Virginia Woman Policeman, Massachusetts Native, Shot Dead Responding To Domestic Violence Call

29-year-old Officer Ashley Guindon shot dead after she answered a domestic violence call at a Virginia home on Saturday - her first day on the job.

[From article]
An Army staff sergeant assigned to the Pentagon has been charged with shooting dead a rookie police officer on her first day and his wife.
Ronald Hamilton, 32, is being held without bond accused of shooting dead 29-year-old Officer Ashley Guindon after she and two coworkers answered a domestic violence call at his home on Saturday evening.
According to an affidavit, Hamilton's wife Crystal, 29, called police begging for help at 5.30pm.
By the time Guindon arrived with her field officer Jesse Hempen, 31, and ten-year police veteran David McKeown, 33, Crystal was shot dead, the affidavit states.
Hamilton allegedly opened fire as soon as the officers arrived, fatally shooting Guindon and wounding the other two. The Hamiltons' 11-year-old son was in the house at the time but survived unscathed.
On Sunday, police chief Stephen Hudson paid tribute to Guindon's work and gave a poignant account of the passion she showed when she interviewed for the job.
Crystal Hamilton's sister also paid tribute to Guindon as she thanked the police force for their attempts to apprehend the suspect. 'Most importantly, the officer who sacrificed her life for my sister and my nephew,' she told ABC7.

Ronald Hamilton, 32, is being held without bond accused of shooting dead 29-year-old Officer Ashley Guindon after she answered a domestic violence call at his home on Saturday - her first day on the job.

The suspect is an active duty Army staff sergeant assigned to the Joint Staff Support Center at the Pentagon, according to Cindy Your, a Defense Information Systems Agency spokeswoman based at Fort Meade, Maryland.
The death of Ashley Guindon was just the latest tragedy to strike the family.
Her father, David, committed suicide the day after he returned home from Iraq in 2004, where he served with the New Hampshire Air National Guard. He was buried with full military honors on August 26 that year.
'He came home and took his own life,' said Dorothy Guindon, Ashley's grandmother.
Ashley was his only child.
Ashley was born in Springfield, Massachusetts. The family later moved to Merrimack, New Hampshire, according to her grandmother.
'This is really a shock to us,' Dorothy Guindon said. 'Ashley was such a nice person.'
Officer Brandon Carpenter, at the county's adult detention center, says Hamilton is being held without bond at the jail on charges that include murder of a law enforcement officer, first-degree murder, two counts of malicious assault and two counts of use of a firearm during a felony.
Hamilton is scheduled to be arraigned Monday morning.
Prince William County Commonwealth's Attorney Paul Ebert told The Associated Press on Sunday morning that the gunman's wife was the victim in the domestic incident. He did not provide her name.
The shooting occurred Saturday evening at Hamilton's home in Woodbridge, where neighbors say he lived with his wife and their son.
Guindon had a degree in aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a master's degree from George Washington University in forensic science.
She served in the military from 2007 to 2013 as a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Prince William County, where Woodbridge is located, is a suburb 30 minutes outside Washington, D.C., and has a relatively low crime rate.
Guindon had been a county police officer a few years ago and had left and returned to the force, Corey Stewart, chairman of the Prince William County Board of Supervisors, said in a phone interview with The Associated Press on Saturday night.

North Carolina Gentleman Charged With Forcing Woman US Army Soldier Into Prostitution

Jibri Quandel Thomas

[From article]
A North Carolina man has been arrested on charges that he forced a 19-year-old female Fort Bragg soldier into prostitution.
Jibri Thomas is accused of exploiting the soldier from August until December while she lived in barracks on the Army base, The Fayetteville Observer reported Friday.
Thomas, 23, turned himself in to police Jan. 11. He was being held at the Cumberland County jail on $400,000 bail. He faces state charges of human trafficking and promoting prostitution, as well as federal charges of racketeering and transporting for prostitution.
[. . .]
Court documents cited by the newspaper allege Thomas recruited and transported the soldier with the intent of holding her in “involuntary servitude” for prostitution, and police reports accuse Thomas of pocketing a portion of the payments. Police have refused to give any details on the coercion.
Fort Bragg spokesman Tom McCollum said officials don’t know of any other such case at Fort Bragg, one of the nation’s largest military installations with roughly 56,000 troops. But he said Army officials are there to help others who may find themselves in the same situation.
Pete Twedell, director of the counter-human trafficking nonprofit 5 Sparrows, said he’s heard of several cases in the region involving soldier victims over the past four years.
“Human trafficking is a real and growing problem that affects all strata of our society, including Fort Bragg,” Twedell told the newspaper.

Updated: Col. Ralph Peters calls Obama "a total Pussy." Suspended By Fox News

[From article]
Lt. Col. Ralph Peters and Stacey Dash have been suspended from Fox News, citing unacceptable language when discussing Obama’s speech on Sunday night.
[. . .]
Ralph Peters, a Fox News "strategic analyst," called the president a "total pu---" who "doesn't want to hurt our enemies."
A couple of hours later Stacey Dash, a Fox contributor, said the president "didn't give a sh--" about Sunday night's terrorism speech.
"Earlier today, Fox contributors Lt. Col. Ralph Peters and Stacey Dash made comments on different programs that were completely inappropriate and unacceptable for our air," Fox senior executive vice president Bill Shine said.
[. . .]
Americans are growing weary from the president’s lies and deception. Peters and Dash expressed this mounting frustration.

Fox News suspends Lt. Col. Ralph Peters and Stacey Dash
By Carol Brown

[From article]
Retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Ralph Peters called President Obama “a total pussy” during a live interview Monday for what he views as his impotent response to the threat of Islamic extremist terrorism.
Peters, a Fox News military analyst, appeared on Stuart Varney’s Fox Business program to respond to Obama’s Sunday night Oval Office address on the threat of terrorism, speech that was widely panned. Peters, a fierce critic of Obama’s national security policies, was visibly angry as he blasted the speech.
Peters said he was taken aback by Obama’s continued references to Americans not giving into their fears.
“Mr. President, we’re not afraid! We’re angry! We’re pissed off! We’re furious!” Peters said. “We want you to react. We want you to do something. You’re afraid! I mean, this guy is such a total pussy, it’s stunning! We, the American people, who he does not know in any intimate sort of manner, we want action. We want action against Islamic State.”
Peters went on to say that Obama had done more damage to American police departments than to the Islamic State and had restrained the U.S. military.
“This is a president who doesn’t want to hurt our enemies,” Peters said. “This is a president who cares more about thugs in Guantanamo or thugs in Ferguson, Missouri, than he does about law-abiding American citizens and their right to live in safety and peace.”

Mission Of U.S. Army

[From article]
We give the Army, not the fumble fingered Homeland Security, responsibility for border integrity and security. After all, they are charged with protecting the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic and what could be more compelling than protecting the actual land of the United States in that mission instead of deploying a Ready Force to Yambol, Bulgaria, or Camp Bondsteel in Macedonia? Maybe Macedonia and Bulgaria need military help. Maybe we’re using them for missions best not discussed. But, the Army’s primary, core, fundamental mission is to protect the United States of America and that isn’t happening. Their goal must be to protect the home first, and then we’ll talk about all these other expenses and missions. Secure the home, or there’s no point to the rest of it.
[. . .]
Muslim terrorists are paying $50,000 per head to slip across our southern border. Texas officials warn of terrorism coming across our southern border. Border agents whom Obama has emasculated warn of criminal gangs crossing the border. Mexican cartels control American soil up to 70 miles inland from the border. How is any of this not an urgent matter of National Security? The US Amry’s mission is, after all, at Section 3062 of Title 10 US Code -
*Preserving the peace and security and providing for the defense of the United States, the Commonwealths and possessions and any areas occupied by the United States
*Supporting the national policies
*Implementing the national objectives
*Overcoming any nations responsible for aggressive acts that imperil the peace and security of the United States
[. . .]
How is this not the most urgent national security matter facing America? If people to the south of our border cannot control themselves and respect our rule of law, then it is up to America to force the issue. The US Army can do the job, with troops willing and eager to not be laid off like factory workers and who would, I do not doubt, love performing the Mission they signed up to do: protect the United States.

Black Teen Charged With Homicide of US Army Veteran, Rhode Island Father of 3-year-old Daughter

26-year-old Colby Mendonca

[From article]
Erico Montalvo, of 10 Pocasset Ave., wore no expression as he was led handcuffed into District Court early Friday morning to face the charges. The timing, coincidentally, was just before the funeral Mass for 26-year-old Colby Mendonca of Pawtucket.
Mendonca and his friend, Russell Gleason, 25, were in the parking lot behind the Walgreens at 533 Elmwood Ave. just before 2 a.m. when they got into an argument with strangers, according to police. The argument became a fight that left Gleason badly injured and Mendonca dead.
Special Assistant Attorney General Meg McDonough told Magistrate Joseph Ippolito that Montalvo admitted to Providence investigators that he'd been at the scene and had stabbed both men.

Congressional Hearing On U.S. Response To Ebola Oct. 24, 2014

U.S. Rep. Darrell E. Issa (R-CA), Chairman

This is a hearing on Friday October 24, 2014, before the full committee of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives regarding the response of the United States to the ebola virus threat. It is over four hours long. It indicates the current status of understanding of the role of government and the dangers of the ebola virus. The bureaucratic response of the panel of experts raises serious concerns about the competence of the leadership of the U.S. government. They do not seem to understand logic, and are unable to reveal what they know they do not know. God help us.

U.S. Rep. Jason E. Chaffetz (R-UT) asked if ebola is only contagious when the patient has a fever, why are the bowling alley and cabs used by the doctor in New York being cleaned? One more good question. Here's the story about cleaning up the New York City bowling alley.

A U.S. Army officer from Rochester, Michigan, was denied entry into his daughter’s high school by four members of its security staff, told that his uniform might “offend” some students.
“Before he was allowed in, the security guard stopped him and said sorry you’re not allowed in the school. Security told him men and women in uniform weren’t allowed because it may offend another student,” Lt. Col. Sherwood Baker’s wife, Rachel, told a local Fox affiliate.
Col. Baker was was on his way to see his daughter’s counselor regarding her class schedule when the incident occurred.

Two Star General Reduced in Rank, Retired, Failed To Investigate Sex Assault of Colonel

Major General Michael T Harrison, who has been stripped of his rank and forced to retire after failing to investigate claims of sexual assault against a colonel on his staff.

[From article]
A two-star U.S. Army general who failed to investigate claims of sexual assault against a colonel on his staff has been stripped of his rank and forced to retire.
The Army has announced that Major General Michael T. Harrison will be retired as a brigadier general after being suspended from his duties as commander of U.S. forces in Japan.
[. . .]
An inspector general's investigation report released in April said that in March 2013 a Japanese woman accused the unidentified colonel on Harrison's staff, who he had known for 20 years, of sexually assaulting her.
But Harrison waited months to report it to criminal investigators, which was deemed a violation of Army rules.
In the report it was also said that he failed to treat the alleged victim with dignity and fairness and failed to remove the colonel from his position despite a pattern of allegations, according to Stars and Stripes.
But despite his subsequent suspension, the Army brought him to the Pentagon to make him director of programme analysis and evaluation for an Army deputy chief of staff.

It was a beautiful service that was only missing one important attendee:
The President of the United States.
Also missing were the vice president and the secretary of defense.
Photos of the service, posted on the Internet from news services all over the globe, showed a riderless horse, the general’s children touching the casket and the flag presented to his widow by Army Chief of Staff General Ray Odierno.

Truth Detectors Developed For Middle East Warriors

OK, so how long before dating services, local police, crime families and universities use these devices on civilians to check on their bona fides?

[From article]
So, if you’re a U.S. soldier in Iraq or Afghanistan today, how do you determine whether or not the Iraqi or Afghan soldier next to you is going to give up your location to the enemy at the first chance? One solution, developed by a former Army counterintelligence agent, is scanning the brains of Iraqi troops for signs of potential betrayal.

Police and US Army Have X-Ray Gun For Searches

Posted June 22, 2014 8:14 PM ET; Last updated June 23, 2014 9:07 PM ET

How long will it take for criminals to obtain and use these for nefarious purposes? One day later local police already have these devices to search people.

[From article]
an X-ray gun that can see through fabric, rubber and aluminum to find drugs, money, explosive liquids and even people. The recently released X-ray gun is the first device of its kind that a soldier or would-be superhero can hold in her hands. It’s about the size of a breadbox and works with the press of a button, allowing the user to actually see the outline of organic material buried behind cloth, leather or even aluminum by running the X-ray gun over the material and zapping it with low-level X-rays.

Patrick Tucker
At a recent demonstration, the device could see through boxes, bags, car seats and airplane wings to reveal various organic compounds — everything from bricks of simulated cocaine to paper, ammonia and other potentially explosive materials. Even a handful of grapes.
[. . .]
The MINI Z comes in at $50,000, or half the cost of a typical airport backscatter X-ray. But the most important feature, from a national security perspective, is the simplicity of use. You turn it on, point, shoot and get an image. It requires almost no training to operate. That’s key because it’s not necessarily U.S. soldiers that will be using it

The video for the handheld MINI Z Backscatter imaging scanner, developed by American Science and Engineering Inc (AS&E), brags that it will “allow operators to see more than ever in more places than ever.”
The scanner will be used by “law enforcement, first responders, border control, event security, maritime police and general aviation security,” in order to search for currency, drugs and explosives. Police will use the device to inspect “vehicle bumpers, tires, panels and interiors” and to detect IEDs.
According to AS&E, the scanner represents a “game changer” for law enforcement and border patrol and will be used to ensure “public safety.” However, the company admits that the device “is not designed to scan people” because it emits radiation.
[. . .]
In 2010 it emerged that American Science & Engineering had sold many of the larger devices to U.S. law enforcement agencies, who were already using them on the streets for “security” purposes.
The company’s founder, Joe Reiss, told Forbes that more than 500 backscatter x-ray devices were already being used domestically by U.S. authorities and were being, “driven past neighboring vehicles to see their contents.”
[. . .]
The plans mirrored leaked documents out of the UK Home Office three years prior, which revealed that authorities in the UK were working on proposals to fit lamp posts with CCTV cameras that would X-ray scan passers-by and “undress them” in order to “trap terror suspects”.

Obama's Rescued Hostage Unsympathetic

[From article]
he was “so scared” that he had already abandoned his unit once, and concluded: “AND I’LL RUN AWAY AGAIN IF I HAVE TO GO OUT THERE.”
Slovik was like Bradley Manning minus the lipstick and eyeliner.
A lieutenant, a company commander, and a judge advocate all tried to persuade Slovik to shred the letter and return to his unit, warning him that he’d be tried for desertion otherwise. Slovik refused.
In the middle of World War II, the military court-martialed Slovik, tried him, and sentenced him to death.
Allied Supreme Commander Dwight Eisenhower denied Slovik’s pardon request, saying it would encourage more desertions, just as the fighting was getting especially hot. Slovik was executed by firing squad and buried among the numbered graves of court-martialed rapists and murderers in an American military cemetery in France.

The investigation into McQueen began in May last year, and he was charged in March with abusive sexual contact and other alleged misconduct.
At his hearing today, a female soldier testified that McQueen had recruited her for a series of sexual encounters with senior officers.
The witness claimed that McQueen first approached her for his 'escorting' business when she was 20, and struggling to pay off her student loans while raising a three-year-old child.
[. . .]
The woman, who has not been named, alleged that McQueen visited her home on the Texas base and asked her to 'act out' on him what she would do with clients.
She claimed that she had sex with McQueen at her home last year, and that she had lied to the Army Criminal Investigation Division until she had been given immunity.
The soldier claimed that McQueen tried to get her to recruit other young servicewomen for the escort service.
McQueen is facing charges of pandering, conspiracy, maltreatment of a subordinate, abusive sexual contact, adultery and detrimental conduct. The hearing is expected to last two days.

This is the same base where a psychiatrist opened fire and killed 13 soldiers. Obama-Holder called it workplace violence even though the shooter yelled, "Allah U Akbar" as he shot them.

Facts About Fort Hood Massacre

[From article]
Fourteen victims fell on Nov. 5, 2009, not 13. Thirteen of our U.S. military personnel died in cold blood at the deployment center. But the death toll was actually 14. Pvt. Francheska Velez, 21, was pregnant when Hasan shot her during the first round of gunfire. At a military Article 32 hearing in 2010 (analogous to a civilian grand jury hearing), a survivor of the Fort Hood shootings testified that Velez cried out, "My baby! My baby!"
In his opening statement on Tuesday, Hasan (acting as his own lawyer) apologized to his fellow jihadists for not destroying more innocent life.
—The victims were all unarmed. Soldiers inside the deployment center were and are forbidden from carrying weapons — either issued weapons or personal arms — on base. When Hasan commenced his shooting spree by shouting, "Allahu Akbar," several brave men and women in uniform used chairs, tables and their own bodies to try to stop him. But it wasn't until a courageous, armed civilian police officer, Sgt. Kimberley Munley, arrived on the scene with her 9mm Beretta that Hasan's rampage was interrupted.

You can’t make this stuff up, Benghazi Security Negligence

You can't make this stuff up
Act for America
May 6, 2013
Compare and Contrast: What the State Department did, what Army leadership did

You can’t make this stuff up

On May 3rd, Newsmax reported that in 2012 the State Department hired a Libyan militia group that had obvious sympathies for al Qaeda (see story below, highlights added) to help protect our consulate in Benghazi!

In fact, the militia group “…prominently displayed the al-Qaida flag on a Facebook page for months before the deadly attack.”

File this under “you can’t make this stuff up.”

Contrast that State Department decision with what Army leadership did to Lt. Col. Matthew Dooley.

Lt. Col. Dooley
In 2012, Gen. Martin Dempsey publicly reprimanded Lt. Col. Dooley for teaching a course entitled “Perspectives on Islam and Islamic Radicalism” at the National Defense University.

In spite of Lt. Col. Dooley’s sparkling record, Gen. Dempsey then ordered a negative evaluation of Lt. Col. Dooley and Dooley was reassigned.

But the travesty doesn’t end there. Lt. Col. Dooley received an Outstanding Officer Evaluation report in his new assignment, but was slapped down again, this time by Gen. Lloyd Austin (see story here).

So while our State Department hires a militia group sympathetic to al Qaeda to “protect” our consulate, two generals go out of their way to destroy the career of a West Point graduate and highly decorated officer because he dared to point out the threat posed by radical Islam.

When government officials can’t tell who is the enemy and who is a friend, we’re in trouble.

Newsmax Exclusive: US Hired al-Qaida-Linked Group to Defend Benghazi Mission
By John Rosenthal, Newsmax.com

The Libyan militia group that the State Department hired to defend its embattled diplomatic mission in Benghazi had clear al-Qaida sympathies, and had prominently displayed the al-Qaida flag on a Facebook page for months before the deadly attack.

That organization, the February 17th Martyrs Brigade, was paid by the U.S. government to provide security at the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya. But there is no indication the Martyrs Brigade fulfilled its commitment to defend the mission on Sept. 11, when it came under attack.

The assault claimed the lives of four Americans: Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, information officer Sean Smith, and former Navy Seals Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty. Stevens was the first U.S. ambassador to be killed in the line of duty since 1979.

Several entries on the militia’s Facebook page openly profess sympathy for Ansar al-Sharia, the hardline Islamist extremist group widely blamed for the deadly attack on the mission. The U.S. State Department did not respond to a Newsmax request for an explanation as to why the February 17th Martyrs Brigade was hired to protect the mission.

On April 23, House Republicans released an interim progress report on its investigation into the Benghazi killings. It cited “numerous reports” that “the Brigade had extremist connections, and it had been implicated in the kidnapping of American citizens as well as in the threats against U.S. military assets.”

The report also stated that just a few days before Ambassador Stevens arrived in Benghazi, the Martyrs Brigade informed State Department officials they would no longer provide security as members of the mission, including Stevens, traveled through the city.

From June 2011 to July 2012, Eric Nordstrom, the Regional Security Officer for Libya at the time, documented over 200 security threats and violent incidents threatening to U.S. personnel in Libya. Some 50 of those incidents occurred in Benghazi.

Yet despite those threats, repeated requests for additional security from the mission went unheeded by the State Department, for reasons that remain unclear.

But perhaps the biggest question is why the State Department would hire a group that openly displayed its admiration for al-Qaida, and ask it to participate in the defense of its diplomatic mission.
