Happy Thursday,
With all the excitement and rushing to be at C&C for 8am to set up I completely forgot my DT card for Creative Expressions yesterday! Naughty I know so I'm afraid its a day late lol so those of you who pop over to the CE blog will have had a look at today's card already, a day earlier than I have posted it (its a good job Sarah who runs the DT is snowboarding in Italy isn't it?!?)
I used the CE Craft dies by Sue Wilson Bevelled Glass triplet to create this square background using the same technique as I used for the butterfly card last week. This time I aligned the die so that a square section was left in the middle. The die lends itself to being repeated in this fashion all I did was to cut the first aperture then line up the long edge against the short edge on each turn, the pictures should help to show you what I mean.
Next I cut a square aperture using an old square die from spellbinders and inked the edges of the piece using antique linen distress ink. I cut a larger square using vintage gold foundations card (hard it see the gold ninth pictures but the soft colour and sheen really shines through in real life) I cut a smaller square aperture in the centre of the gold piece and added a further layer with a piece of white cut with a smaller still square.
The centre panel is made from a sheet of the Couture Creations 12 x 12 paper pack vintage rose garden which has the sentiment already printed on it.
Finally I hand cut some of the flowers and a postage stamp from a further piece of the paper pack and foam mounted it around the centre to give a focus.
Don't forget the challenge is still running on the CE blog so there's time to get your Easter themed entry in for a chance to win some Creative Expressions goodies, click HERE to have a look and perhaps throw your hat into the ring.
Off tho the NEC today for a look around, Ive never been to the show before having been living in Spain for a few years till the middle of last year. I can't wait to see what all the fuss is about! lol
Enjoy...

Creative wednesday...
Happy Wednesday,
I have had a play with the brand new Couture Creations heart dies for this weeks DT spot for Creative Expressions and decided to make a white on white wedding congratulations card!
I stared by die cutting the Couture Creations Heart Bouquet die in Coconut white foundation card. Next I embossed a piece of the card using the great dandelion embossing folder from Couture Creations. I stamped the congratulations on your wedding from the Justrite Mr & Mr's vintage labels 4 stamp set, in perfect medium and embossed it with cosmic shimmer detail what embossing powder. I then cut it out with the vintage labels 4 matching die set using the tag die. I then punched 2 eyelet holes and threaded the tag into a piece of white seam binding tying it, with some foam tape behind, onto the embossed and mounted piece.
I
tucked the heart die cut behind the label just popping out and added 2 felt roses made using the Spellbinders spiral blossom four die set. The felt is form Creative expressions and was selected by Sue Wilson to be perfect for die cutting, i have tried lots of felt to cut and have found this, which has a high polyester content, the best!
Finally 2 hat pins form CE, I'm still waiting for my order for Sue;s new stick pins elements set to be delivered however I love these simple pearl ones.
The whole piece was mounted on a 21x14cm card blank and finished. To send this I would normally make a box to go with it so that the flower aren't crushed, however the felt roses will not get crushed went sent through the post!
Ingredients:

Justrite Mr & Mr's vintage labels 4 stamp set

Creative Wednesday...
Happy Wednesday,
Its back to my design team spot for Creative expressions and there have been a few changes on the blog as we have now launched a challenge with prizes. Click HERE to see the challenge and to enter. It would be great to see you enter your cards and this months theme is Easter so get your egg shapes out and give it a go. It';s a great way to win a prize and also showcase your work to Creative Expressions!
Back to today and I thought i could, kinda, get into the Easter theme by using the main element from the scribble rose elements stamp set as its a little egg shaped (can I hear clutching at straws here!)

I have teamed this up with the brand new paper pack from Couture Creations Vintage rose garden. Now as you know I am a lover of paper and this set is just stunning!
I allowed the paper to make all the backing for what is a simple stamping project. I stamped the central element form the stamp set using perfect medium onto milk foundation card and embossed it with Detail gold embossing powder from Cosmic Shimmer. I then repeated the process using the rose striplet stamp, hand cut them out and inked around the edges using Victorian Velvet distress ink (a one of the new smoothies)
I foam mounted the pieces and added a satin edged bow, a dazzler setting with a pearl embellishment in the centre (secured with cosmic pearl PVA) and a couple of pearl sprays to finish.
It would be great to see your cards up on the CE Challenge and you never know maybe win a prize!
Ingredients:
CE Clear stamp set Scribble Rose Elements - by me
CE Stamps to die for Scribble Rose Striplet
Couture Creations Vintage Rose Garden 12 x 12 paper pack
Cosmic Shimmer Detail gold embossing powder
embellishments all from Creative Expressions.

HobbyCutz Sunday!
Sorry today's post is late guys however I was waiting for this weeks hobbyctz challenge to go live! This weeks challenge is shaped cards and I had a hankering to see what the trellis die from Tonic would look like cut as a filigree card so here it is...
I stamped dream in the top right corner with versamark and dusted it with Gold Mica powder (set with Hairspray as I have been asked a few times)
Next i dusted a selection of wooden laser cuts from Hobbycutz with the same mica to give the wood a lovely sheen. I added a few bronze gems around the foliage and on the butterfly.
Finally I added a few of the gems in the spaces on the die cut card base and finished, a little dark but hopefully the filigree spaces make it a little lighter.
The hobbycutz challenge is open to everyone and this weeks theme is shaped cards so get creating and entering! You may even win one of the prizes from our spaonsors.

Love is in the air!
Happy Sunday!
Today's is the launch of a new challenge at Hobbycutz and this weeks theme is LOVE or Valentines. I have been hoarding this beautiful lasercut from Hobbycutz especially for valentines day ( same as I believe a certain Donna Pato is! lol)
This is my Inspiration for you all for the challenge using a range of Hobbycutz wooden lasercuts. Now as all my regular followers know I love die cutting however there are some times when paper cuts just wont do what you want and that's where I find the wooden lasercuts perfect. For this card I used the word love and was able to gild it, using indigoblu Sheffield steel (well I am from Sheffield originally) and sanded it back a little to let the natural wood colour show through.
Next I added a few ting leaves in piles which is great with these as they have depth..
To look what the other DT members have made or to enter the challenge click HERE.
back to todays card I started by die cutting and embossing the red heart in red PMD Card-stock which i shaded using a white chalk ink-pad. I mounted this onto a white layer hand cut and foam mounted onto the backing card.
This weeks challenge is sponsored by The Paper Shelter and there are prizes so click over to enter.
Enjoy...
