The fields of Gilman road

5x7 pastel,©2013
Nita Leger Casey
New England is at it's best right now! everywhere you look you see these beautiful colors ,it is truly an amazing show of natural beauty.
I have been out  of commission with a bad knee ,so this week end we stayed close to home, normally we are at our pond, I was lucky to see it two weeks ago ,this is the road going out to the main road ,i just love the long shadows.
Well it looks like i am getting a new knee , a bit scared of the process , many of my friends had it done and happy with it so I am going to look to the positive and forget the horror stories!  so the next few weeks I probably will be posting some works that need a home . email me nlcasey@charter.net

Another scene from the Falls a favorite summer place to be on a very hot day!
Today was a miserable day, rain sleet and snow, I think Winter came back !
I did paint most of the day, so it made my day at least a little better.
We ended the day with a nice dinner with friends!

The Winter's Inn
watercolor 6x8 Copyrighted 2010
Nita Leger Casey
This is a watercolor result of my week end in Kingfield Maine . This Inn is on top of a hill over looking the village , The Winter family being very affluent in the old days , Amos G. Winter built a mansion for his wife, Julia, on top of Winter's Hill over looking the town of Kingfield, Maine and the mountains of the Carrabassett Valley. I also believe they had a lot to do about The Sugarloaf mountain , the now resort who is so famous for many New England skiers .
Email me nlcasey@charter.net if you are interested in this gem , great for a collector or someone who has visited this famous location .

"Sun going down the mountain" pastel 8x10, copyrighted 2009
Nita Leger Casey
I painted this scene last week in Maine while at the pond , at dusk before the sun goes down , it hits the mountain like paint brush , I sat there at the edge of the pond with my pastels trying to capture the scene , it was fun to do and had to be quick , if I had taken a photo I wouldn't of capture the same feeling , nothing beats painting plein air ! of course we can always do it, but i sure enjoy my times in Maine when I can . Today I spent the entire day framing for a local show this Saturday at Seasons at Calmore Antique and art show in Dunstable Massachusetts , This is my 5th year doing it , if you are in the area stop by.

"The path to the mountain", oil 5x7 on board , copyrighted 2009
Nita Leger Casey
We are back home after a wonderful five days in Maine. I have painted this path many different way , the sunlight seems to dance trough the trees at all times , so again another scene that always look different in my Plein air days in the woods of Maine . A few commission work have come in so I will have to squeeze my small daily paintings somehow , it's kind of a challenge .
Another beautiful September day.
If you start thinking about Christmas presents , what better way to buy an original work from an artist on daily Painters .Email me if you have any questions about any paintings you see in my gallery.
