Mother's Day Card

Good morning!  Here in the UK it is Mother's Day this coming Sunday and this is the card I have made for my Mum.  Once again I have used the gorgeous Maja Design Little Street Cafe papers.

I have painted the Key to My Heart Tilda with Distress Inks, as always, using the no lines technique.  I have also added some Stardust Stickles to the dots around her.

I love this sweet little Bird House Doohickey from Magnolia.  The flowers around it are from Craft Heaven.

I love these Daisies too.  Perfect for Spring themed cards!

The gorgeous key charm and seam binding are also from Craft Heaven.

I have used the Heart Background Doohickey from Magnolia behind the image.

I hope you like it and thanks for looking.  Stay safe all of you!

Tilda With Flower Pot

Good evening!  Today I have an oldie Magnolia stamp from the Butterfly Dreams Collection to show you.  She's perfect for a Mother's Day card I think!

As usual I have painted Tilda with Distress Inks using the no lines technique.  I've also used a white gel pen to add some details to the flowers and her cheeks.

I have used a tag from Doohickey Volume 5 and added some lace from my stash.

The hearts are the cut outs from the tags and I have also used the Rose Leaf Doohickey for the leaves.

The flowers were cut using a Doohickey Die from Volume 14.  I have used Maja Design papers throughout.

I hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Stempelglede DT - Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to those celebrating today!  Here is the card I made for my Mum using lots of gorgeous Stempelglede stamps.  I have used papers from Maja Design's Denim & Friends collection.
I stamped the balloon stamp from the Steampunk Journey collection on two different papers and mounted them on foam pads for definition.
The butterfly and postmark stamp is from the Postcard from Paris set and the sentiment is from the  Have a Beautiful Day set.  I have stamped around the edges of the envelope with the ink splatter stamp from the Postcard from Paris set and I have hand sewn the lace to the envelope flap.
The butterflies were stamped onto coffee filter paper using the butterflies from the Vintage Baby and Have a Beautiful Day sets.  I have painted them with Weathered Wood Distress Ink.
I added lots of flowers from my stash along with some cheesecloth.
On the back of the card I used the You Are So Special stamp from the Have a Beautiful Day set.
I hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Ribbon Girl DT - Anything Goes

Good morning!  It is time for another challenge at The Ribbon Girl and this week our theme is Anything Goes.  This is the card I created for my Mum for Mother's Day.
I have used Dressed for Festivities Tilda and painted her with Distress Inks using the no lines technique.  I have used a white gel pen on her cheeks and the pearls in her hair.  The postmark stamps around Tilda are also Magnolia stamps.
The gorgeous lace, seam binding, cameo and flowers are all from The Ribbon Girl.
I have used the Doohickey heart tag and bird dies and tucked them behind the flowers.
I have added lots of Ribbon Girl flowers to the left hand side of the image to create a spring bouquet.
I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us at The Ribbon Girl.  Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's gorgeous creations.  Thanks for looking! x

All About Magnolia Challenge DT - All About Favourite Colours

Good morning!  This month's challenge over on the All About Magnolia Challenge blog is to use your favourite colours.  My favourite colours for card making do tend to change every so often, depending on the season or a new paper range.  Currently my favourites are the soft pinks and creams of these Pion Design papers, so I have made a Mother's Day card for my children to give to my Mum on Sunday using them.
I have painted Cause I Love You Tilda with Distress Inks using the no lines technique and added some details with a white gel pen.
I have sued the heart tag Doohickey and another Doohickey Tag from one of the kits to create the tags.  The rose and seam binding are from The Ribbon Girl.
I have created the flowers using dies.  The peony was created using the Peony Doohickey Dies.  The stamens, laces, seam binding and stamens are all from The Ribbon Girl too.
The lettering was cut from a Pion Design paper and the hearts are the cut outs from the tag die.
I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us at All About Magnolia Challenge.  Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's gorgeous creations.  Thanks for looking! x

The Ribbon Girl DT - Card Challenge

Good morning and Happy Mother's Day to everyone celebrating today!  Hopefully I'm busy having a lie in when this post goes live!  Not only is it Mother's Day, but today is also the start of our March card challenge over on the Ribbon Girl's blog.  It is an 'Anything Goes' challenge with the option of 'Spring/Easter'.  My card is for my Mum for Mother's Day.  I created the background with several Stempelglede stamps from the Post Card from Paris, Grunge Collection and Vintage Baby stamp sets.
The bird is also a Stempelglede stamp, from the Vintage Garden set.  I have fussy cut around it though, the image is usually surrounded by flowers and leaves.  The postage stamps tucked here and there in the flowers are also a Stempelglede stamp from the Post Card from Paris set.
The birds were stencilled using Old Paper Distress Ink.

All of the flowers, pine cones and lace are from The Ribbon Girl.  The trellis was cut with a Tim Holtz die.
The lace and cheesecloth are from The Ribbon Girl too.  I have created the sentiment with some white Prima Wire Thread and coloured it with Old Paper Distress Ink.
Here's a close up of some of the gorgeous flowers from The Ribbon Girl.  I especially love the new fabric blossoms, shown here in aqua and ivory.  I made the eggs from air drying clay.
I have also created spirals in the floral spray using some of the Prima wire thread.
The cameo is from The Ribbon Girl too.
I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us at The Ribbon Girl Challenge.  As always there is a fabulous prize on offer!  Thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Stempelglede DT - Mother's Day Card

Good evening!  This evening I want to share with you the card I made for my Mum for Mother's Day which was 15th March here in the UK.  The inspiration for my card was the faux bunch of wild flowers in the photograph which I bought for her for Mother's Day.
I used the Butterfly Collage stamp from the Post Card from Paris stamp set.  I stamped the image once onto watercolour paper and then again onto coffee filter paper.  I used Distress Inks to paint the coffee filter paper image and then cut out the butterflies and stamp to give extra dimension to the image.  I have used some letters from my stash to add 'Mum' to the image mat.  I also stamped around the edges of the mat with the Weathered Splatter stamp from the Grunge Flourish Hearts stamp set in a soft grey ink.
The lace, button twine and birdcage are all from The Ribbon Girl.  I painted the birdcage with Gesso to suite the soft colours of the Maja Design papers which are from the Nyhavn collection.
I also added measuring tape ribbon and cheesecloth from The Ribbon Girl.
The daisy lace along the top and bottom edges I recycled from one of my daughter's old dresses.  I made the buttercups and sweetpeas myself using EK Success Retro Flower punches.  I stamped the French Script stamp from the Post Card from Paris stamp set onto some vellum and placed it under the cheesecloth but peeping out.
I tried to recreate the Salvia from the bunch of flowers with three Kort & Godt chrysanthemums threaded through a daisy flower before tinting them with Milled Lavender Distress Ink.
I also made some Periwinkles using a Doohickey flower die.
I hope you like it and thanks for looking! x
