Cupcakes, Fairy's and Pink!

This card I made for my daughter Donna's birthday, she loves cupcakes, fairies and pink so the card was tailor made for her and pleased to say she was delighted with it!

The image is a download called 'Sugar' from the very talented Mo's Digital Pencil. I was always a bit reluctant to try digital images because I have always found that the printer ink smudges and bleeds and as I use Prismas and Sansador for colouring it was a problem. However, I invested in ink fixative and hey presto! it works! There are some really gorgeous images to choose from, I have quite a few of them on my wishlist! You can click on the link above or on my sidebar, if you haven't seen Mo's work before, go take a peek, you won't be disappointed.

Hope you are all cosy and warm in this freezin cold weather, we have had snow all day today, not heavy, just small light flakes, nothing like it was last Tuesday! Hopefully by weekend it will start melting away and we might even manage to creep beyond nil celcius! Roll on Spring!!

Sweet Tilda

Well lots of birthdays in our family in January and this is one I made for my granddaughter Bethany's 16th birthday. Beth loves Tilda's as much as I do so she was thrilled with her card.

The sweet Magnolia images were coloured with Prismas with lots of Stickles glitter added.
The BP I have no idea sorry, had it in my stash for ages.
The angel charm has 'made for an angel' on it, which adds a special touch.
I made a tag to fit inside a little pocket and made a bow from some left over tulle.
Circles made using Cuttlebug Nesties.
Hand stitched around edge with dark brown embroidery floss

Hope you are all keeping warm in this flippin freezin weather! Had enough of it now, just wish it would go away. This morning I had to lean out of the upstairs windows and knock the icicles off the guttering, they were beginning to thaw and dropping down like daggers! Thought I better do something before someone got 'speared' by one of them, doesnt bear thinking about!

Hope this means we will have a good summer (LOL)!!

Penny Black Joy Fold Anniversary Card

HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all, hope 2010 is a good one for everyone.

After the frenzy of Christmas card making, I lost my mo-jo, just couldnt get motivated at all but we have a ruck of birthdays and anniversaries in January so I had to shake myself up and get my brain in gear.

My first card for 2010 is this one, made for my brother and SIL wedding anniversary. I really enjoy making joy fold cards so thought I would make one for this occasion. The image is of course Penny Black - T.L.C. coloured with Prismas, the DS paper I have had for a while so don't know the name of, sorry! The sentiment I printed on PC. I had this card on the passeneger seat of my car ready for posting when I passed my Granddaughter Bethany who was struggling to walk through a blizzard. I was concentrating so hard on trying not to skid on the ice and watching traffic behind me, I forgot the card was on the passenger seat ........ she jumped into the car and yes, she sat on my card!! I didnt dare open it to check it as I was heading to the the last post collection of the day. Luckily the card seemed none the worse for being sat upon by her damp rearend and I hope it reached its destination without too much damage!

Birthday Card for Ann

Well it's all over for another year, phew!! I hope you all had a wonderful time at Christmas, we had a very hectic 2 days but it was lovely to have all the family together and for Don to enjoy it this year, he has very little memory of last year as he was so poorly. We all tried to make this Christmas special for him and for us.

It was my very dear friend Ann's birthday on Christmas Day and this is the card I made for her, I hope she liked it! The cute Penny Black image has been coloured with Prismas, the background paper is My Mind's Eye and the sentiment printed on PC.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of the holiday week and best wishes for 2010!!

Christmas Cards

I am trying to finish my Christmas cards for this year and this is a small selection of some I made recently. I love this shape made using the Cricut, unfortunately I don't have one of these machines (yet!). Its on my wish list for Santa as I have been a very good girl so you never know!

Andrea has been a star and cut some shapes for me to be going on with, thanks Andrea!

Willow Christening Card

This card was made for a colleague at work, it was a bit last minute as she asked me to make the card on Thursday for the the following Sunday! Luckily I had the front of the card already made so all I had to do was decorate and personalise the inside and make a box. Because of the flowers on the front being so raised it wouldnt fit into an ordinary envelope but I am pleased with the end result, I think it makes it more of a keepsake.

Christmas Step Card

I am really into these step cards at the moment and this is one I created by just playing around with different sizes of card and folding into different shapes. The cute stamps are Ollyfant and you can't see it on the photo but I have added some glitter chalk to the background. At the moment I am trying to make as many Christmas cards as I can, I will post some more soon, so watch this space!

Pregnant Willow

Ooh, I have been a bad blogger, just realised how long since my last post!! I have been a busy bee though, had loads of card requests and i have managed to almost finish most of them.

I am trying to make a start on my Christmas cards, I can see it will be a last minute rush - again!!

This is a sweet little card I made for a friend of mine whose son and daughter-in-law are expecting their first baby next Spring. I managed to find a lovely verse to add to the inside of the card:

First in your world,
First in your eyes,
First in your thoughts,
First in your lives,
First in your hearts
As a brand new life starts
Your very first baby
Your joy

Brown Bazill Card Stock
Pregnant Willow & Rose Swing - Whiff of Joy, coloured with Prisma Pencils
Sentiment - Whiff of Joy, baby words

Spring Tilda

Methinks this little lady should be renamed Summer Tilda considering all the rain we are having in the UK at the moment! Still, not as bad as we had last 'summer' at least we have a bit more sunshine (between showers) and its quite warm most days.

Stamp: Magnolia Spring Tilda
Background Card: Core-dinations Whitewash Collection
Nestie Ovals
Tilda coloured with Prisma pencils

Baby Boy on Moon

A friend of ours has just discovered she is expecting a baby boy after her 20 week scan. I made her this card in readiness for his arrival, this stamp is so quick and simple and I love the sentiment.

Whiff of Joy Women's Collection

The new stamps from Whiff of Joy - 'Womens Delight Wedding & Baby Collection' are so gorgeous and as my daughter is expecting her second baby in January I just had to make her a card with the pregnant Willow stamp. We both love pink (how would you guess!!) and as she is hoping this one is a little girl I thought the pink would be appropriate and might just be lucky for her. Doesnt matter if its a boy though, as long as he/she is healthy.

My New Toy!!

At long last I managed to find a Martha Stewart Doily punch and this is the card I made using this fabulously pretty punch.

The central square was so much easier than I thought it would be, it's just a 3" square of card. The punch is aligned centrally on each side and presto, a perfectly balanced punched square!

Cuttlebug Challenge & Charisma Cardz Challenge

One card for 2 challenges this week for me, I love it when that happens!

The Cuttlebug Challenge this week is to use Coredinations and Basic Grey on your card and this is my entry.

The Challenge over at Charisma Cardz is to use a colour combination of Pink & Brown so I think this one well qualifies!

The paper is from either the Bittersweet or Sugared pad, can't remember which one! The Coredinations card is from a 'Chocolate Box' pad and its the first time I have used Coredinations, wasn't too sure about it at first... but its grown on me! The embossing is of course the Cuttlebug stylised flowers folder.

I have coloured Tilda using prisma pencils and flowers and ribbon are from stash.

Roses Tilda

This card has taken me ages to make but I am quite pleased with the end result. The lovely papers are from the Papermania Signature Blueberry Hill range. I coloured Tilda with Prisma pencils and Sansador, the flowers are Prima and the leaves are Leone Em Ash punch.
I mirrored the inside and as the card is quite bulky with the ribbon and flowers I decided to make a box rather than squash it into an envelope. My first attempt at making a box, I usually buy them so I am pleased with how this one turned out.
The card is for my daughter's birthday tomorrow, hope she likes it!!

Penny Black Birthday

Hello again, hope everyone is well and enjoying the sunshine, nice to see it back after all that rain.

Another card made over the wet weekend we had, not sure who this one will be for, probably my daughters at the end of May. Everything used on this card is from my stash, I am trying to use up the stacks of bits of paper and card that seems to accumulate and take over my craft room!
