Movie Star Glamour

As soon as I saw this Victoria Case for SCACD image from Quixotic Paperie, I thought she looked like a glamourous movie star from the golden age of film :) and that was the inspiration for my card today. I have used paper from Tim Holtz' Vintage Shabby collection. I am entering my card into the Truly Scrumptious Challenge as they would like to see vintage themes.

I coloured Scarlet Bonita with copics and after cutting out with an oval nestie I smothered it in glossy accents and mounted it onto some gold pearlescent card. I then attached part of a fancy label die cut and some chain so that she is in a locket. The silver stars are a Sizzix die, cut from silver pearlescent cardstock.

I'm so proud of my flower!! I made it myself using some silk chiffon and tulle. It is one of those where you melt the edges of the fabric on a candle flame (yikes!!) I have seen these all over and loved them but was always too afraid to try it thinking I'd probably set myself on fire or something LOL - it turns out you don't even need to have the material near enough to the flame to catch fire - it melts about an inch away from the flame!! (phew!! wish I'd known that months ago LOL). I added a gorgeous Whiff of Joy brad in the centre and the pink blossoms are from a stem I picked up at a garden centre.

The ticket sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps, stamped onto the same gold cardstock as the pendant. The shell is a Hero Arts stamp that I've done on shrink plastic. The whole display is mounted on top of a fluffy white feather for a hollywood glamour look.

Of course, to keep in with my movie glamour theme I had to add some Tim Holtz film strip ribbon - love it so much that I can't use it LOL! The lace is a bargain find from Boyes - 40p for a big bundle!!

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Just Chill'n for Quixotic Paperie!

A bright, summery card to share with you today using the cute Just Chill'n by Victoria Case for SCACD available from Quixotic Paperie!! I have used the amazing sketch at Friday Sketchers for my card and the papers are all by Bo Bunny.
Wish I had a figure like this LOL!! I've coloured her with copics and added stickles to her earing and glossy accents to her sunglasses, glass and lips for a lip gloss shine!

I made the flowers from some of the paper using Tim Holtz' tattered florals die and the pearl brads are from The Hobby House.

The ribbon is from my stash and the sentiment is from Whiff of Joy's Life's a Beach stamp kit.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Blog Hop Victoria Case

Welcome to the March stamp release from Susana's Custom Art And Card Design.

The Quixotic Paperie design team and myself as special guest have the honour to join up with the SCACD design team for this blog hop to celebrate the release of some fantastic new stamps from artist Victoria Case. This time Victoria has illustrated some stunning ladies - The Bonitas and some super fun Retro Girls!

If you have hopped on over here from Iris' blog then you are on the right track, if not then the first blog on the hop you need to go to is Crafts By Kim.

For my make I have used Flora Bonita

I have used paper from the Spiceberry paper pad by Memory Box and distressed the edges with walnut stain distress ink.

I have coloured Flora Bonita with copics and inked around the edges with Antique Linen distress ink.

I used Magnolia Doohickey dies to cut out the dragonflies from white card which I then painted with rock candy crackle paint before inking with walnut stain distress ink.

The gold embossed corner stamp is also from the new Victoria Case release - isn't it gorgeous!? I created a ruffled frame around part of the ribbon with some scrap organza ribbon from my stash.

I created the tree branch from grungepaper using Tim Holtz spooky tree die. I inked it with the vintage photo distress ink dabber and the edges with walnut stain distress ink. The flowers were cut from an old book with Tim Holtz tattered florals die with some gems from my stash for the centres.

Elaine stocks the Grungepaper and Spiceberry paper pad by Memory Box that I have used on my card.

For those of you in the UK and EU you can get this and the other

lovely Victoria Case stamps from Quixotic Paperie. For those of you in Canada and USA check out Susana's Custom Art And Card Design!

The next stop on your journey is Marti's blog.

Enjoy the hop!

A shaped card for Quixotic Paperie

Today I have the last of my Carmen Medlin cards for Quixotic Paperie. I think this image is my favourite from the set, this is First signs of spring. I am entering my card into Papertake Weekly's challenge where anything goes this week and Stamp Something Challenge who want to see flowers!

I've coloured her with copics and created a spotted background around her before covering the whole image mat with deep impressions embossing powder to make it look like it is behind glass.

The ribbon slider is from The Hobby House, as are the gem brads and I added some ribbon from my stash and some Prima e line flowers.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Another sweet Carmen Medlin image for Quixotic Paperie

I'm back with another Carmen Medlin for SCACD card to share today for Quixotic Paperie. This one is called Fresh Picked. I've used a mix of papers from my stash, the one with the red background is by Magnolia but I'm afraid I don't know the make of the other one.

I have coloured the image with copics and created a little meadow for her to stand in seeing as she has some fresh picked flowers!

The ribbon is from my stash and I added some butterflies punched with a MS punch and some pearls along the bottom from the Hobby House.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Lilia the fairy

Well hopefully I'm well on my way to the workshop (if I can calm the excitement to drive that is LOL) so I thought I'd share another gorgeous Carmen Medlin for SCACD image with you from Quixotic Paperie. This is Lilia. I decided to make an all white card so as not to overpower her delicate frame!

I have coloured Lilia with copics and added stickles to her dress and wings.

The butterflies are Magnolia doohickey dies, also covered in stickles and I have also added a WOC blossom and some doohickey leaves. The chiffon ribbon is from Hobby Craft.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

I coloured "I want to play" with copics. The spotty ribbon is from The Hobby House.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! Elaine has these new images in stock now at Quixotic Paperie! x

I've coloured the image with copics and used MS Flower Shower PATP punches around the image mat.
The flowers are by Hero Arts and the buttons are from The Hobby House. The sentiment is a Whiff of Joy one as is the die cut I've used for the leaves. The ribbon is from my stash. Oh and I've used the Magnolia Doohickey lace die on the red card under the ribbon!

Guardian of Heath & Home for Quixotic Paperie and a little candy!!!

Hope you're having a fabulous weekend and have something lovely planned for today!! Today I have a card using a gorgeous Carmen Medlin for SCACD stamp from Quixotic Paperie called Guardian of Hearth and Home. Isn't she stunning!?!? I could instantly see her in a white dress and so I decided to have another go at colouring on kraft cardstock as I think white looks especially lovely on it. The gorgeous paper is by Dream Street Papers from The Hobby House and I've painted the edges with pickett fence crackle paint.

I have coloured the image with copoics and my Son's white Crayola pencil again LOL. I also added some gold detailing on the wings and spots of the dress with a gold gel pen. I have added stickles to her wings and in lots of tiny dots all around her to represent fairy dust as I can just see her standing in a glade surrounded by lots of the sparkley dust can't you LOL? I added some glossy accents to the globe she is holding. I stamped a Stempelglede flourish around the edge of the kraft cardstock with white stazon and then painted the very edge with pickett fence crackle paint. You can get Stempelglede stamps from Quixotic Paperie too.

I added a mixture of flowers from my stash and some punched butterflies using Martha Stewart punches. I also used the Martha Stewart butterfly edge punch on the top edge of the ribbon. The brad is from Whiff of Joy.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking!!!

Did I mention candy? I hear you say!!! Yes I did and here it is!
The lovely Elaine from Quixotic Paperie has sent me this gorgeous Maribel stamp by Stempelglede to give away to one lucky reader of my blog!!! Isn't she stunning!? To enter please leave your name with Mr Linky and post my candy on your blog. I will draw a winner next Sunday, 23rd January! Good luck! x

Stempelglede's Vintage Christmas for Quixotic Paperie!

I have another commission to show you today!! Oh how overjoyed I was that I managed to buy a set of the incredible Vintage Christmas set from Stempelglede!!! I've never used photo stamps before LOL I was like a child in a candy store when I saw how flat the stamp was and then it stamped such amazing detail LOL!!! These were only available in limited numbers this year but Elaine will have some more at Quixotic Paperie in the New Year so look out for them!! I used MME glitter Christmas papers for my card and decided to make a belt buckle closure card.

Here's a close up of the image, I'm still amazed how detailed these are!! They look just like photographs when stamped onto glossy card!! I tinted the angel by painting with distress inks and then painted the holly with distress inks too. I'm trying hard to think of something to make with the other stamps from the set so that I can get to play with them some more as I've finished my Christmas cards LOL!
I added a Prima flower and some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts together with some Martha Stewart branches and holly leaves cut with a sizzix die.
The gorgeous gem is from The Hobby House and I added a sentiment from the Whimsy Stamps Jingle Bell Ride carousel horse stamp set from Quixotic Paperie. The border is Martha Stewart heart lace punch.
Inside I used some more of the gorgeous lace that my WOJ teamie Tanja sent me and some snowflakes.
I also added a Tim Holtz reindeer with a heart charm around it's neck.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x
