Sambal Goreng


Ingredients:

  • 2 Tempe (fermented soy beans) - cubed, deep-fried, set aside
  • 1 Firm tofu -cubed, deep-fried, set aside
  • 1 medium pototo - quatered & sliced, deep-fried, set aside
  • 1 small carrot - jullienne cut
  • 1 full cup snake bean
  • 1 full cup cabbage
  • 1 cup small prawn
  • soon - soaked & rinsed
  • fucuk - soaked & rinsed
  • 1 medium onion - sliced
  • 2-3 garlic - sliced
  • 1 tablespoon or less, chilli powder
  • 2-3 tablespoon sweet soy sauce
  • salt to taste
  • 3-4 tablespoon oil

Method:

  1. In heated oil, sautee onion and garlic till it released fragrance. Add chilli powder and little bit water (approximately 3-4 tablespoon). Let it cooked untill oil surfaced.
  2. Add prawn, add soy sauce. Cook for a while.
  3. Add carrot, cook until it half cooked. What I did, I microwaved carrot for 1 minute, so I dont have to cook so long on stove. Followed by snake bean and cabbage. Add little bit more water if to dry.
  4. Add tempe, tofu and potato. Stir.
  5. Add fucuk & soon. Wait until everything is cooked. Salt to taste.

Tauhu Kucai


  1. Deep fry silken tofu till browning. Remove from stove and set aside.
  2. Sautee garlic till fragrant, add water for gravy. Add sesame oil and fish sauce. Let it boil.
  3. Break in 1 egg and give a good stir.
  4. Add fried tofu and chive.
  5. Thicken gravy with corn flour.
  6. Salt to taste.

Kerabu Pucuk Paku


  • A bunch of fern shoot (pucuk paku)
  • A kilogram of coackles
  • 2-3 small red onion - finely sliced.
  • 1-2 red chillies
  • shrimp paste
  • salt to taste
  • sugar to taste
  • lime juice to taste
  • 2-3 tsb coconut paste (kerisik)
  1. Cut small the fern shoot - about 1 inch long, and scald it in boiling water for about 1 minutes. Then rinse in cold water to keep the freshness and the color.
  2. Cockles - Cook it in hot water for a while, and shelled.
  3. Make sambal - blend chillies, shrimp paste, salt, sugar and lime juice.
  4. Combine fern shoot, cockles, sliced onion and sambal. Toss with the coconut paste.
  5. Serve.

Tauhu Kukus

Original recipe was from myresipi.


  • silken toufu
  • oyster sauce
  • garlic
  • sesame oil
  • fried shallot
  • spring onion
  1. Mix oyster sauce, garlic with small amount of water. Pour into a heatproof saucer/plate.
  2. Place the toufu on top of the sauce.
  3. Steam it for approximately 15-20 minutes.
  4. Just before serve, sprinkle with sesame oil, and garnish with fried shallot & spring onion.

Kerabu Betik Muda


  • Green papaya - julienne
  • Carrot - julienne
  • Onion - thinly slice
  • Tomato - thinly slice
  • Coriender - chop
  • Lemon juice
  • Bird eye chilli - i didnt put this
  • Salt & Sugar to taste
  • Toasted cashew

Just mix all ingredients and serve.

Labu Masak Lemak


  • 1 medium bowl diced pumpkin, cooked with water in a pot. Just enough water to cover pumpkin.
  • Let it boil with 2 shallot - sliced, quarter handfull of anchovy and 1 medium size of tumeric leave. Cook till pumpkin become tender.
  • Add 150 - 200 ml cocunut cream. Let t simmer for a while.
  • Switch off stove. Serve with rice.

Pajeri Terung


Ini semua LG punya pasal. I saw pajeri terung in his blog last month, and it made this pajeri terung sitting in my head all the time! And i just want it just like this...just white rice, fried fish and kicap! arghhh sedapp sedapp sedappp.. :D

  • Heat 3-4 tsb oil, fry cinnamon stick and star anise for a while.
  • Add garlic, onion and shrimp - blend and fry till fragrant. Add in curry powder.
  • Add eggplant and lite coconut milk - simmer till eggplant soften.
  • Add kerisik (toasted shreded coconut and finely blend).
  • Salt and sugar to taste.

Jeruk Chilli

It's a pickled chillies..to be exact! I had this with my bihun goreng, or just have it like that with rice. I told you...i like hot stuf lately!!
  • Mixture of sugar and salt in hot water, stir till disolved.
  • Add in chillies in it..and keep it.
  • It will be ready in 2-3 days time. Can last long if stored in the fridge.

Cendawan Goreng


Batter : Combination of corn flour, rice flour & plain flour, water, salt & lime paste (kapur makan) - prepare batter, not to thick and not to watery.

Clean mushroon (oyster mushroom), pat dry wth kitchen towel, dip it into the batter and fry in heated oil till it browning.

Coriander Prawn Curry With Vegies


Seen this at Vin's blog. Original recipe called for okra, but i've subsituted it with baby corn.
