Massachusetts State Policeman Jailed For Beating His State Policewoman Girlfriend, Many Years Of Abuse Alleged

Massachusetts State Trooper Robert Sundberg appears in Ayer District Court on charges of assault on a family member and strangulation or suffocation charges against his girlfriend. He is accompanied by his attorney Richard Rafferty.

A state trooper was held pending a dangerousness hearing on Wednesday after he was accused of beating his girlfriend, who is also a state trooper, dragging her by the hair and choking her until she almost lost consciousness.
At a hearing today in Ayer District Court, Judge J. Elizabeth Cremens ordered Robert Sundberg, 45, to stay away from the alleged victim for one year. He had abused her for years, a prosecutor said.
Assistant District Attorney Brian Doxtader said Sundberg was intoxicated when he awoke the victim early Saturday at their Boxboro apartment, choking her until she managed to break loose and lock herself in the bathroom.
The defendant forced his way into the bathroom, held her down and choked her until she became dizzy and thought she would lose consciousness, Doxtader said.
She bit him, the prosecutor said, and he threw her into a closet, picked her up by the hair and forced her back into the bedroom, where he later demanded they have sex.
[. . .]
He began abusing the alleged victim, an 11-year veteran of the state police, about two years into their six-year relationship, Doxtader said.
Defense attorney Richard Rafferty said that the allegations were false and that she was angry because the couple was going to buy a house but Sundberg wanted to end the relationship.
“He’s sitting in jail on a false allegation,” he said.
Rafferty claimed that the victim pushed his client, and he fell into a closet.
They both went to work on Saturday, he said, and she went to a party that night.
There was no bite mark found on Sundberg, Rafferty said, and no sign of a struggle was found in the bathroom.
When she asked Cremens for a restraining order today, the alleged victim said Sundberg has a history of abuse that got progressively worse over time.
“Every time I confronted him, he said he didn’t remember anything,” she told the judge.

UFC Ring Girl Attacked By Husband, Who Was Arrested For Attempted Murder

Brittney Palmer

[From article]
The police report obtained by TMZ Sports says that the couple got into an altercation when Zalewski allegedly overheard a casting director call Palmer “babe” on the phone. That allegedly caused Zalewski to become violent, grabbing his wife’s throat and throwing her into the bed post.
The report says Palmer, 28 told police her husband said, “Pack your f--king bags and go!" but would not let her leave and forcibly restrained her.
She says he held her face down on a mattress with his knee and she could not breathe for two minutes.
Eventually she was able to leave the house and contact the police, who arrested Zalewski. He left jail the following day after posting $1 million bail.

Veteran MA State Trooper Held Without Bail After Domestic Dispute And Violence

Massachusetts State Police Officer Corey D. Benoit

[From article]
A veteran state trooper is being held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing to determine how he busted his girlfriend's collar bone during a birthday bash that ended with her in the hospital, according to authorities.
State Trooper Corey D. Benoit, who turned 36 yesterday, appeared in Gardner District Court this morning with alleged bite marks on his neck and mouth, but got no sympathy from Judge Arthur Haley, who ordered the 210-pound officer to remain behind bars until a hearing set for Wednesday.
Benoit, an Army Reserve veteran whose lawyer said he served tours in Iraq and Kuwait, pleaded not guilty to a single charge of domestic assault and battery. Attorney Leonard Kesten said his "recently divorced" client's live-in love, Nichole Poirier, declined to seek a restraining order.
According to a four-page police report written by Benoit's own department, an off-duty trooper and party guest who witnessed the dust-up told investigators Benoit "violently slammed" Poirier into a wall and then "destroyed the house."

Responding troopers noted shattered dishes in the kitchen, food on the floor, a busted staircase railing, "a large hole in the wall" on the second floor, a broken pool table and "scattered alcoholic beverages throughout the home."
"It was an argument over the volume of the stereo at about 2 in the morning," Kesten said of yesterday's incident at the couple's home in Royalston, where two other off-duty troopers were guests and Benoit's two kids were staying over.
"She kissed him and bit him really hard on the lip and on the neck. He pushed her away, she hit the wall and apparently broke her collar bone," he said. "There was alcohol involved. It was a party. But he didn't punch her. There was no fight. It was a bite followed by a push. If he wasn't a state trooper, there would be no dangerousness hearing."
[. . .]

Kesten told reporters Benoit and Poirier have been together for a little over a year.
"He has 10 years on the job," Kesten said. "A perfect record."
Benoit has been temporarily relieved of active duty, and Dave Procopio, a State Police spokesman, said officials will hold a hearing on Thursday to determine if his status changes. State Police initially had scheduled the hearing for tomorrow, but shifted it to take into account the results of the dangerousness hearing.
It's unclear how officials will handle Benoit, but historically, troopers accused of a violent crime have faced suspension without pay while the case plays out in court.
State Police also seized close to a dozen firearms from Benoit's house, including two department-issued handguns and his personal collection of rifles and shotguns.

Vancouver, BC, Canada Policeman Poses As Disabled Wheelchair User, Inspired

Mr Horsley told all the people who approached him - including these two women - that he could not count. Instead, he let them take money from his hand.

Sgt. Horsley's experiences differ from mine. Maybe it is the difference between Canada and the United States. Over the past 45 years criminals, police employees, and FBI employees tormented, slandered, insulted, humiliated, ridiculed, provoked and harassed me without stop. Decent people and professionals employed in the human services industrial complex (MA State Rep. Marie Parente's term) stood by and watched.

[From article]
An undercover police officer has been left stunned at the generosity of passers-by after he posed as a disabled man.
Sergeant Mark Horsley pretended to be paralysed as part of a covert investigation launched in response to two knifepoint robberies involving people in wheelchairs in Vancouver, Canada.
He secretly filmed the interactions he had with people, including those who asked him for change and others who just stopped to chat.
[. . .]
'The caring and compassion expressed to me in my undercover role was inspiring. This community has soul.'
Mr Horsley also paid a stark warning to robbers who he said might be deliberately choosing to target the vulnerable.
'Victimizing the vulnerable is far beneath the people,' he added.
'For the very rare and despicable person who is willing to victimize the vulnerable people you should know the police are watching but more importantly the people are watching.'

Battered New York Woman Testifies In Support of Batterer, Not Unusual For Abused Women

Standing by her man: Alison Bretherick, 29, (pictured in May, below and last week, above) has appeared in court in support of boyfriend Thomas Hoey - despite years of alleged abuse and fears for her life.

[From article]
Long Island banana mogul Thomas Hoey wouldroutinely beat his girlfriend so viciously that she once scribbled on the back of a photograph, “If you find me dead, Thomas Hoey did it,’’ court papers reveal. Hoey — to be sentenced in the Manhattan Supreme Court case this week — rained abuse on Alison Bretherick for even the smallest offenses, including not picking up the phone fast enough, prosecutors said. Bretherick, 29, admitted to a female cousin in January 2010 that she was becoming increasingly scared of Hoey, 46, the documents say. Bretherick recalled how Hoey smashed her head into walls, chipping her teeth and hitting the side of her head so hard, she lost hearing in her left ear.
Kimberley Calo, a New York personal trainer, overdosed on cocaine after having a threesome with millionaire Hoey in 2009. She died when no one called for help.

Female Genital Mutilation In US Increasing Due To Immigration

[From article]
The genital cutting reduces or eliminates women’s ability to achieve sexual pleasure, but gives elders more control over who marries whom. Other cultural practices, including the wearing of hijab headscarves and the promotion of cousin marriage, reinforce the control of young people by their clan or extended family.
Mutilation was not practiced in pre-modern Western Europe, where young men and women were normally expected to choose each other and to marry outside their clans and extended families.
The ancient non-European practice is increasingly being detected in the United States and Europe when immigrant women and the Western-born daughters of immigrants visit taxpayer-funded medical facilities to treat the health problems caused by the vibrantly diverse traditions.
[. . .]
The practice is normal among the Muslim populations in northern and eastern Africa, such as Egypt, Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia. It is also very common among the Muslim population of Kurdistan in Iraq and in the fast-growing population of Yemen, adjacent to Saudi Arabia.
The practice is also commonplace among Christian populations in Ethiopia, Eritrea and Nigeria, but the more extreme version occurs in Muslim communities.
Muslim advocates in the United States usually deny that the problem is associated with Islam.
But the procedure is also backed by Muslim immigrants and advocates in the United States. In 2012, for example, a Muslim doctor at the Mayo Clinic promoted the practice as an “honor” for women in Muslim communities. The doctor, who was also a senior member of the Association of Muslim Jurists of America, was subsequently fired by his American supervisors.
[. . .]
But the White House’s criticism doesn’t mention the role of immigration or Islam, and is focused on victims in Africa and Arabia, not the increasing number of victims in America.
[. . .]
Democrats and progressives favor increased diversity, in part, because the inflow of immigrants and the resulting social conflict helps them transform Americans’ anti-government culture.

Disabled WWII Veteran, Beaten in New York Nursing Home

Robert Brogan, a World War II veteran, was allegedly attacked while at a state veterans home in St. Albans.

See, I am not the only elder person being beaten and harassed by young criminals. The billions of taxpayer funds spent on human services protections is mostly a waste of money. In Massachusetts these alleged protectors of vulnerable persons stand by and watch as sadistic academic research psychologists and psychiatrists attack their patients without consent, contrary to law, without compassion or sensitivity. These alleged healers are criminal brutes who know the lingo saying they care about the people they abuse. They are worse and more dangerous than police criminals who are known to abuse their power. Psychiatrists have an image as caregivers, and police agencies will not address their abuses. Often they are employed by police agencies and crime families to destroy the spirit and the lives of unpopular persons for political and/or personal purposes.

[From article]
Marine veteran Robert Brogan survived World War II to suffer repeated horrific injuries in a Queens nursing home for ex-soldiers. And no one can explain what happened.
Brogan, 87, moved into the New York State Veterans Home at St. Albans — a 250-bed facility run by the state Health Department — a year ago because of worsening dementia. His wife, Dorothy, is ill.

An injury allegedly suffered by Brogan while at the nursing home.

[. . .]
John Constantino called the NYPD’s 113th Precinct station house on Wednesday. A detective referred him to the state attorney general, who has probed nursing-home abuses, he said.
After Brogan’s head injury in September, the nursing director told the family that alarms would be put on his bed to alert the staff when he got up, so they could check in on and attend to him.
“When we went in the room, we found the battery for the alarm on the floor,” Colleen Constantino said. “The safety system they have in place is not working — especially at night when all these incidents occur.”

A head wound allegedly suffered by Brogan while at a veterans nursing home.

White House Leads Other Countries Not The United States

[From article]
The problem with voting into the presidency an internationalist is that his oath to “protect and defend” the Constitution (and by implication the nation) doesn’t apply to this nation. He sees it as his duty to protect and defend some undifferentiated poor folks in the Third World. You suckers just pay the bills and suffer the consequences of his actions.
[. . .]
As you can see, the National Institutes of Health expenditures, from the clearly frivolous (origami condoms) to the clearly extraneous (syphilis transmission by gays in Peru) reflect not only mission creep, but a lack of rational priorities.
[. . .]
Millions went to develop “origami condoms,” in male, female, and anal versions. The inventor Danny Resnic, who received $2,466,482 from the NIH, has been accused of massive fraud for using grant money for full-body plastic surgery in Costa Rica and parties at the Playboy mansion.
[. . .]
Dr. Friedan (who seems to have let his medical license lapse in Georgia in 2011), is best known for being ex-NYC Mayor Bloomberg’s point man on banning trans fats and large drinks, not for disease control.
[. . .]
this left-wing administration is full of people more concerned with social control of those citizens who remain law-abiding than with more serious issues of crime and health. Those things require skill and hard work, and most concern taxpayers.
[. . .]
this week, the president appointed yet another czar – Ron Klain – with no medical background, but a long history as a political hack.
At the same time that the administration has refused to take the proper steps to prepare for this disease and to limit it by limiting travel, children of the country are dying from a strain of enterovirus surely introduced by the president’s policy of allowing in thousands of unaccompanied children from Latin America who carry this virus, herding them all together so more can carry it, and then dispersing them around the country, where local communities have admitted them into schools without health checks.
[. . .]
the president defiantly, in opposition of public opinion and evidence, is doubling down.
He has just signed an executive order allowing in 100,000 more Haitians into this country. Haiti, as you might recall, is one of the poorest places and most disease-ridden in this hemisphere.

Battered Woman Remains in Relationship With Her Batterer

Extreme example of battered young woman who cannot free herself from abusive boyfriend. What I cannot understand is why these women, even if they get the strength to leave their abusive husband or boyfriend frequently return to them for more abuse.

[From show]
Ed and Katrina say their 18-year-old pregnant daughter, Kirsten, is dating a 30-year-old ex-con who admittedly is controlling and abusive, and they fear for the safety of their daughter and her unborn baby. They say Kirsten was once an honor roll student with a promising future until she started seeing John — against their wishes — and stopped pursuing her dreams. Now, they claim Kirsten is in a rollercoaster relationship with a man who becomes enraged, throws her out on the street at the slightest provocation and leaves bruises on her body. What can these concerned parents do to protect their daughter and unborn grandchild?

Updated: NJ Prosecutors Gave NFL Player A Pass; Evidence of Cover Up

[From article]
The Baltimore Ravens knew about the footage of Ray Rice knocking out his then-fiancee in an elevator within hours of the assault - and immediately rushed to cover it up, reports claim.
More than 20 senior sources within the squad and the NFL told ESPN the Ravens' director of security Darren Sanders spoke to a police officer about the attack moments after the incident in a casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on Valentine's Day.
He immediately recounted the information to the club's executives.
But they opted to conceal the scandal and the true force of Rice's assault did not emerge for another seven months - while the star running back was simply given a two-match ban.

It is not known how many serious attacks were made on this now wife of Ray Rice. At first it was only he dragged her out of an elevator. Now there is video of the punch. If the behavior of the Atlantic City prosecutor's office is disappointing, what about the NFL leadership. Professional athletes have a long and extensive history of physical abuses and criminal behavior. This is not a unique event.

[From article]
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office offered Rice “pretrial intervention” in May — a program that lasts a minimum of a year — and he gladly accepted it. Basically, if he completes an agreed-upon program, the charges against him could be expunged from his record.
If that sounds familiar, that’s because it’s essentially the New Jersey version of a continuance without a finding — the softball penalty that Jared Remy picked up time and again up in Middlesex County until he killed his live-in girlfriend.

Black Marine Shoots Dead His White Girlfriend

Hero mom: Jessica Arrendale, 33, reportedly sheltered six-month-old Cobie in the toilet bowl when her boyfriend Antoine Davis, 30, shot her in the head

Is depression an excuse for murder and violence? Do all depressed people shoot others dead? What is the connection between being depressed and murder?

[From article]
A mother saved her six-month-old baby with her 'last breath,' sheltering the infant in the toilet after her boyfriend shot her in the head and turned the gun on himself.
Jessica Arrendale, 33, was found dead of a gunshot wound to the head along with Antoine Davis, 30, who police believe shot himself and Arrendale in a murder-suicide in an Atlanta suburb.
Police had surrounded Arrendale's townhouse. When they finally entered the home, they found the baby safe inside and rushed her to the hospital to treat her for hypothermia.
[. . .]

Marine: Davis served as a marine in Iraq according to his ex-wife Tamaira Chesley, who also believed he battled with depression

Arrendale's mother, Teresa Ionniello, told WSB Radio that Arrendale and Davis were together the night that Davis became 'belligerently drunk and abusive,' an episode that sadly had happened many times before in their relationship.
Davis chased Arrendale up to the third floor of her home, where Arrendale picked up a baseball bat to defend herself, according to Ionniello, though Davis overpowered her and struck her with the bat.
Arrendale then barricaded herself in the bathroom with their six-month-old, Cobie. Davis went to get his firearm, an assault rifle, from the closet, and it was around this time that police arrived at the home.

Denise Brown: Pistorius, Ray Rice, More O.J. Simpson

[From article]
The Ray Rice case reflects our misunderstanding of what domestic violence is, and the Oscar Pistorius case reminds me so much of what happened to Nicole: victims defending their partners, and batterers blaming the victim.
What is most chilling to me about what I have seen in the coverage of Ray Rice is that he has not atoned for his actions; he seems more concerned with how he is now viewed. And it’s Janay Palmer who is apologizing for her part of being knocked out cold. This is a dangerous dynamic.
[. . .]
Domestic violence is about one human being needing to control another. It’s not about love. Without comprehensive education for both the perpetrator and victim, what I have learned is that if it happens once, it will happen again, and it can escalate until the victim gets killed. Both individuals need counseling and education to understand these dynamics. The victim needs to understand that nothing she has said or done warrants being assaulted or verbally abused. The perpetrator needs to understand that there are no justifications—ever, ever, ever—to assault his partner physically or emotionally.

The Carolina Panthers have kicked Greg Hardy, one of their biggest stars, off their roster - but only two months after he was convicted of strangling and threatening to kill his girlfriend in May.
Team officials did not comment on the decision to deactivate 25-year-old Hardy - but it comes days after the release of video showing Baltimore Ravens player Ray Rice brutally punching his wife in the face.
Hardy has not been disciplined by the NFL. He played in last week's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and recorded one sack and three tackles.
Hardy was convicted of assaulting Nicki Holder in a bench trial by a judge in Charlotte on July 16. He has appealed the ruling and is still awaiting a jury trial, which he is allowed under North Carolina law.

Charges have finally been filed in the murder case of a 28-year-old Kirkland, Washington woman who prophesized her own untimely death.
Amy Hargrove was found dead in her bed on January 6, after spending the weekend reuniting with her abusive boyfriend Burrell Cushman, 28.

“It happens every summer,” the neighbor said. “Her face would be swollen up. She had a big bruise.”
“After he’d hit her, she’d go inside and wouldn’t come out afterwards,” the neighbor said.
“She didn’t have a way out; she used to say that she didn’t have a job and had to take care of the kids, so she had to stay with him.”
Another neighbor said Brian, who suffered a back injury and hadn’t been able to work in about two years, had become addicted to painkillers.
“Lately, he was taking too much oxycodone,” the neighbor said.

Shavelle Chavez-Nelson, 32, and Ashley Marie Conrade, 24, were both charged Friday with second-degree intentional murder in the slaying of 20-year-old University of Minnesota student Anarae Schnuk.
The victim was reported missing September 23, 2013. A week later, her naked body turned up in a ditch next to a cornfield in Rice County.

The 32-year-old was brought before a judge from prison, where he is serving a nine-year sentence for an unrelated burglary.

Officials working on the case said they have found ample DNA evidence on items Nelson had brought to the home of his estranged wife in St Paul after the killing.
The recovered black plastic bags contained Schnuk's white UMN jacket covered in blood and bearing more than 20 holes in it and other items of clothing, which looked as if they had been cut off a body.

Ms Schnuk was last seen outside Nina's Grill with her ex-boyfriend and Conrade, 24, of Rosemount, in the early hours of September 22. Police believe she asked to meet with Nelson to talk about the $5,000 he owed her.

Anarae Schnuk, an accomplished chess player, met Nelson at a bus summer in the summer 2012. He lied to the college student that he was a stock broker.
When Schnuk learned the truth about his criminal past, she stuck by him, believing she could help him turn a new leaf.
She broke up with him a few months later when she discovered that Nelson had been living with a woman and the pair had a child together.

Women Are Control Freaks

But when it comes to relationships they are more likely than men to be controlling and aggressive, a study claims.
Increasing numbers of women can now be classed as ‘intimate terrorists’, meaning that they are verbally and physically violent towards a partner.
