So easy, its almost naughty!

Josh only has a few more weeks to go before he leaves primary school.  Seems incredible that he is ready for secondary school - but he is - he has his two days of induction next week!

So, I have been all organised and sorted out the choccy bars for his friends.  And - it was so quick I almost feel guilty!  ALMOST!

So - a nice little step-by-step!.....yes - it is tongue in cheek!
Step One - go to Tesco and find the best deal you can on 30 choc bars - CLUBs won the day for me - pack of 24 - half price - Two packs for under £4....and plenty left over!

Step Two - remove the wrappers, measure and make replacements!  This is actually really easy - I used inkscape to pre-colour the image that Josh chose, then pasted it into word to do the actual covers.  I find it easier to get these done in word - not sure why really as I use inkscape for just about everything else!

Step Three....print, cut out and replace the wrappers - glue stick does a great job and is cheaper than my double sided runner thingy.

Step Four - take the beauty shot!  Lol!  These took about 15 mins to get them all re-wrapped again - an absolute breeze!

Step Five - errrr, there isnt one - thats it!  Oh no, hang on - STEP FIVE!>.... make sure you remember to give them to your child on the right day and that he remembers to give them out!  Sounds daft, but last summer we made lots of sweetie bags and he forgot to hand them out!

Well, thanks for popping over - hope you are having the lovely weather we are today!

Couple of Kenny K cards!

I love that I can use Kenny K for my "men's cards".  Talk about the two extremes today....I made one for a 60 year old and one for an 11 year old (my son!), both using the same image.

Quite funny really - neither of them would be able to have her (if she were real!) - one too old and one waaaaay too young (my baby dont forget!).

Thanks for popping by

Delicious Doodles meets Kenny K!

How good does life get???  Two faves of mine....Kenny K is sponsoring Delicious Doodles' Challenge this week!  And the challenge is to make a card for a teen.  Kenny K's images are just perfect for teens (and men, men, men!).

While I was away, I got the chance to meet up with Samantha from Penrith Crafts - great gal and we got on so great, chatted like we'd been friends for years!  Samantha has lots of cute beasties too - we nearly came home with 3 chickens and a rabbit...but then I imagined hubby's face and managed to show some restraint!

Samantha gave me a beautiful Easter card - how sweet was that...so I decided to CASE the card, the result of which is above!  YAY!  Thanks Samantha!  AND, while I was at Penrith Crafts I found the little paper candy thingies that are on the card....oooooo I am loving these!  They are really good value too!

Enough of the waffle already!  Please take the time to pop over and see what the other girls have done for the challenge - link is in the sidebar!

Aud Sentiments DT CALL, Challenge and ....BLOG HOP!!!

Oh Wow - you are gonna love this one!  It's our one year anniversary over at Aud Sentiments - I find that just so incredible!  I personally have grown and developed my crafting in this time and its also been great to visit other people's blogs and see how much their crafting styles have changed!  The team have been a blast to work with and Audrey is just a superstar...I have no idea how she keeps us all organised!

OK - so...first up, we have our challenge and DT call.  Yep - 2 in 1 for you!  The theme is....ANYTHING GOES!  How cool is that?  Everyone gets the chance to do what they do best!  We are sponsored by Sassy Cheryl.  I have never used these images before and I have to say they are CUTE!  So, here is my card for the challenge....

It was truely a beauty to colour in!  Please take a chance and have a go at the DT tryouts - its a great team to be on and really easy on the committments....
1. Create a project every other week
2. Comment on entries
3. Vote for winners
4. Be active in our Yahoo group
And we have great sponsors too!

Now - the BLOG HOP!!!!

Each of the DT picked one of their fave sponsors of the last year....and I picked Kenny K

I love the sassy images, they are really new and fresh - the teens are cute but not cutsie - good smattering of attitude and character going on - there are some really funny beasties and oh boy - the sexy ones are just wild!  I have lots of the teens and sexy ones, so thought I would go for something completely different for my project - meet.....SUPER GENIUS!

I kept the layout as simple as possible for a couple of reasons - firstly, I wanted to show off the image (I do feel that too many embellishments sometimes end up detracting from the image - or is that just me, not sussing out how to use them to enhance rather than detract???) - and secondly, the taller of the two is actually a notebook and I wanted it to be functional and not have bits getting in the way or dropping off!  Inside, there are humorous geeky type quotes!

Onto the order of the hop.....I am the first one you hit after you leave the challenge blog.....so excited!  After me,  you want to be heading off to my teamie Julie's Crafty Spot.

Make sure you leave a comment on each blog - there is a really good reason for this (other than completing the whole blog hop!!!) and its because each of us have fabby prizes from our sponsors!  So - I have 5 images of your choice from Kenny K for one lucky commenter!!!! How generous is that?  Now, if I were you, I would pop on over there and drool at the images right after you have finished this hop (then, if you are lucky and your name comes up, you will know exactly which ones you want!!!).  Ooooo and also - they have a freebie over there, just waiting for you to grab!

Really, what more could you want?  More prizes? ---- well hop on over to Julie and see what she has got - just know you are going to love it!  Oooooo hang on - dont forget to leave me a comment!!!

Hop Hop Hop!!!!

Aud Sentiments - Whateva!

For this challenge we have Kenny K as our sponsor. If you haven't seen their digis you need to go and check them out! They are amazing and super fun!  We were so lucky to get to play with some of their images.  I already had quite a few of them so this was fabby for me!

For this challenge we want to see some of those trendy sayings that we are always hearing our kids say.

I made some background paper quickly in inkscape - was really very quick and easy!  Had to be....I did it!

So - the pic above shows the little box thing - and then I made lots of notecards to go in the box - cards are all 5 x 5 so I had to work out how to make the box and the measurements from scratch.  Ended up piling the cards and envelopes up and measuring how tall the pile was!

I took the little aquare of background paper and used it in different ways on the cards - so they looked the same, but different!

Phew - and thats the lot!
I really cant wait to see what sentiments everyone comes up with - think it will be really funny!

SO - pop on over to Aud Sentiments and check out the rest of the team's work - loving it all!

Gerald's Mid-life crisis

We went to a lovely party last night - it was a surprise!  Not for us, we knew we were going - but Gerald is 50!

I needed to do him a card - and we wanted to pop some cash in too - so I made this one!

As my son would say...."hubba hubba!"  Image is from Kenny K (but you guessed that already).

Used some gromlets on the corners (sneaky little things to fix!)

Not just putting this up to show the cash - it is to show the pocket to hold the cash!

And a close-up of the image to show the glittery stuff.

This meets a few challenges....

Kenny K's Challenge is to add some bling - well there is a lot of sparkle so hopefully that counts!
Sew Many Challenges is Anything goes!
Creative Challenge want us to Bling it On!
Stamping Vacation want us to use Kitten but not show Kitten!  Oh Yes, this is one Sex Kitten!  Lolx
Stamp Something want us to celebrate something - well, a mid-life crisis - oops sorry a 50th birthday, is something to celebrate!

Thanks for taking the time to visit!

Passion for promarkers challenge

I saw this and thought I just had to enter it....Passion for Promarkers are calling for "My favourite things"...

Now, there are a few of my fave things on here -

  • My new Kenny K images - eeeee just love them!
  • Sparkly, dotty trainers - well, funky footwear in general!
  • Jewellery (see it in the background?)
  • My promarkers (of course)
  • My nestabilities (of course)
  • Chilling and watching the world go by
  • and....making something out of nothing!
Hmmm think I should explain the last one....all the background papers come from a rather glossy magazine that is produced where my hubby works!  He works in Burlington Arcade - which is a very posh shopping arcade in London - near Green Park.  All the doormen wear formal dress and you are not allowed to be scruffy, talk loudly, chew gum etc or you will be asked to leave the Arcade!  Needless to say, I don't visit too often!  SO - the papers came from the magazine and were part of a photo shoot to promote a jewellery shop in the arcade!  Which now means that I can add in "shopping" to my list of fave things!  LOLX

I really hope that I have met the criteria - the girls are toughening up (but hey - you gotta check out the DT stuff)!

Ooo and just discovered this also fits the criteria over on Totally Gorjuss - which is Sugar and Spice!  Go and check out the fab DT work!

Thanks for looking

Kenny K's DT Call

Wow - just discovered there is a DT call for Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge Blog.  As is ever the wonder of the web, I had never heard or seen Kenny's images (found them via Bearly Mine) - now I have, I think I will be coming back to them again!

I decided to keep the card real simple - to show off the image - Download Diva!  Only little bit of bling are the little square jewels and some glitter and clear glaze on the ipod and belt loops!

Close up on the Diva!

And then, cos I liked it, thought I would make a little notepad to go with the card....excuse my fingers - it really was the only way to stop the blue front lifting and obscuring the pic for the camera!

And finally - the two together.....
Really hope I get picked.....but have seen the list of ladies going up for the positions - and wow, they are GOOD!  Best of luck to everyone!

ooooo - thanks so much to Lisa for the heads up - I would also like to enter this into Creative Cottage's Challenge to "take two" - that is, to produce a set!
