Cybercrop Pages - Marhsmallow Love and the Lazy River

It was a little while back and I still have a mini book to show you, but here are a couple of the pages that I made at the Ukscrappers Cybercrop.  The 1st page is a patchwork one for the class by Suzysnail. I had to adapt mine a little bit as I cut out lots of 2" squares (I didn't have the punch) and these were too big so I cut the triangles I made with those squares in half again so I have an extra row of traingles.

The papers are from the Basic Grey Shine On collection...and this is my 1st instagram page.  I had a few printed over at photobox and really like them.  I made it into a polaroid with some white card stock.  Once I had my triangles I distressed and inked them all, and then followed Suzy's colour pattern.  I added the string and a little banner and paint and my journalling is behind the photo.

The Marshmallows are part of a camping tradition we have that the kids love so I am sure I will have more photos of this this year.

Next is my Lazy River shot - this is from one of the Disney Water parks and the class was by LRUK (Linda).  I didn't have all the papers and bits that she used so I improvised a little bit, she used mica paints for the blues spots that I have across my page....so I used cosmic shimmers and liquid pearls with a few sequins too thrown in to make up for it.  I dug out my iron work spellbinders dies which reminds me how much I love kraft doilies so they may appear on a few pages.

The photos aren't the best - they were taken with a water camera and I think me must have got a smudge of water on the lense so most of them are a bit hazy....but they document the moment so will have to do :)

The classes will stay on Ukscrappers for a little while and though you can't win a prize anymore if you want to pick up a class to take you through a new technique or just put a page together then here is the link.

And being the 11th November...lets all remember those we have lost in wars - so that we don't forget the price they paid and hope for peace.

On an Adventure

This weekend was the Ukscrappers - Now We Are Ten cybercrop...and this is a more leisurely cybercrop, so if you haven't found it yet but would still love to do the classes and be in with a chance to win prizes you can - most of the challenges and classes are open til Friday...though there are more challenges throughout the week and 2 more classes on Sunday so definitely worth a check out.

Here is my debut page for the cybercrop class the focus is on some paint, hexagons, chipboard and distressing all my favourites.  So if you would like to know how I made this page here is a link to the class....and better if you fancy having a go then load it up over on ukscrappers in the gallery - likewise if you want lots more inspiration then have a peek at the gorgeous pages there.

Woodland Walk

Good Morning everyone, back from my hols now and this is my first LO class for UKscrappers.  You can go over to the site and download the pdf to create this LO.  The papers are Cosmo Cricket Social club with some jillibean soup and october afternoon in there too.  I did a white wash for the background, and some paint flicks then lots of machine stitching a little hand stitching for the suns rays and made some rosette flowers - so lots of different techniques you can have a go at.  Do let me know if you have a go at this class at all or play around with any of the techniques as I would love to come and have a look.  The link for the class is here - have fun.

Exciting news - UK Scrapfactor

A while back they launched the scrapfactor contest on Ukscrappers.  So I thought I would have a go - it was great doing the audition LOs (though I can't share them yet) as you had to scrap one about you, a double page and a non-picture one - so those stretched me and I really enjoyed it.  Well today they have announced the contestants here and I am there with lots of other talented scrappers.  So excited,  my heart is still beating quite fast - bit nervous and very happy.  So please pop over to UKscrappers and have a look at all our creations - they are going to be posted every Monday :).

I will be back tomorrow and do a little tutorial for how I did the stamp edge on my You and Me LO as Amy asked how :)

Brimham Rocks

My latest LO and entry for the Ukscrappers monthly challenge. I had to use a new technique and 7 photos...so the new technique is the flower, and the 7 photos are hidden below!
I did need a little bit of help photographing the inside! I used October Afternoon papers, fly a kite, some prima eline crystals, and I think some tattered floral roses snook in there too. The alphabet is a sizzix one (I discovered unopened on my shelf - shocking!) alphabet in a box, and my trusty Martha Stewart double loop punch has been used to edge lots. Here are some more close ups.

So Proud

This is my take on this weeks UKScrappers weekly challenge. The challenge was to scrap something/someone you care about, use 2 of something old/new/borrowed/blue, use ink and have some journalling. So I think that I have encorporated all of those in there somewhere. The picture is of someone I care for, and them holding someone they care for :) My DS was desparate to hold his new cousin, and very pleased to be photographed with her - he is a proud big cousin. The something old/new/borrowed/blue - well I used my edging scissors which I have had for ages and not really used to trim my paper borders the idea came from Gabrielle P on this thread, also the stickers and the inspire frame are really old. There is blue in the papers, and the papers are some new ones from the Kioshi range...didn't manage to borrow anything! I have inked lots of the edges and included some secret journalling down the side of the photo. I used my Martha Stewart double loop punch, some of my new buttons, and made and inked my own bingo card - couldn't find one with the word cousins on it so made my own using the cheri liney font....and had lots of joy trying to print it on the printer - for some reason it didn't like the card!

Thanks for popping by - here are some more close ups

Picture Perfect

Not been full of inspiration this week, though I had a few techniques I wanted to try out! I made the background cardboard shape from a pizza box, someone had suggested damping down the cardboard so you can pull the layer off, and this worked really well - just used a spray a couple of times and managed to get most of the top layer off easily. I then painted and inked the edges of it to bring our the pattern. I also cut the title out of cardboard painted, and that is the olivia cuttlebug alphabet. I used some glossy accents on the paper but that dosen't show much and added some glitter in patches around the cardboard. So layered and roughed up the papers, used some distress inks to make the tag and attached that. I made the flowers from the 6 petal tutorial - but this was using a larger punch - it was about 2 inches, worked well though I had to squash them lots as they became a little too 3D! I used sepia accents and stickles on them, then some prima pearls behind. I threaded some more pearls on the tulle wrapped around the flowers and stuck it down the best I could. I am putting it in for the ukscrappers challenge this week to use old stock, make an embellishment and use some fabric!
