Censorship Thrives On College Campuses

The Thomas Jefferson Center for the Protection of Free Expression usually hands out awards every year to the most oppressive and anti-free speech government agencies.
But the group took a different tack this year. Witnessing the incredible assaults on free speech at colleges and universities across America last year, the TJC gave its "Jefferson Muzzle Awards" to those institutions of higher education that demonstrated "excellence” in the categories of censorship and intolerance.
Many of the award winners were involved in highly publicized incidents on campus.

The awards were broken down into five categories this year, including both “censorship of students” and “censorship by students.” Yale University took first in the latter category for its Halloween costume incident, during which a respected professor was chased off campus by her students for suggesting in an email that they may be capable of selecting a costume on their own.
“The student response to Christakis’ email was swift and severe. Students’ called the email ‘disrespectful’ and ‘dangerous.’ Angry students surrounded Nicholas Christakis, cursing at him and calling him ‘disgusting,’ while several students told reporters that they could no longer bear to live in the college,” the TJC commented.

Former University of Missouri (Mizzou) professor Melissa Click took home the grand prize in what was perhaps the most memorable campus moment of 2015.
Click, an assistant professor of mass media studies, was captured on video attempting to prevent coverage of a public protest on campus.

“Students at numerous universities attempted to exclude certain viewpoints from being heard on their campuses in 2015,” the TJC observed, saying, “such efforts do all members of the community a disservice by stifling open debate and the ability of others to hear and challenge controversial ideas.”
Dozens of other universities were awarded muzzles for their anti-free speech efforts, including Louisiana State University, Northwestern, and Butler, all of which fired tenured professors for saying or writing something inconsistent with the administration’s orthodoxy.

So the question we should be asking is, are these just islands of intolerance, or is the cancer spreading across the country? I think we know the answer to that question. Led by the rabid left and aided by the Democratic Party, there is a steepening price for conservatives to speak their mind anywhere. And it's likely to get a lot worse before there's a chance for it to get better.
When politcal opponents can be throttled by accusing them of using "hate speech," we approach the reality of a one-party dictatorship. Criminalizing freedom of expression has already begun and, as Germany's descent into Nazism showed, it is not a huge leap from jailing people for expressing unpopular thoughts to jailing people for opposition to a leader.
The American people would barely look up from their smartphones to notice they've become slaves.

In a veiled reference to Trump at a recent lunch on Capitol Hill, President Obama declared he was “dismayed” at the “vulgar and divisive rhetoric” being heard on the campaign trail. “In America, there is no law that says we have to be nice to each other, or courteous, or treat each other with respect,” the president said. “But there are norms. There are customs.”
Are there? When I hear this sort of thing from Obama and his fellow leftists, what I wonder is: Have they not listened to themselves for the past 50 years? Do they really have no idea how vicious, how low, how cruel, and how dishonest their attacks on the Right have been?
No, they haven’t; and, no, they don’t. The Democrat-monopolized media, which explodes with rage at any minor unmannerliness on the right, falls so silent at the Left’s almost ceaseless acrimony that leftists are never forced to confront what despicable little Trumps they often are.
It begins with the Democratic leadership. Last August, principled Republicans opposed Obama’s foolish nuclear deal with Iran. Obama’s response? He compared them to terrorists. “Those hard-liners chanting ‘Death to America,’” he said. “They’re making common cause with the Republican caucus.” And yet “there are norms. There are customs.”

With the help of the media, leftists have even managed to bake their rudeness into the language itself, redefining standard behavior with offensive phrases. They use “objectification of women” to describe men’s normal sexual yearnings; “racial profiling” to describe street-smart police work that protects citizens of every color; and “climate deniers” (ala “Holocaust deniers,” for God’s sake) to describe those who call baloney on one of the great scams of our generation.
These off-handed insults have a purpose and a rationale. The mental tyranny that goes by the name of political correctness wrongly assumes that the human heart is infinitely malleable and that words can endlessly reshape the reality of its experience. Force people to declare that all cultures are morally equal, and morally equal those cultures will become; demand we pretend that gender differences are a myth, and gender differences will disappear; shame us out of noticing the color of a criminal’s skin, and crime statistics will lose their power.

It is in seeking these transformations that the Left has felt blithely justified in sneering at opposing opinions it deems racist, sexist, or otherwise hateful. But it just doesn’t work. The eyes see what they see; the heart knows what it knows. Bottle up the human experience in silence, and it will ultimately break forth in rage. Thus, the result of these last 50 years of ceaseless left-wing incivility has been not a rainbow-striped paradise of social justice, but the utter collapse of our civic dialogue as the Right now responds with vulgar cruelty of its own. “Those to whom evil is done,” as the poet Auden wrote, “do evil in return.”
You might say to me, as my mother used to say, “Two wrongs don’t make a right.” But I say to you, as I used to say to my mother, “They started it.”

U.S. Judge Speaks At Harvard University, Laments Censorship On University Campuses

Loretta A. Preska, chief judge of the U.S. District Court of Southern New York, said she was concerned about reduced tolerance of free speech on university campuses in a lecture at Harvard Law School on Monday.
While Preska argued that there is widespread “decreasing tolerance for truly free expression and open debate,” she claimed that the issue is particularly problematic in educational settings.
“The limiting of public discourse is already occurring, and in my view, the most troublesome of those places is the place where the views of the future leaders of our country are formed: on university campuses,” Preska said.
Preska cited the establishment of “free speech zones,” or zones specifically set aside for protest, as an example of curtailed free speech on college campuses.
“A campus with a so-called free speech zone is one in which free speech is allowed in certain designated areas, but not any place else,” Preska said, adding that “these zones allow administrators to banish protesters to remote or marginal parts of the campus.”
Some colleges have also placed inappropriate restrictions on speech to prevent cyberbullying, according to Preska.
“The University of West Alabama has enacted a ban on cyberbullying, which it describes as ‘harsh text messages or emails.’ Colorado State University in Pueblo now defines harassment as anything that causes 'psychological and or emotional harm on any member of the university community,'” Preska said.
She said these policies, although noble in their intentions, are overbroad in their scope.
Using these examples, Preska emphasized that “speech should not be censored based on viewpoint, offensiveness, or anything else” because banning statements that are unpopular or not of the majority opinion undermines values promulgated by the Constitution.
“Not only was freedom of speech the progressive ideal on which our nation was founded, it remains something that distinguishes this nation from every other nation on the planet,” Preska said.
Some students also recognized that there are social pressures to sympathize with the most popular opinions.

Are Universities Run By Intolerant Bigots?

The spread of bigoted racism and displays of abysmal ignorance at what are supposed to be centers of learning in the United States and Britain is saddening and appears to be out of control. In recent days, displays of that inverted racism and bigotry, including outbreaks of anti-Semitism and animosity toward the memory of Cecil Rhodes, the wealthy mining magnate who initiated Rhodes Scholarships, have been exhibited at Oxford University and Oberlin College. Now the bigotry is being inflated in nonsensical fashion again at Oxford, joined by absurd protestors from Royal Holloway College, London in March madness.
A group at Oxford called Rhodes Must Fall (RMF),

began on March 9, 2015, when a student at UCT threw human feces at the statue of Cecil Rhodes.

the Rhodes statue was removed a month later, on April 9, 2015.

on April 25, 2015, the president, a man named Mcebo Dlamini, of the Students' Representative Council of the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg (Wits University), a South African research university where Nelson Mandela had studied, told us in his Facebook post that he loved Adolf Hitler and admired the Nazi leader for his "charisma and organizational skills."
Dlamini was following a graphic comparing the State of Israel to Nazi Germany.

He also told us that every white person has "an element of Adolf Hitler."

he wanted to know why there were no statues of Hitler in Poland, Germany, or Austria, while elsewhere there were statues of Rhodes and Jan van Riebeeck, the colonial administrator. In a mystifying statement, this brilliant scholar informed us that those two were worse than Hitler because "Hitler only killed bodies."
Dlamini was not examined by a psychiatrist, but he was dismissed as president of the student body on charges of "misconduct." His criticism of Jewish South African entrepreneurs Barney Barnato and Harry Oppenheimer were not mentioned. Not surprisingly, the dismissal was opposed by the Rhodes Must Fall movement.
Interestingly, the bigots, becoming more physically militant and destroying property, buses and cars, and the office of the vice chancellor of the university, also vandalized the statue of Jan Smuts, who was British-educated, was twice prime minister of South Africa, and took part in the founding of the United Nations. In Britain, a group at Christ's College, Cambridge, where Smuts was educated, has called for severing a memorial fund left by him.
The Rhodes Must Fall movement spread to the 690-year-old Oriel College, where Rhodes had studied and which he funded. It demanded that the statue of Rhodes at Oriel, high above a doorway, be removed. The Oxford Student Union in January 2016 voted, 245-212, to remove the statue, but the College has not done so. It was immediately aware that potential donors were threatening to withdraw funds worth more than £100 million. It was forced to postpone or abandon a fundraising campaign, while saying euphemistically that the Rhodes situation was a reminder of the complexity of history and the legacies of colonialism.
As always in the case of bigots, hypocrisy was not absent from the RMF movement that argued, at best, that the Rhodes statue was at odds with "inclusive culture" at Oxford and that there should be "decolonization" of the curriculum. The case is clear. The RMF leader, a man named Ntokozo Qwabe, was himself a beneficiary of the Rhodes bequest and had been funded by the Rhodes scholarship during his time as an undergraduate law student at Keble College, Oxford.
The National Union of Students' black students campaign addressed Oxford as "one of the most male, pale, and stale places of learning in Britain."

Rhodes's company maintained law and order, but Britain reserved supreme control, and no slave trade was allowed. The ignorant students did not understand that in the British constitutional monarchy, the Queen reigned but did not rule, since the government made decisions. Those students maligned the innocent Victoria.
It is sad that this nonsense in Britain is taking place at a time and place, when the British head of counterintelligence, the Scotland Yard Assistant Commissioner, Mark Rowley, has informed the country that ISIS is planning a "spectacular" attack on British soil. Ten years after 7/7 (July 7, 2005, when terrorist attacks in Central London killed 52 and injured hundreds), an increasing number of suspects are being held. It is disconcerting that three quarters of those arrested are British nationals, 14 per cent are female, and 13 percent are under 20.
The answer to bigots is obvious and can be simply stated. It might take three forms. First, since they find Oxford so undesirable, why not go elsewhere to be educated? There are universities in Iran, Syria, Yemen, and Libya.
Secondly, those students who go farther and are more aggressive than mere verbal dissent and who engage in violent activity and unacceptable racist remarks should be prosecuted or expelled from college. Quiet, lonely study is not for them.
Thirdly, those who, like Qwabe, have accepted generous funding, originating from Rhodes or elsewhere, should give the money back. That would be a real rejection of "colonialism" and an indication of real moral principle.

For the previous week or so, a team of crime family members and associates conducted a brutal harassment campaign trying to provoke violence. They tried to recreate the police frame-up in 1990 in Cambridge, MA. The California crime Syndicate hired Cambridge and Somerville police for a complete frame-up employing five judges, three trials, seven defense attorneys, three prosecutors, a social worker, and two court clerks. This is a pattern repeated by literally hundreds of criminals, police employees, FBI informants, and Communists over the past 25 years. Although the court agreement included removing the arrest record after one year it is now 25 years later and it still appears on the state arrest records computer system. The records are now easily available to anyone and are used for character assassination and to scare people. The arrest occurred in 1990, after I wrote to the Chiefs of police in Somerville, MA and Cambridge, MA and their internal affairs units, hand delivered letters, complaining about police harassment. Ten days later, after I chased a man, later identified as a Somerville police employee, out of my building, the Cambridge police arrested me, when I went to the police station to complain. They held me for 78 days contrary to state law for a competency evaluation. I fired seven lawyers who refused to put on any defense. The lawyers were paid by the crime family and the police to not put on any defense. Five judges participated. One threatened to have me put into a hospital if I testified about what happened to me. Another ordered me to appear without an attorney to defend myself.

On Tuesday March 8, 2016 these bold criminals followed me to an event, took over the security desk,  and scared people at the event. My complaints to the District Attorney and the Attorney General only bring more harassment from the police and their crime family associates. That raises more suspicion that the courts too, are run by organized crime. There may be a few honest judges but they are captives of the criminals who run the courts.

Another contributing factor is that my telephones are sabotaged. Outgoing as well as incoming calls can be screened. The police and criminals, may be diverting calls to their own people to pretend to be who I am calling. That happened for many years when Harvard Law School students would pretend to be lawyers when I called lawyers seeking help. 

During the period when I moved 55 times in 22 years between 1973 and 1995, I rented a voice mail system. I was unaware that responses to my searches for new premises were being  deleted. I was directed by the remaining undeleted calls into residences which were controlled by police and FBI criminal employees.  

In his new book, Future Crimes, Marc Goodman explains how computers, phones, cars and other devices can all be hacked. Problem is laws are a generation behind technology. Criminals are not. They do not encourage the few remaining non criminal elected officials to do something about the problems.

After posting my dismay about black homosexuals employed by the government trying to provoke me by harassing me, they stepped off the playing field of teams harassing me every day. The black homosexuals were immediately replaced by an Italian-American police employee, I suspect Harvard University campus police, who joined with two black gentle ladies. What makes this perplexing is that hundreds of black activists complain about police killing black men, and institutional racism at Harvard Law School and at the Academy Awards ceremony and polling process. 

Within two days on the job, this Italian American police employee, already called me an "a**hole." He threatened me saying, "You might be hit." It is quiet certain he is a police employee. Reason is that organized crime does not announce to their targets, "You might be hit." They do not warn their targets. They just do it. But police, the FBI and Communists like to scare people, to control them. It is what government does best, scaring people about non existent dangers, e.g., global warming, racism and guns. "The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary." This latest team may be associates of the Providence, RI economic and political organization that runs that area. It operates extensively in the Boston-Cambridge area. 

If it is a white racist society, why are so many black homosexuals, and now black women allowed to criminally harass a white man of whom, these oppressed black victims say "He's crazy." But also why do local, state and federal law enforcement officials allow so many black men and women to harass a vulnerable elder white man?

Privileged black students at Harvard Law School, children of upper class professionals and graduates of Harvard University protest racism. One black activist at the University of Missouri threatened a hunger strike because of racism. He is the son of a railroad executive that earned $8.4 million the previous year. Black Lives Matter, is reportedly funded by George Soros and Google Corporation, and protected by the U.S. Department of Justice and the FBI. They urge their followers to kill local policemen. To say the black racist narrative is misleading is understatement. 

Multi millionaire and celebrity Chris Rock, hosted the Academy Awards in 2016. He called out his support for Black Lives Matter. He declared the Academy Awards which paid him handsomely, racist. With the approval of the Academy Mr. Rock brought 25 young black girls to the ceremony who sold Girl Scout cookies on live network television, to his fellow millionaire celebrities. He raised $26,000 more than some people earn in a year for his daughters. They wanted to beat their competition in their girl scout troop. Yet Rock and other black millionaire elitists and supremacists claim they are victims and oppressed by white racist people. They stereotype white people, as if all white people are rich and powerful. It is fantasy propaganda which inspires attacks on white people. 

Mr. Rock asked for equal opportunity for black actors and support personnel. But he does not want equal opportunity. He wants equal outcomes for black people. Whether they deserve the equal awards or high salaries or not. He promotes black supremacy. 

For 45 years the thoughtful and always vigilant FBI, assisted criminals by broadcasting many delightful elements of character assassination of the same white man. They included "He's a racist." "He's mentally ill." "He's a retired drug dealer." "He's a homosexual Communist." But being a racist, is not a crime. Being mentally ill is not a crime. Being a retired drug dealer is not a crime. And being a homosexual Communist is not a crime. 

So what explains police taking turns over many years, with black racist police employees and FBI informants, conducting a brutal criminal campaign of harassment, ridicule, humiliation, insults, provocations, sleep disturbances every one or two hours, and sabotaging my computers?  Why so much effort trying to provoke violence and trying to make me into a homosexual? What is their problem? Is there no crime, no violence, no threats from terrorism, no drug sales and deaths from overdoses to merit their attention? Why do so many state and US taxpayer funded agencies whose mission is to protect vulnerable persons, allow this to continue for so many years? What egregious crimes are these police and crime families covering up? 

One possible goal was to discredit me, to isolate me and to make me into a pariah. They succeeded especially well. Wherever I go people have a negative opinion of me, without having ever met me, or after not seeing me for fifty years. The defamation is saturation defamation. People actively seek to avoid me. The only people who come near me are hateful and hostile police, criminals and their professional associates, first lawyers, then psychologists who like to torment ordinary citizens. Two psychologists, one a Harvard Medical School graduate student encouraged me to kill myself. Isn't that thoughtful of them? 

They use their special privileges to conduct what can be called bullying an individual white man. I was surprised at how depraved so many people are in this country, especially at Harvard University and in Cambridge, MA. I used to think positively about people, that they were moral and if they were informed they would do what is right. But in this age of media, government and academic deception it is no wonder why so many otherwise decent humans are attacking a defenseless white man over 70 years old, for 45 years with no accountability. No shame among the upper class elite liberals who rule Cambridge, the state of Massachusetts, and Harvard University.

Harvard University lawyers repeatedly tell me, "No one reads your blog." Nonetheless it is obvious that "no one" is upset with what he is "not reading" on my blog. Black racist homosexuals employed by MBTA police joined the criminal harassment, ridicule, insults, provocations, humiliation, and continued character assassination on Friday February 26, 2016 as I did my lawful errands. After I boarded an MBTA bus, a fashionable couple followed me onto the bus. The young man wore a white robe. His female companion wore a full black burqa. They sat in the seats designated for elders and disabled persons. In all my 45 years of living  in the Boston area I never saw, except on television, a couple dressed in Muslim religious garb. But there they were. I was hoping that they did not yell, "AllahU Akbar," and then stand up. 

It reminded me of military commanders telling enlisted American soldiers and sailors not to wear their uniforms off base. This was typical. Military personnel who endanger their lives to protect the nation must hide their uniforms. But the allegedly endangered Muslim minority can wear their religious garb without fear in the United States, and sit wherever they want. In Europe political leaders suggest that Jewish people do not wear their religious clothing for fear of being attacked by Muslims? But that is 3,000 miles away.

I noticed through the slits in the burqa that the woman, who looked like a Muslim, was looking at me. I am no longer handsome. And even if I was, I wear a lot of clothes to keep warm in the cold weather. Plus I am a senior citizen, which shows. Why was she looking at me? Then I realized that I had published an article on my blog about Pamela Geller who fights fearlessly for free speech and against Muslim terrorism directed at Jews and Israel. 

I suspected this was an attempt by dumbed down police employees of the MBTA to provoke me. They think of me as "crazy." But also their minds are under control of the Boston Globe, The New York Times, NPR and PBS, who promote Muslim propaganda that the most vile thing anyone can do is criticize Muslims. These police employees ignore mass murder Muslim terrorism which kills Americans in this country. They ignore genocide of Christians in Muslim dominant countries. 

Muslims, and Africans, come to the United States and demand minority victim protections. Ignoring that there are 1.6 billion Muslims in the world. More Muslims than Chinese. They ignore the brutality in Muslim dominant nations toward Jews, Buddhists, Hindus, and Christians. They do not tolerate any other religion in Muslim dominant nations.

Generations of students in Muslim dominant nations, were taught in state schools that Jews are evil. They are taught to hate Americans and Jews. They are taught to work to destroy Israel. But MBTA police employees believe that trying to provoke me after publishing a report about attacks on Pamela Geller is more important than anything else. Not enough crime on the MBTA to justify working for the six-figure salary and pension? 

Muslims demand special privileges in the United States. Pamela Geller was targeted by Muslim terrorists in Texas. Two were shot dead by police when they tried to kill her. In Cambridge, MA and at Harvard University they only try to provoke me. They disturb my sleep every one or two hours, and sabotage my computer at home and public computers too.

On Friday evening February 26, 2016 and Saturday February 27, 2016 black racist employees of the Kennedy cult resumed their criminal harassment and abuse at my residence. They resumed their behavior conditioning campaign trying to make me into a homosexual. Recall that the Kennedy cult adopted me in 1968 admiring my political activity at Columbia University after the student protests. This is what former friends do to me. They alternate with the California crime Syndicate and the Midwestern Outfit attacking me. What are friends for? 

This is what victims do in Cambridge, MA and at Harvard University, while they complain about discrimination.  The Muslim-looking couple got off at the same stop as I did. I saw them getting up and in order to avoid any possibility of an encounter, I went to the rear exit. They got off the front of the bus and waited for me to walk toward them. The generous thoughtful Muslim looking man said to me, "Go ahead." That was so special of him. 

It may be the same misguided greedy couple, one white lesbian, and her black homosexual husband, who are in the Witness Security program protected by the FBI and US Marshals. Some people say "They're dead." When I was a student in law school before I knew she was a lesbian, I dated this charming woman. She and her husband harassed me on behalf of the FBI for more than 35 years. 

The FBI paid them to pretend to be my friends. One of their thoughtful efforts was to tell everyone I knew, know and met, "He's a retired drug dealer." They were given substantial money reportedly to compensate me (huh?) for 15 years of abuses by the FBI, who used me to fight organized crime for 15 years. During some of those years I was impaired after being drugged by government psychiatrists in 1973. They thought I was a spy, and used hallucinogens for 80 consecutive days. I was not under the care of any physician. There was no court order to permit this drugging. I never volunteered to be a human subject in any medical experiment.  

There is more but I enjoy doing things besides revealing how disgusting some people can be.

Fragile Harvard University Campus Police Censor Criticism About Role In Sexual Assault Complaint

Forgot to mention that negligent training is actionable, i.e., the university can be sued for that for damages. While the Harvard University campus police fail to protect women students on campus they abuse their privileges by harassing a 70-year-old white male who they say is crazy. One black homosexual police employee or officer stalked me for more than 15 years even after my complaints to the university office of general counsel. The same officer called me a "space cadet" to my face showing his animosity toward persons he perceives as vulnerable. Moreover he is a black homosexual who claims victimhood abusing his police power attacking a vulnerable person. What a guy!

According to the suit, Leader first reported Doe’s conduct to Harvard’s Office of Sexual Assault Prevention and Response in spring 2013, and again in September 2014. “I think that the biggest takeaway from the complaint is that she recorded multiple times not only that she was sexually assaulted, but that there was retaliatory and ongoing harassment from the perpetrator and his friends,” Zalkin said. “Notwithstanding, Harvard did nothing to protect her and make her feel safe on campus, which is basically the whole purpose of Title IX.”

Alyssa Leader, who left in 2015, filed a lawsuit Tuesday in federal court in Massachusetts claiming the Ivy League institution failed to act when she complained about the alleged abuser.
The lawsuit says Leader told campus officials that a male student who lived in her dorm had been sexually abusive while they dated but that Harvard refused to move him to another hall.
Leader says they failed to protect her from retaliation after she reported the abuse and one official even discouraged her from filing a formal complaint.
During a press conference on Wednesday, Leader said: 'Harvard has an institutional culture of ignoring and silencing people like me.
'My hope is that no one else will have the experience that I had,' she added. 'I hear my story over and over and over again from different people'
The lawsuit, seen by the Boston Globe, says Leader's alleged abuser got back at her by becoming threatening and irate when she resisted him.
He allegedly harassed her at her job in the dormitory cafe, and made threatening comments to her in the dining hall.
Despite her reports, she said, school officials did not issue a no-contact order and he was allowed to continue living in her dormitory.
Leader said she was also targeted by her friends, who would sit outside her job so she would have to pass by them when she left.
She said she was forced to carry pepper spray in her dormitory,
Living in constant fear, she never sat with her back to a door and blocked doors when she went in rooms on her own.
Harvard says it responds fairly to all allegations of sexual assault.
The alleged abuser was moved out of the dorm a month before Leader graduated.
She says it was too little too late.

They demonstrated that hiding behind the gauzy appeals to make history is a willingness to use brass knuckles to achieve conformity. In their warped vision, biology trumps individuality, and those who don’t agree are traitors to their gender.

Cuban-American senators Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz are routinely accused of running from their Latin roots because they are Republicans who oppose illegal immigration. Again, the suffocating implication is that being an authentic Latino means being a liberal Democrat supporting open borders.

Cambridge, MA Has No Gangs, Ahhh-hem! Ahh-hem!

Cambridge visitors can rest easy knowing that gang members can live in, but not conduct business within the city. They must respect the peace. So it was (mostly) with the Tsarnaev brothers, and now two members from MS-13. The recent shooting in Brookline involved a Cambridge man. Are residents of other cities safe when Cambridge men visit their cities? No mention of traditional organized crime families. Are we supposed to believe, since James Bulger was arrested, all bookies, drug dealers and extortionists evaporated in the Boston area. Is Cambridge a city closed to crime families? In the film The Usual Suspects, Kevin Spacey reveals that the greatest lie the devil ever told was that he did not exist. Is that what's going on here?

Migrants Grope Women In Sweden, Journalists May No Longer Use Word Immigrant

This is the moment a young woman documents street harassment in Sweden, with at least two men asking her for sex after another allegedly groped her.
The video has emerged on social media this week, and is believed to have been filmed in Södermanland County, west of Stockholm.



The young woman appears to have been groped by one of the men's friend as she is walking in the street, and has begun filming as she confronts the men.
However, instead of an apology for their friend's behaviour, one of the men asks her for sexual favours, appearing to take her for a prostitute.
The shaky video is likely to have been filmed in recent months as there is snow on the ground where the woman confronts the men.
It starts with a man asking the woman who is filming if he can have sex with her, and while he cannot be seen properly in the video, he is speaking Swedish with a slight accent.
After she responds in disbelief, he repeats his question, asking her again if he can 'make' sex with her.
She asks the men if they think it's ok for their friend to grope her, but at least one follows her and repeats his requisition if he can 'make' sex with her.
The young woman is outraged, and tells the men to leave her alone, and starts walking away from them.



He then asks her why not, and tells her he is willing to pay her, to which she replies: 'Do you think I'm a whore?'
The man only repeats his offer to pay her for sex, at which point the video cuts out.
Although his background has not been verified, the man in the video keeps using the word 'make' instead of 'have' when asking the woman for sex, indicating that he is not a native Swedish speaker.

Harvard University Medical School Teaching Hospital Fires Respected Tenured Urologist For Speaking About Unhealthy Behavior

Here's a legal remedy. In Massachusetts where the hospital is, state law, MGL Chapter 265, Section 37, the civil rights statute, makes it a felony to intimidate a person in the free exercise of a constitutionally protected right. It applies to public officials and private individuals. The US Congress is considering a new law to protect speech in online comments about goods and services by customers. Currently some vendors punish, actually impose fines under their conditions of service for people who disparage the goods or services. There is a good discussion of this issue broadcast on C-Span at this link. JANUARY 15, 2016 Consumer Freedom of Expression Online. This proposed law may apply to Dr. Church too.  Panelists talked about gag clauses that prevent consumers from posting negative reviews of businesses. US Rep. A well-loved and respected doctor with a background in sexual-risk behaviors has been expelled from one of the United States’ most prestigious and top-ranked medical centers after he raised evidence-based health risk concerns over the center’s decision to endorse and celebrate the homosexual lifestyle.



Urologist Dr. Paul Church, a 65-year-old grandfather of 6, was expelled from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in Boston, Massachusetts, in March on the grounds that he had violated BIDMC’s “established standards of professional conduct” by using the center’s electronic information system “to communicate your unsolicited views about homosexuality that were offensive to BIDMC staff.”
“The MEC [Medical Executive Committee] has recommended imposition of disciplinary action, in the form of revocation of your appointment to the Medical Staff,” the March 30 letter of expulsion singed by BIDMC President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Kevin Tab stated.
Church called the medical center “so indoctrinated with a worldview” supportive of the LGBTQ agenda that it sees this movement as “beyond reproach,” even to the extent of viewing someone as a bigot and culpable of misconduct charges for raising legitimate criticism about the center’s promotion of this movement and its activities.

Dr. Church, a member of the Harvard Medical School faculty, has worked as a urologist at the center for nearly 30 years, conducting research on prostate and bladder cancer. He has also offered his medical talents to the poor on numerous occasions during volunteer missions to Mexico and Africa.
It was 11 years ago that Church began to experience censorship and suppression from BIDMC officials, reported Mass Resistance. At this time, Church and other like-minded colleagues repeatedly raised concern with officials over the center’s decision to not only endorse the homosexual lifestyle by hosting an annual “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Achievement Award ceremony,” but to involve staff in LGBTQ events including participation in Boston’s annual “Gay Pride Week.”

“The evidence is irrefutable that behaviors common within the homosexual community are unhealthy and high risk for a host of serious medical consequences, including STD's, HIV and AIDS, anal cancer, hepatitis, parasitic intestinal infections, and psychiatric disorders,” Church submitted to officials via the center’s communication system after receiving an LGBT-related communication.

Church called it “all together inappropriate” for BIDMC to “endorse, affirm, or encourage the behaviors ‘celebrated’ by Gay Pride Week.”
“This action again jeopardizes the credibility of BIDMC as a healthcare institution and dishonors a large proportion of its community who continue to hold to the conviction that homosexuality is unnatural and immoral,” he wrote.
When Church realized his submissions were being systemically ignored by officials, he would occasionally post them on the center’s internal electronic messaging board.

In 2007, when Church once again responded to the center’s invitation to attend an LGBTQ-themed event, instead of addressing his concerns, the center’s president at the time, Paul Levy, posted excerpts of the complaint — with no names attached — on his own personal blog.

Levy felt compelled to point out in a response to one comment that Church’s “personal beliefs are not transmitted to patients and do not affect his treatment of patients who come to see him. I felt I should respect his statement, and, indeed, we have received no complaints that would indicate otherwise.”

Church found himself being investigated by the head of his department, Chief of Surgery Dr. Eliot Chaikof, on “harassment” charges on account of his offer to appear in the center’s LGBTQ promo video. Church was told he had “crossed a line” and was either facing suspension or having his staff privileges entirely revoked. He was given the option to voluntarily resign.

“This investigation is also not about whether you agree with my worldview or convictions. What it is about is a fundamental freedom of expression of dissenting ideologies and even more than that, it is about an illogical, inappropriate policy decision on the part of the medical institution that flies in the face of our greater mission of promoting healthy behaviors and lifestyles.”

But instead of siding with Church’s evidence-based concerns, the committee reprimanded him for violating the center’s policy against “harassment and discrimination in the workplace” and for sending what it called “inappropriate content” through the center’s internal electronic messaging board.
“Your opposition to diversity training and to BIDMC’s support for the annual Gay Pride Week events has been expressed in offensive terms and, at times, in a discourteous manner,” the committee stated in its November 2011 letter to Church.

The committee attempted to muzzle Church, warning him that if he did not immediately cease communicating in the workplace his “opinion about sexual orientation, homosexuality or other protected status” his staff privileges would be revoked.
In April 2012, Church requested that BIDMC’s communications department not send him further notices regarding LGBTQ activities. His request was ignored. Between 2013-14 Church continued to receive an ever-increasing number of emails and notices affirmative of the LGBTQ lifestyle.
To one such communication received in 2013 he responded: “Celebrating sexual perversions is highly inappropriate, especially in the context of a medical center that should be aware of the negative health consequences of high risk behaviors. It also ignores and dishonors the religious convictions and moral objections that many members of the hospital community share who are opposed to these behaviors.”

“The data comes from credible sources like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and shows that [skyrocketing rates of sexually transmitted diseases] is primarily a result of men who have sex with men and those who engage in anal intercourse. The latest statistics that CDC has is that men who have sex with men account for two-thirds of new infection of HIV and that they are the only group where syphilis is on the increase.”
“The point is that [homosexual practices and behaviors] are not harmless. There are considerable negative medical consequences [when engaging in these practices],” he said.

“When a hospital tells somebody that you can’t tell the truth about serious health issues because it might hurt somebody’s feelings or that it’s not politically correct, that’s terribly frightening.”
“Health driven by ideology puts people at risk because we’re no longer talking about what is truly healthy, we’re talking about pushing a position that could be totally contrary to good health practices,” he said.

PBS Broadcasts Feature Showing Persons With Disabilties as Human Beings

This couple appears in the film to be healthy, handsome and normal. 

After a few years of pestering, with retaliatory threats because of my repeated questions, why persons with disabilities were never portrayed on taxpayer funded PBS stations in Boston, the stations actually (will wonders never cease?) broadcast a few full length features by independent videographers. The one being broadcast in January 2016 on WGBH-TV Boston and other PBS stations shows five people diagnosed with autism and their thoughts on love. They appear to be no different than thoughts expressed by poets and philosophers through the ages, and ordinary people alive today. The definitions expressed are pretty good. Two of the persons shown do not appear to have any serious illness. Nonetheless it is curious that the producer focused on love. Human services industry professionals assist people they declare disabled. Do they ever encourage them to enjoy love and romantic relationships as other people do?


Then there are three (of six) cable access television stations, CCTV, in Cambridge, MA (which receives about $1 million each year from the City). The executive director with a straight face explained to me that they could not find any features showing persons with disabilities to broadcast, as the reason why persons with disabilities seldom appeared on that station. That is Cambridge, MA the host city of Harvard University, MIT and Lesley University. The morally superior city which has a misguided self image as holier than thou.


Permanent host of PBS Greater Boston James Braude, former Cambridge, MA City Councilor omits persons with disabilities from appearing as guests on his show. He continues the tradition of Emily Rooney his predecessor.

Banning persons with disabilities is bad enough. The same show invites black people, women, homosexuals and Muslims to speak about how they experience discrimination. In Braude's mind everybody loves people with disabilities. Not so. They just don't think about them. For Braude every time there is a mass shooting he expresses a bigoted view, stereotyping people with disabilities as dangerous, violent and likely to take up arms and shoot up a theater or school. Braude objects vigorously to stereotyping black people, women, homosexuals and Muslims. But not so much for persons with disabilities, who he continues to insult on his taxpayer funded television show.

The same with CBS News' prestigous commentator, Andy Rooney's daughter, Emily Rooney. She was news director at WCVB-TV, Boston before she moved to public television. She now hosts a weekly show called Beat The Press, where her guests attack and ridicule conservative media errors, but ignore liberal bias. It is humorous to watch them make fools of themselves. Rooney refused to invite persons with disabilities on Greater Boston when she was the host. On Beat The Press she has a regular black lesbian, who hosts the Basic Black show, a few homosexuals, other black Harvard University elitists, but never, never anyone with a disability. For Rooney people with disabilities have no ability to repeat the liberal mantra and are unable to criticize, to listen to, or to read what is written, broadcast, published and posted online.

Taxpayer funded WGBH-TV, Boston's PBS station has a weekly show called Basic Black. Only upper class professional black people, e.g., professors, celebrities, journalists, are permitted on the show, which focuses on how black people can get more power and more money. They discuss how racist white people are, and how they enjoy privileges, which black people do not. People with disabilities are never seen on Basic Black or on WGBH, except as noted herein in recent days on independent shows. Not even black people with disabilities. That too is remarkable.

Harvard University when confronted with its bias against disability, marches out the few black disabled students they allow to matriculate. Never are white people with disabilities recognized at Harvard University. That is a fact. Over the past 20 years I am a tenant at a building owned and operated by the President and Fellows of Harvard College. Harvard University campus police employees and building superintendents conducted and conduct a brutal criminal harassment campaign every day and every night. They disturb my sleep every one or two hours. They provoke, insult, ridicule, and humiliate me saying "He's crazy." But when I seek assistance from state and local taxpayer funded human services agencies they tell me, "There's nothing wrong with you." Their students tamper with my home computer, accessing it remotely to sabotage my use. For the elite at Harvard University and on public TV, disabled people are preferred targets for criminal abuse and bullying. No one listens to them and no one gives them a platform to petition for equal treatment by the four major approved victim groups.

Faculty member Erika Christakis, who runs courses on child development and psychology, has decided not to teach classes from the start of the spring semester, the Ivy League university announced via its website on Monday.
'I have great respect and affection for my students but I worry that the current climate at Yale is not, in my view, conducive to the civil dialogue and open inquiry required to solve our urgent societal problems,' Mrs Christakis said in an email to The Washington Post.

After the march, dozens of faculty members contributed to an open letter showing support for Christakis.
University President Peter Salovey held a four-hour forum with students to hear their grievances and then sent a campus-wide email saying he was deeply troubled by the atmosphere there.


One student launched into a expletive-ridden rant at Nicholas Christakis (above), after he was trying to tell her why he felt the university should not censor what people wear with regard to Halloween costumes.

The school is ultimately responsible for the chill on free speech, according to Foundation for Individual Rights in Education.
"While Yale did eventually get around to issuing a statement in favor of free expression, it’s hard to imagine that Erika or Nicholas Christakis would have decided to quit teaching at Yale and take a sabbatical, respectively, had Dean Holloway or President [Peter] Salovey consistently shown their support for free expression through their words and actions on campus," said FIRE's Robert Shibley.
The issue of free expression on campus has come into sharp relief on several campuses, with students calling for “safe zones” and speech codes where words and deeds deemed offensive are barred. Erika Christakis provoked outrage when she sent an email to Silliman residents questioning the desire to find offense in Halloween costumes.
“Is there no room anymore for a child or young person to be a little bit obnoxious… a little bit inappropriate or provocative or, yes, offensive?” Christakis wrote. “American universities were once a safe space not only for maturation but also for a certain regressive, or even transgressive, experience; increasingly, it seems, they have become places of censure and prohibition.”

Snowflakes at Williams College Melt After Leftist Rant About Hurt Feelings

Today's college students having been taught in high school to hate America, and to ignore the US Constitution have no clue that the purpose of the First Amendment is to protect speech you hate. They are more concerned with not hurting feelings or claims about hurt feelings than learning the truth. This will not have a good ending.

Williams College students invited Suzanne Venker, a writer and longtime critic of feminism, to speak Tuesday night, but changed their minds and took back the invite for her talk, "One Step Forward, Ten Steps Back: Why Feminism Fails."
Venker had been invited to participate in a student-run, alumni-funded speaking series at Williams called "Uncomfortable Learning." The program’s purpose is to expose students to controversial voices and opinions they might not otherwise hear. Many of the speakers tend to be conservative or people whose views don't square with those of most students.

The students who run the series decided to cancel the event, co-president Zach Wood explained, after its Facebook page began to attract acerbic comments and “things got a little out of hand.”
The page has since been deleted, but one comment, which Wood quotes in an article he posted, said, “When you bring a misogynistic, white supremacist men’s rights activist to campus in the name of ‘dialogue’ and ‘the other side,’ you are not only causing actual mental, social, psychological and physical harm to students, but you are also -- paying -- for the continued dispersal of violent ideologies that kill our black and brown (trans) femme sisters … you are dipping your hands in their blood, Zach Wood.”
The concern, Wood explained, was that “people would get riled up while she was speaking,” maybe even throw things, and there wasn’t time before the event to organize security. “You never know,” he said. “We’re just trying to think ahead here. The last thing we wanted to do was do something destructive.”
Still, Wood said, “If it was just my decision, I would have brought Venker to campus …. Suzanne Venker’s views are views that are held by millions of Americans whether we like it or not, and if we want to push back against them, we have to try to understand them.”

Many critics of academe say that speakers are routinely disinvited to campuses for having conservative views. In some of the most prominent of these cases, speakers, hearing of protests planned, have withdrawn. In this case, the invitation was withdrawn after student backlash over the speaker's political views. The decision was made by student organizers, not the college, as Venker initially charged.

Warwick University and its students’ union have been criticized before for creating a campus atmosphere hostile to free speech. Spiked gave the students’ union a red (worst) rating and the university itself a yellow rating in its Free Speech University Rankings. What’s new here isn’t the effort to suppress speech, but the positive outcome.
The moral? Firm and outspoken support for free speech is an effective tool against politically correct speech suppression.

The show opted to drop the piece, which remained listed in the program and online. The move was condemned by the Index on Censorship, but major celebrities did not speak out about it as they did over the Warwick University Student Union ban. Perhaps they did not know about it.

The threat of radical Islam is not shrinking, but growing. As it grows, decisions about whether to speak out about, expose, and confront it have become more widespread and urgent. Unfortunately, the counter-pressures not to do so – be they fear of physical violence, ideological disdain, and intimidation (political correctness) or the more mundane one of cost – often overwhelm the impulse to speak out.

Several students at the College of DuPage were told to cease or be "locked up" Friday as they attempted to collect signatures for a petition urging the school to improve its free speech policies.
The two students, along with an advisor from Turning Point USA who was helping them organize a chapter at DuPage, were on campus inviting passersby to sign up for the club and/or sign the petition—and were also distributing pocket Constitutions and non-partisan flyers stating “America is a free speech zone”—when they were approached by campus police.

Most of Friday’s altercation was caught on video and shared with Campus Reform. The video begins with the conversation already in progress, as the group is questioning the officer about why they are not allowed to do what they are doing.
Enders asks the officer, "[w]hat are the rules for doing this kind of stuff on campus?"



"You go to the Student Life office, and they give you a permit to do so," the officer replies.
"So you need a permit to ..."
"Yeah, because you can’t have everybody out here doing this," the officer tells him. "Otherwise you’d have stuff lined up all along here, everybody having a different view and a different point, so you can’t do that."
Kara Hamilton, the TPUSA representative, then presses the point, asking, "So, like, free speech ...?"
"It’s not free speech, ma’am," the officer informs her. "Nobody’s stopping you from free speech, but you can’t solicit out here, and basically you are—you’re soliciting your opinions. Okay? And you need to go get a permit."
"Is it a commodity in any way?" Enders interjects. "Is speech a commodity?"
"Well, you’re handing out pamphlets and stuff like that, so that’s exactly what it would mean," the officer responds.
When asked for more info about the permit process, the officer then appears to become somewhat exasperated, and exclaims, "[w]hy don’t you go talk to Student Life? But you can’t do it out here, otherwise I’m going to have to lock you up. I don’t want it to come to that; like I said, I want you to go in to Student Life."
The discussion then turns to the exact nature of the violation, as the group wonders if all or just part of their activity was causing problems, and when the officer mentions that they were distributing literature, a student bystander remarks, "I asked for it, though."
"They’re soliciting it," the officer corrects him. "I mean, you approached them because they were here doing it. If they weren’t here, you wouldn’t have approached them."
The group prepared to concede the dispute and take the issue up with the Student Life office, located in the adjacent building. The video ends at that point, but multiple eyewitnesses have told Campus Reform that the altercation did not.
"One student [Enders] was holding an American flag and when they were going to leave and go inside the officer told him that he could not bring the flag into the school," said Mason Zeri, one of two students who had stopped to sign the group's petition when the officer approached.[. . .]
“You can’t solicit an opinion,” he remarked forcefully. “An opinion is speech.”

Mark Steyn Stands Up To Climate Bullies, Exposes Their Fake Science

Mann obliterated two mainstays of traditional climate science: the Medieval Warm Period and the Little Ice Age. In the opinion of many eminent scientists, this feat was accomplished by employing dubious statistical analysis, by using and even manipulating scanty tree-ring evidence, and by tacking on actual thermometer readings for recent times to tree-ring proxy data that was largely employed to erase significant climate variations in the past. These methodological shenanigans resulted in the apocalyptic headline that summarized the Mann-dominated IPCC report of 2001, namely, that 1998 was “likely” the warmest year in the warmest decade in the warmest century of the past 1,000 years -- a headline gobbled up by lazy and politically-motivated climate journalists.

As a closing bonus, Steyn explains the origin of the “97% of all scientists” mantra that Mann and President Obama confidently throw around whenever the “settled science” of climate change is at issue. Short story shorter: 97% comes from a survey conducted for a thesis by a University of Illinois graduate student who, having received 3,146 responses to a two-question online questionnaire sent to 10,257 earth scientists, eventually identified 77 “experts” of which 75 (97%) were found to agree with the anthropogenic global warming hypothesis. There’s no word as yet on the identity and views of the other 10,180.

Steyn, National Review, et al. are being sued for defamation by the aforementioned Dr. Mann. In other words, true to form, Mann is using intimidation to silence critics. Specifically, the legal case concerns a National Review blog post dated July 15, 2012, in which Steyn quotes aerospace engineer Rand Simberg’s negative comments about the Penn State hockey-stick inventor, including the remark that Mann has become “the Jerry Sandusky of climate science.” Steyn proceeds in a mere 147 words to distance himself somewhat from Simberg’s metaphor, to identify Mann as “the man behind the fraudulent ‘hockey-stick’ graph,” and to note that the same college president who “declined to find one of its star names [Paterno] guilty of any wrongdoing” and who was forced to resign over the Sandusky scandal also oversaw the exculpatory investigation of Mann after the “Climategate” emails were made public.



The fact that this speech-suppressing defamation suit in the D.C. courts has been going on for years without media outrage clearly shows that Steyn’s derogatory book title applies to American journalists and courts as much as to the now-greatly-diminished Penn State climatologist.
