Time...

Hello All! Wow, two posts in two days - yes, I'm feeling great thanks!!

Last day of half term, back to school on Monday, so I'm making the most of my time and spending it in my craft room! Today's card is to send to a friend who recently retired, got the all clear from cancer, and has just found out that they are going to be grandparents! It's more of a catch-up card to say that I'm thinking of her and all her fabulous news!

I have just discovered the UnstampaBelles challenge blog, where you create things without using any stamps at all! It's always good to have cards on hand that don't have any sentiments on them, and you can always add them later if you wish - a small tag attached to a paper clip for example! Anyway, the theme this month is 'Time', so hence the inspiration for my card!

What I have used:
Papers - My Mind's Eye (Unforgettable 'Story' Tale Paper), Tim Holtz Coredinations Pine Needles and Broken China
Clock - Tim Holtz Weathered Clock, Stampendous Aged Silver Frantage
Lace and brad - Hobby House
Flowers and leaves - Marianne Creatables, Magnolia DooHickeys and Joy Crafts
Pearls - Ranger Liquid Pearls

I would like to enter the following challenges please:
UnstampaBelles - Time with shabby chic twist
Fantastic Tuesday - Monochrome
Crafty Card Makers - Cut it out

Thank you for stopping bye - DT challenge tomorrow!!

Hello All! Friday again! The sun is trying to shine here in Peterborough, although it's like a bit of a light show as the dark clouds are moving so quickly the sun is almost flashing! Never mind, at least it's not cold yet!!

Today's card is for my other Sister-in-law, and her birthday is next Tuesday! I am also using my card as an entry to the Flutter by Wednesday DT call ( fingers crossed!!). I love using butterflies on my cards, as they provide a focal point in whatever form they are, although I don't use them enough! One stitch at a time...

Morning Everyone! Can't believe we are already in October, the 3rd at that! This year has gone by so quickly! Nadine has settled into uni quite nicely and is really enjoying it, despite having the dreaded Fresher's Flu! I think her muscles are protesting with all the dance and technique classes she is doing, but she is loving it! Johnathan only starts next Monday, and this will be his last year, so I really hope he makes the most of it!

My card today is the one for my Sister-in-law whose birthday it was on Sunday. I have used neutral colours again, which I love, and also attempted a bit of sewing, which is fast becoming addictive! I distressed all the edges for a more vintage look, something else that will be creeping in a bit more!! I also got the Frantage out and had a bit of a play! Hope you like it...

What I have used:
Papers - First Edition
Sentiment - Lili of the Valley

Day 17 at The Crafting Cafe

Hello Everyone! It’s Day 17 over at The Crafting Cafe, and our theme for this month is ‘Here Come the Boys’. We are being sponsored this month by Delicious Doodles, and the image that I chose is the Spitfire.

My Dad decided that he didn’t want a Father’s Day card this year, he wanted a bottle of beer instead, so the logical  step was to make a bottle tag! I made a little envelope to stick on the back to put a little something in for him to spoil himself with!

Thank you!

Hello Everyone! Well, another weekend – yay!! This week has gone by really quickly, which is always good, but quite busy too! Thursday night was quiz night – we didn’t win, but did okay(ish)!! Last night the team went round to a friends for dinner, and we had an absolute ball! I haven’t laughed so much for a long time, I was actually quite hoarse this morning! We played Charades amongst other things, and the miming of the film ’Happy Feet’ will forever bring a smile to our faces!!

My card today is to say thank you to Tracy for having us last night! I have used two different forms of embossing on my card – heat embossing (frantage on the second layer), and dry embossing on the first layer. I embossed the paper and then lightly sanded it on top to bring it out a bit more. I have also used one of my favourite stamps on this card. It was one of the first stamps that I got from LOTV, and I still love it. It is so versatile, and can be adapted for many different girly cards!!

A New Job–Congrats!

Hello Everyone! Sunday night again after a lovely weekend, although not the weather!! I think we are back to winter again – I have seriously cold fingers and nose!! Two jumpers on at the moment, I reuse to put the heating back on!!!

I have been playing in my craft room today – absolute bliss! I love days like today when all the housework is caught up and I have nothing to do except make cards! I have a list a mile long, so at least I have ticked a few off. Today’s card is for one of my favourite teachers at school who was successful in getting a new job at another school on Friday. She will definitely be missed, although I wish her all the luck in the world. I have used a Marianne Creatable flower die again – I love these dies as they give you the ability to make your own flowers in any colour you need – perfect!!
