Plush Deco Sticker DIY Tutorial

For those of you who didn't already know I work full-time as an instructor, teaching kids creative technology. Work for me tends to be extra busy during the school holiday periods, as parents send their children to our centre to keep them occupied and for them to learn something new. Also, my personal and social life has kept me thoroughly occupied.
Little Maketto has unfortunately taken a back seat... but not to worry Little Maketto is still my passion and will continue to bring cute, unique pieces albeit much slower than before... so please be patient with me!

Plush Deco Stickers are flat sheets of velvet-y, furry stickers that can be cut into any shape you see fit and stuck on to any item. You can use them to dress up your favourite notebook, pencil case, jewellery box etc.

So without further ado, here's Little Maketto's first DIY tutorial - using Plush Deco Stickers to jazz up an old gift box.


Prepare all the materials you need:
1) Box (or whatever it is you want to cover, could be a notebook, pencil case etc.)
2) Plush Deco Sticker
3) Scissors
4) Ruler
5) Pencil
6) Paper Cutter


Measure the item you would like to cover. In my case it is this box you see in the picture. It's not noticeable in the picture but part of the metallic paper is actually torn making the box kind of ugly. Using my trusty ruler and pencil, I make markings on the back of the plush deco sticker so I know where to cut.



I make slits using my paper cutter and use a scissors to cut away the unnecessary piece. Of course, you can always you the scissors to cut straight away but I feel that using a blade makes my line-cutting straighter.



Peel the backing paper away like in the picture.



Okay, there are many ways of wrapping your item but I'll explain the way I think is best. I prefer to lay my sticker on a flat surface and place my item firmly on the sticker. This way I know there are less chances of bubbles forming and uneven sticking. I then fold the edges up. You can also see that I reveal the backing paper little bit at a time.



For the edges you can do a straight cut.



Or you can do an angled cut.



I then reveal the rest of the sticker and roll the box on to the sticker, folding and cutting where needed.



I used another contrasting colour to do the box cover.



Voilà! Done!

Customized Message-in-the-Bottle Accessories

I've been receiving a few emails regarding the Message-in-the-Bottle Collection. So to answer some of your FAQs, here are the answers...

Can the Message-in-the-Bottle be made in to different accessories or is it limited to just the necklace?
- Yes. The Message-in-the-Bottle can be made in to be attached to bag charms, mobile phone charms, bracelets etc. But this comes with a warning! Because the bottles are made of glass, they are fragile items. So if the bottles drop to the ground from a great height, they will break. I would not recommend the Message-in-the-Bottle be attached to bracelets for girls who are constantly active.

Customized messages??
- Of course! Just try to limit the number of characters, as the bottle and paper is already small.

More than one colour?
- Yes. This is possible, I will charge accordingly.

Can I request for a double-sided message (2 different msgs written on 1 piece of notepaper)?
- Yes. This is possible. I can't post the example of one that I did for a customer, but it was ordered by a guy who had a love message in the front and his girl's name behind. Very sweet indeed! Do note however, that the message behind will be partially obscured by the bottle fillings.

Message in the Bottle Necklace

Hello all, It's been a long while since my last update and I apologise for the delay in updates. I've been really busy and have been using most of my spare time to work on this new collection. How do you customise your own Message-in-the-Bottle Necklace?

Step 1: Choose your Message-in-the-Bottle Necklace style.

Step 2: Choose your bottle pendant.
Price of bottle pendants are inclusive of message, coloured beads and bottle fillings. All bottle corks are removable. Please request if you would like me to seal it shut. Only bottles MB003, MB004, MB005, MB006 & MB007 are available for the Necklace STYLE 4 design. MB001 measures 1.8cm in height while the other bottle pendants measure about 2.8cm in height.


Step 3: Decide on your message.

Step 4: Select your favourite colour.


Step 5: Pick your accompanying charm(s).
Minimum of 1 charm and a maximum of 5 charms.CM020 needs to be selected for Necklace STYLE 3 design.

Step 6: Decide on your necklace chain.
Necklace chain is inclusive of lobster clasp and measures 17 inches in length.

(Optional) Step 7: Opt for a special Bottle-in-a-bottle packaging for your necklace.
This packaging is optional. Message-in-the-Bottle Necklace will be packaged in this delightful little storage bottle. Great as a gifting memento! If no packaging is selected Message-in-the Bottle Necklace will come in the standard organza jewellery bag.

Little Maketto introduces Pandora Jewellery!

Pandora Jewellery refers to a specific type of jewellery charm design that originated from Denmark. Pandora is created using a unique thread system that allows you to design your own jewellery!

So how do you go about designing and creating your own Pandora Jewellery? It can be done in 3 easy steps.

Step 1: Choose your Pandora chain.
Step 2: Choose your beads, locks (clips), charms, spacers.

Pandora Chain
Pandora Chains are somewhat snake-like in appearance. The Pandora beads can be easily threaded into the Pandora chains. Do note that CH002, CH003 and CH004 are the only bracelets with threaded points for Pandora Stoppers (Clips).



Pandora Lampwork Glass Beads
Pandora Lampwork Glass Beads are handmade thus every bead design varies slightly.



Pandora Spacers
Pandora Spacers are the beads/charms that are not made of glass. Most of the spacers are made of alloy metal, Tibetan Silver or enamel.




Pandora Dangle Charm
For those who love their charms dangling from the bracelet/necklace, this is for you. PAC001 and PAC002 are bail beads that will hold your charms. You can choose your charms by scrolling below.


Charms
These are the more traditional charms that you can choose to dangle from your Pandora jewellery. You need to choose a bail bead (PAC001 or PAC002) from which these charms will hang from.


Pandora Stoppers (Clips)
Pandora Stoppers (clips) are used to clip or screw over the threaded points on the Pandora chains. Most Pandora bracelets are separated into three sections and the Pandora clip is designed to hide the threaded points in an attractive way. You can use the Pandora clip to keep each section divided and your beads in place.

Charming Teddy

Handmade with love. This Charming Teddy Keyring/Bag Charm was made for a friend. Crystal Teddy pendant, yellow crystals, acrylic pearl beads, silver bell and diamante cube make up this ensemble.

The picture doesn't really do enough justice, as I took it with the
camera flash turned on. It's a very pretty piece of golden/white brilliance.

I hope to be creating more of similar bag charms soon.
