Every year at over the Christmas period I review the previous year and pick my top projects from each month.  This year is no exception so today we start with January 2017!

I start with this card the first of my BVItage Friday where I took a set of older dies and made a new card.  I will be reviving this next year using dies form lots of different companies and ranges!

Opera Opulance...

Happy Thursday,

The review of the year starts tomorrow so its the last post showcasing a new project today.  I would like to taker this opportunity to wish all my Blog family a wonderful Christmas and a fantastic and crafty 2018!

Todays I thought I would share the most opulent sample I made using my Opera Box die set I know this won't be to everyones taste!

To make the longer box base I scored an A4 sheet of gold mirror card down the sides at every 5cm ( Landscape on your score board)  I then turned the card round ( Portrait) and scored at 2cm to make the fold for the bottom.

For the lid I cut the Opera Box lid die twice once in black gloss card and once in gold mirror card.  I then cut the gold top panels form one die cut and glued them onto the black gloss lid before making the lid up.

I added tags made in black gloss and gold using my Mini Tags die set adding one to the top with a black and crystal embellishment.  I then added a strip of 'Holey" ribbon arround the base with a genuine Peacock Feather for more opulence.

Opera Lattice...

Happy Wednesday,

I feel I have been neglecting the Opera Box in my past few posts so I thought i would share a few of the samples I made with the set over the next few days!

Between Christmas and New Year I will be doing  review of the year with a  difference so I will share my favourites with you over the festive period ( for those who were looking for this annual event!

I cut the lid and base dies in Wildberry lustre print card.  I then simply cut the filigree panel, that comes with the set, into each of the five sides of the base.  Next I used the liner dei thats in the set ( The rectangle that lines the back of the panels) in Velum and backed each of the panels.

Finally I made up the lid adding starflowers on the centre.  I added organza ribbon and a few more flowers and finished.  Perfect to have a battery powered tea light inside.

All About Sam...

Happy Tuesday,

I can't believe I had forgotten to share any of the  cards I  made with my Sam Jelly baby die!  I designed him as a die as he is my logo ( you will find a sam on every item in the John Next Door brand)  and I wanted to make a die so that I could make cards and also because I love Jelly Babies as Im sure my blog family all know!

I thought I would simply share a few pictures of a couple of the Sam cards as this time of year we are all short on time!

First Sample...

Happy Monday,

I thought I would hare a fe closer pics of the first sample I made with my sandwich box die set.  This was exactly what I intended when I designed this die a set that could all be made with the one die.

I stared by making the full filigree box.  I cut the front pice 4 times and added the filigree panel to each of them.  Next I cut 4 of the side panels and again cut the filigree panel this time into each piece.  I then simply made up the box as shown in the youtube video thats on my channel.

Next I made the card.  I used the corner filigree panel die and cut this time into a piece of the gold lustre card.  I studded this with pearls and mounted it onto velum to give a soft look.  I added this to a set of layers made with the same card and the press cut stitch dot squares.

I added my Starflowers and leaves to the centre diagonal again cut in the same card shaped and with pearls in the centre.

For the smaller version of the  card I repeated the same process as above but used the smaller corner panel die which is exactly half the size of the larger panel.

I added smaller pearls in the centre of the filigree with just the smallest of the starflowers in the centre.

So just using one die set ( and one set of squares and one set of flowers) then a collection all done, perfect for a special occasion I thought!

Simple Gerbera...

Happy Sunday,

Yesterday was ,my last official demo and work day before christmas so today will be spent relaxing and catching up with some of the sleep I have missed since I launched the John Next Door brand in July!

Therefore I am sharing another simple card today just made with the bonus Gerbera daisy die in the opera box set.

I simply cut the daisy three times down a strip of lilac card ( From Limetree crafts) I then embossed the die three times into a piece of the gold lustre card and placed one of the embossed flower images behind each aperture and added a pearl in the centre.

A couple of mats and layers and card finished ( I used the actual cut outs on another project!)

I hope you doing think todays post has been 'Phoned in' lol

Simple Fold...

Happy Saturday,

Don't forget if you are in or around the Crafters Comoanion store today I am demoing form 10am till 4pm so say hello!

I thought I'd share a simple card today, again made with the panel die from the Sandwich Box set I know I've used this loads but the dies in the set are so flexible!

I simply made a gatefold card the same size as the double the die, to make this easy I measure my die in the guillotine and cut the card to size.  I then simply cut the panel die into each of the folds of the card ( I used the gold lustre card from Crafts too as it has a beautiful gold sheen where the light catches it.

I then used the microdot sheets ( so the glue wouldn't show on the inside) to add velum to the back which softens the colour of the pink at the back and adds strength to the card.  I added a simple row of stick on pearls and a ribbon tie.

I added the sentiment, from my everyday sentiment clear stamp set, to a piece of the lustre acrd and cut it out with the small circle die form my mini tags die set.  I added a mat of rosa lustre cut with the larger die in the set and added the smallest of my starflowers cut in vellum.
