Going Dotty
I have been trying to finish this card for 5 days. My little monkeys keep needing Mommy just as I sit down to work on it. I love all the dots. The image is a new one for me from CC Designs called Spring Trevor. I just think he's adorable. He's coloured in copics. I was in a dotty mood for the last little bit and am playing with some OLD paper. It doesn't have any manufacturer info on it so who knows where it came from. The sketch is this weeks layout from Friday Sketchers.
Hope you like him.

Thank Heavens for Little Girls
Splitcoast Stampers is running a challenge a day for a card drive for Breast Cancer Survivers called the "Hope You Can Cling To Challenge." What a great cause for creating cards and supporting. This card is for the "Thank Heavens for Little Girls" challenge. We were to create a card based on the song and two pictures of little girls surrounded by all their pink possessions. Truthfully, it just gave me hives! It made me so grateful for my little boys! I love little girls, I just hate pink. I hate princesses. I hate damsels in distress. My favourite fairy tale is "The Paperbag Princess" by Robert Munsch. Especially since my Uncle's name is Ron and my mother is Elizabeth. It gives me a giggle every time. Honestly, go read it. It's hilarious!
The card uses some pink Brazzil paper I got at a going out of business sale. The image is Miss Rosalie with Roses from CC Designs. Thank you Janneke for that! The pendent at the bottom of the card was a gift from Kristina, thank you too! I sponged it in Pretty with Pink and added some heart brads. The DP is more of my Costco kit which I ran through the Big Shot with my lace cuttlebug folder. That really added some umph to some very simple paper. I'm actually getting far more use out of that DP than I ever thought. I will have to go thank DH for that Christmas present again!

Ribbon Roses
Funny how this is not the card I started with. Actually, I started with the ribbon rose. I had made 3 to do the Paper Sundaes challenge this week, which is to make your own flowers. I quite like how they turned out. I simply twisted organdy ribbon scraps in a circle on some score tape. Then I didn't know what to do with them. I found this stamp that hadn't seen some ink yet. Isn't she adorable? She's actually holding a rose bouquet but my roses unbalanced the card so I have her holding just one. The image is coloured with my copics. I'm getting better! Thanks Kristina for showing me the tip technique. Wow! It really does make a difference. The sketch is Martine's from Simon Says Stamp. I really like this one and will probably do it again.
The card is for my Mother's birthday which is tomorrow. Hopefully it isn't too cutsie for her. She's very practical. There is no sentiment inside. We have a running family joke to not put much writing inside because my grandfather will read each card out like a thespian performance in the middle of the restaurant. And people wonder why I sometimes forget to include cards with my gifts... I've had lots of training over the years!
