Das doppelte Lottchen #158

It's sunday, that means it's Lottie and Lisa time!

Lottie and Lisa means Anni and I usually pick a stamp or stamp set or die that we both have (we nearly have the same taste!) and create a card with this product and another task.
Today Anni made a wish, and it is:

Rayer Die "Baby Elefant"

&

Wood Veneer

I had a word cut out from real wood in mind but when I put my first card together there was not enough space for it to be placed on the card. So I only cut a little "Hurra" (Means Hooray) from Balsa wood and made a second card for my prepared word. This way you get to see two completely different cards today:

1) The card on which I changed my mind:

Just add Ink - "E" (Elephant)

2) The second card with the stacked diecut piece ;)

I like both cards and I think they're fun for different occasions and recipients :)

Now hop over to Anni's blog to find her creation :) She'll knock your socks off ;)

Thanks for viisting!

Today Anni made a wish, and it is:
Create A Smile - Snow Dance Kit

and

Ombre embossing paste /Texture paste

I thought I was done with Christmas cards for a while, but due to the break in December there are some challenges left that should have taken place before Christmas... so - who cares - nect Christmas is coming.

I've been Playing with watercolors today and again fell to one of my fav. combos: yellow, orange and pink. The blend in such a fabulous way - So I thought they'd make a great ombre look as well. When I has mixed all the paste I was like "Christine, for  a CHRISTMAS card - seriously?"
I've always loved untraditional cards so - why not?

This is the result :9

I had a hard time getting the colors righton the photo, but I think this is pretty close... The lowest snowflakes are kind of pink, but the light made capturing hard today.

Hope you don't hate me for posting another Christmas card ;)

Das doppelte Lottchen #141

It's sunday, that means it's Lottie and Lisa time!

That means Anni and I usually pick a stamp or stamp set or die that we both have (we nearly have the same taste!) and create a card with this product and another task.
Today I made a wish, and it is:

Stampotique - Stack of Birds
&
Crackle Paint

I am in love with crackling paint right now - I could use it on ton's of cards. Passing it through a stencil with a gradient distress-blended pattern woul look cool was what I thought. And for the German sentiment saying "Friends like you are priceless" I wanted to make one of the birds stand out - that's why I colored the others in warm grey tones.

  • Stamp the birds, color and funzzy cut them.
  • blend Distress Inks in Cracked Pistachio and Twisted Citron trough a stencil. Keep the stencil in place and add crackling paint. Let it dry or (carefully!) dry it with your heat gun.
  • Stamp the sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black Ink.
  • Add the birds using foamsquares - this makes them stand out.
  • use matching embossing powder on some wood veneer stars to embellish your card.
  • ad a strip of washi to finish off the card.

Here's a close-up of the crackling paint. It was hard to capture and looks way better in real life:

  • Crackling Paint adds a lot of texture to your card - keep the rest of your card simple to make the crackles shine.
  • embossing powder is a great way to make your embellishments match your project.
  • Make your sentiments and images say the same. This pulls your card together.

Today I made a wish, and it is:

Create A Smile - Botanical Love
&
Foiling or metallic embossing

I have NO IDEA why I came up with this challenge because it is so far from my comfort zoone. I don't own foil and I don't do a lot of metallic embossing, because I'm not too much into elegant cards. Well, at least the set has the option to create something elegant.
I tried some gold embossing through a stencil and added a tiny strip of gold to the sentiment. The flower was colored with Distress Ink in Cracked Pistachio and Pine Needles (my fav combo!). I don't like the card a lot, but maybe you do?!

Thanks for stoppin' by, please check out Anni's blog to see how she was inspired by this challenge :)

Das doppelte Lottchen #125

It's Lottie and Lisa time!

That means Anni and I usually pick a stamp or stamp that that we both have (we nearly have the same taste!) and create a card with this set and another task.
Today I made a wish, and it is:

Sweet Stamp Shop - Hedgehog Kiss
und
Translucent embossing past

Sweet Stamp Shop - Hedgehog Kiss
und
Translucent embossing paste

I kept my card pretty simple - blended some Distress ink over a heart-stencil and on the backgroun piece, added the embossing paste on top of the stencil and that's pretty much it. Stamping, coloring, fuzzy cutting, assembling - done!

Stempeln, colorieren, ausschneiden, zusammenkleben - fertig!

Now hop over to see Anni's wonderful creation! Thanks for your visit!

Finally - a new video :)

Happy new year!

Hope you all had a good start to 2015 - i dure did. (We had a friend with us, played games (Carcassonne) and ate Raclette (is that a internationally known thing? I have no idea...). It was wonderful.
Well, I'll never be a fa of fireworks, I think they're useless and mean to all the poor creatures outside, but dispite that I really enjoyed the night.

I also made a video that I finished this morning - so I can finally share anotehr video with you. (I feel bad I am not able to make a video for each tuesday at the moment... boo!)

I created this male Valentine's card:

I had not made a watercolor card for quite a while now and thought they would make a nice background for the large chipboard letters. I badly wanted to use those ;)

Stamps: Create A Smile - Balance

Chipboards: Create A Smile - Alphabet

Die: Simon Says Stamp Circ e Border
Embossing Powder: Wow Clear Gloss ultra fine, Hero Arts white
Ink: Versamark

  • Using the blending tool with Versamark ink adds more options to partial heat-embossing.
  • A regularly patterned washi tape makes it easy to mask off the edges correctly and even
  • Add layers of watercolor to control the amount of color
  • use your heat gut to move the watercolor on your paper

Hope you enjoyed the video - maybe I'll have another one on sunday.. I'll try ;)
Stay tunes and follow the Create A Smile Blog to see all the fun things coming up this year. The new release is coming up NEXT WEEK!.. Woohoo!

Challenges:
Simon Says stamp - anything goes
House of cards - Photo inspiration:

Create A Smile cards that I haven't shared over here

Hi there,

I have a bunch of Create A Smile cards that i totally forgot to share over here (I got a new planner, so I'm much more organized from now on ... promise!)

Lets get the parade started:

1) liebste Grüße (loveliest greetings)

I used the heart-speech-bubble from Perfect Tune and colored it up 13 times. I am a sucker for rainbow, so I really really love how this turned out!
Challenges:

 2) Flying by to say Happy birthday
I think the Hypnotize Background really gives some movement to that little Penguin from Penguin Party. I blue. embossed it and used some stormy sky Distress ink for some emboss-resist.

3) Sonnenschein - na endlich.
This was my "try-out" card when I created the clouds-stencil for our store - and I jumped up and down when I saw how this turned out. (They are probably my fav stencils in my drawers). The sentiment was made using the "Sonnenschein"-chipboards and a sentiment from "Für Alle Fälle". It says "Sunshine - finally".
Challenges:
Friday Mashup - It's all about the weather

4) My fav image.. little Mr. Beaver (I think he should have a name.. although "Mr. Beaver" sounds nice!) And some printed digital papers - Pretty simple!

5) Hola
Did you see that Perfect Tune has sentiments in different languages? French, Spanish, English, German. So this little cockatoo (from Jungle Fever) might be a spanish guy. I also used the "Say it!" Stencil - looove all the speech bubbles!
Challenges:
Citycrafter Clannge - ONE Word
Allsort Challenge - No design papers
Crazy for challenges - Hello

6) Frohes Fest
Last is a pretty elegant card using stars from Whimsical Wheels and the Hypnotize background with glittery embossing powder. (WOW! Clear Sparkle) I cut the sentiment (saying Merry Christmas) from some real wood paper using my Silhouette...  I should do this more often!

See the glitter?

Challenges:
Inkspirational: Christmas without red or green
Just us girls - photo inspiration:

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed this bunch :)

Oh, and don't forget - you have until tomorrow to apply for the Create A Smile Design Team!
