Philippines in Mourn.. Thank you Tita Cory...

I was still at work when the news broke. Former President Corazon C. Aquino died this morning 3:18am PST at the Makati Medical Center. She died at her sleep due to cardio-respiratory arrest. She is battling colon cancer for 1 year and 4 months. Her remains will be brought to Heritage Park and funeral service in La Salle Greenhills. Another icon died this year. Let us pray for her. It is a sad morning here in the Philippines. May our former president Cory rest in peace and rejoin her late husband Benigno "Ninoy" Aguino. This August 21 is the death anniversary of Ninoy.

Former President Cory Aquino led the people of the Philippines to democracy in the Edsa People Power Revolution in 1986. I was only a kid at that time and I remembered I was jumping for joy because it was declared no classes at that time. I was not aware of the events during those times. She was a symbol of hope during her time as the president of the Philippines. Color Yellow is her trade mark with the "L" sign or Laban sign . Up to her last strength, she showed the people that she cares for the country and her faith gave her strength. She is the very first woman president not only in the Philippines but in the whole Asia. And she changed the Philippine Constitution of 1987 and the start of democracy in the Philippine after the Marcos regime. February 25, 1986, Cory Aquino pledged as the first woman president of the Philippines. Her term as the president lasted until 1993. Let us pay tribute to Tita Cory by remembering what she did for our country, her contribution and faith. My condolences to the Cojuangco and Aquino Family.

January 25, 1933 - August 1, 2009

My grandmother, mother of my father, died too because of colon cancer in August 30, 2002. It was a year and 7 months battle for my grandmother. She too died in her sleep. I'm not bragging, but, my late grandmother almost looks-like the late Tita Cory.

As of 7:45am, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo who is currently at Washington D.C. for her visit to President Barrack Obama, gave her message on national television for the late former President Cory Aquino. She said that, Cory Aquino is the leader of Filipino Democracy. Also President Gloria declared a 10 day period of National Mourning.

Watch your Health!

Last week I received an email from one of my colleagues at work. I opened the email and saw that it is about a Chinese doctor who survived Lung Cancer. As I go along reading, it is about living a healthy lifestyle. That medicines are not always a way to cure ones sickness. It also about Dr. Tom Wu's book about health. I can't understand the title of the book because it is in Chinese but the email said that it is about 100 ways to stay healthy and eating what is right. I got interested on the topic and researched further and there is an online article I found dated April 2006. The title of the article is Let Medicine be Your Food and Food be Your Medicine - Hippocrates. It talks about healing and staying healthy the natural way and not other people are currently doing like taking pills to stay fit and taking advantage of the new technology.

Dr. Tom Wu
Photo from the Internet

Reading further on the email I have received, Dr Wu's principle is to strengthen the immune system, and avoid medication as much as possible. In his book, he offers the following guidelines to good health:

1. Have at least three bowel movements a day.

Other health experts may advise one bowel movement a day, but Dr Wu says that's not enough. You need three to four bowel movements a day in order to excrete all the accumulated feces from your intestine. Your liver will not be overburdened and it also helps reduce cholesterol in your body.

2. Drink at least three glasses of fruit or vegetable smoothies each day.

This is a way to ingest enough phytochemicals to strengthen the body's cells and immune system. Use not only the flesh, but also the skin and seeds of fruits and vegetables to make smoothies, as they are rich in phytochemicals. Most of the fruit seeds have small amounts of cyanide which kill bacteria and viruses without damaging the body.

Actually the recommended smoothie diet is six glasses a day, two in the morning, one before lunch, two more in the afternoon, and one more before dinner. However, if that's too much, you may start with three glasses a day. Use a high powered blender (at least three horsepower) as it can release phytochemicals from the fibre. It's best to choose sour fruits like green or red apples, grapes, pineapples, kiwi and lime.

3. Sunbathe 30 minutes daily.

We often hear that the Sun's UV rays will damage our skin, and many people apply sunblock before going out. But Dr Wu says the opposite. He says the UV rays will help convert cholesterol underneath the skin into vitamin A which helps moisten the skin and
prevent skin cancer, and also vitamin D that helps prevent colds, osteoporosis, and certain kinds of cancer.

"Therefore, use the Sun. Expose yourself to sunlight about one-half hour a day, at noon or another appropriate time based on your local climate. The Sun will make you healthier," says Dr Wu.

4. Exercise 30 minutes a day.

Don't exercise for more than 30 minutes. If you go beyond that, your body will be overworked. "If you do it more than half an hour, that will become labour, not exercise. Your heart and your body will be working too hard," he says.

5. Shower with hot, then cold water.

Try an alternating cold and hot water shower: Three minutes of hot water followed by 30 seconds of cold water, then repeat twice more. This process will bring a rush of blood and energy to your body. It helps increase your immune system, blood circulation, and metabolism.

6. Drink a lot of water, in the correct way.

How much water you need to drink each day depends on your specific situation. If your office is air-conditioned, drinking six glasses of water a day is enough. If your work involves lots of walking, you have to drink 8-10 glasses a day. If you work under the hot sun, then 10-12 glasses of water are required.

The way you drink is also important. The correct way is to sip it little by little, to give your body cells time to absorb the water. If you drink the whole glass down at once, your cells can't absorb it all, and the water will be excreted as urine.

7. Eat according to your blood type.

Your blood type determines what you should eat. Eating the wrong foods will make you sick.

People with blood type O have to eat a certain amount of meat. If they eat only vegetables for a long time, their body won't absorb all the substances they need to strengthen their immune system. The recommended diet for this group is 75% vegetables, 10% fruits, 10% meat, seafood and goat's milk (avoid cow's milk), and 5% grains.

People with blood type A, however should avoid milk and meat, while increasing grains and fruits. People with blood type B should also avoid meat, while those with blood type AB should avoid chicken and beef.

8. Eat according to your biological clock.

Every human being has a biological clock that tells us when to eat, sleep, and wake up. If you don't follow your biological clock, the organs will lose their balance. Toxins and wastes won't be excreted from your body, and soon you'll get sick.

According to Dr Wu, the biological clock is divided into three phases.

From 4am to noon is the time for bowel movements, so in the morning you should eat foods with lots of fibre. Fruit and vegetable smoothies are recommended.

From noon to 8pm, your body will absorb food so lunch is the most important meal. A vegetable salad with grains is recommended. Fish or boiled eggs can be added to your lunch. Avoid meat at dinner as the amino acids in the meat will disturb your sleep. Try to finish dinner by 6pm.

From 8pm to 4am, the nutrients and energy from food will be distributed throughout your body organs. The golden time for your sleep is between 10pm and 2am, as your immune and self-healing system will function at its best.

Dr Wu says people get sick because they eat the wrong foods. Fried food, for example, causes blockage in the arteries, bad circulation, cholesterol, and heart disease. "Instead of taking a cholesterol lowering drug, I would urge them to stop eating greasy food. My suggestion is to eat clean food, which is high in phytochemicals," he says.

Phytochemicals are natural cleansing agents that will help rid plaque from your arteries. They come from natural foods such as vegetables, fruits with their seeds, and common garden herbs. Phytochemicals will nourish the body's cells so they can fight against any foreign substances that invade your body.

With those mentioned above, I think it's time that we check what we eat on a daily basis and somehow be cautious of what we take in.

Salad anyone?

Yesterday after I got off from work I craved for salad. For my stomach and taste buds are telling me that I had enough meat and meat and meat for the whole week. Since there are lots of salads or should I say "types" or "kinds" of salad, I don't know which one I want to have. I usually eat Chef salad at Shakey's. I like salted eggs but not too much of that on my Chef salad. Too much of everything is bad for everyone's health. Yeah talk about of too much I need to get back in shape. Yeah I know your asking why I said that wherein if your reading my blog, you will read that I am playing lawn tennis. Well, weather here in the Philippines is not good lately. In the morning it rains and in the afternoon Mr. Sunny is way up high with all might light... then vice versa. With this kind of weather, even a kid can't go out and play. This is the scenario almost everyday and with that almost all my colleague are still going to work with colds, cough and a bit of flu. My colleague that I am sitting next to for the past week, until now, is coughing and she said that her throat is itchy. I just hope I won't catch any of those at work.

All right, salad salad salad, that's what I want to eat. When you say Salad, it contains lots of veggies especially green leafy lettuce. But I am wondering if there is another meaning for Salad so I checked Wikipedia and saw that the term Salad originated as the common name for schizophasia, a symptom of various mental illnesses. Schizophasia produces language that is not meaningful and might or might not be grammatical. "Salad" indicates that the words are tossed together randomly. Weird meaning for me but it is good for me. Ironic?

So I went to Shakey's one of my favorite restaurant, and checked their menu under salad and my eyes caught "Mandarin Salad
". Hmmm.. I've never tried this one before. So I ordered Mandarin Salad with Honey Mustard dip and here it is..

The salad contains fresh green crunchy leafy lettuce, shredded carrots, minced cucumber, whole corn and ofcourse when you say Mandarin, there is the orange. Sliced sweet mandarin oranges on the salad. It is healthy, refreshing and sweet!

Rest in Peace King of Pop... 1958-2009

This morning at 7:45am Philippine time, I just arrived from work and as I entered our living room and my father is watching the local news, I gasped for air and was in shock because what is on the news is unbelievable, really! The news anchor just said that Michael Jackson is found dead at his residence in Los Angeles, California. I was stunned and starring at the television screen with wide eyes and all ears. It said that he had cardiac arrest and they said that he died at the UCLA Medical Center. At the age of 50 he died and I hope he may rest in peace.

I grew up watching him dance and listening to his music. I was still a kid back then. I remembered I was imitating his hairstyle when I was I think 5 or 7 years old same with the way he dress during those days. I learned dancing by just watching him move and groove on television. I know there are a lot of negative things that he had done in the late 90's, but to me he is still the one and only King of Pop. I heard last month or April I think that he will be doing a last curtain call concert in Europe this July. How sad that he didn't make it. He must have gone through a lot of stress and pressure these past few days that lead to his death. I hope the media will not make a circus out of his death.
My condolences to his family and friends.

Now two of my top icons and idols in the entertainment industry had passed away this year. First it was Francis "Kiko" Magalona and now Michael Jackson. It's really sad for me. Two icons, two idols, left this earth. It's another loss in the entertainment industry but I hope their legacy will live on... Rest in peace my idols. May God Bless you both.

Brain clog and a poem on the side

I wanted to reply to those who stopped and took a moment of their time to post their comments on my post but my brain don't permit it. Lately, I am having headaches that I can't describe. Sometimes it is painful sometimes it's tolerable. When I go home from work, I just want to sleep and wake up feeling bloated and don't have the appetite to eat. To all those who stop and read my blog and comment, I sincerely thank you all. I'll find time to reply to you back soon

I think our Brain is the most powerful among our body parts/organs. When we get headaches and the meds that we take don't cure the ache, off to bed we go. Lots of meds to cure headaches but there is one that will suit us. As I am writing this post, I'm already feeling sleepy and hoping that when I wake up later, I won't feel bloated again. Or else off to work I go with an empty stomach due to loss of appetite to eat..

Speaking of clogs, I was able to somehow clean my room and somehow relieved it from clogs and clutters. I found my old CDs, diskettes way back in college and before diskettes, floppy disks. Yes! I still have those old floppy disks tucked in my old books back in college. Oh yeah, and later is our very first high school batch reunion that I can't attend to because I need to sleep 'coz I got to work tonight.

Going back to the clutter and old stuffs I found in my room, finally I found the little diary I kept when I was in high school. It is a diary where I wrote some of my poems. Yes I write poems when I was in high school and I was also looking for my drawing book, but I couldn't find it. I was also doing some sketches and drawings during my elementary and high school days just to cure my boredom from watching my late grand ma's merchandising store.

Let me share to you one of the poems I wrote back then.

My Friend, My Love

Everyday I see you in school
And whenever I see you, my heart pounds heavily
When our paths cross you say a simple "Hi"
And hold my hands

If I don't see your face nor your shadow
You couldn't tell what my face looks like
And see you with another person
Something in my heart, that I don't understand

And when I am with you
You can't tell how happy I am
But what I feel for you, you don't know
You only know that we are just Friends

Let's pause for a commercial break

Nowadays, I seldom watch TV because I spend my time after work playing lawn tennis or surfing the net. One time I was watching a evening program and there are always commercial breaks. Not just one commercial but several of them especially if the program is being watched by many and hitting high ratings. I was tired of watching many infomercials and other commercials and I was about to switch channel when a new commercial came up.

I didn't switch the channel and watch the commercial. The commercial is about a little kid (bulilit is what we call little kids ages 1-5 in the Philippines) and she is living in a big new house. The commercial is for Camella homes endorsement. Camella homes is one of the housing developer in the Philippines. As I was watching the commercial, the kid thought she is living in a small house that's why she is moving little by little around the house and finally she realizes that she is now living in a big new home. The kid is cute! And I wonder who she is for that is the first time I saw the kid on national television.

Almost everyone at my work is talking about the commercial and the kid. I searched the internet for the commercial and I found it. I want to share it to you and I also found out that her name is Cha-Cha Canete. She is 4 years old. She once played in the noontime show at Eat Bulaga called Kontrapelo. I found a video too when she played at the noontime show.

Here is the commercial and the video when she played,

Hey! It's all about Nhey!

It has been 35 years... You were a kid, teenager, now a lady and mother. Second to 5 siblings and you are all girls. Blessed with 2 lovely daughters. I was not with you all through those years, nonetheless, I am part of those 35 years. Am I right BFF?

I can't tell everything about her in those years of her life but I can tell you about her when I became part of her. It all started early 90's. I have vivid memories of those times since I was in my elementary. I won't go into details but that's the first time we have met. I think she was in her 3rd or 4th year in college taking Education course. She was one of our practice teacher and mentor. After I graduated elementary, I no longer saw her. Then destiny let us be re-united after 10 years. Destined that I give her a nudge or shake on her shoulders and wake her up to her wits and senses. Sometimes she needed that. And what I don't like most about her is that she keeps herself from all people when she has a problem. Well that's her and I'm not planning to change her. I love her for what she is now..

I have been talking all about her and forgot to introduce her, sorry about that. I have been mentioning her in some of my blog post. She is Nhey Sison or Benilda Lacap Sison for long, LOL! She writes comments on my blog posts as Viper and she is no ther than my BFF! I won't reveal all about her today because it's her special day. Yup, it's her Birthday! How old is she you asked? Better read again the beginning of this blog post but mind you, age is only a number.

Nhey

I'm very proud of her because she stand as a father and mother, best friend and good provider to her 2 daughter. And obedient, helpful, reliable sibling and daughter to her parents. She is hard-working, competent, humble, God-fearing, a good leader, loving, sweet, patient and there are a lot more! As a friend, she will give you whatever she can give. For me, she is a superwoman and miss independent. She has her ups and downs, well everyone has that. She's not perfect, but she is for me and in her own rights.

Nhey's daugthers, Bea and Joby

She is a flexible person. She works hard for the benefit of her family especially for her daughters. Even if she is tired from work, she make sure that everything is okay with her kids. Also takes quality or bonding time wit her kids. When kids have classes, she make sure that all homework are done and reviews them with their lessons at school. With that, kids are among the top of their class.

Nhey loves to read any reading material. She also writes short stories and poems. She loves to watch Korean novelas on the Internet and movies that are romantic, but if you are watching with her make sure that you have a box of tissue ready for wiping her tears because she gets too emotional just by watching those drama stories. So she can't watch with my mother or else the place would be flooded, LOL!

Well, we are both emotional, we love nature and likes listening to Jennifer Lopez's (JLO) songs. Aside from writing, she loves to dance and sing. We are both music lovers. There are things that only us understands and we cannot or don't know how to explain them. She has lots and lots of admirers and some stalkers and after this post, they might be more on the way and I hope they are not stalkers. She's a typical Filipina, simple, morena and beautiful. But we don't know hot to cook dishes, we just love to eat, LOL!

Hmmm... what else... Okay I won't reveal more about her cause she might throw things at me the next time we meet. Peace BFF hehehe...

I won't tell here what is the name I call my BFF, that is between her and me. But my message to you my BFF is (and I'm always telling you) I'm here always at your side even though we don't often see each other or communicate all the time. I'm just here waiting for you to shout my name and you know how and where to reach me. You know me, less talk and more actions.

To you my BFF, I wish you happiness, good health, success and strength in your life. I pray that God give you His abundant blessings and keeps you safe. I wish that what your heart's desire will come true.

It's nice to be back! Game time!

Atlassst! I am finally officially back playing one of my favorite sports. Never mind the scourging heat of the sun. I started playing again Lawn Tennis last month. But unlike before, I was playing almost 4 times a week. But now I can't for I have lots to do but I still manage to play Lawn Tennis atleast twice or thrice a week. I'm glad that I am back playing because I also need to lose weight LOLz! I wish I could go back to dancing too. But for the meantime, playing Lawn Tennis is what I shall do. This is my stress buster and weight buster, LOL!

Here are the photos I took at the tennis court where I play.

Angeles City, Philippines

Coach Ric Manalo

Coach Ric is one of the coach or trainer of the Lawn Tennis players in Angeles City. He also trains some players who are taking part on the National Games on Lawn Tennis. His wife and 2 kids are lawn tennis players too. His daughter Nikki Manalo is a champion in lawn tennis. I forgot which division she is included. Also his son Joshua Manalo is also a lawn tennis champion. Coach Ric teaches lawn tennis to kids as early as 2 years old. There is no age limit as long as one can still play tennis. He teach basic, advance and professional tennis. His hard work, patience and skills molds the lawn tennis players of Angeles City. During his time, he won several championships in lawn tennis. I am amazed on how he teaches lawn tennis to kids because in just one week, a kid can play lawn tennis for beginners. There are some kids that really don't have the talent in playing this sport, however, Coach Ric will not give up that easily once he know a kid has a potential in playing lawn tennis. He teaches from morning even high noon until late afternoon depending on the available time of the person he will teach or train.

Here are some of the kids that he teach to learn lawn tennis

These are Alfred and Paula Inofre, they are siblings

Alfred takes the shot and...

Follows through.

Paula or Pau takes her shot and...

Follows through.. nice!

This is Alfred. They call him Red for short. He is 9 years old. Last year both of them started taking lawn tennis lessons from Coach Ric. They only get to play lawn tennis when they are here in Angeles City because they go to school in Manila. I get to chat with them during their break time taking lessons. Red is a shy type kid but once you ask him about computer stuffs and online computer games, he starts to talk and talk, LOLz! At his age, he can already play lawn tennis. I was not able to see them last week for they took a vacation and I hope I could see them next week.

It's a bit difficult to teach lawn tennis to kids because if they don't have the confidence and initiative to learn the sport, they won't learn and would easily get iritated. Coach Ric once told me he taught a 2 years old kid who is still wearing her diaper as Coach Ric teaches her. She can hit 10 to 15 tennis balls. After that she would tell Coach Ric "ayaw ko na (I don't want anymore)", LOLz! Then they will stop the lesson and resumes the next day hehehe.. I saw that kid once, she is beautiful like a little cherubin. I salute Coach Ric for his patience and perseverance in teaching lawn tennis.

I will post more of my courtside lawn tennis adventure next time so stay tuned! =)

Earth Day 2009

Today we celebrate Earth Day. It is the day to be aware and appreciate our home, the Earth. All living and non-living things in nature are on Earth. It is held annually during both spring in the northern hemisphere and autumn in the southern hemisphere. It was founded by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in in 1970 and is celebrated in many countries every year.

From the Earth Hour held last March 28, where in all lights from houses, some streets and establishments were turned off for an hour 8:30pm to 9:30pm PST to remember and be aware that mother nature needs our help to keep the earth well maintained and cared for.

There are now many disasters that our world is encountering. From climate or sudden weather change, flash flood, erosion, pollution (land, air and water), earthquake and global warming. If you would compare our surroundings before, now many are taking advantage of our nature and they are not aware of what they are doing which destroys earth.

Yesterday, around 3am Philippine time, there is an earthquake I felt. I think it is around 2 to 2.5 magnitude on the Richter scale. It lasted for a minute and thank God nothing awful happened for I am at work. But some of my co-workers got scared. I was thinking of my family and friends at that time. It's not usual to have earthquakes. The last country I heard that was hit by a massive earthquake was in Italy, were many died.

I no longer enjoy riding the jeepney because pollution hits my nose and I come home with a dirty nose and face. Smoke belchers don't care if they polluted the air with tons of black smoke from their vehicles. Even factories no longer care if they pollute both the air and water. I was watching a show in one of our local channels last Sunday and they featured Pasig River for an advance tribute to Earth Day. What I saw really really made me sad and disgusted at the same time. Let's face it, there are many projects to revive the Pasig River, but how come non is successfully. Why I said non is successful? Because the river is still polluted and other parts of it already produce methane gas because of the garbage piles under the water aside from the garbage along it's river banks. Pasig River used to be a cool and refreshing spot I think in the early 60's. But now, I don't even want to go near it because of the bad smell of the water. Thank you very much for those people who are trying to rehabilitate the Pasig River, I salute all of you.

Here are some photos I found on the Internet that somewhat related to the environment.

People look at an eruption of an underwater volcano in Hunga Ha'apai, Tonga, March 18. The blast is only 34 nautical miles off the coast of Tonga's capital Nuku'alofa.

Environmentalists have big plans for robotic fish like this one shown at the London Aquarium. The carp-shaped machines, which cost $29,000 a piece, are being released into sea off northern Spain to detect pollution. The robots mimic the movement of real fish and are equipped with chemical sensors to sniff out potentially hazardous pollutants.

Laundry hangs outside a student dormitory at a college in Wuhan, China. I think this will help in electricity conservation, don't you think?

I forgot if this is Sunrise or Sunset but it is definitely in Mumbai, India. This is the photo I like most. Let's take care of our environment so that we can see the clear blue sky and rays of the sun not the gray and polluted sky.

I hope by the year 2015, we still have a place to live called Earth if all of us will do something for our environment. Let's start by not using plastic bags and use alternatives to replace plastic bags. Let us recycle. It's true that there is money in garbage but we need to be patient in segregating the garbage in order for us to sell those recyclable materials. Instead of throwing your used plastic bottles of energy drinks or soda and aluminum cans, you can take that home and collate them in one sack and later on you will see that you have just collected recyclable materials that you can sell and turn into money. It's not too late, we can make a change.

You're still the man and forever will be...

40 days ago is not an ordinary day for me. 40 days ago, I was eating my lunch while watching my favorite noon time local show called Eat Bulaga. 40 days ago Vic Sotto made a very special announcement but that made the public mourn and shocked. 40 days ago news spreaded like wild fire and fast as a bullet train. How time flies, don't you agree?

Today is the 40th day since the untimely rest of our beloved Francis "Kiko" Magalona. I hope his family, friends and relatives have already accepted the faith that our dear friend Kiko had gone to. I was reading about 40 days after death and I found out that within that 40 days, a soul wanders into the natural and supernatural worlds. On the first day of death, a soul is judged if it will go to heaven, hell or purgatory. A soul do not haunt houses, or walk the earth as ghosts.

In another entry I have read, it said that in these 40 days the soul is tested for sins. Each day for 40 days, a soul goes through obstacles that are called toll-houses. For the course of two days the soul enjoys relative freedom and can visit places on earth which were dear to it, but on the third day it moves into other spheres. At this time (the third day), it passes through legions of evil spirits which obstruct its path and accuse it of various sins, to which they themselves had tempted it.

Then, having successfully passed through the toll-houses and bowed down before God, the soul for the course of 37 more days visits the heavenly habitations and the abysses of hell, not knowing yet where it will remain, and only on the fortieth day is its place appointed until the resurrection of the dead. Some souls find themselves (after the forty days) in a condition of foretasting eternal joy and blessedness, and others in fear of the eternal torments which will come in full after the Last Judgment. Until then changes are possible in the condition of souls, especially through offering for them the Bloodless Sacrifice (comme
moration at the Liturgy), and likewise by other prayers.

I just hope and pray that Kiko is finally in the heavenly kingdom enjoying himself for eternity. Kiko wherever you are you will not be forgotten. We will keep on including you in our prayers. May the Lord Bless you and finally rest in peace.

Good Friday: Church and Flagellants

I was sick the moment I woke up last night I have a few rashes on my right arm some on my left arm and on my back. I don't know how I got them. Luckily they are not itchy or else they would become wounds because I can't help but scratch them. But I had to get to work. I couldn't afford to absent myself. Even if I'm chattering my teeth because I am cold at work, I was able to surpass and finished my shift at work. I was praying the whole time asking to get me through my shift. At the end of my shift I no longer feel dizzy and cold. Since I was not able to do Visita Iglesia, I decided to drop by at the church before I went home.

There are lots of people in the church. I reached the church by 7:30am and there will be station of the cross by 8am and the parade of saints later in the afternoon. I can't attend the parade because I need to sleep and equip myself for another night at work and I could not be going to work again dizzy and cold. Actually my head still hurts as I am doing this entry. But I still managed to take some photos at the church before I went home.

Here are the photos of Sto.Rosario (Holy Rosary) Parish Church in Angeles City, Philippines.

The Exterior of the Church

The Interior of the Church

This one above will be used later at the parade

Holy Rosary Parish Church is the biggest church here in Angeles City. It is in the heart of the City. You won't miss it if you go here.

As I am walking home from church, I saw many flagellants in the street near our barangay and people mostly by-standers are in the streets. Every year there are about more than a 100 flagellants that devot themselves to this practice. Good Friday is where most of the flagellants in our barangay lined up to go to pabasa (literal meaning to read or reading) and tell their intentions to God. I think they visit 9 pabasa in one day, some 12. I remember when I was still about 4 or 5 years old, I used to be scared of flagellants and I hide myself from them thinking that they would get me.This time, I followed them going to the pabasa build by my relatives infront of their home. And took a few shots.

Second Batch of Flagellants

Actually I missed another batch of flagellants. The street above is one block away from where I live.

Let us not forget the true meaning of Holy Week. Let us remember that Jesus Christ gave his life for us to live in this world. I know we have different beliefs but nonetheless, faith strengthens ones belief. This Sunday will be Easter Sunday. The day that Jesus Christ came back to life and renewed our faith in Him. Advance Happy Easter to all!
