California Retailers Association President Bill Dombrowski and CVS Health spokesman Mike DeAngelis, say the problem is organized retail theft rings whose members are well aware of the reduced penalties.
"The law didn't account for that," said Capt. John Romero, commander of the LAPD's commercial crimes division. "It did not give an exception for organized retail theft, so we're seeing these offenders benefiting and the retailers are paying the price."
Lenore Anderson, executive director of Californians for Safety and Justice, who led the drive to pass Proposition 47, said law enforcement still has plenty of tools, including using the state's general conspiracy law and proving that the same thief is responsible for multiple thefts that together top $950.

While misdemeanors, in theory, can bring up to a year in county jail, Fresno Police Sgt. Mark Hudson said it's not worth it to issue a citation or arrest a suspect who would likely be immediately released because of overcrowding.
"We've heard of cases where they're going into stores with a calculator so they can make sure that what they steal is worth less than $950," said Robin Shakely, Sacramento County assistant chief deputy district attorney.

California is among 17 states without an organized retail crime law that specifically targets shoplifting rings with tougher penalties, according to the Organized Retail Crime Resource Center. Results vary: Of the top five states for shoplifting last year, three — Florida, Pennsylvania and Texas — had such laws, while California and New York did not.

Apparently women’s health being placed second to PP profits does not bother Harris any more than the idea that money is being made selling the body parts of unborn children does.

California Police Save Woman Shot By Her Ex-Boyfriend

Kristin Bauer was in a critical condition in hospital on Thursday evening after being rescued by police, who shot dead her ex-boyfriend.

This is the dramatic moment a SWAT team rescued a 28-year-old woman who was held hostage and shot at point-blank range by her ex-boyfriend.
Armed police shot dead Kristin Bauer's former partner Andrew Bermudez outside an Office Depot store in Redlands, California, where she worked.
Heart-stopping footage shot at the scene shows the tactical police unit dragging a motionless Miss Bauer across the road to safety.
Police said the woman was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center in a critical condition, CBS News reported.
Bermudez, who was identified by Miss Bauer's father, died at the scene.
'He did fire at her. The officers fired at him to try to stop that threat and be able to try to save her life,' Redlands Police chief Mark Garcia said.
'He came to the store, looking for her. She tried to get away and he followed her out of the store. At one point, he did fire a round in the store.'
Garcia said the shooting came after a two-hour stand-off outside the store - from about 2.20pm to 4.30pm PST - which followed a domestic incident between the former couple.
The tense scene was captured on local television and Bermudez was seen stroking petrified Miss Bauer's hair as negotiations with police were underway.

Miss Bauer's father, Gregory Bauer told the Redlands Daily Facts that his daughter phoned him during the confrontation.
'It was like background noise. She kept telling him, "You gotta let me go. You gotta let me go," and he said, "I'm not afraid to die".'
He told the Riverside Press-Enterprise that the phone went dead moments later.
Mr Bauer added that his daughter had dated the man for several months but she had recently broken up with him.
The father said her daughter's ex-boyfriend was usually calm and that something must have 'triggered' him.

People earning $250,000-a-year should qualify for subsidized housing in Palo Alto, according to a new proposal.
City officials have outlined an eight-year affordable housing plan - with 587 units for reserved for the area's uniquely wealthy middle class as real estate prices balloon.
The well-heeled California neighborhood, where a plot of land recently sold for $2.7 million, is home to some of America’s richest entrepreneurs who work a few miles away in Silicon Valley.
With house price averages an eye-watering $3 million, even those earning $250,000-a-year are spending two-thirds of their monthly salary (around $14,000) paying off their mortgage.
It means workers such as teachers, janitors, firefighters, social workers, police officers and more are not paid enough to afford the local rent, driving up congestion as they commute in.
Now the City Of Palo Alto has outlined a proposal to combat the issue - with price guidelines unlike any other in the country.

'In most other areas of the Country, this income level would be associated with "above moderate" or market rate housing, rather than affordable housing,' the proposal says.
But in Palo Alto, this section of society - earning anything from $127,000 to $250,000 a year - is struggling.
The plan, tabled at a council meeting on Monday, suggests building apartments as small as 200 square feet with bathrooms and kitchens shared between neighbors.
Other options include co-housing communities that share kitchens and dining areas, and special exemptions for property developers who set aside at least 25 per cent of new-builds for low income families.

The city's biggest problem is that low-income workers cannot afford to live nearby, 'indicating in a large unmet need for worker housing in the City,' the plan explains.
There are far more jobs in the city than there are employed residents.
And the impact is crippling.
'Since many of Palo Alto’s workers cannot afford to live in the City, the imbalance creates negative impacts such as long commutes for workers both inside and outside the region, increased traffic congestion during peak commute periods, and increased air pollution end energy consumption,' the proposal warns.
In total, the proposal suggests building 1,988 new units for anyone earning less than $250,000 a year.
The average area income is $106,300. The subsidized housing plan includes people earning 120 per cent of that ($127,000) and 'above' - which would include those earning $250,000.
But implementing the proposed measures will be tough, according to Professor Norm Miller, an expert in real estate at the University of San Diego's School of Business.
'The only solutions to make housing more affordable are to add density, more units per acre and generally you need to add a lot of density like you have in New York City or to make units smaller as proposed,' Miller explained to Daily Mail Online on Wednesday.

$15 MILLION: The city has become a hot spot for Silicon Valley executives, pushing up demand for luxurious mansions like this one, which was listed for a cool $15 million.

'What is interesting in California is how hard it is to do either of these. People here oppose smaller units and density on grounds of adding traffic, the evils of all development foisted on neighbors who keep having babies that will have no place to live.
'Even a hospice center if proposed to be higher density than other housing nearby would probably be accused of driving up traffic to insanely high levels. Go figure.'
Miller, the Hahn Chairman of Real Estate Finance at San Diego's real estate center, last year published a paper that boldly declared Palo Alto was in the midst of a housing bubble that is set to burst.
There could be some reprieve for residents, he claims, will be 'when' (not 'if') the tech bubble bursts.
'This stick wealth has directly supported the housing market and let it escape the normal bounds of income only driven demand,' he told the Mail on Wednesday. 'These tech markets are thus more vulnerable to a setback.'
But ultimately, he says, 'the problem of historically low densities, large units and a NIMBY culture opposing all new development especially of any real density' will linger as long as Californians resist high-density housing plans.

We just learned that over 600,000 driver licenses were issued to illegal immigrants in California:
The law known as AB60 took effect on January 2, 2015. The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) expects a total of about 1.4 million people will get their license under the law by late 2017.

The rationale for the law is that they give California a better way of tracking these individuals. Really? There are 2.5 million people in California without papers. I think that the law is having the opposite effect or encouraging more people to go to California. Add sanctuary cities like San Francisco, and you have a state that does not take immigration laws seriously at all.
Over the years, I have supported some reasonable legalization programs (not citizenship) that allow many of these people to come out of the closet and work legally in the U.S. However, allowing a person in the country illegally to get a driver's license makes a mockery of U.S. immigration laws.

A woman who taught English classes at a Southern California jail was arrested Thursday on suspicion of helping three inmates — including an alleged killer — escape the lockup, and the men are believed to be riding around in a stolen van.
Nooshafarian Ravaghi, 44, of Lake Forest, was arrested nearly a week after the men — one an alleged killer — cut their way through steel bars, climbed through plumbing tunnels, made their way to the roof, cut razor wire and, using rope made of braided bedsheets, rappelled four stories to freedom from the roof of the Orange County Central Men’s Jail.

Ravaghi worked for the Rancho Santiago Community College District and taught English as a second language to inmates at the jail for about six months, sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Hallock said.
One of her students was Hossein Nayeri, who was awaiting trial on charges that he kidnapped and tortured a marijuana dispensary owner — finally cutting off his penis — in a bid to learn where he might have cached money.
“There was some type of relationship that developed between the two” that was close, Hallock said, but he didn’t know whether it was a romance.

The last time the inmates were seen was at 5 a.m. Friday at the Orange County Men’s Jail in Santa Ana, about 40 miles southeast of Los Angeles. They could have made the escape any time between then and late Friday night, according to authorities.
"The inmates cut through half-inch steel bars to facilitate their escape," Hallock said.
The men, last seen wearing orange jumpsuits, also had to cut through plumbing tunnels and finally made it to an unguarded area of the roof where they rappelled down to the ground by way of a makeshift rope, Hallock said.

The inmates on the run include Jonathan Tieu, 20, who had been held on $1 million bail since October 20 on charges of murder, attempted murder and shooting at an inhabited dwelling. His case is believed to be gang-related.
Hossein Nayeri, 37, had been held without bond since September 2014 on charges of kidnapping, torture, aggravated mayhem and burglary. Nayeri and three other men were accused of kidnapping a California marijuana dispensary owner in 2012. They drove the dispensary owner to a desert spot where they believed he had hidden money and then cut off his penis, authorities said.
After the crime, Nayeri fled the U.S. to his native Iran, where he remained for several months. He was arrested in Prague in November 2014 while changing flights from Iran to Spain to visit family.
The third inmate who escaped with Tieu and Nayeri was Bac Duong. The 43-year-old man was being held without bond since last month on charges of murder, assault with a deadly weapon, shooting at an inhabited dwelling, being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm and other charges.

When Kate Steinle was murdered by an illegal immigrant in San Francisco, the most troubling aspect of her death was that it could have been prevented. The alleged murderer had been convicted of seven felonies, and deported five times. He should not have been in the city at all. Yet even with the public outrage over this irresponsible action by law enforcement, the San Francisco board voted to keep its sanctuary policy, setting up similar scenarios in the future.

This reflects the unbelievable attitude created by Democrat-run cities that they can pick and choose those who reside in their cities as long as those new residents vote for them and keep the wealthy teacher and other public unions employed. It is a clear violation of Federal law done for profit and political power.
But there may be a silver lining to this cloud of corruption. These actions are so outrageous they have created an opening for a lawsuit. And on December 4, 2015 a lawsuit, filed by a Los Angeles Law Firm and Judicial Watch, may have far reaching implications for all American cities. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of San Francisco City and County resident Cynthia Cerletti. Cerletti’s lawsuit is based on California’s common law taxpayer standing doctrine and Code of Civil Procedure § 526a, which allow any citizen to sue government officials to prevent the unlawful expenditure of taxpayer funds.

Democrats in the U.S. Senate filibustered a measure to crack down on sanctuary cities by stripping funding from communities such as San Francisco that refuse to cooperate with Federal immigration law. The Associated Press (AP) have retracted an interview with an online hoaxster who claimed to be a survivor of the San Bernardino mass shooting, after Breitbart Tech obtained an exclusive interview in which she admitted that her story was a fabrication intended to fool the mainstream media.
The troll fabricated a fake story about the massacre, claiming that she had exchanged words with one of the shooters. She convinced the AP that one of the shooters said he was murdering people “for necessary ethics” and that he wore a shirt emblazoned with the logo “GG.” This was an attempt to pin the shooting on GamerGate, the movement for higher standards and political independence in video game journalism that has been repeatedly scapegoated in the media.
There are few examples of trolls who have seen their hoaxes spread so far, so quickly. Because over 1,000 media outlets around the world are subscribed to the AP’s news service [full disclosure: Breitbart is among them], the correction also appeared in a number of other outlets that reprinted the AP story.
Among these were the New York Times, the Daily Mail, ABC News, and the San Diego Union Tribune. CNN was also hoaxed by the troll, who was invited on to Andersoon Cooper 360, where she was interviewed by Cooper himself. The International Business Times also quoted “Marie,” and later issued a correction.

The radicalized San Bernardino gunman clashed with a Jewish co-worker over religion just two weeks before he and his Pakistani wife stormed an office holiday party where they massacred 14 people.
Syed Farook, 28, got into a heated argument with colleague Nicholas Thalasinos, a Messianic Jew who was identified today as one of the victims of Wednesday’s rampage.
It came as FBI agents discovered a huge arsenal of weapons and pipe bombs at a California home linked to Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik.
Agents discovered nearly 5,000 rounds of ammunition, a dozen pipe bombs and hundreds of tools for making improvised explosive devices at the property, law enforcement officials revealed today.
It also emerged that the US-born Farook appeared to have been radicalized and was in touch by phone and via social media with more than one international terrorism subject, which may have in part motivated the attacks, CNN reported, citing investigators.
And it is unclear if the earlier argument between Farook and Thalasinos played any role in the massacre – but authorities said Farook had left the party ‘angry’.

Kuuleme Stephens said she had happened to call Thalasinos while he was at work and having a discussion with Farook.
Thalasinos identified Farook by name and told her the 28-year-old believed Islam was a peaceful religion. She added that Farook said that Americans do not understand Islam.
Stephens said both men worked as county restaurant inspectors and regularly discussed politics and religion.
Thalasinos was passionate about pro-Israel causes and was known to rant about Islam on Facebook.
The New York Post reported that Thalasinos' Facebook page was filled with negative comments about Muslims and references to his conservative beliefs.
In one of his final status updates on Tuesday, Thalasinos responded to an anti-Semitic tirade allegedly penned by an apparent Muslim living in Ukraine, who railed against Jews and Israel.

During an early-morning search of a residence in the city of Redlands associated with Farook or his family, Chief Burguan said agents came away with a massive arsenal of ammunition, including 2,000 9mm rounds, another 2,500 .223 rounds and several hundred long-rifle bullets, along with 12 pipe bombs and tools that could be used to construct IEDs.
Burguan noted that the couple were well-equipped to carry out another attack. He added that Farook had no criminal record that police were aware of.
The New York Times reported that the FBI had uncovered evidence that Farook was in communication with multiple Islamic extremists both in the US and abroad over the course of several years, among them at least one individual who was a terrorism suspect.
According to Farook’s brother-in-law, Farhan Khan, he and Malik met on a dating website two years ago. The California health inspector then traveled to Saudi Arabia in 2013 to meet Malik’s family, and again in July 2014 to marry her.
FBI Assistant Director David Bowdich said Farook brought his newlywed wife over to the US on a 90-day K-1 fiancee visa. CBS News reported that Malik passed DHS counterterrorism screening as part of her vetting for the visa.

On Wednesday morning, Farook and Malik dropped off their six-month-old baby with Farook's mother, according to KTLA, saying they were going to a doctor's appointment.

In the hours after the shooting, more information emerged about Farook, who was born in the US, and Malik, whom he met in Saudi Arabia.
Farook's family was originally from Pakistan, but he was born in Illinois, while Malik was born in Pakistan and had lived in Saudi Arabia before coming to the United States, said Hussam Ayloush, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). Farook had an older brother, he added, who had served in the US military.
NPR reported that Farook's brother, Syed Raheel Farook, served in the Navy from 2003 to 2007. He was attached to the crew of the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise, serving as an information systems technician, and made at least one deployment to the Middle East.
Farook graduated from California State University, San Bernardino with a degree in environmental health in 2010, according to the university's commencement document. He later enrolled in a graduate program at the school but reportedly dropped out last year.

In an online profile reportedly created by Farook and his parents six years ago on the dating site iMilap.com, a 'one stop source for Indian matrimonial and dating services,' the health inspector described himself as 6 feet tall and said he didn't drink or smoke, according toABC News.
Farook wrote that he was part of a 'religios [sic] but modern family of 4 - 2 girls, 2 boys,' and that he enjoyed 'doing target practice with younger sister and friends' in their backyard.
He added that he enjoyed working on vintage and modern cars, and read religious books while enjoying eating out sometimes.
He was also registered on Dubaimatrimonial.com, a dating site that is the 'first and only legal marriage service provider in UAE' (United Arab Emirates), according to the website description. In that profile, Farook described himself as being from Karachi, Pakistan, but was born in Chicago and was residing in Los Angles as an American citizen. His religion was shown as Islam.
He also shared his thoughts on living a balanced life as a Muslim-American: 'I try to live as a good Muslim. Looking for a girl who has the same outlook, wear hijab, but live the life to the fullest.'
Public records suggest possible turbulence in Farook's younger life.
In 2006, Rafia Farook, who records indicate is Farook's mother, filed in a Riverside court for divorce from her husband, the elder Mr Farook.
She enumerated multiple instances of domestic abuse in the legal filing, and said her husband 'threatens to kill himself on a daily basis.' During one incident, she said in a court filing, her son came between them 'to save me.'

Dramatic aerial images showed the aftermath of the police chase, which came to an end around a mile and a half from the scene of the massacre.
The bodies of Farook and Malik can be seen near their shot-out SUV, surrounded by heavily-armed officers. One of them was killed in the passenger seat and later removed from the vehicle, while another of the pair appears to have bolted from the vehicle and been gunned down not far away.
Fragments of video from witnesses on the ground showed the killers and officers exchanging gunfire on the roads of San Bernardino as bystanders ducked for cover. The chase ended some time between 3pm and 4pm local time Wednesday - as long as five hours after the massacre began.
A source told CNN that the suspects threw pipe bombs out of the windows of the vehicle before the shootout with police.
A spokesman for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said the suspects threw a thick-gauge copper pipe out of the SUV, but no explosives were found inside. The fake pipe bomb was equipped with a piece of material made to look like a wick.

Federal drug agents have built a massive wiretapping operation in the Los Angeles suburbs, secretly intercepting tens of thousands of Americans' phone calls and text messages to monitor drug traffickers across the United States despite objections from Justice Department lawyers who fear the practice may not be legal.
Nearly all of that surveillance was authorized by a single state court judge in Riverside County, who last year signed off on almost five times as many wiretaps as any other judge in the United States. The judge's orders allowed investigators — usually from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration — to intercept more than 2 million conversations involving 44,000 people, federal court records show.


The eavesdropping is aimed at dismantling the drug rings that have turned Los Angeles' eastern suburbs into what the DEA says is the nation's busiest shipping corridor for heroin and methamphetamine. Riverside wiretaps are supposed to be tied to crime within the county, but investigators have relied on them to make arrests and seize shipments of cash and drugs as far away as New York and Virginia, sometimes concealing the surveillance in the process.
The surveillance has raised concerns among Justice Department lawyers in Los Angeles, who have mostly refused to use the results in federal court because they have concluded the state court's eavesdropping orders are unlikely to withstand a legal challenge, current and former Justice officials said.

Federal agents often prefer to seek permission to tap phones from state courts, instead of federal courts, because the process is generally faster and less demanding than seeking approval through the Justice Department. In addition, California law allows them to better conceal the identities of confidential informants they rely on to help investigate drug rings. Over the past decade, drug agents have more than tripled their use of wiretaps, mostly by using state court orders.

DEA officials said it should not come as a surprise that so much of their surveillance work happens in the area around Riverside — a vast expanse of suburbs and desert east of Los Angeles, crisscrossed by freeways that have become key shipping routes for drugs moving from Mexico to the United States and for cash making the return journey.

But current and former Justice Department officials said prosecutors in Los Angeles repeatedly told the drug agency that they would not accept cases based on state-court wiretaps – and those from Riverside County in particular – because they believed the applications being approved by state judges fell short of what the federal law requires. Prosecutors were particularly concerned that the DEA was seeking state-court wiretap orders without adequately showing that it had first tried other, less intrusive, investigative techniques.
"They'd want to bring these cases into the U.S. Attorney's Office, and the feds would tell them no (expletive) way," a former Justice Department official said.

Long Time Ago. Publishing Interruptus Continued October 27, 2015

After the charming Chinese Communists ended their few days of extreme criminal abuses in October 2015, they were immediately replaced by associates of the gambling rings operating in Cambridge, Boston, Medford  and Somerville, MA. For the following weeks these gambling ring associates and employees conducted a brutal campaign of intense relentless criminal harassment. Local and state police, and US authorities do not spend resources on gambling rings. They all participate in them, part of the families.



On Tuesday, October 27, 2015 the charming gambling ring associates in the Kennedy cult brought out teams of alcoholics to surround me as if I was one of them. It is one of the many methods they use to insult, to ridicule, to humiliate and to discredit me. First the California crime Syndicate, now the Kennedy cult surround me with hateful and hostile persons. Surround me with man-hating feminists and  lesbians. Surround me with white-hating black and brown persons. It is how to create healthy, happy, well adjusted persons. Just ask the psychiatrists and psychologists employed by these criminal organizations who direct the ongoing criminal abuses. These health care professionals promote an image as healers, love and avoiding hurting feelings. But they unleash the brutal power of police and government on an individual to destroy his spirit and his humanity. They stir up animosity among special interest groups who take turns harassing me.



The previous night (Monday October 26, 2015) at a school committee candidate forum they continued 45 years of character assassination scaring ordinary civilians away broadcasting elements of the slander campaign. It shows that with all of their wealth and political power in this nation, the same depraved spineless bullies still fear me. After 45 years of being slandered they still fear having their lies and their predatory criminal abuses of power exposed. That indicates what they think of me, trying to discredit me further. Recall that in 1968 this same organization adopted me when I was a student at Columbia University, to groom me to be a political leader as they do with others now in public office.



But in 1973 and for the next 42 years it was inconvenient for them to continue their support. They had no use for me as a human being. They abandoned me, and joined with the California crime Syndicate and Communists attacking me.  Thus began a relentless campaign to discredit me. One element was to tell everyone "He's a retired drug dealer." They employed two mercenaries, a woman I dated for three months when I was in law school, and an FBI informant to pretend to be my friends for 35 years. That was after government psychiatrists drugged me for 80 consecutive days using hallucinogens contrary to law. They thought I was a spy. It was also after the FBI scared me and used me in an impaired state for 15 years to fight organized crime, and did not pay me one cent. 

The government promoted three cover stories for what they did. "He had a nervous breakdown." "He is a drug addict." "Teenagers put PCP in his marijuana." But even if one believes any of the three cover stories the FBI still used me in an impaired state to fight crime families and left me to live in the streets for 18 months. It shows how disgusting the FBI and the Kennedy cult can be. It shows how depraved this organization is while they promote high minded morally superior issues, as they destroy individuals. 

In 2015 they employ gambling rings for the same criminal abuses which the California crime Syndicate performed against me for the previous 35 years. Public officials in local, state and US agencies, and their $2 billion taxpayer funded human services industry stand by and watch. The criminals do what they want on property owned and operated by the President and Fellows of Harvard College, the most prestigious and wealthiest ($37 billion) university in the nation.



Over the past 45 years one constant element of a double bind is police and Communists saying about me, "He's a criminal." The FBI said, "He's a retired drug dealer." for 35 years. They had other elements which changed over the years. First "He's a black, homosexual, Communist, Jew from New York." which morphed into "He's a racist, Italian, homosexual from Boston." At the same time crime families say, "He's a Communist." They each use their propaganda to justify harassing me. During the 20 years of my tenancy at Harvard University their superintendents began with "He's a homosexual racist." then reverted to "He's a Communist employed by the Kennedy cult." They tamper with electronic communications devices. Harvard University employs all the same technology to criminally abuse, and to control their tenants, as the government criminals use against terror suspects. Unlike government criminals, Harvard University hooligans do not obtain court warrants for their abuses.



In October 2015 Harvard employees resumed their effort to have me evicted. The latest gambling ring psychologist pretender joined the graduate student in psychology at Harvard University Medical School urging me to commit suicide. That is the kind of depraved people employed by Harvard University toward a tenant that they say is crazy. You have to admire their depravity, and the kind of politicians they produce to run the city, the state and the nation. Prey on the weak, and pretend to be a victim.

Next came the returning FBI homosexual squad who led the surveillance and harassment since 1973, ensuring that the Communist campaign trying to make me into a homosexual was actually effective. They made it appear that I was a homosexual keeping me surrounded by lesbians and homosexuals. In case I thought about talking with a heterosexual woman, they ensured the women I met were man-hating feminists, rape victims, police employees, psychologists, or psychiatrists. It is always thus. They added a new round of "He's not real." and "He's dead." I thought only Saddam Hussein had doppelgangers.

On Sunday, October 25, 2015 I was treated to a relentless day of harassment and provocations from a charming gentleman who is reportedly employed by the Kennedy cult gambling rings from above named cities and towns, protected by police agencies. Some report the gamblers are from San Francisco too. See how important I am? Numerous gambling aficionados work at Harvard University. The lead gambler-harasser of the day, is about 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs about 210 pounds. Has reddish brown curly hair, some facial hair and was wearing a green Oxford University sweatshirt when I saw him in the basement.



The on call superintendent for the weekend was in the basement attending a substantial water leak from a large pipe going from the first floor into the basement. The Oxford shirt, may be a wannabe psychologist, having worked in a mental hospital as a guard. They often think they are psychiatrists. I suspect he uses police or government files, which are notoriously inaccurate. Not just mine. I asked local police for any files, and the FBI twice. They denied having any files about me. They either lied or the files were destroyed contrary to law. That has happened in other jurisdictions. So it is not surprising to me. The lead psychologist-gambler of the day likely works for the gambling rings mentioned above with a Harvard University connection.

On Sunday, October 25, 2015, with a superintendent present,  I saw him wandering the halls with no supervision as if he lived in the building. He occupied the apartment above mine as all of the criminals do who harass me, disturbing my sleep, keeping me awake through evening hours, sabotaging my computer and keeping me under surveillance. That apartment is now vacant as previous ones were. Harvard employees provide access to criminals for the vacant units for harassment. The pattern that these creepy people use and repeat each time there is a new one is: first to harass, trying to provoke violence. They are told, "He's crazy." And the prevailing belief, obediently reported by journalists everywhere, is that if a person is crazy, they are easily provoked and are violent.



 
Failing to provoke, they next use young women as bait. When that fails to lead to an arrest, they use older women, often married. And when that also fails they use young men as bait. All of which occurred on Sunday, October 25, 2015. It suggests there is a limitless supply of mercenary morons willing to earn money interfering with my life. He is only the latest vulgarian to do so. One of the unlimited parade of hateful and hostile beings that I am surrounded by each day, every day. It indicates the priorities of police, crime families and Communists. But also for the FBI that allows this long term abuse, 45 years so far. Journalists report many murders, and attacks on police officers. How many people with long arrest records and histories of violent crimes are walking around with no one watching them? But for 45 years the same kind of creepy people have kept me under surveillance, harassment and character assassination. Consider how extremely misguided they are.

They think I do not know they are watching, harassing and using young women as bait. They are disgusting perverts, and reveal what they think of me. Do they think I will get violent and allow them to have me arrested? In 1990 the California crime syndicate hired Cambridge and Somerville police to harass me, and paid for a complete frame-up with seven attorneys, five judges, two clerks, and about a dozen police employees from the two cities. That was after I wrote letters to the chiefs of those police departments complaining about police harassment. No more complaints to police.  

The usual Harvard University superintendent suspects provided access to my building, to the Oxford hooligan. Harvard employees explain they are only following orders. It is not clear who is ordering the harassment. Is it from high up in the Harvard administration food chain? The President? The Provost? The General Counsel? Or one of the puppet Vice Presidents? The gambling ring psychologist wannabe continued the campaign trying to make me into a homosexual, then tried to provoke violence. The gamblers operate under the ancient profile of me being "a black, homosexual, Communist." They employed white-hating black people for harassment as I shopped for groceries. I suspect they also stirred up racial animosity, telling them, "He's a racist." It is what these thoughtful gentlemen do. But that element comes from the FBI which suggests they work as informants for the FBI. Watch for the history of Boston area gambling rings in my life 1971-1979, as soon as I am able to edit it into presentable form.



The Middlesex District Attorney (and the Attorney General of Massachusetts) ignores my complaints saying "He has no evidence." When is it the responsibility of crime victims to provide evidence? That is what the police (and the FBI) are for. When I went to the US Attorney to complain. They told me that they only act after the FBI provides evidence of a crime. Oh! That explains why the FBI in Boston is rife with corrupt agents. The FBI does not report themselves. Police (and the FBI) say "He's mentally ill." and ignore complaints in violation of the discrimination laws. Those laws remain unenforced due to the intentional ignorance of taxpayer funded agencies. Taxpayer funded agencies remain focused on white-only racism, homophobia, Islamophobia, and sexism. Disability? Not on their radar. Even at the Cambridge Handicap Commission they are not concerned. In October 2015 I went to their office, explaining what happened the previous week. The staff told me, "That was a long time ago." Huh?

The mostly gambling ring criminals repeat events from 1971-1979 in 2015. When I complain the government tells me "That was a long time ago." I see. The gambling rings harass me and repeat events from long ago. But when I complain to the government they say it is the present, that was long ago. It is the same with character assassination, "He's crazy." They scare people away to keep me isolated. But when I seek help from taxpayer funded agencies who are paid to help persons who are crazy, the staff and the mental patients say, "Don't come here. There's nothing wrong with you." We do not want non mental patients observing us. Oh. So the crazy part is only for non crazy people, just to scare them. In the real world of crazy it is non existent. That is just perfect as one of the crime families often says. At a candidate forum on Monday October 26, 2015 there were at least two psychologists present conducting evaluations. That is in addition to the police employees watching for violence. Amazing waste of taxpayer resources.

Police power is focused on harmless individuals. The police and their employees fear targeting dangerous violent criminals. They might get hurt. Thus they harass harmless persons in order to provoke them and make their arrests without endangering themselves. The TSA and the DHS do the same at the federal level targeting older women and children at airports for thorough searches, while terror candidates wear police and pilot uniforms carrying weapons onto the planes. It is pathetic how the government wastes taxpayer money, and does not keep people safe.
